I never caught that Angel might want to make Buffy jealous when leaving the library with Cordelia, I'm slow. We saw Angel's home in season one, it's a basement apartment. We saw it first in the episode Angel when Darla visits him and then in the last episode when Xander fetch him to help save Buffy.

BtVS achievement progress: 9.7% Monster of the week - 6 Cordy is a national treasure - 7 Vandalism - 6 Xander is kinda an Ahole - 4 Calendiles - 1 The 224 year elephant in the room - 2 Nonhuman deaths - 2 (41)

Depending on how you're watching it, the version you are watching is probably a lot brighter than original broadcast. I think there also would be the impact of CRTs having those true blacks, and I think these "HD Remasters" pushed up all the dark zones making things in shadow be completely in dark and gently illuminated things have a spotlight.
