David Edgar, Gary Morris and Ross Adair were this week's guests on Retro Drafts as they had to complete a music draft card from 1991 that:

- Captured the year as best as possible in terms of importance and impact, not necessarily their favourites from the time

- Was completely unique. Once Nevermind was chosen, Nirvana or Smells Like Teen Spirit couldn't be taken.

Have a listen to an excellent show here https://www.patreon.com/posts/retro-drafts-in-99542480?utm_medium=clipboard_copy&utm_source=copyLink&utm_campaign=postshare_creator&utm_content=join_link and make your vote count!

Ross … for Massive Attack alone

John Smith

It’s Gary aw day every day

Laura McCrimmon

Oh very tough choice, all doing choices were great and I love the massive attack song, top rune and reminds me of the Sharon stone movie sliver 😂🙈. For me though has to be David, top song choice one of my favourite, loved prince and that video is awesome and I actually love Cher 😂

John Smith

If Gary’s section had Nevermind and I touch myself it would’ve been god tier level

Chris Lees

Got to be Ross. Like the NME famously did at the time, picking bandwagonesque over nevermind for AOTY. And unfinished sympathy one of the best singles ever. Great show.

David Tod

Davy for Tom Petty.Although Prince and Cher were great shouts too.

Craig

Has to be Ross for Massive Attack and REM plus the video for Dizzy, really tough though as all had bands/artists I like

Andrew Lees

While in total agreement with David on U2 in the 90s, and a shared love of Mariah with Gary, Ross takes this one.

Heart and Hand

Honestly don’t think any of the 3 of us had a howler. Any outcome is a fair one.

Andrew Meldrum

Odd - I started uni 1990, so remember a lot of this through different lens from the boys on the show. Had a feeling that a few dates were out throughout. The James chat was certainly a year late. I saw them at the Barras late 1990, and the crowd were sitting down to sit down then. Good job no one picked it.

Martyn Ramsay

Sit Down originally came out in 1989 but a shorter version was re-released in 1991. Which David mentioned on the show as he toyed whether or not to attempt the technicality.
