A good story is still a good story regardless of whether it’s told in film, theatre, tv, book or comic.

Simon

Same applies to cartoons. Some of the shows I watched with my kids when they were growing up are miles better than a lot of the shit on tv now. Regular show, adventure time, gravity falls all top tier tv.

Tookey

Any chance of Andy modelling Belgium’s new home strip for the Euro’s?

Jordan McKay

My dad was super into 2000AD. If you asked him who he preferred between Judge Dredd and Rangers he might struggle to give you an answer.

David Scott

Wizard of Oz 2 , Return to Oz is like a horror film , and White Chicks is superb 😎

Ray

Correct me if am m wrong but I can’t believe stand by me nor the lord of the flies made the list as great films, I’d even accept guilty pleasure territory

Robert White

Right. Ferris Buller is an 80s teen movie. Home PCs were unknown here. It was of it's time a classic. Not meant for auld fuds to watch now.

Gary Staff

I’m surprised more of the seventies “auteur” Movies such as Dog day afternoon, Serpico, Mean Streets or Taxi Driver didn’t appear on the list. Instead we get Commando and Rocky IV. 😄

Gary Brown

Thanks lads. Great show. Gave me plenty of laughs. Jack, you really must give Life of Brian a look.

Seumais Simpson

Apart from making no attempt at sticking to the brief, I am happy my two entries were well received.

Andy’s synopsis for Colin and Jack on Pete and the Dragon was like Barry Norman “it’s about a boy guy called Pete and hes got a dragon, bit of a ponce” honestly near had me in tears. I’d pay for that kind of film critique.

Paul Kerr

Cheers guys. Really good fun and we all love a bit of nostalgia. Andy taking me back to my childhood with the top loader. I was 7 or 8 when we got it. The first night's viewing was Poltergeist and I've hated clown dolls to this day. I didn't put a list in, I couldn't have picked a single film. I reckon each category would have taken an entire show on it's own.

Steven Harvey

The Last Podcast on the Left series on the JFK assassination is excellent btw. Funny as hell in parts but also serious and informative too. Well worth a listen.

I'm always late to the party with suggestions, but basically my brain is slow as fuck. Hidden gem: Land of Steady Habits. Eye bleeding torture: The Laundromat & The Flintstones movie. You could also have Requiem for a Dream, Amorros Perros and 21 Grams here. They're all fantastic films but you're not watching them more than once. Just grim.

Ecky G

There is a guy on our supporters bus that reads “comics” . Definitely one worth the watching.

Ross Guild

If you are needing some hidden gems (likely a couple arguable) The A Team film - non stop action, funny and well cast. Anytime it’s on, I’ll watch it. TRON: Legacy - absolutely tremendous and people might not like this, much better than the original. Gladiator - not the one you think. This is a boxing drama from 1992. Cuba Gooding Jr is in it, very good little seen film. Judgement Day - another staring CG jr. This is about a group try to get to a boxing event find their way into a rough neighbourhood and witness a murder. An excellent chase film. Sing Street - it’s not a musical. It is however a brilliant coming of age film that features 80s music. Manchester by the Sea - the saddest film ever made. Elite level acting.

Samuel Campbell

Apologies for not reading the original question correctly but the ultimate hidden gem is "the man from earth" it was a straight to tv film about an immortal man who moves about before anyone notices he doesn't age etc but his xo workers begin to question him. I also think you could do a show where you read some of the classic graphic novels , such as the crow, watchmen, arkham asylum and see if it can change your mind. The watchmen for one definitely stands up against any novel ever written

Phileas Fogg 55

A bit late but surely The Untouchables has to be up there. Amazing cast and great story line based on Al Capone.

Ray

Just fire them in as wild card picks. I reckon the general consensus would be positive.

Steven L

Fuck sake Colin 🤣🤣🤣

Gary Staff

Don’t know if this would qualify as a hidden gem, Children of Men is a very good movie, not one I hear mentioned a lot.

Corpse Reviver

EASTERN PROMISES. HIDDEN FUCKING GEM.

Corpse Reviver

Guilty pleasure. The education of Charlie Banks. I've obviously missed the cut off here. Full of drink.
