Dear Heroes, Epic Patrons, Lord, Ladies and Citizens of EHTV,

As promised, here is a place to make suggestions for future video topics, so please feel free to reply with ideas and to like/love posts by other Patrons.  One suggestion per person please. On Saturday I'll see which have got the most support and make a short-list for us to vote on.

I will of course read all posts. Even if your idea doesn't make it to the short-list this time, I will  have taken notice of it. There may be some ideas which are great, but I don't feel able to turn into a video right now, and don't get onto the short-list for that reason.

A few ideas to get the ball rolling... we could continue the story of Venice, do a WW2 series (in the style of the WW1 series), do more Napoleonic videos, or continue with the history of Russia into the Civil War period.. or we could start a new national history, of Britain, the Roman Empire... or somewhere else?! I look forward to seeing your ideas.

Similar to the “ mutiny “ video: the debate between Nicias and Alcibiades about the Athenian deployment to Sicily.

Swagalag

If we were going to continue with Napoleon i’d be interested to see his campaigns in Egypt. However I personally would like a new series. I suggest the Mongols or Timur. Rome, Napoleon, and the world wars have a lot of content already.

Jason Webb

I'm going to try again! Hanseatic League. History is not all about wars and politics. It's about normal people trying to make a living. Trying to grow something.

Luca Schneider

A Reconquista series would be amazing

Jakob

Rome is essential

Simon Hagsten of Sweden

I've got three ideas: 1. The Thirty Years War. 2. The Wars of King Pyrrhus. 3. The Rise and Fall of *Insert Emprie here*. :)

Viktor Horký

I would like to see a miniseries about Teutons-Prussia-Germany run :)

Alexander Lawes

A series on the three Punic Wars perhaps?

Alex Myatt

The English Civil Wars (Wars of the Three Kingdoms) - although not as colossal as the Napoleonic or World Wars, there are far too few documentaries out there about them. Such an interesting series of events and battles that led to the unthinkable. Would love to see your take on it!

Shadowbllade

I'd like to see the history of the Romans or a WW2 series

Joel Milo

Napoleon's Italian Campaign or Waterloo remastered

MMDT

+1 for thirty years war

James

I'd prefer a series over the American Civil War. The events leading up to it like Bleeding Kansas and the raid on Harper's Ferry leading through the war. Key battles and politics, including the Gettysburg Address.

kokoo

We've had Alexander and Napoleon, so would Caesar be the next?

Jesús Vázquez

I would suggest a series on The Crimean War or on The Seven Years’ War. Keep up the amazing work!!!

Bluewarrior514

How about the battle of Victoria, Where Wellington defeated Joseph and his army’s eventual Invasion of France, I’d like to see what the British, Portuguese and Spanish was doing while Napoleon was tied up in Germany trying to fight off The Austrians, Prussians, Swedish, and Russians

Callum Burgess

Id love to see some videos on the War of Spanish Succession. Or a video on the Battle of Vitoria and the end of the Penninsula War

Zachary Clawson

I would like to advocate against a WWII series! I think a series on the Romans would be great, such as the Gallic Wars, or the Thirty Years War. Something that hasn’t been covered so much! I support whatever you choose however, and I’m sure a WWII series from you would be a MASSIVE success!

Gordian III

Ranking Napoleon's Marshals in order ! (Napoleon continuation)

Seb

would love to see more napoleon videos about the Egyptian campaign and the war of the second coalition.

Leo Richards

I would like to see a series on Hannibal and the punic wars, but no doubt i'll enjoy any content you share😊

Fennec Fox

I'd love to see a series on the Rise and Fall of the Diadochi successor states. I feel like they don't get near the attention they deserve.

Michael Maley

Hi Toby! My vote would be for a series on the 2nd Punic War between Rome and Carthage. I imagine it could almost be done in a similar way to the Napoleon series, with Hannibal taking the role of Napoleon, and Scipio representing the Roman generals gradually learning how to fight him. I feel like it shows a really interesting side of Rome pre-empire and pre-Marian reforms that some people might not be as familiar with, as instead of shiny legions efficiently beating swarms of barbarians as we're used to seeing, its the Romans getting consistently beaten for the most part by a military genius, and surviving by conscripting vast amounts of men. From your perspective, where I imagine you want to be able to have videos that would do well on YouTube, I can imagine plenty of exciting episodes that would stand out like 'Hannibal crosses the Alps', 'Hannibal's masterpiece - Rome crushed at Cannae', and 'Hannibal defeated - the battle of Zama' etc. Any history channel has to cover Rome at some point I imagine, and I feel like this war is as good a starting point as any. I'm sure whatever you end up making will be fantastic though :)

Chirag

In rank order: 1) Napoleon's Italian campaign, 2) Campaigns of Julius Caesar, 3) WW II

Toby

I'd like to see a documentary on the Boer Wars

Robert Abernethy

I would very much like to see the Peninsular War concluded. The Battle of Vitoria in particular is a fascinating battle by Wellington, that in my opinion would be worthy of Napoleon himself in his younger years.

