wow, the last episode of doctor who (currently)!

i cant believe it!!!

1st of the Omega is even worse when you know his classic background as in the classic series he was not a monster the time lords banished he was tragic character who only became a bad guy because he was by accident lost in another universe alone for thousands of years. regarding the regeneration it is clear that it was a re-shot that was mad eat the last minuet as first a publicity photo was released showing the doctor and Belinda in a night club and reports that originally we saw the doctors grand daughter had poppy. Given how late it was made and the canceled 2026 special I don’t think even the producers knew what was going on at the end.

Yeah think a few people have mentioned it but obviously the ending wasn't the original ending. The og ending was they defeat everyone and they party and the doctors granddaughter looks on as to suggest that is a main theme that gets explored next season, and there was a next season, they had already started writing S3.... No official word on the sudden Ncuti departure and why it happened, but once it was decided they needed a new ending and the reshoots took place about three months before the shows air date! At the time with no confirmed future they had to write a new ending with no actual idea of when the show -or if- it would come back so they were kinda stuck by that point. It's such a shame, Ncuti was fantastic as the doctor, and another season of him and Belinda would have been brilliant. There were plenty of really good episodes in this era and I think it is harshly judged, admittedly both finales aren't the best but there's still loads to like about Ncuti's run, I really wish they did the third year :/

the acting from the actor who plays Ruby during that whole poppy memory scene absolutely floors me, so brilliantly played Also 13!!!!! I wish they both had better scripts because they make amazing doctors What an insane journey it's been, I do so wish that they didnt pull that Billie Piper stunt at the end, it was an attention grab from RTD to try and secure another series but now it's left the show at a standstill cause how do you pick up from there?

IInterestingly, today RTD released his memoir. In it, he explains that Billie Piper was super last minute with the regeneration, originally being open-ended. There is also some info on what was planned for series 16/season 3. Apparently 3 episodes were fully written A Great Fire of London story by Laurence Clark and Jack Thorne. A Brutal NASA Space Station Story by Lydia Adetunji. A episode set in a Manchester Council Estate by Sharma Angel-Walfall. There where also planning for a 4 part Dalek story and a return of Rogue.

As with most of the new new who you need a full season to tell a proper story. Thats all that was missing. Just imagine 13 episodes of the exact same stories but with just a little bit of development. it would be great but here we are with stories forced in less than half the time and wonder why it feels incomplete -_-
