I'll be shooting for CBS in Alabama tomorrow and there's a possibility  herpetologist (Dr. Dave Steen) can join me for a quick interview in that classic "meet me in a budget hotel lobby also I'm sorry this is weird" way ala thanatology.

Got any snake questions for him?

So this is the episode that reeled me in. First because I thought it said “Hepatology” (for which I am a physician assistant for!). But then when I realized what it was actually about I got even more excited as I have ALWAYS wanted a pet snake but the BF would never approve. Well that was about three months ago and I have binged almost the entire catalog. I have no idea why it took me so long to become a patron but I am convinced you are my soul sister. I hear myself in you and vice versa. And gosh dang it, I just wanna be ya frand!

Also PS if you ever need someone working in hepatology.... holla at ya girl.

Are snakes just getting a bad rap, i.e. The Garden of Eden? Or are they really a bunch of sneaky dicks?

There was a recent project to re-introduce the highly threatened indigo snake back into Alabama where it has been extinct since the 1950's. Some claim the wrong subspecies was re-introduced. Given your work on the long leaf pine Forests and the gopher tortoise, on which the indigo snake depends, what are your thoughts on this project? What can we do to keep this beautiful animal from extinction?

Living in Australia we have many deadly snakes. I know when you see one you need to stand still. However, I hear that the tiger snake is aggressive, should I stand still or poo my pants and run if I come across one of these bad boys?

Have you ever been to Snake Island?

So that scene in Planet Earth 2 with the snakes and the chasing and the little lizard going “omg wtf,” have you seen anything like that in the field? Or, say, the lobby of a budget hotel in Alabama? Asking for no reason whatsoever.

Do pet snakes emotionally bond with their owners? What kind of emotional range do snakes have?
