FTQA: in the early 80s, I almost died from Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome, that doctors suspected was caused by food poisoning from a fast food restaurant. From what my parents have told me, there were several outbreaks throughout the southern US around the same time that lead to several other children getting HUS, but they weren't as lucky. No matter what time I stop consuming liquids, I have to pee at minimum once per night. My doctors have told me before my bladder fills really slow, so I only pee like 1-3 times a day usually, and when I have ultrasounds I drink tons of water the night before and day of, don’t pee, and my bladder usually still isn’t full! Sort of a heavy question/loaded topic but: what is the actual science of the circumcision debate? Is it actually "healthier" or "more sanitary" or is that not true? I know that it is a religious practice in some cultures, but how and why did circumcision become so common as i guess a "secular" medical practice? For example, my brother was circumcised but we're not a religious family, our pediatrician just told us it was "better for preventing infections/UTIs." First time question asker: Why does (mild) stress illicit an urge to urinate, even when I've just been? For example when I'm about to go to sleep (which is a stressor for me) or when embarking on a long car trip. I'd say that stress should help me not get the urge because that makes me, pants-down, vulnerable. But it seems to be the opposite. I guess mild stress does not count as fight/flight trigger, but why become more vulnerable in the urge to pee sense when that's the last thing you need?

62 year old Male here, I take a 0.4 MG dose of tamsulosin (flomax) morning and night. It helps, but it is by no means a max flo! A more appropriate name would be flobetta. Why are people (most people with vaginas, even though like... everybody has a pelvic floor) taught to do Kegels just by squeezing, but not doing a full range of motion including fully trying to reach the "second diaphragm" down? Basically all other muscles we have to strengthen by doing fully ranges of motion, just contracting/contracting and releasing usually creates strength imbalances. For context, I ask this from the standpoint of a professional bodyworker/massage therapist who does a LOT of specific work with the pelvis, movement teacher, former sex educator, person who does strength training, and person interested in possible future birthwork. Also as someone with a vagina that holds tension, as do many of us do, that contribute to my chronic hip and low back pain.

If you (like me) experience chronic UTI's triggered by all of life's most enjoyable activities - travel, sex, alcohol, a sweaty workout - try a D-Mannose supplement!! I cannot recommend it enough - this has changed my life and saved me COUNTLESS trips to Urgent Care for antibiotics. I used to get 6-8 serious UTI's per year, now I rarely get a single one.
