David adams

We really have no luck .

Scott

LW, RW, Striker and a LB if we sell Ridvan. Feels like there'd only be cash for 1-2 of those and the rest would have to be loans.

Ryan Stewart

LW and ST now absolutely essential before the end of January. You could even argue a RW as well. Unlikely to be able to get all three though. We might just about be able to get by on the right with McCausland/Wright and others able to fill in there. Only we could lose our best attacker to a long term injury at an International Tournament where he never kicked a ball. Just brutal

Neil Gibson

Great song choice David. I know you love a live show, did you ever see Warren ?

Heart and Hand

No, he's the one of my musical loves I never saw. My dad's mate offered to take me to see him in London in 1992 when I was 15 but my mum said no and yes, I'm still bitter!

Neil Gibson

I'll see what I can find on the hard drive !!. There will be lots there you do not have

Miguel Sanchez

Fans need to behind Clement and Koppen yes shankland is short term easy answer and maybe we'll do it but if they believe they can build better waiting or getting someone else we need to believe in them

Jim McCutcheon

Hopefully this will work out well David as you say a fare chunk o cash , very disappointing for sima and ourselves another blow 😐 , I trust the management confident in their judgements, thanks David 👍

Andrew Finlayson

The Sima news is a disaster, our biggest threat from open play gone.

Mr J K Murray

Sima is another Constantino Rocca [shocker, hic] but was a cash & carry player, thought he was carrying last few games besides being replaced due to heid knocks. Le' PC played as a defender in his own career so trust his eighteen pence [sense, hic] on the 4.5 player soon arriving in. Need also to trust der chicken oriental [mental] of these same players again, as the pace increases on us,yors easter bunny [funny]

Colin McL.

I think the signing illustrates the belief the Board have in Clement - the manager has delivered a few home truths to those running the Club. Clement will (hopefully) prove as pivotal a figure as Gerrard.

Gregg

Left winger needed - bring him home

Ian McMorrin

Of it wasn't for bad luck we doubt have any luck!😐

Ian McMorrin

It's your fault David , we need to hear some good news on the update.

Ian McMorrin

obviously kidding mate , you keep us updated on REAL Rangers news 👍

David Mackie

Honestly, we are jinxed, sad for the player but it leaves us with a massive problem to fix quickly, Dessers Matondo and Wright as our forward options is simply unthinkable.

Brian Rae

Over the moon that we've invested in the midfield. Am I right in saying that this is the most we've spent on a midfielder since resigning Barry Ferguson? 20 years ago. It's clear that our recruitment strategy had to change and this signing looks like a PSV type signing and that is a very good thing. Time will tell if this one is successful but it's certainly the way forward. Now the board need to go even further and get at least one winger and a striker who exceed the ability of what we currently have.

Colin

Iam absolutely raging that we have spent millions on a position that doesn't need work just now and on a player no one has ever heard off but nothing on the two strikers and a winger we desperately need in asap , typical Rangers

David_Davy_Dave

Setting aside whether he is worth the money £4.5m is making me twitch regarding FFP. Assuming when announced it’ll be loan with guarantee we buy in the summer to shuffle that fee into next season’s amortisation costs. Has to ultimately be giving us pressure for a decent sale fee and Butland aside I can’t see where it comes from Also really concerned now with the Sima injury how we cope with being restricted to 3 European squad changes

Alan

Are we gambling on qualifying for the C/L next season? I hope we have the resources cover the outlay on Diomonde and whoever else comes in. We must push other players out the door. That's imperative too.

David_Davy_Dave

Agree. People moaning should reflect on the underinvestment in midfield The bit making me nervous is our ability to actually get £10m+ regularly when we sell players on

David whyte

The Sima news is a massive blow, you couldn’t make it up if you tried

Leslie White

I agree with Colin put a poll on, do we spend 4.5 on a striker or another midfielder? with our luck the midfielder will be injured and out in the first few games, cynic yes!

chris smith

Im just getting completely scunnered with this continual injury shit :-(

Graham johnston

Sima is a big blow but at least he's not owned by us. Hopefully we can return him in January without trying to sound heartless. Also if we can't surely his national side will have to cover his wages. I'm sure that's what happens at that level

Niall MacKay

Intrigued as to how this move came about. Assuming it wasn't a/the priority deal but one we absolute require at some stage soon. Where does the approach come from that brings this deal together now? We aren't looking for a midfielder as utmost priority and we aren't willing to spend £4.5m this window... Yet we will do so. I'm delighted we are. There are always guys to finish off good moves, but we should be strongest in the middle of the park and we just aren't at present. Striker/winger next though.

Allymac1980

Striker a priority, think enter the loan market for couple of young wingers until the summer

stefan strzelecki

£4.5 million indicates the quality of the player. I assume he is the type of player we have previously tried to obtain, then been disappointed as they have chosen other pathways to EPL. I think there is a guarantee this player will deliver for the club on the pitch , and off it. We won’t have him for long, need to enjoy every second he is wearing a Rangers top. Great pod as always David.🇬🇧Stay safe Bears.

Colin Mathie

We need a couple of strikers David.

Gary Brown

Thanks for the update David. Gutted about Sima, as you said he's done exceptionally well in attitude, performance & output. Hope he's back fit soon as can be. The Clement Era begins in ernest with the Diomande signing. A fantastic capture for the player trading model and future of club finances. Hopefully finalised soon and we get to enjoy him for a few years before losing him to a higher profile league. We need to back signings like this - to the hilt! Give time to settle & adapt rather than hounding them out the door after a fortnight. Investors being mentioned more than once by the manager. Investment for the future.

Scott Watson

With our luck, we'd sign a striker, he'd score 5 goals in the first half of his debut and choke on an orange

Graham McCallum

David do you think if Brighton and Rangers are already aligned with Simas future. Is there a chance with this period of rehab maybe a deal can be struck?

Graham Jones

It’s standard practice to hold money back in case of managerial changes, but I have to say that I didn’t see this one coming. I was curbing my expectations for this window so it’s pleasing to see them make the deal happen. It is a concern about how they are facilitating it, but cause if it’s from the summer budget that means we will have to cut that back. I can’t see us getting Sima permanently now if we have front loaded the summer budget here. To be honest, I was expecting a striker to be the priority but we don’t know where Danilo is with his rehab.

Billy Forrester

Trust the manager, gotta look long term and this is obviously a player he wanted and can make us a shed load of money in the future. Why be raging, you have no idea if and when a striker will come in, I’m confident we will have one come end of the window. I’m Clement we trust. I doubt we be getting 2 strikers in mind you, I’d happily settle for 1

David Innes

I’m absolutely gobsmacked by that fee - to say he needs to come in and hit the ground running is an understatement. We should be expecting the type of instant game changing impact they got when they signed Hatate and O’Reilly

Colin Wieland

As shit as we all think Dessers is. He could quite conceivably end up with 20 goals this season. That is mental and something we might well have taken at the start of the season.

Rose Mcloughlin

I have such a massive trust in our manager..it feels so good...not felt that for ages.

Rose Mcloughlin

Sorry meant to say all the best to Abdallah hope he gets better soon we will miss him..hope he returns to us again in the future.
