Unity Security Vulnerability Patched! Baldi's Basics Plus version 0.12 Pre-release is available now! (Patreon)

This pre-release is no longer available for download. Thank you for your feedback!

Update 2: A hotfix addressing a Unity security vulnerability has just released.

Just updating this post to let you all know that I've patched the Windows and MacOS versions of the pre-release to fix the recently discovered Unity security vulnerability. This was primarily for Steam users who likely still have the pre-release installed, but I figured I should post the patched builds here as well. Please update the game as soon as you can! The Linux version has not been updated as Unity has not provided a patcher for Linux builds as they have determined that the vulnerability does not add additional risk to Linux users. The versions with "_patched" in the file name contain the fix. The other versions do not, so please take caution and ensure your operating system and anti-virus is up to date before downloading them. For more info, please read this post.

Please take caution if you play older pre-releases, as they will not receive the fix!

Update: Hey everyone, there were some nasty bugs in the first pre-release (Mainly the possibility of a room generating such that it was impossible to exit) so I'm releasing an update! This update includes several bug fixes as well as tweaks to the new activities based on feedback. Here's hoping things are bit more balanced now!

You can download the Pre2 .zip files to play the updated pre-release.

Changelog:

In endless mode, bonus questions now only become available for the previously completed activity when collecting a notebook.

Fixed Match Machine balloons breaking when culled by making them persistent.

Removed potential door spawns in Room_Class_MatchActivity_0 that could be blocked by the activity.

Match Machine now rewards YTPs and stamina for each match made, instead of only providing YTPs when completed.

The Match Machine balloons now have less time in which they are unresponsive. Results are given more quickly.

Balloon Buster now awards YTPs and stamina when popping balloons that need to be popped.

The Math Machine now awards stamina when completed, while collecting notebooks no longer adds stamina.

Made adjustments to Chalkles. Now, when an activity is completed successfully, he will despawn temporarily. His current charge is also reduced by a few seconds when certain activities are progressed.

Fixed inconsistent bonus question sign behavior between activities.

Improved the layout of Room_Class_BalloonBuster_2.

Slowed down the speed at which balloon buster balloons float around.

Added animation to Balloon Buster pulley and improved visuals.

Improved the clarity of the activity explanation chalk boards.

Game lock collision now goes away immediately after unlocking them.

Optimized entity collisions by utilizing a layer mask system before trying to find an entity with GetComponent.

Fixed single crowd groups not joining other crowds they run into.

Limited the max speed of crowd entities.

Fixed crowds getting stuck at a slower speed than intended when exiting after being split off from their group.

Added renderer culling to entities to improve performance.

Set the minimum number of Balloon Buster balloons that could spawn in a room to 1.

Made it so Baldi's pause when completing Balloon Buster is a little bit longer for each balloon that needed to be popped.

Original post: Hello everyone!

Here is the pre-release for version 0.12! Windows, MacOS and Linux builds are attached to this post. Download and extract them to play!

This is a pretty small update, which adds some new content to the game. I'll keep the contents a secret here, but if you check out the game's about screen you can get some more info about what's new!

Please note that I had a cold a couple weeks ago, which caused me to fall behind schedule. I'm better now, but because of the lost time I've ended up having to use several placeholder assets. I will try to have finalized assets ready for the public release, but just know that much of what you see and hear is not final!

One other note, there's a specific new piece of content that I haven't properly optimized yet and it may cause performance issues. If you encounter any unusual performance issues, please let me know and describe just how bad things get.

A few notes about the pre-release:

Please be mindful of spoilers! It is a-okay to share photos and video of the pre-release, this isn't meant to be a big secret, but please do so in a way that people who want to be surprised by new stuff can easily avoid getting spoiled. For example, please don't put pictures of new content in thumbnails. Once this update has been released publicly, don't worry about spoilers.

The pre-releases will use a separate save location from the main game. You can manually copy existing saves over to the pre-release save location if you'd like to use an existing save.

I will most likely only release patches for pre-releases if any super serious bugs are found. Otherwise bug fixes will be saved for the public release version.

I do not have a changelog ready at the moment. I will post one when the public release goes live. Have fun discovering what's new!

Please do not post these builds publicly anywhere, they are meant for Patrons only. That said, I certainly won't mind if people share them amongst close friends who cannot become paid members for any reason.

Known issues (Spoilers!):

Some Bonus Question indicators remain lit even when the activity isn't receiving power.

Performance issues during the Student Shuffle event.

NPC wandering navigation is weird in some of the new rooms.

Bonus Question indicator is placed strangely in many rooms.

Grabbing a notebook too quickly after completing the Match Machine in endless mode will result in all the balloons popping after the bonus question is enabled.

This being a pre-release, bugs new and old are likely! Please let me know of any new bugs you encounter by commenting below or sending me an email.

Thanks, and have fun!