Patrick Ellis

The English or American Civil War would be cool, or maybe the Wars of the Roses. I'd love to see also another national history - potentially The Holy Roman Empire

Jonathan Linden

Yes that was going to be my suggestion too! I'd love a video(s) to follow on from the 'Napoleon's Vietnam: 1809-1811' video. As Robert said it would be great to see more of what was going on in spain while Napoleon was focusing on his problems to the east.

Kevin Xu

If you want to do a tie in, you can totally go for a Crimea and Franco German war miniseries to lead into your ww1 videos

Jim Greayer

Toby, I'd like to see The Iron Curtain Descends on Europe, the Fall of Berlin to the Berlin Wall 1945-61. Make it so.

Sean Leavey

The American Civil War would be great. It had similarities to the Nepoleonic wars, being just as bloody and full of brilliant strategy, great generals and tragedy. I think it would really fit with the style you've developed through the last series. It's also very well documented so you'd be able to plot individual unit movements like you did in the Napoleonic campaign. Alternatively, WW2 is always interesting but it has also been done almost to death on YouTube. I think you'd do a great job with it but you'd need a unique angle. Perhaps take a look at what Eastory (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCElybFZ60Hk1NSjgCf7I2sg) and Montemayor (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCX7katl3DVmch4D7LSvqbVQ) have done for ideas of the type of WW2 videos that I think could really work well for Epic History TV.

Colby

American Civil War

Abraham Ash

Hi Toby! I would love to see a series on the American Civil War or the American Revolution!

Seamus Hamrin

I’m a sucker for Napoleonics so I’ll repeat the suggestion for Vitoria. Also, perhaps an episode on the sieges because they’re somewhat different. Some of the earlier campaigns like Italy and Egypt are far less common so might be interesting? I would love, love, love a series on the French and Indian War because it’s darned fascinating and under-covered I think. The Revolutionary War would be cool too. As an American is love to learn more about the European wars like Hundred Years, War of Spanish Succession, English Revolution, and so on. More Napoleon, French Indian War... those would be my top votes. Also as a new supporter please accept my profound thanks for what you do. Good heavens, your videos are fascinating and so well done. THANK YOU.

Pablo Antonio Lomeli

1) Napoleon's Return: Road to Waterloo. 2) Early expansions of Rome ( pre-Carthage) to first Julius Caesar Campaign). 3) Vietnam War: Japan Invasion to American Invasion.

Patrick Macartney-Filgate

Hi Toby, I think that you should do more Napoleon, this time period has so few quality and in-depth videos covering it. Also your map/battle animations(which I think are amazing) work best with 18th and 19th century warfare. So seeing Napoleon’s Italian or Egyptian campaign would be great!

Mathew Bub

I've always been interested in a series on Belisarius' campaigns

Joseph Dell

I'd love to see the American Civil War. There's been a few people that have covered a handful of battles, but few people explore the politics of the antebellum years. The scholarship is ubiquitous, and an attempt had been made to represent both sides of the conflict.

Eric Sorkin

I know this would be a departure from war, but sometimes we all need change even if we don't think we do! I’d love to see a series on incredible stories from the age of world exploration (like your video on Francis Drake). Possible content could be Shackleton’s Antarctic story, the US Exploring Expedition of the oceans, Nantucket whaling history and “In the heart of the sea” story, or the American west such as Lewis and Clark’s journey or beaver trapping “mountain man” times in the early/mid 19th century and the clashes with Native Americans. You could maybe do each story in 2-3 video series'? Just thinking out loud!

