I remember finishing this two-parter, going to check what people had to say about it...and finding nothing but negativity. At that point I knew half the fandom doesn't even like the show anymore, and enter every episode with a negative view - so of course they don't like it, when they've decided what to think before watching. Don't get me wrong, this era was a bit up and down, but some people seemed to only focus on the "down", and never on the "up". I think you phrased it well in one of last season's episodes when you said that while the season was a bit up and down, it was still Doctor Who, and you still liked Doctor Who. I honestly feel like a lot of people in the fandom just don't like Doctor Who anymore, and they've been drowning out any positivity about the show since 2018. It's refreshing to see someone react to this era with an open mind, so thank you for that.

"contact" as a way Time Lords can connect mentally with one another: yes, that's a thing from classic Doctor Who Noor Inayat Khan and Ada Lovelace and George Babbage are all real historical figures.
