Dear Citizen-Patrons,

For anyone who missed previous posts, here's a quick catch-up:

We're very lucky to have the opportunity to work with another skilled 3D artist, and we want your help to pick a video topic! In the last round of voting, military topography was the convincing winner, with 60% of the vote.

We've taken on board your comments and suggestions, and combined them with our own ideas, to present you with a final short list of 3 topics. We think all of these would make a fantastic video, using 3D terrain and topography to explain tactics and the experience on the ground.

The poll will run for one week, we will look forward to discovering the winner!

Oh man, no Napoleonic option? :( Would be cool to see Austerlitz or Waterloo in 3D at full scale

Connor Hilchie

Seeing Vimy Ridge in 3D would go a long way for Canadians right now

EpicHistoryTV

Maybe later if the first one goes well, but we're on our mini-Napoleon break!

TankerBricks

If the Western Front (1914-1918) wins, it would be interesting to see the Battle of Verdun from the German Perspective given that they had to assault the French Forts.

Udel-jury

Stalingrad would also be interesting

Jacob Smith

If things go well and you decide to consider continuing this series, do you think the American Civil War might be a topic you might consider?

Samuel Pattinasarane

Kinda hope for something that is not WW 1 or WW 2 related 🥲

SImon Turner

Given the battlefield has radically changed, Thermopylae would be really interesting.

SCL

That would be fantastic! I find Verdun is not covered as much as it should be and especially not from the German perspective.

TankerBricks

Indeed, I believe it would of been a daunting prospect- advancing and being under constant barrage from French machine guns and Heavier weapons as well as rifles.

Ioannis Kouriotis

The Western Front 1914-1918. That would be a major undertaking.

Andrew Herbst

Something with WW1 would be incredible, I was at Verdun a few years back and the scale of these battlefields is hard to comprehend sometimes

Mingyuan Chen

I wish you would have the Russo-Japanese War series in the future. It was an epic battle both on land and the sea. Terrain and topography had a decisive role during the war.

Dean Swiatek (Boomstick)

I voted for Monte Casino 1944. The western front but it was a hard choice... I feel like the western front has the potential to be a week long and a massive undertaking.

Stuart Carver

I think given the public perception of the western front it will be very eye opening to see the front in 3D and show how certain minuscule objectives in terms of territory were seen as vital strategic objectives.

EpicHistoryTV

Would certainly consider the topic, although probably in a style more like our Napoleonic videos.

Noah S

The Western Front would be amazing, because we often see it in abstract ways, like seeing a top down view of a tactical/non satellite view map with lines and blocks representing movements of units, with no 3D concept or sense of scale and real geography

EpicHistoryTV

We have a winner! World War One's Western Front is the topic we'll be moving ahead with - look out for updates in our regular newsletter...