Dan Jaggers

Hi Toby, those are are all good suggestions you listed, including a few that need to be done in the future, my main suggestion would be a series on the Ottoman Empire, I know there exists various videos about them online and on Youtube in particular, but I feel that it'd be good to dive into what made the empire unique, how it was able to capture Constantinople the city of the worlds desire, the large number of wars it waged against all the power of the europe, the legendary Janissaries, but also all of the lesser known facts about it, including how they took the mantle of Caliph from the Abbasid dynasty after conquering Egypt, their control of trade across the Mediterranean, plus how were able to endure all the way to the 20th Century, despite all the setbacks it had suffered. I feel it would be great topic to make videos about, especially since they have been mentioned various times in previous videos, and always looming in the corner of the maps in the Napoleonic Wars series.

Sean Grace-Wood

Honestly I think any topic would be interesting and I would fully support it :)! However I do have some off the ball suggestions: 1. Latin American History. This is chalk full of revolution, conquest, exploration, civil war, and diplomatic intrigue (such as the Mexican Civil War, Bolivars Campaigns or the Banana Republics). 2. More exploration videos such as James Cook, the Space Program, or the Franklin expedition. 3. History of the Ottoman Empire, as here you could focus on any aspect such as cultural changes, interactions with Asia / Europe, and military campaigns such as the Greek War of Independence.

Ethan Wortzman

I'd love to see one last Napoleon video about Napoleon's time in exile, what has happening on the continent at the time, his return to France and the road to Waterloo. Beyond that, I agree with the sentiment that the American Civil War would be great. I'd also love to see some Roman history. While there are tons of great videos out there of Hannibal leading to Cannae, and a few about Zama, there seem to be very few about the rest of the Second Punic War, and how Rome managed to win after the disastrous defeat at Cannae. What was going on in the non-Italian theaters of the war, and what was Hannibal up to _after_ Cannae? What were his goals and how did he intend to win the war?

Yuri

Napoleon's Egyptian and Italian campaigns.

Martin Andersson

Maybe a single short episode about Karl XII ( King Charles XII) of Sweden 1682-1718 and the legend that surrounds him. One of Swedens last soldier kings who allways rode in front of his men to battles.

Samuel Allen

Rather than more Napoleonic what about the Revolutionary Wars. Give great back story to the Napoleonic series and you've already done the Seige of Toulon so why not dive deeper in to the rest of the conflicts. And can I say amazing work on the Napoleonic series. So sad to see it end.

ms372

I was totally entertained by the entire series on Napoleon.. I have a curiousity in watching similar videos about his earlier campaigns before becoming emperor, including the battle of Arcole, the Egypian and syrian campaign (presumably in 2-3 video series) and the battle of Marengo. I'm also eager to watch Julius Caesar in video series anytime sooner in my life. Also the following sprang to my mind:- 1. The reign of Suleiman the magnificent 2. Fall of Byzantine Constantinople in 1453. 3. The hundred years wars between France and Britain 4. Prussia and the reign of Frederick the Great 5. The Rashidun Caliphate and the rise of Islam Many could be done as single videos.. There's also many parts of history of much significance I could recall from..

Jakob Barron

A series about the Diadochi and the wars for Alexander's Empire would be interesting. It would be a nice continuation of the Alexander series.

Karlo Anić

1) Continue Napoleon. The italian campaigns were brilliant and would fit excellently with the rest.

Karlo Anić

2)American civil war. Similar and there arent that many videos done in your detailed and strategic fashion.

Karlo Anić

3)WW2. Personally love it, but dont you think it's been overdone?

FM

The Punic wars

Resident Elect

English Civil War and Restoration of the Monarchy. Thank you my lord!

Stuart Carver

I vote for the entire history of Ancient Egypt from 3000bc to Cleopatra in a similar style to your History of Russia video as I feel it has mass appeal but hasn’t been tackled in one series that I’ve seen. This could be a good Segway into the 1st and 2nd coalitions including the Egyptian Campaign.

Eelke van Dijk

The 4 Anglo-Dutch wars between the Dutch Republic (who was in a Golden Age and had the largest navy in the world with over 2000 ships) and the Commonwealth of England (ambitious colonial power) for naval & world supremacy. Even France joined England at some point for a combined attack (English by sea, France by land). Fun fact: the Dutch flooded large parts of their country as a defensive tactic. It eventually catapulted the English as the dominant naval power for 100's of years, but it was a bitter fight with lots of: - interesting characters: Admiral Tromp and Ruyter, Cromwell, kings and 'stadholders'. - events: Dutch burned the English fleet at anchor in London, Great Fire of London, the Glorious Revolution which put a Dutch king on the English trone. - political turmoil with the Commonwealth and also in the Republic between royalists and Republicans. Lots of 'new' political movements. Also the Companies (VOC, East Indian trading company etc.) - beyond Europe: both had colonial holdings. Trade was one of the great prices. - Great Golden Age painting from Dutch and English masters ofc for the vids ;) It was a world defining conflict which started in 1652 and the last one ended in 1784 just before French Revolution and Napoleonic Wars. So it could be a nice "prequel" to the Napoleonic series.

