LEMME GET MY POPCORN MY SHOW IS ONNNNN

Owen A

I recently learned that the real reason 10 says "I don't want to go" is because Moffat didn't want to change his last words on-screen

One little fun fact about this episode is that they showed it in cinemas simultaneously with it being shown on TV for the first time, and the cinema showing was in 3D, so you could actually see the depth in the 3D paintings.

When the tardis changed and the 10th doctor said “I don’t like it” that was what the 2nd doctor said in the 5 doctors all those years ago!

back in the sdhakspear episode queen elizabeth tild her gaurds to kill the docter this event in the wquerens timeline is before the shakespear episode

demonic-myst

they used do this alpoty for aniverrseriers their is one called the three docters its the first apearence of the zygon aswell this episode is referencing it

Lee Gannon

There are a couple of references to the airing of the first episode. The clock at the beginning being 5:16 was the time the first episode aired and the coordinates Clara used 1716231163 is a reference to the time and date the first episode aired.

Lee Gannon

The pictures on the wall were pictures of the Doctor's former companions. The one Clara looks closely at is the Doctor's granddaughter Susan. And I. Chesterton on the school sign was a reference to the first Doctor companion Ian Chesterton while the headmaster's name W. Coburn comes from the first stories writer and director: Anthony Coburn and Waris Hussein respectively.

I saw this in a crowded cinema and Tom Baker as the Curator appeared the audience went nuts.

Rose Gwin

The curator is played by Tom baker Who was the fourth doctor in classic who It’s not explained who he is supposed to be. There are a lot of theories but as far as I know nothing has been confirmed. And not everything in dr who needs to be explained It’s just a nice nod to classic who

BriefMortal

Did you catch that this is why older Queen Elizabeth is mad at him in Shakespeare Code? He married her and then ran away 🤣

I've been waiting for this reaction for a long time, keeping tight lipped not even want to say that i was looking forward to it as not to build it up & let you go in cold & i was not dissapointed, great reaction Emme Glad you enjoyed it so much, I saw it in the cinema with some friends, the show being such a huge party of Britiah pop culture, the 50th special was an event for so many who had enjoyed it throughout the decades & generations, my dad started watching in the 60s when he was about 7 & i started in 05 at 16 & we are still watching into our late 60's & 30's

I love that the doctor is SO SMART that not even one of the three tried pushing open the jail door because they all assumed it was locked , so funny

If you look closely, when the War Doctor regenerates you get a split-second scene of his face morphing into Christopher Eccleston's.

The curator is Tom Baker, who played the 4th doctor. He is pretty widely considered the most popular doctor ever amongst older fans, certainly the most recognisable due to his length in the role and how popular his doctor was. I remember first watching this with my Dad and I'd never seen him as excited as when he appeared in this episode!

emmereacts

thank you!!!! it's honestly a great feeling to reach these big moments and not have been spoiled but still be able to enjoy it with all of you when i do.

emmereacts

emmereacts

emmereacts

"Was I supposed to giggle?" she says No, you were supposed to cry.
