I’m so glad you’re checking this out. It’s one of my favorite MCU shows in my opinion. As of now, it’s been two years since this series dropped. Emme, meet Iman Vellani from Ontario. This is her first acting role ever. She first heard about the auditions through her aunt. Iman originally didn’t want to become an actress, but she decided to take a chance and audition since she grew up reading the Ms. Marvel comics. She said she would save up her allowance to buy them from a local shop. In fact, she cosplayed as Ms. Marvel for Halloween a few years ago. She even got her grandma to sew the signature lightning bolt to her costume. On her last day of senior year, she got a call from casting director Sarah Halley Finn saying she needed her in a video chat. Next thing Iman knew, she was talking with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and the production crew for the show. Kevin himself said it was a unanimous decision. @6:21 I think you hit the dart on the target. The animations were loosely inspired by Into the Spider-Verse, and at the time we didn’t know the full extent of what we were in for with Across The Spider-Verse since that wouldn’t happen for another year. I forgot to mention: the guy in the post-credit scene is Agent Cleary from Spider-Man: No Way Home.

check out interviews with actress Iman Vellani when she got the role. You will find her to be a true fan of the Marvel world and very similar to her character

This show holds a special place for me. I grew up with Marvel comics and when I had kids I could not wait to get them into Marvel also. This was the first show that we could watch together and equally enjoy. It is not a kids show but I think it has more universal appeal and relatability than others. And to see their excitement each week and to experience that together was amazing. Also I think Kamala is the best post-endgame character introduced (although Yelena and Kate Bishop are close). Her and the actor playing her are just wonderful.

It's cool that you see so much of yourself in Kamala. For me, that's Bruno: nerdy, witty, a bit antisocial, and too smart to really fit in with his peers. That was exactly how I was at that age.
