It felt to me growing up the 'dark arts', (cynical fouls, feigning injury, time wasting etc) was less prevalent and a bit more mythical. Now every other phase of play someone's trying to be a shithouse. It's why I'm not against the blue card concept; when people argue that it will make football unwatchable...lads, have you watched Livi or Aberdeen at Ibrox? It's about as fun as finding a recurring verruca. Jamie McGrath's arse was hitting the deck like he was playing musical chairs last week ffs. Bin VAR and bring in Sin Bins please!

On the backnof today's question about faking injuries, last season MLS2 trialed a mandatory 2mins on the sideline for players who go down either without a challenge or for challenges that don't result in a free kick. I'm sure the stats showed that this dropped the number of players faking injury from 6 per game to just over 1. Fifa have approved the rule change for any league that want to use it. I'm sure we'll see it adopted in Scotland in about 30 years.

Agree totally. He’s already an all-timer but by end of his career we’ll be talking about him as the GOAT. That said, I thought given the pressure on Purdy he acquitted himself brilliantly. I hope he’s back there soon because he seems like a very decent chap.

The freedom Purdy allows San Francisco in salary cap means they should have a shot at getting straight back before he has to get as they say "paid". Agree Mahomes is on the way to GOAT status. Especially in this salary cap era. His biggest thing will be how long Reid wants to coach as when Reid goes Spagnuolo goes and that'll be massive upheaval in KC

The song title from today's update got me thinking about an old indie song from the late 80's simply called 'Kansas'. I couldn't remember the band's name but I knew that I had seen it on Snub TV in the late 80's. Bit of Googling and the band's name is 'The Wolfgang Press'. However, now I'm down a Snub TV rabbit hole (covers UK indie/alternative scene from 1989-1991).