Resident Elect

I've requested the English Civil War too. The formation of the New Model Army, their equipment, tactics and battles against Royalist forces would make for some excellent content, and give people outside of the UK a more detailed appreciation for the geography of the UK, as famous battles took place in areas such as Naseby, Preston, Edgehill and Worcester.

luc

Hello,

luc

I think many people would like to have the end of the napoleonic serie : Waterloo, but also Napoleon before the Empire : Marengo, one of the most famous battle, the Egypte campaign and the Italian campaign.

The Wall

I'd like to see either the continuation of the history of russia or the american civil war

mads Andersen

1) The Schleswig Wars 2) The Komnenian restoration 3)the battle of lyndanisse

amanko13

That would be amazing

Zoldy

The Seven Years War would be a very interesting topic in my opinion. It's a topic that isn't often covered by historical Youtube channels, especially not the Indian Front. It also has a good amount of English sources.

Zoldy

Yes please. Could also just do the first 3 Anglo-Dutch wars, considering they all happened within a generation. Ending it on the Glorious Revolution.

Jakub Horák

I would like something medieval... Hundred Years War, Burgundian Wars. Or some "forgotten wars" like Boer Wars, Austro-Prussin War. :-)

Philip Liu

Frederick the Great, the time when Steiner's counter-attack really saved Berlin

Beefcleave Beefcleave

The Great Northern War, it is similar to the Napoleonic war in the sense that both were war of coalition.

Marc Jamali

I would like to see something about the Battle of Agincourt and it's significance to changing warfare.

Ryan Dowdy

I like this idea as part of a "Great Battles" series. Each battle could be covered over multiple videos

Eiko Streitz

-Seven years war, especially in silesia. Good war of movement, great battles, a bit like a prequel to Napoleon -the missing chapter of the peninsular campaign -Italy and Egypt as stated by many other fellow patreons -the three german unification wars -french campaign in mexico, in general more about the second empire under napoleon III, Solferino... -emperor aurelian and the end of the roman third century crisis -stonewall jackson's campaign in the shenandoah valley

Roman Leite

I like to see a Hundred Years War vídeos, with Joan of Arc.

Brett Clark

You have series on Napoleon and Alexander the Great. I think to complete the big three you have to do Julius Caesar and Rome!

Matzi viri

Personally, I feel that both WW1 and 2 are subjects that have been utterly exhausted. What is there to say that has not already been said? Though I could certainly see it being profitable for the channel, I would not watch it. As for Venice, it becomes markedly less interesting somewhere around the beginning of the 16th century. Genghis Khan and his mongols are well known (and thus likely profitable) as well as somewhat less explored than Ceasar or Alexander. My 2 cents.

Mike F

I would recommend the following topics: (1) Finishing the Napoleon series with the Italian Campaigns of 1796-97, the Egyptian Campaign and Marengo; (2) the Seven Years War (an Epic series of battles and campaigns by a great military commander; (3) the Mexican War 1846-48 (an important but little covered war that features similar warfare to the Napoleonic Wars); or (4) the War of the Spanish Succession (similar to the Seven Years War in covering a series of campaigns & battles by a great leader - Marlborough).

Giorgos Kasapoglou

1) Finishing with the Napoleon series 2) Seven years war

Comrade Stu

Napoleon's Egyptian and Italian Campaigns and a return to the history of Venice.

Omar Fernando Tapia Romero

Napoleon's Egyptian and Italian Campaigns (including Marengo), French Revolutionary Wars and Spanish american wars of independence. And if it's possible, I'd love to see videos covering Mexican history (French invasion of 1862, Mexican-American War, Mexican Revolution...).

Omar Fernando Tapia Romero

I'm Mexican and yes! a video about French invasion of Mexico would be awesome! Battle of Cinco de Mayo

Omar Fernando Tapia Romero

Frederick the Great's campaigns would be interesting too, he was Napoleon's inspiration.

