Heart and Hand's pop cultural yin and yang come together to battle it out to find the strongest musical Draft Card from 1991 as Gary Morris joins the two cool kids at the back of the bus, David Edgar and Ross Adair. Martyn is the host and judge as always as he looks for a male artist, female artist, band, album, single and video from one of the most seismic years in music history.

As with all drafts, Martyn wants historical significance rather than personal favourites and unique cards. Once Nevermind is taken, Nirvana and Smells Like Teen Spirit cannot be.

Will the boys stay close to their roots or will tactics play a part? Listen to find out and then vote later in the week.

Great listen lads. 91 was my coming of age year for music so lots of great memories. Lots of the music that year has stood the test of time and doesn't sound dated. I think that's because there was a revolt against the over produced, synth heavy 80s music and it was very "back to basics". So many tremendous albums.

I thought Metallica did a fair bit of damage to the hair metal genre with the Black Album, as well as Nirvana. I remember seeing The Fly for the first time on the ITV Chart Show and my mum recoiling in horror at it, given she listened to the Joshua Tree constantly. I thought it was the coolest thing I’d ever seen (at that point). Picked up the guitar for the first time in 1991 as well as getting my first CD player combined with starting High School. What a time to be alive!

I saw Vic reeves and Bob mortimer play the pavilion in Glasgow just before they got number one with the wonderstuff. They were taking the piss out of u2. Brilliant

Gary - Brian Adams, Ross - Unfinished Sympathy and David - Nevermind. Wish ‘The Breeders’ released something in 1991 for female singers. I always loved My Bloody Valentine spending $250,000 on the Loveless album because it was more than worth it. To conclude, Ross wins. 😀

Unfinished Sympathy is tune and a half. Blue Lines is just as good

Ice T....the mosse posse😀 Great show guys. On Buddy's Song, the TV series and books were good with Roger Daltrey playing the dad. Love the idea of the early REM covers band and no concessions policy 👌

Ross Adair

Still spreading the good word Leesy. Can take the boy out of Mossneuk and all that 😅
