Thanks guys great report as always, looking forward to welcome Fabio Silva hopefully he can do a good job for us optimistic he will, I believe we can get a result tomorrow going for a 2-1 victory for the bears ❤️🤍💙 ,big Phil is so impressive in the press conference's and overall 👍, sima will definitely be a big miss .

John Buchan

Basically club 1872 are getting their blazers back😱

Graeme Burns

Wonder why we don’t have a conversation about Josh Doig as a potential left back

Elaine Campbell

Well..... I wasn't up for it before your rousing speech at the end there Colin but now I'm thinking bring them onnnnn!! 😂😂😂 let's hope for a victory for the good guys tomorrow 💙💙

Gregg

Because he’d cost an absolute fortune - it’s a non starter. He’s pals with my barber - in unrelated news 😂😂

Billy Forrester

Excited about Silva, with his pace and obvious talent I think he will do really well for us, hopefully we can keep him for next season too if wolves don’t want him, win win for both and puts him in shop window for wolves if they want to recoup some of the vast cash they spent on him

Spoon

As a rule I just can’t get excited about a loan however if Silva comes in to allow us to move for another permanent signing I get the logic. If we have used funds for a loan that could have gone towards a permanent signing then for me it’s a mistake. Our fascination with rehabilitating injured or out of luck guys hasn’t worked in about….ever and tbe idea that he’s better than the league so it’s auto goals is what many were saying about Lam n Des and more than. A bit flawed. Sound negative but not meant to be, if he gives legs, something different and looking forward to Sima being away at Afcon he could possibly go wide left if needed then i can see the upside. Just not a fan of short term patches on problems and I would like to see us break the cycle a bit and just invest in the longer term. He comes and hits the ground running however and it’s been a masterclass 👌🏼

With regards Club 1872 sorry to rain on your thoughts on progress, having been to RST then C1872 the majority of meetings. I like thousands gave up my subscriptions more due to the Cartel/Blazer chasers that were at the top table. They ran the organisation like something from an Eastern European Party, that would not allow free thinking Ideas, and would block them. Until such time as a Whole! New Board and there’s no trace of their infestation, then that is the only light at the end of the tunnel, for a perfectly good idea.

Jock Paterson

As with most politicians, anyone wishing to be a board member should be immediately precluded from being a board member.

I guarantee u 💯% that Celtic will either get a dodgy penalty or we will be denied one tomorrow in the old firm game. They have being building up he campaign about how many penalties we've had his season( despite them having more) and how many we have give away. The adults in their room know it isn't corrupt but they're happy to play along knowing that it builds pressure. We have already suffered this pressure already this season. No way Roofes goal against that lot gets disallowed if it was the other way round earlier this season. They would have never let it go

Colin/David is it true that there are 2 more deals very close to being announced?

Ross Hamilton

Thanks for reading out the shout out for Scott Much appreciated Colin 🔴⚪️🔵

Gary Brown

Thanks for all your shifts on the Friday Updates this year Colin.

Great news about c1872 I left years ago - but would rejoin if it had the correct intentions . We should easy have 50 k paying £10 a month to invest in the club - Not just shares - 6 million a year would make a huge difference . EG helping with Stadium infrastructure such as safe standing . Not obsessing over share % .

Gary Brown

In principal I agree but times are changing and its complex. Fans, especially older ones like me, will have to adapt to loans being a standard tool for a manager. Also need to embrace that any good academy or young bought players who develop well won't be here for many seasons. All about the player trading model and loans of Silva, Sima & Tillman are just part of that. Silva loan suits player & both clubs. Gives us a new player now (is a big talent, potentially a huge talent and young uns like Ross Mac could learn a lot from him) but gives our manager time to scout an actual permanent signing when the summer market is better. Gives Wolves time to see their investment develop and not just write him off. Speaking of which, perhaps Hagi is not done here just yet. Year long loan. The manager will want to see for himself, is the type of player we're missing, very team oriented, works hard, very positive minded.

Not sure where that certainty comes from, he’s the same age as McAusland and I would rather we invest and develop our own talent and not other teams players. I get we need players, I get he has potential but we keep taking 6 month gambles as opposed to laying foundations and we will be in the constant cycle. I don’t accept it’s the way it has to be, it’s a choice and it has risk. I know nothing about Silva and if he scores 20 goals then the recruitment team have played a blinder I would just rather see a different ethos where we identify talent in our budget and work with it to make it better over 18 - 24 months tabs as opposed to shell out big wages on show pony gambles, our recent attempts at this have been at best mixed. The rule seems to be if they had a big move, if they are foreign and if they ‘lost their way’ we can the it into a win, it rarely happens. Silva isn’t the issue, wish the boy well, it’s the ethos I don’t like.

Gregg

Sadly the current set up is untenable and the wider support will not trust those in charge of it.

Graeme Homer

Absolutely shocked you failed to mention one of the reason for C1872’s issues was their disgusting treatment of the late Rev McQuarrie. All too little too late from the cancer within now King has cut their strings.
