Evening guys 🫡 do we think there is a chance we are working on a striker? Even a loan deal or do yous think Cortes will be the one and only?

Rona Bluebell

This is going to be a long night. Anyone using ‘Shankland’ in a drinking game?

Ian

Really disappointed no striker to be honest massive chance to go win the league but now left with 2 players up front who hardly score goals

Alan Weir

Can you not see a scenario where the likes of Cantwell, Cortes, Matondo, McCausland, Lawrence et al chip in goals leading to a successful season?

Billy Forrester

Pleased to get this lad but I’m a bit gutted we haven’t got a striker, even a cheap back up loan as I feel we may regret it if we don’t. Still time though so hopefully the club can see what we as the paying support see

David

Totally agree with everything you said, Cammy.

Billy Forrester

I’d even have took Van Veen for 6 months as back up, that’s how desperate we need a striker

Callum Dinnen

Are the people crying about a lack of a striker forgetting we signed Fabio Silva?

David

Gutted we never got a number 9. I believe this will be the difference between winning the league and Scottish cup or not. I hope I'm wrong through.

David Innes

My disappointment is only slightly tempered by the fact that we’ve kept hold of Yilmaz - got a feeling he’ll be a big player for us over the next few months.

Greg

Feels like a huge gamble not getting in another striker knowing our current record with injuries..club also had an absolute nightmare waiting till this time to announce cortes, killed any buzz for his signing.

Stephen Fraser

Appreciate all the striker chat - I'm 100% convinced the manager and board are well aware of what we need and it's not a case of ignoring it, I reckon it's more a case of targets being unavailable. Total faith in the manager and his ability to communicate the right messages to the board

This window had a 2022 feeling about it .. lots of promise pre window and didn't deliver much Read a few articles on shankland with regards stat's .. ball retention and turnovers etc not being great BUT the lad knows where the goal is domestically and he would score goals for us ... if he doesn't come the only silver lining would be at least he can score for hearts against the filth Big one for me was keeping big jack .. I honestly don't think he could have left at any price Let's hope these new lads can adapt quickly and can play on a cold wet night in Dundee

Brian Rae

We had to replace Sima's goals and add another clinical striker and I don't think we have. This is a massive gamble by the board. Imagine if we got to another Europa final and didn't have a recognised striker available. Danilo won't kick a ball for us until next season and Roofe is probably done. One thing is certain, we need to spend big on a main striker this summer.

Mr J K Murray

trust i am wrong, seems hamburger hill always, 1 or 2 players who can score, who cost monies, to get this system over the line instead of the unknown gamble, have to await with the new players, seen though how these players preform under pressure,

Rona Bluebell

I just keep seeing Dessers at the Parkhead game and how he failed in front of goal. I hope I’m wrong but this could bite us bad

Spoon

Our inability to scout and secure a striker fit for the Scottish game is an ongoing problem, the only prolific guy we had recently was Colak who was written off as limited based on far far too little time with us and during a barren period of chance creation from the Beale balls up system. We seem to be excellent at getting in keepers, decent with defenders, 50/50 with midfields but bereft of ideas middle to front. Ignoring the obvious local talent or being obsessed with foreign potential seems to be hamstringing us. There is as much likelihood our latest imports will be great as duff but these are gambles that if we were better at shopping domestically we could mitigate at least a bit. I’m convinced given the focus on injuries, games per season and the amount of players breaking in Scotland that our league demands a physicality that is probably best served with players who are used to the rigors, Cifu is the classic example of a very talented promising guy who just comes from a totally different football arena and can’t make it work. Time will tell but underwhelming business for me for the run in to the title, fair comment that these guys might come good next season or even that Silva shows why someone paid the big fee for him but it’s a risk and not sure one that was worth taking or even had to be taken. Let’s hope this becomes the Dessers season and the Nigerian Nightmare stuns everyone by just smashing goals for fun 👍🏻

Graham Jones

First of all, welcome to the club Oscar Cortes, but what is it with this board that they seem to drop the ball at the wrong moment. We needed a striker, and they got and let down the manager who has saved their skin this season. My concern is what he think s about them now and what the rest of the players are thinking, because we’re one injury away from a striking crisis. We can only hope and pray that Roofe makes a miraculous recovery and manages to stay fit till the summer, but we’ve been in this movie before. The current chairman and CEO were on the board two yeasts ago when they got it wrong, and they’ve done it again.

Kris

I’m so happy we have so many experts within our support 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Gary Brown

Agreed. Just have to look at the varied goal scorers we've had throughout the team. Particularly in Dec & Jan.

Billy Forrester

I think they just care and can see we needed another striker mate as we have a real shout at this title and don’t want to fail on the back of failing to get a striker in even as a back up

Kris

We all care, but on other platforms Rangers fans have became toxic towards each other, which in turn has made the stadium a far more hostile place towards the team on the pitch. (I have rarely missed a home game since 1983 and it has got far far worse in the last 15 years) this has not increased our chances winning games it has hindered us. All in the name of Fans Having a Wee Vent!

I think on Twitter in particular there’s a performance aspect to some of the rage. It’s like people try to outdo each other in who can be the most angry. It’s become very boring.