Darko

I am up for 7 years war or maybe even series about 18th century wars. Many in there, War of Spanish, Polish, Austrian succession, Russo-Turkish wars etc. and then culmination in 7 years war (word war zero).

Mattias Frännfors

1. Great Northern War 2. Holy Roman Empire 3. Hanseatic League

Stephen Wilson

I think first should be a remastered Waterloo and filling in the campaigns of Napoleon that were skipped (Italy, Egypt, Marengo). After that though, I think it would be interesting to do a series on the American Civil War. The quality of these videos would make it one of the best series of the Civil War ever made. Some more ideas possibly for down the road could be the Seven Years War.

Ditty Dave

The American Civil War! Tactically it's fascinating, and I'd be a nice shift from European conflicts.

Speakdino

I'd like to see the War of the Three Kingdoms. I think we should try get get away from the staunchly Western histories we're all so familiar with. There's a rich history in the East, whether that be India, China, Japan, or the Polynesian cultures.

Lee Durbin

The Battle of Qadesh

Bence Fehér

I for one would love to see the Hungarian War of Independence of 1848/49 as it's a topic close to my heart and very lightly represented on youtube. Whatever the topic will be, I hope it's not WW2 though.

Tyler McFarland

WWII similar to how you did WWI I think is a great idea. Roman Empire would be a big undertaking but also well worth it

kahvipapu

Rome at some point, but maybe do something more obscure before tackling a large topic. I liked the suggestions of Latin American history and less well-covered European conflicts.

Натан Уолш

The 3 part Apollo Series you mentionned on the previous post sounds interesting, and since other people have already said "Waterloo Remake", And i'd rather give them a like rather than just repeat the same comment, I'll go with Apollo. I've never really seen any history channel cover Apollo / The space race, so this'd be interesting.

Gavin Anand Saint Just Brown

- THE SPANISH SUCCESSION WAR, with a focus on Marlborough's battles, because Marlborough it seems to me is an almost forgotten commander . THE GREAT NORTHERN WAR, which had huge historical consequences, namely the rise of Russia and the end of Sweden's time as a great European power, and I would love to see Poltava given the battle video treatment. THE SEVEN YEARS WAR, with a focus on Frederick the Great, as it's the penultimate European conflict before Napoleon's time . Finally, THE THIRTY YEARS WAR, as it was, at least in proportionate terms, the most destructive European conflict until WW2.

Adrian Nilsson

Crimean war, austro-prussian war of 1866 and franco-prussian war. More 19th century!

Marcus Cribb

Please finish the Napoleonic series with the Pyrenees campaign! It's very rarely covered and with 2 large seiges and interesting topography it'd really well round off the Napoleonic Wars.

Tasos Chrysochoidis

There are many topics to consider but eventually, I would suggest WWII series and here is why:It may be covered a lot, but I think that modern warfare suits you and having more info available, in contrast to older periods, would make the videos more fascinating and unique especially with your style. These videos could inlude strategic, operational and tactical levels, just like the Napoleonic series. Napoleon's campaigns could be done some time in the future. Just imagine WWII theatres and battles with EHTV's spectacular animation and art combined with detailed narration... Well, that would be awesome. That's my opinion, but regardless the topic, i bet that it will be TOP quality and everybody will enjoy it!!

Mohammed Alsaadoon

I really liked the Suez videos because they were so overlooked in modern history. I think a series in that vein but for the Iran-Iraq War 1980-88 would be interesting as its repercussions are still felt to today not to mention it was one of the largest wars of the 20th century but it is hardly well known.

Bence Fehér

The Thirty Years War would be fantastic!

Habib Moflehi

The mongols rise and fall would be great

Alfonso Frias

I know you spend a lot of time on Napoleon but a quick one on The French Revolution would be interesting.

Wenwei Jiang

The Second Punic War would be the most fascinating choice for the next series in my humble opinion! Revisiting the French Revolutionary wars and, in particular, Napoleon's Italian campaign, would be super interesting too. If you're looking to cover some East Asian history, the Fall of the Ming Dynasty could be a good starting point, because not many videos cover that at the moment. Especially this battle: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Sarh%C5%AB - super fascinating due to its complexity, yet there is ZERO video covering that topic at the moment (the only one I could find is some rubbish with auto-generated voice hahaha) There are so many great ideas here, that I'm sure your next series will be awwwesome no matter which one you choose ^_^

vren55

If you're going to do a "How to Build your Perfect Castle" video, how about a few vids on the "Great Sieges" of time. eg. Siege of Chateau Gaillard, Siege of Kerak de Chevaliers, Siege of Malbork... Siege of Dover, in the style of the old "Battle Castle" documentary series?

