whispering “so, you’re back” is like me seeing the snowcone man for the first time after 2 weeks of not seeing them. i think this was a good character development episode. like yeah it’s gonna take time for things to adjust, but idk we’ll see.

Giles is one of best characters in the BuffyVerse: it’s great to see bits of his backstory, and how at times the old “Ripper” comes out, like when he was beating up Ethan Rayne in the Halloween episode. It also feels insane to me, that I am roughly the same age as Anthony Head was, at the start of ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’: all the jokes about how he’s so old hit a lot closer to home than they used to haha. Back when I was a teenager, Giles seemed ancient to me: but as I’ve got older, I find him much more relatable haha. Though I try to avoid being an old fogey, as the kids say- or at least they used to say: whenever I find myself even starting to complain, about anything young people are doing, I mentally slap myself in the face several times, until the desire to lament the ills of modern youth have passed haha. Ethan is a great guest character on the show: he’s so despicable, but he’s also very funny, in a kind of pathetic, sarcastic way And it’s always funny watching Giles or Buffy beat him up: and he always deserves it haha. Season 2 of Buffy really starts to kick into gear, over the course of the next few episodes: there’s some great ones coming up, that I can’t wait for you to get to. Also, if you’re interested, there are a couple of fantastic Buffy video games, from the early 2000s, that you might fancy playing: I’m not sure how hard they’ll be to get these days, or if you’ll be able to find them for a reasonable price. But they are well worth a look, if you can get them. The first one was just called ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’, & it was only available for the original X-Box: while the second one, was called ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds’, and was released on X-Box, PS2 and even the GameCube. But even if you do find them, you might have to hold off playing them for a while: the first one is set during the 3rd season, while the second game, ‘Chaos Bleeds’, is set during the 5th season. So if you do fancy giving them a go, you’ve got a good bit of time to have a look for them, before you’re caught up enough to play them haha. They’re really great games, from what I remember: though it’s been about 20 years since I played them, so I may be remembering them through rose-tinted glasses haha. I’m glad you had a lot of fun with this episode: I also love how much you enjoy Cordelia being…well, Cordelia haha. She’s another fantastic character, but then the show is full of them. 🙂 Also, you made a good point, about how the plots in Buffy, are often something like: woman seduces man…AAARRRRGGHHH WOMAN’S A MONSTER haha. Obviously numerous different people write for Buffy: but now that we know the messed up truth, about scumfuck Joss Whedon; it’s probably not surprising, that these views about women, are present in the show HE created. It’s certainly a hell of a coincidence haha. But, great video as always, Emme: I can’t wait for the next one. I hope you’ve had a good week, and that you have a nice, relaxing weekend. xx

As a former Librarian I can confirm all good libraries have (had?) cages! At my uni they were to keep high value/rare items, we didn't often lock zombies in them! Really enjoying your vids Emme!
