i really like when you watch an old show like Buffy, you get the ideas of wait this would be from (name of current tv show and/or movie LMAOO like wait a minutttte 🤣 larry coming out and admitting that he’s gay like the whole crowd cheered! ig from the moment words were being spoken like that’s cool larry is gay, but stop doing what you’re doing!! lmao. willow has honestly moved up from my list of GOATs lmaoo she’s such an icon. really enjoyed this batch of episodes, definitely this idea was a good one eme. also idk why i did a dance, but not a victory one.. more like oh no it’s gonna get bad, oh oh it’s gonna get bad LMAOO can’t wait for the next set of Buffy episodes! 🤠

Season 2 definitely leans into the romance theme; especially raging horny teenage romance, though we also have a bit of old fogey romance/horniness as well, with Giles & Jenny, and even Joyce & creepy RoboTed- and at 42, I’m a bit of an old fogey myself, so it’s ok for me to say it about them haha. Particularly now that I’m roughly the same age as Anthony Stewart Head was at the start of the series 1: somehow, even simply acknowledging that fact, makes me feel I’m about 30 seconds away from turning to dust haha. But enough about my ageing carcass haha. Even though I miss the old way you used to do it, I really enjoyed this new format: I often wait for a series to end, or at least for each season to finish, before I watch a show. Then I tend to fly through it at breakneck speed; usually within a couple of days, depending on the number of episodes, but sometimes in the same day, depending on how addicted I get to the show haha. I’m sure someone’s probably already mentioned it before now, but you were absolutely right, when you said you thought you recognised the actor that played the Judge: his name is Brian Thompson, and he played the vampire Luke in the very first 2 episodes (a 2 parter) of the show. Brian Thompson often pops up in shows or movies; I wouldn’t say he’s got an awful lot of range, as an actor, but he’s been tons of stuff, such as: ‘The X-Files’. ‘Charmed’, a couple of ‘Star Trek’ shows, etc. He was also in the sequel to the original ‘Mortal Kombat’ movie- ‘Mortal Kombat Annihilation’ where he played Shao Kahn: if you haven’t seen it, I wouldn’t go say that I’d recommend it, but at the same time, it’s hilariously bad, and it’s actually probably worth a watch, due to how awful it is haha. On the actor front, the guy that played Jenny’s uncle, was also in the film ‘Ghost’: not sure if you’ve seen it, or if you plan on watching it, so I won’t go into details about who he plays- I don’t like spoilers haha. I’m glad you noticed the difference in how David Boreanez played Good Angel and Bad Angel; I don’t think he gets enough credit for the transformation, with everything about him becoming incredibly creepy & just wrong haha. I always feel so sorry Buffy after Angel turns, & how she blames herself; and then Giles proves once again, that he has become a surrogate father to her, with what he says to her in the car. Willow & Oz are just so stinking cute together; I just love how their relationship ship slowly develops over the season, and how it’s sort of the opposite to whatever the hell Cordelia and Xander have got going on- though the way Cordy stood up to her snobby popular friends at the end of episode 16, & left with Xander, was a lovely genuine moment between them. Willow and Cordelia are 2 of the best characters in the show, & it’s weird how Xander often deserves to have neither of them in his life haha. I get how Xander being an insert character, representing Joss Whedon, makes parts of the show uncomfortable: back when it originally aired, we obviously had no idea what a scumfuck Joss Whedon was, so it didn’t feel as icky as it does now. Knowing what we know now, about the creator of the show, does put an uncomfortable & very gross spin on the events of episode 16: I can still laugh and enjoy it, like I used to, but only if I try really, really hard not to think about that creepy bastard Joss Whedon. Obviously that’s much harder for the newer viewers; you come to it with all of the background info, that we were unaware of, back in the 90s, which naturally makes it all far more horrifying. Even though that episode wasn’t written by Whedon himself, you still wonder how much input he had on it; and if had zero to do with the writing, Xander being an insert character for him, is what makes it really creepy. But I try not to let Whedon’s onscreen avatar spoil my enjoyment of it; many other great people were involved in the making of that episode, & their work shouldn’t be tainted by the scumfuck creator. I loved the bit when Drusilla also fell under the spell, and fought off Angel for Xander; it shows how badass Dru really is, when even Evil Angel didn’t want to mess with her haha. There’s probably loads of other things I wanted to mention, but I can’t remember them; the one drawback, of this new episode marathon format, is that my memory is terrible, so I end up forgetting a lot of the things I wanted to highlight- the perils of being old haha. I can’t wait for the next Buffy Marathon- a Buffyathon, if you will haha. The finales of Buffy seasons are always jam packed with shit to talk about; I think I’m going to have to make notes, at the end of each episode, so I don’t forget what I want to say in my comment/s haha. This new format, for Buffy, is definitely a hit-despite my memory issues, which are my problem not yours: I hope it’s made things easier for you, and less stressful, not having to worry about editing down your Buffy reactions every week. It also means you can watch more episodes a week, which is definitely a win for me. 🙂 Hope you’ve had a great week, and that you have a lovely weekend too. 👍😀 All the best. xx

Liking the new format! Since there are so many episodes during a season, I kind of like having them grouped in batches.

glad to hear you like the new format! yeah i imagine its a lot easier to watch and put that stuff about joss whedon out of your mind when you first watched that way, i know i have some things in my own life that are similar to that. i try my best but sometimes in episodes like these its just hard to push out of my mind completely!
