In Silence in the Library River tells the 10th Doctor how the last time they meet he showed up in a new suit and new haircut and they went to the Singing Towers and that he gave her the screwdriver. It's a nice touch here that you even see the Doctor scan River so her print is uploaded to the screwdriver. Love this episode, a lot fun fun with a good sad/happy ending. I've always thought this episode would have made a good ending for the show although glad it didn't.

This really feels like justice for River's character. Her end with Matt Smith was good but it felt kind of shoehorned in since Matt was about to leave and her character was still out there as a loose end. An adventure featuring her alone and a sweet and sad farewell scene feels like it honors her character properly. If you do go back to watch River chronologically down the road as you mentioned, you'd be surprised just how much they stick to every little comment made in the first River two-parter in the library. In this episode especially but all along the way as well.

Can see people have already mentioned silence in the library, but yeah already a brilliant two parter that now has even more layers because you experience everything mentioned in those episodes, it's soooo good how every little detail she mentions is shown, what a character and character arc ...there will always be a song....chefs kiss. Also just as an episode on it's own this is so much fun, Peter's Doctor's dynamic with River is excellent, and all worth it just for him to finally get his bigger on the inside moment lmao.

I’m cackling, yes that is the exact same set where Clara faced the raven just redressed with fake snow 😂😂😂 great catch on a first time viewing! It’s a very “Viggo broke his toe” moment for us fans

Also, if you grew up with the Disney Channel Original Movies, Ramone is played by the same guy who played Proto Zoa from the Zenon movies

D Scott Howard

And another classic "Matt" joins the Whoniverse! Welcome Matt Lucas all the way from "Little Britain".

remember a timelord can normaly only regenerate 11 times so he has 12 faces, matt smith got an extra 11 at his end from the timelords trough the rift

Drake

one of the best, the only episode i own
