The idea behind a book cage in a library is that it gives students an after hours way to return the books they've borrowed. Books are placed through a mail slot type situation and stay safely locked on the other side until the librarian has a chance to put them back out on the library floor. Also makes a convenient, if not necessarily structurally sound, place to temporarily store your demon-zombies.

Oh Eme.... the reason so many plots in Buffy revolve around women seducing men only to turn out to be monsters can be summed up in two words: Joss and Whedon. Or as he is also known nowadays: Tox Weasel. Don't get me wrong, without him there would be no Buffy that's a fact. But it's also a fact that he's a huge douchebag. On a more positive note though, again with the legendary Eme sharpness! Good job on deducing that Ethan was going to be involved in this episode so early into it. We are now settling into season 2 and I'm sure you are already noticing how much deeper than season 1 this rabbit hole goes =)
