The first time around when I watched this episode I was shocked but I was mostly okay. THIS time idk what it was but I CRIED dude lol, maybe it hits harder when you're older

All the doctors are good at anger but Capaldi's anger hits hard lol Those two parts in the house where he's fuming at Me are intense, the part especially after the Raven, the fury in his eyes well god dam, Ashilda you BEST stay out of his way lol Clara's end quite similar to Danny's in they both go in an instant and way too young. It makes her whole arc really interesting. From the impossible girl to struggling with the regenerated Doctor, to Danny's death and her never dealing with it meaning her increasingly risky behaviour and trying to basically become the Doctor, leading her to now, one risk too many, it's a hell of a character arc. It's a very said, tearful episode :(

This week marks 10 years since this episode first aired. Wild.

There’s definitely that initial shock when you see it the first time around. Once you know what’s coming, you can really sit in that moment with the Doctor and Clara and really feel the emotions being displayed on screen. Seriously powerful writing, acting, and directing, let down mostly by that damned 45 minute runtime constraint. If that moment had a little more time to breathe, I think the initial shock could have been cushioned a bit more for that first viewing, but goddamn does this episode reward a rewatch!

similar to what ash said i find myself to be the same. it's really rare that i cry at things first go but i find if i watch others watch or go through it (like if im watching a video game) it hits harder because you can catch all the little things leading up to it that make a goodbye even harder.
