This was so wild at the time as well cause no one knew of the bigeneration so when 14 gets shot with the laser it's like oh god no not again I can't take this! lol But then like you say it's an incredibly upbeat ending and definitely happiest regeneration ever! Also the hug between 14 and 15, and like the talk to himself in the Tardis was really sweet, a moment he definitely needed! Neil Patrick Harris was outstanding in this, just excellent, the spice girls scene is legendary lol But yeah all the specials were fantastic and what a way to introduce Ncuti! I'm such a big fan of the specials, just excellent Doctor Who. I hadn't seen sex education so this was my first Ncuti experience, and he had me at 'You win a prize honey' lol

Neil Patrick Harris is the second Spider-Man actor to have been in Doctor Who after Andrew Garfield.

We first met Melanie Bush recently in the support group. She was companion with the 6th Doctor, 1st appearing during the chaotic season arc, "Trial of A Time Lord", with no back story or introduction. She replaced Peri, who we later found out had left and married the warrior king Yrcanos(played wonderfully by Brian Blessed). Mel stayed with the 7th Doctor after regeneration, then she left to run off with a jolly rogue/scoundrel named Sabalom Glitz, who she mentions died at 101. Mel also suggested that Ace would be a good traveling partner, giving us the template for the modern companion.

Yes, John Logie Baird is real. From wikipedia: "John Logie Baird (13 August 1888 – 14 June 1946) was a Scottish inventor, electrical engineer and innovator who demonstrated the world's first mechanical television system on 26 January 1926. He went on to invent the first publicly demonstrated colour television system and the first viable purely electronic colour television picture tube."
