Dear Patrons,

I'm delighted to share our latest video with you, Part 1 of our epic history of the American Revolution.

The first episode looks at the growing estrangement between Britain's North American colonies and 'the motherland' - except, for a growing number of Americans, it was no longer the motherland, but a distant and increasingly intrusive government, in which they had no direct representation. The political conflict soon led to polarisation, emotional rhetoric, and violence on the streets... Imagine if they'd had social media too.

Huge shout to PMF for their fantastic, creative and imaginative work on this episode, also to our historical consultant Prof Frank Cogliano, and everyone else involved in the production.

Part 2 will see the crisis escalate further, with the first skirmishes of the war fought at Lexington and Concord. We've already written this episode and it will be in production very soon.

I hope you enjoy the video, and look forward to your comments! Back with more updates soon.

As a true American Patriot and a Lord of Epic History, I have been waiting for this for so long…here we go!

Rascality

I'm so excited for this! Your videos made me a huge fan of the Napoleonic era and now to see my own nations history shown in the same way is nothing short of inspiring. Thank you!

thomas griffin

I am eagerly anticipating this new series, particularly the exploration of the Southern Campaign, which played a significant role in the war. This episode is well done!

Richard Fernandes

Something tells me this is going to be one of EH's most viewed series on YouTube. Very fitting to release this on George Washington's Birthday! Thank you Epic History! 🎉

Samuel Pattinasarane

Not to be contemporary, but in the midst of everything that's been going on in America now, it feels like a breath of fresh air to actually return to the actual truth. Thank you so much EHTV! Looking forward to seeing this series unfolds!

EpicHistoryTV

That's my old friend Patrick - he was also our Alexander the Great!

Stuart Walker

Great narrative history story telling and an exciting cliff-hanger to end on. Brilliant stuff.

Brandon Feazell

Incredible as always! Can't wait for episode two.

RJ Santos

Excellent job as always! 🥂 well done mate

JDusk

No chuck? thats a shame! Still, America was still a European colony at the start of the video so it makes sense for the old style of narration, in any case, Mr. Nove never gets old! I am looking forward to more of this interesting series, and I will be wincing when I see the incidents involving my loyalist ancestors haha!

Marley B

Nove, some new music and plenty of the old. And as always, great storytelling. Loved this and looking forward to the rest.

HanzChen

Insane work! I love the part where the 5 killed protesters initials on the coffins and in the order as the same tombstone in Boston! Such great attention to detail!!!

Deepness

Was that the same guy who read the Alexander speech? Speaking for William Pitt?

Lord John 🇵🇱💚

Omg! Toby Charles the whole team!!!! All of You are absolutely incredible & creative individuals!!! Beyond stoked for further episodes & ofc so much more!!! Thank You all so much!!!! Sincerest regards & life lasting fealty 💚 Lord John

MrAH2010

I appreciate what you guys were going for with a new, diversified narrator, but Charles Nove is some home run score you managed to pick up so early in the project.

MrAH2010

I wonder if some focus on Washington's lack of traditional battlefield success, and focus on American loss in most encounters. It might be cool to tell a few battles/stories from the British perspective. Crushing success in the moment, but a further analysis of how it wasn't lasting.

Ismail Baied

Great videos, joined a month or two ago and love that I'm getting early access to the awesome content. I can't wait for the next one!

Medin Burnic

It really is a home run! Charles adds so much gravity and energy to these videos.

Hisham Yousif

Excellent as always. The historical content, the tasteful aesthetic, music, narration ... all of it. Well done.

Deepness

He’s fantastic. Glad you guys brought him back for this series!

Kevin Xu

I hope the wabash narrator does come back to do some voice work for Americans in this miniseries. I can imagine him doing a George Washington voice over

Harry

great 👍

dylan peltier

Love this can't wait for part two you guys do such a great job 👍 all the time keep up the good work

Kristian Hagberg

Noticed one small thing. Around 2:50 you mention that there are Thirteen colonies. Wasn't Delaware created a bit later? 😄 I believe during or after the war. I believe your maps have the same error as well. Otherwise amazing video! Truly love your work 😁❤️

EpicHistoryTV

Thanks Kristian! What date do you have for the formation of the Delaware colony? Are you possibly confusing Delaware with Vermont?

Kristian Hagberg

Hey! Double-checked where I found it(which I'll be honest about and say Wikipedia"Colony of Delaware"). But my understanding is that it wasn't an official colony until 15 of June 1776. And was until then a part of Pennsylvania. Says semi-autonimois region though and a not officially royalty sanctioned colony. So I admit I might be splitting hairs here 🙂

EpicHistoryTV

Yeah I think Delaware has always been included under the term 'Thirteen Colonies', which certainly predates 1776.

Kristian Hagberg

Yeah, makes sense. Just found it a bit weird for it to be presented similar to the sperate colonies I guess. Thanks for hearing me out any how 😄

Jacob Smith

Love this video! As a former Charlestonian, I was especially pleased to see you reference the Charleston Tea Party which is often overlooked and little known outside of Charleston itself. Can't wait for the series to continue!

Juan Manuel van der Zee

This is amazing! The visuals are getting better everytime! Its incredible how you guys mananage to make each video better & better! Really liked the more prominent use of voice actors, ups the immersion. Can't wait for the next one! Great work EHTV!

Lord John 🇵🇱💚

Btw lol forgot to say this yesterday after watching & enjoying this masterpiece, Think it is safe to say the soundtrack deserves to be voted on 💚

Julian Gilyadov

Let's go!! Epic History my favorite channel with a new series!

EpicHistoryTV

Thanks Ali. You're right, it's an important issue for many Americans. It gets mentioned right at the start of Episode 2. We couldn't fit all the disputes between Americans and Parliament into one episode!

R. Schwartz

Hi there! Public historian presently living and working in Delaware! Until June 1776, what is today Delaware were known as the "Three Lower Counties on Delaware," a part of Pennsylvania. From 1704, the Penn family granted the counties an independent legislature with a shared governor, which led to the informal nod of their being the unspoken 13th colony on the Atlantic seaboard of British North America. Fun imperial politics!

Connor Hilchie

1 Shinling for an American vs 26 for someone living in Britain, and yet the Americans were whining about taxes. Can't help but wonder how America, and by proxy Canada, would have turned out different if it wasn't for the Revolution. Hope you guys mention the Canadain provinces and the early days of them invading Qubebc

Thomas

Charles Nove’s delivery on “The gloves are coming off” is one of those EHTV moments that I know will be stuck in my head forever. Fantastic writing, narration, music and imagery to go along with it. Great as always. Thanks!

Robin Wong

Hi! Hopefully I'm wrong but I didn't see my name under lords and ladies during credits. I commented on YouTube and was asked to comment here too. Cheers. Proud to support this channel

EpicHistoryTV

Thanks Robin, great to have your support! Yes it's there, bottom right, the third Lords & Ladies page!

Robin Wong

Gratitude, my friend! Also, very fast reply and update!

MCC

The score starting at 2:00 is so good! Brings me chills every time I hear it.

Jon Molden

Having came back and watched this like 4 times at this point I just want to say it would be so SICK to see a series in the seven years war or Queen Anne’s war! The latter of which never gets much love 😭
