Stevie Clifford met with Rangers Chief Financial Officer James Taylor to get an update on all aspects of the club's financial side and an update on the club's position after the recently published accounts.

Some questions we asked like NEH, income from Castore, were covered in general terms but the club felt those were questions for the club's Commercial executive officer Karim Virani and there may be a possibility to ask him directly in a similar interview in the coming months.

Likewise, wage bill and player contract questions were more for Director of Football Operations Creag Robertson, and again like Karim, the club may be able to facilitate that in the coming months.

Credit to Rangers, nothing was off the table financially and I was allowed to ask anything of James who was very receptive and I have an open invite to follow this meeting up again in the future.

Quite a coup for Stevie to get to speak with James who was really honest and forthright with his answers. It fits the boards objective of being open and transparent and it surely set some fans minds at rest with regard to our year on year finances and financial fair play. Thought Stevies questions were really good tbh. Our yearly revenue is increasing year on year and it will be interesting to see what the board and James do next year when our 5 year shirt deal with Castore comes to an end. It surely must be worth a lot more to the club than £20m over 5 seasons. I’ve spent nearly that much in the shop myself with all these kits they’ve released in the last 4 years. Seriously though Castore clearly won a watch sponsoring our great club and although we’ve had a few quality and supply complaints in the beginning they seem to have taken that onboard. Would be good to hear from other senior figures within the club in the future.

I'm in my 50s and I've bought loads of stuff which I'm not really into buying strips now. I never go to a game now without wearing the gear. I have to admit I love the Castore stuff. Both design and quality of products. You're right it should be worth more than £20 million and as long as the give us a better deal,I'm 100% behind Castore supplying kits beyond next year. I don't want the Adidas and Nike conveyor line shite.

Thanks Stevie. Great interview and it was very interesting to hear what James had to tell us. Hopefully you get a chat with Karim next. Good work, thanks again.

I feel we have the right board moving foward. Looks like they've reflected upon the Beale tenure as a lesson learned and by getting a manager with the calibre of Clement it finally feels we have a club where the off and on field are on the same page. Gerrard stopped multiple huge sales including Morelos and Kent. I feel confident that doesn't happen now. Great interview lads.

Haven’t had a chance to listen yet - I’d be amazed if we get anywhere close to £20m a season from a kit supplier though. Hope I’m wrong - just think we need wouldn’t have the volumes to justify it and we play in the spfl.

Great interview, and helps explain the nature of FFP rules that seem to dictate what they can do and when. We need sustainability but there should be some more wiggle room to accelerate growth. It would help if we hD a mechanism to invest in more capacity for the stadium without being hamstrung in our need to keep the improvement of the team at the same time. Hopefully we can get more of these on a regular basis, because they do break down a lot of misunderstanding between the supporters and the board .

Yeah you’re right Gregg apologies. It’s £20m over 5 seasons then presumably a percentage of shirt sales.
