Cyriel Dessers redemption arc shaping up nicely. 20 goals by the end of the season, easily.

Alastair McGeoch

3 away wins with decent performances after winter break has me beginning to believe that even with the lack of quality in key areas and injuries that we could go on and win the league with Clement. Was also important to cut that gap immediately to 2 points and chip away at the confidence of that mob across the city. I’m not sure that lot have the stomach for a title race to go to the wire.

Russ

You've got to give Clement credit tbf, he's giving players chances and rotating well. Alex Rae's mind was blown at the concept of keeping a squad of 25 in rhythm on RTV haha. Great pod lads, that wind was like custard in Paisley.

AmoRangers

As much as my heart wants to have fun with the Dessers rebirth, my head is calling for caution. We can't let expectations rise beyond what he's currently delivering as it could all come crumbling down if he fails during a bitter defeat in Europe or dropped points in the league. Get behind the lad but let's not get too carried away and get him some backing in the form of a CF! He's a good #2 / #3!

Russ

Also at this point Dessers' greatest ability is his availability.

Graeme Dempster

Is this guy Cortes really a right winger or is he another right winger like matondo was supposed to be! All the clips I've seen of him shows him cutting in from the left

Chris Graham 🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Chips n hame game Had Clyde on the way to visit family there and this on the way home . Fuck me the mutants are hanging by a thread A draw or defeat before we play them and we keep winning it will be shark attacks and riots

Brett

Dessers upturn in form seems to coincide with him looking physically better. A poor pre season and Beales terrible fitness regime probably hindered Dessers more than we realised.

Graham McCallum

There might be some audience led singing. I will be there with my eldest son. Look forward to seeing you guys

Graham Jones

Not sure the transfers were as disastrous as some think. Sure Lammers didn’t fit, and Cifuentes hasn’t settled, into Scottish football, but they’ve been judged in a matter of months. In fact, they were judged in weeks. Butland, Danilo, Sterling and Dessers have worked, so as you said, we don’t expect them all to work. The management didn’t fit with them maybe, but the majority of transfers have settled in now. Saying Beale didn’t work as our manager is fine, but the transfers weren’t s bad as people thought. We have proof of that in how they’ve performed under Clement. The bigger at reason people weren’t as cynical in our 1-0 win at the weekend was because it matters. In the past it usually was a situation where we were not in a title race and we all knew it. This time the confidence in the players you talked about means that we understand it was a tough win. We do forget that there’s a generation who haven’t witnessed a title race too many times. They’re currently being introduced to that now, so it would make sense to talk them through this one when they get a bit tetchy about performance over result. All that mattered in Paisley was the three points.

Graeme Smith

After the game on Saturday, I said that we weren’t great to watch but nobody cares. Unlike at the start of the season when we were trying to get a gauge, from performances, of a trend. That means we are in a title race. And the nerves towards the end of the game is also a ‘good’ sign. We have 7 out of 11 at home before the split (St J, Killie, Dundee, Ross County away) - bang in it.

Gary Brown

Didn't look match fit or match sharp at the start of the season. Said so himself. As did Beale in pressers. Had a tough start! Fighting for minutes, swapping / pairing with Danilo, Lammers & even Roofe as the playing style / combos were altered looking for the right balance. Actually looked at his most natural in a two with Danilo v Servette & Livi or Roofe v that mhob (robbed of opening goal, kicked by a CB who then fell over, somehow = foul. Also fighting against the ghost of a mythical Columbian God who, apparently, scored in every minute of every game! Interesting that Beale criticised player fitness levels under Gio. All the soundbites out of pre-season camp continuously emphasised fitness was being vastly improved to cope with 3 games a week all season. Big Phil turns up and says none of them are fit enough!

Gary Brown

Thanks for the Flagship David & Ross.

Gary Brown

Agreed. Wins by a single goal in all games for the rest of the season and we win every trophy we're in! Doesn't need to be sexy or stylish, shouldn't expect it to be so. Win first, win with style later! The 'Twelfth Man' really needs to show bottle during the run in!

Gary Brown

That mhob aren't great. If we were looking at those OF games between the top two in Serie A we'd all be saying it was another match fixing scandal. We do not worry about them, look at them, listen to them or even think about them until a few days before the next OF at Ibrox. We concentrate 100% on supporting our team. Clement continously stresses 'not a teamworker = wont be playing'. So we as Twelfth Man need to do the same. Work hard for the team. Be prepared to play in 'unfamiliar positions' to help your team; positivity, faith, solidarity, belief (eg bin the scar tissue & 'ooh I've been hurt before, its all about me and my feelings!' stuff). Be an inspiration and motivation for your team mates. Let their 12th man be the worst player for their team.

Charlie Nicolson

A discussion on John Lundstram's exquisite balls.

Douglas Wright

Was at the game and have to disagree with the support, certainly around me. They were screaming blue murder and wanted most of the team sacked. Was really uncomfortable tbh. I agree with the pod that generally we are better as a support but didn't feel that in person on Saturday

Graham Roy

I get your point but Danilo does still have a question mark due to his injuries. And Dessers is only 1 bad game from being a dud. Generally speaking the summer transfers were poor and had we been facing Celtic last year the season would already be over!

Mo Young

Dont know if its a compliment or not but Ross sounds like Stevie from 4 lads🤣

Brett

That fitness point is a big one, Beale talking about poor fitness previously and I would argue we got worse under him. Glad Clement is taking control of that now I feel confident that we can last multiple 90 minutes each week and bringing in performances as well.

Alan Keegan

A good quality discussion, well done both.

Robbie McCarroll

I’m still not seeing a £5m striker in Dessers but has earned the right to prove the doubter in me wrong. For someone not blessed with pace or buffalo aggression he sure wins over a lot of turnovers in play almost every game wins balls up front off defenders he is a bit streetwise up top

Kev Roberts

Musicals definitely pish

Campbell Maclennan

Pleased to see Dessers scoring against the "weaker" teams. Still think he's not what we need as the last OF game showed. I'd be delighted to be proved wrong though..!!

Craig Fryatt

Missed last week’s flagship but a super show chaps
