It’s pretty common for the USA to be compared to the Roman Empire. The founding fathers really liked the Roman Republic. So I’d say that explains why it was mainly an American trend. For what it’s worth I think of Rome at least once a day.

Look on YouTube there are videos of people moving 20tonne blocks of stone by hand I’m pretty sure the pyramids that we see today, were looked at by the romans, that’s how long ago they were built. I’d suggest listening to the Your Dead To Me podcasts on BBC sounds good for the casual History buff. Just remembered Colin asked David if Napoleon’s story would make a good film 😀

Brilliant as ever, some spurious info in there for sure, but thats half the fun. The Giza pyramids have also fallen apart to an extent, they were once smooth, covered in polished limestone that has been stolen or lost to weathering. Adi and Rudi Dassler's feud is a good story. Rudolf hated Adolf as he was a fully paid up Nazi who got him conscripted during WW2 if I remember right. Andy for president!
