Great pod James and don’t disagree with your comment but on Dessers he is scoring in big games because today WAS a big game, it’s 3 point recovered or it’s further behind. Every game in a title run is a big game. Your point on him kicking on with a goal vs tbem is totally fair but by the same token, other players aren’t scoring consistently either and we have struggled for goals across the team pre-Dessers and it’s not a new thing. Let’s hope we get a proper Scottish poacher in to play up front, it might be the best use of Dessers is for the first 60 to batter a defence for a quick guy to come on or for the last 30 after someone else has tired the defence out. I think we need to move away from expecting an 11 who play 90 min each week, Clement seems more tactical and keen to use guys for specific roles or purposes and happy to rotate between and in game, which I like. All the best 👍🏻

Good points all round It's entirely fair to point out the two most important games in those 10 were the cup final and the old firm, and that Dessers didn't make a goal contribution in either one Equally you might argue the third most important game in that run was Betis away and he made two goal contributions in that It's true that every game is a big game - especially when you're under pressure from your own fans - but it's also true that there are different kinds of challenge and pressure and valid to question whether someone can perform in them all. Until he scores in an old firm, those questions will keep getting asked and that's fair enough

Really fair points from you both here, it’s so hard to know with Dessers as he is so up and down this season but we are all hoping he is going to kick on now 👍

The problem with the big game label is all our games are big games and we need goals, feel sure as was discussed in other pods however we need to get away from the idea one guy scores 30 and the others chip in 5 or 6 to an attack that has a spread of goals across whole team. Morelos had this same issue until he scored but I think Dessers issues come from the the service and style of service he gets in some games more than his own contributions. In the game vs them he was pretty isolated and his starting position was much deeper than normal which didn’t help. Bottom line is you’re both right he needs to keep doing what he’s doing and a goal against them he competes his redemption. Hope the big guy makes it as he is a genuinely likeable player, limited but committed.
