Actually prefer this show over the comic. Garth Ennis I enjoy alot of his work like Preacher, Punisher run, Judge Dredd run, Hitman, and Hellblazer to name a few. But the Boys is very low on that list with the comic being filled with edge, sex, drugs, and gore for the sake of being shocking. The show on the other hand does a much better job at highlighting the characters and making you feel attached to them while also still being shocking but not for the sake of it. But I know there's people who really like the comics so it depends, Everyone else I mentioned above is just miles better than The Boys comics in terms of actually writing and character depth. Also Garth Ennis is not really a "Superhero" fan in that he doesn't care for the characters as he grow up in Northern Ireland in the 70s and 80s so he was exposed to more British comic books like 2000AD and with the Troubles going on in Northern Ireland he was more interested to gritty and mature comics focused around conflict and war along with fighting the power. So the idea of the American Superhero was never something he was interested in or really cared about. He likes the more grounded characters like Punisher and his Hitman comics are set in the DC Universe along with Hellblazer. Superman is also a character he funny enough likes but that's where it ends. Peacemaker is another example from DC and I'm pretty sure he's written a Peacemaker comic as well. On a final note Garth Ennis loves this show so that's really good and fun that he was allowed to come in and help with anything and even saw like 8 episode early before everyone else.

Nothing beats just how shocking this first episode is it’s wild 😂

I’m kinda surprised you’re watching this 😂 it’s a great show, but really gets gross. Prepare yourself

I don't want spoiler anything but this show can be summarized as Americans always see themselve as superman but the rest of the world only see them as homelander

Boom Desjardins

You'll soon see that Homelander is one of the best TV characters of the decade.

Nice blanket statement that discounts a lot of Americans that hate the way our government treats the world and our own citizens.

I have watched all of this show so far but there's been a few bits I have needed to fast forward through 😂 This is a dark dark show, with some fun characters. I hope you enjoy!

I am SO excited that you’re watching this. It just gets better every season!!

love that you are reacting to this! Most of the supes are satirical takes on known superheroes like superman (homelander) wonder woman (queen maeve) aquaman (the deep) and the list goes on.. looking forward to seeing your reactions^^
