Gers keep winning but should have scored a lot more! David reports.

"Souttar gets caught under it". That seems to be a recurring theme, David.

Dougie McAllister

I agree with everything you have said about where the team is now from where we were... i thought we played really well tonight.... we had 20 corners and none of them were dangerous... RC had one and it was more dangerous than our 20.... could you ask do we actually practice corners....

Billy Forrester

Totally agree David, our support can be ultra critical at times and I feel it’s not warranted whatsoever since Clement came in as he has been brilliant for us and we are getting better and slicker by the game. I thought Tom Lawrence was outstanding tonight and if we keep him fit he is gonna be huge in this title run in, he oozes quality

Thanks for the pre & post match pods, excellent synopsis of where the team are David. We're playing well but our attacking style of play is now slightly different since winter break. Creating plenty of chances. Next step is some fine tuning in converting more of them. Always going to be that way as they settle into the slightly different positioning and movements Post, couple off the bar, last ditch defending, GK played a blinder. As the manager says 'There is always an opponent'. Anyone complaining now would have surrendered the league in Sept anyway - a track record of being wrong! Can't be happy with where the team are now considering where they've come from its maybe time to do something else. Joint top, them only ahead on goals scored. The free gift of +8 from the sheep under Robson may have given that stat a slight skew! Robberies in both OFs too. Getting better game by game.

Every Corner in first half were inswingers and everyone in second half were outswinger apart from two I think short corners. Sorry to me that’s poor coaching. Ayr United and Ross County tonight also tried stuff from the training ground with their set pieces. We done the same swing it in. Delighted with the 3 points but please don’t be so obvious Rangers and mix things up for corners / set pieces. For their goal Connor was getting the jersey ripped right off him.

Did I miss the rule change where Silva goes into box with shirt clearly being pulled, Ross player continues to hold and ref awards nothing, rest assured VAR will inform ref and it will be a pen. Not in Scotland as no refs appear to raise offences against the big bad Rangers. Then chaos reigns with numerous cards flying around but cards for time wasting by visiting teams still remain exempt from punishment as per the clear SFA directive,

When you play right footed player on the left of the CB that's the risk you take IMO.

Jim Milne

I'm in 100% complete agreement with everything you said David. My only concern moving forward is they tonight proves why we needed to sign a No.9 in the transfer window.

Gary Brown

Ah! But, erm, you see, the shirt pull started about 5 yds outside the box and we can't check for penalties outside the box! Love & kisses - VAR What do you reckon mate? Something like that? Agree 100% with all you raised. VAR is only as good as the official viewing it. Our best officials are needed on the fields of play so what are we left with? Honestly its so incompetent it seems corrupt (probably is). We should have English, Welsh or Euro refs as our VAR, job can be done remotely, safer from inTIMidation too. Might not get or like every decision made. Mistakes may, probably will be made. But fans of all clubs, bar one, could feel more confident favouritism was not the biggest issue.

Excellent performance, best attacking output for a long time, great to see shots going in and the misses in tonight’s context don’t bother me at all. For me the only downside was Goldson again being bullied by a striker, could argue Ridvan could do better when ball comes in but ultimately we can’t lose it as a support when a team takes a chance and from County’s view it’s a great move. Take that from the team every week hands down.

Gregg

Think that’s a poor excuse to be honest - floundering again, it’s a pattern not a coincidence.

Scott Watson

Balogun is right footed and it doesn't seem to happen to him at LCB... Until he goes 20 or 30 games without it happening, the evidence suggests it's a pattern - and a costly one He has a lot of excellent attributes but this should be a real concern

Spoon

I think we needed another body as we are light on numbers there but I’m happy with the players we have and their current form. My hope is we might see Lovelace back and getting some game time as he looks a player.

Spoon

Don’t buy the narrative or that it’s an issue with him to be honest one CB normally goes for ball and the other covers. It’s not statistically likely you win every ball but the goal last night comes after three or four other players had a chance to do something and one of them was just out muscled. The ball he ‘lost out on’ didn’t go anywhere dangerous so can’t see how of all those involved he’s the point of failure. It’s the man Goldson is facing that runs and collects the ball all not Souttars, be as well blaming Silva for the slack pass. Every defender we have has elements to their game that isn’t perfect but he seems to attract flak others avoid. Souttar has been excellent to my mind, not perfect by any means but would be my first pick out of our options every week, the others seem to get passes for their mistakes while he gets labelled unfairly in my view.
