I’ve waited so long to watch you react to this episode!!

You mess the part when it says 13 doctors😂😂😭

I cannot BELIEVE you weren’t spoiled! That’s awesome!! For anyone around at the time, we were spoiled obviously because the promotion was insane. When I saw this the first time, I was in absolute shambles the whole time. Crying from the moment David Tennant went on screen, just like you. And the “I don’t want to go” line was MEAN. I think it was meant to be a stab in the heart for us and the writers were having fun. But in another sense, I like that they preserved his last words. "The Curator" was indeed the 4th doctor. It's cool you got it. I hadn't watched classic who the first time and I definitely didn't understand what they were talking about lol. I agree that this was just a phenomenal piece of television. Yes, there was plenty of fan service and yes, it really hits all the nostalgia buttons. But when I saw it in theaters back in 2013, I was in college and didn't know anyone who watched it so my friend volunteered to go with me just for fun. She enjoyed it a lot and had only seen an episode or two of the show in passing. So it's just good TV. From the cinematography to the story. RIP to John Hurt. He was an amazing Doctor. Excited to rewatch an adventure in space and time. It makes no difference when you watch it so don't worry about that.

Introducing the attack eyebrows

Ooh you missed the most shocking cameo! When the general says "all 12 of them", a voice says "No sir...all 13!", we zoom in to what looks like 11's Tardis console and get a shot of a hand pulling a lever and then a close up face with some pretty significant eyebrows.... Love this episode, remember as a teen going to see it in the cinema in 3D when it aired. Incredible experience, complete with Strax doing the mobile phone etiquette bit at the start!

Attack Eyebrows!! Watching this "live" was a trip, but yes...David Tennant and Billie Piper being in it was spoiled by the BBC well before the episode aired, as the BBC is want to do. However, there was ONE Doctor that was not spoiled, and I was the perfect mirror of that Leo DiCaprio meme of him pointing at the TV when I heard the commanding and unmistakable voice of MY Doctor, Tom Baker, the 4th. He's the one I grew up watching on PBS on Saturday nights as a kid, and he'll always be my number 1 (you haven't met my number 2 yet and they are very closely matched...). And no matter how many times I watch that scene, I get misty-eyed. And I completely agree with you, even if this were a normal episode without all the cameos it's still a very solid story. Everything else just elevates it up to 11. And while there have been multi-Doctor stories in the past, I don't think they were as fun and well written as this one.

In the opening scene here we see the I.M. Foreman Scrap Yard sign, and the Coal Hill School(where Clara teaches). The first scene ever of Doctor Who in 1963 takes place in the Coal Hill School, and we meet student Susan "Foreman". Her teachers track her address to the I.M. Foreman Scrap yard where we first see the T.A.R.D.I.S. and meet her Grandfather, The Doctor. And Susan's picture does appear in this episode as pointed out.

Sometimes I wish I could watch this show blind like you can, we knew DT would be in it beforehand, in fact Matt and David appeared on a chat show promoting the show lol It was still amazing when watching it obviously but we didn't get the moment you got when he appears with the queen! And yeah the I don't want to go was not nice lol Your reaction of pointing at the screen going 'NO!' is fully valid! lol The cameo at the end is an old Doctor, the one who I watched growing up, that one was a surprise! And when I heard his voice off camera I lost my sh*t! at the time lol But yes really is an exceptional episode. The scenes they all got to do together were magnificent.

To be fair it’s quite easy to miss Only a few seconds I missed it the first time I watched it and took a me a few rewatches to realise But when you realise mind blown 🤯

Rach

I think because the 9 clip plays immediately before as well - it's distracting

!!!!! so exciting! wooo this episode is amazing, i love it soooo much! i’ve been waiting for you to reach this episode for like ever! it’s so great no one spoiled anything for you! also when the war doctor regenerates he becomes the doctor before david tennant (9th) my 2 favorite doctors together! the interactions between them are so fun to watch, and shows how they’re all the same person and how they’re different and have changed, like how 10 and 11 can finish each other’s sentences and will do the same thing at the same time but also have different things going on in their mind and mannerisms and style and stuff but also it’s interesting that 11 says he doesn’t know how many children there were. he like looks up and down and also the way he says it, so i always wondered if it was him lying to himself (literally) or if he truly didn’t know anymore. 10 is regretful and angry over what he did, and i guess 11 is more in denial and frustration of what he did while also having a bit more acceptance of the past. which i think we see that in their doctors through the seasons. and back in s1 when 9 talked about what he did he seemed more deeply sad and devastated about it as it literally just happened for 9. the doctors kind of slowly experienced the 5 stages of grief. and all of them are sad and desperately want to change it if they had the chance, if there were a third option which they finally get!

one thing I might say if emme or any of her editors are reading comments. make sure the version of adventure in space and time you use is for the 50th anniversary. there is a modified versionn, a re-release for the 60th and it has spoilers for stuff you don't know yet. (assuming it's not too late)

emmereacts

i have watched it already but tbh it was hard to get my hands on a copy at all, i think bbc only has the 60th anniversary. luckily the only spoiler i picked up on at least was the current doctor, but i honestly knew about him anyways

emmereacts

OHH okay he becomes the ninth doctor!!! how interesting. i know, that moment about the children was super telling and fascinating about the eleventh doctor. id assume just because of his character that he was in denial, and i do like your connection with the 5 stages of grief

emmereacts

i know!! whenever there's a new doctor/companion/something special like this i am grateful that im watching doctor who now years later since i get to have those surprises. it was all so good!

emmereacts

awww seeing tom baker mustve been such a great surprise!!!

emmereacts

i know i feel so lucky i wasn't spoiled!! im glad you enjoyed this as much as i did!

Rion Edmonds

tom was basically like Tennant for classic who in the sense of being the doctor that everyone knew, even if hadn't seen the show. pretty sure he's one of if not the longest running doctors as well. 7 or so years if I recall.

Drake

you missed the craziest scene when they said "not all 12 all 13" and showed the 13th doctor xD also the wardoctor turns into the 9th doctor from season 1