Axle Ra

If you could do some early Roman history, the pre caesar era isn't covered so much

Ian S Walker

Also, personally I'm strongly opposed to WWII, I feel as that story has enough content, but that's just my opinion

JDusk

I would love to see one on the wars of roses!

Jerome Paris

Here are a few topics I would love to see covered by Epic History TV: • French Revolution wars up to Marengo • Hundred Years’ War • American Civil War • T.E. Lawrence campaign in Arabia • Julius Caesar’s campaigns Thanks again for your tremendous content!

Peyman Mostafaei

To be honest, HistoryMarche series on Hannibal is pretty damn good. In my opinion, he'd better cover some other topics.

Peyman Mostafaei

Why not seven years wars and Frederick the Great? Or Thirty years wars with Gustavus Adolphus? Also if you want to change the direction and cover the history of the east, Nader would be a fascinating figure and topic to cover.

Line_of_Blood

Here are some my picks for topics- The Black Death (seems more relevant now to learn about epidemics and how the world combated it during that time) The American Revolution History of the Spitfire (It's really cool one of you uncles flew in thoses during WWII, maybe include pictures of him if they are any or some diary entries you could share) Whatever the topic, im sure it will be great! If anyone has time, there's a great interview he did, I'll provide the link: https://militaryhistorynow.com/2016/01/11/back-to-the-future-how-epic-history-tv-is-re-inventing-the-war-documentary/

Wenwei Jiang

Never knew this interview existed! Thanks for sharing :D

Wenwei Jiang

Ah I didn't know they had a series on Hannibal... In that case, a video on the March of the Ten Thousand and (culminating in) the Battle of Cunaxa would be a good replacement choice. This time I checked on Youtube, no videos exist on this topic yet haha

Stuart Carver

History marches is probably the best after this channel for the documentary style, but then that’s not saying that much. I think it would still be worth doing as it would be much better

Line_of_Blood

Yeah no problem. I’m surprised it’s not on his profile summary. I think a lot of people would enjoy reading and learning about his inspiration on history and what topics he’s most passionate about.

Wenwei Jiang

Totally agreed. Just checked out HistoryMarche's video on Lake Trasimene (just as a sample) for myself - the content itself is good, but I think the animation can be greatly improved. Very often, the narrator is talking and talking and talking, and nothing is happening on screen XD

Big Al

The aftermath of the battle of Waterloo. The retreat to Paris, the pursuit from the Prussians and British is something I've always wondered about and never been able to find much information. Would finish the fantastic Napoleonic series. Also, are we expecting anymore Peninsular war videos? They were excellent and plenty more to cover there

D Desa

I loved the first episode about Venice. Keep up the good work!

Isaak R Ramirez

I would love to see some content on the American civil war.

László Máté

I would love to see anything more about Napoleon. In terms of new topic, i think the Swedish invasion of Russia (Great Northern War) or basicly the story of Charles XII of Sweden would be really great. Its close to the Napoleonic era and even related a bit in the Russian invasion part. I have seen the series of this from the Extra History but you doing that in the Napoleon format would be really cool. I dont think there is much content about this except Extra Historys.

Nicolas Marin

Mongol invasion of Japan or any other Japanese shogunate wars. Chinese medieval wars as well, such as the wars that inspired the Romance of the Three Kingdoms!

Nicolas Marin

Latin American History! Most countries have a recurring pattern as shown in Garcia Marquez's "100 Years of Solitude".

Gordian III

I'm strongly opposed to a World War 2 video ! That has literally been covered a dozen times. SO many YouTubers have done videos about it, there is even several Netflix series about it.

Philip Öhrberg

i actually think there are several netflix series with ww2 lol

Marcos

The Peloponnesian War (PPW), and if you want to get truly epic the military history of ancient Greece starting after Platea and ending with the raise of Macedon. There's a lot of super-interesting stuff during this period (first/second PPW, Athenian expedition to Egypt, the raise of Thebes, etc.). I have been looking into this period and there's almost no decently produced videos of this sort. The Mongol Empire is definitely EHTV material as well.

Shaun Scandrett

I have faith Toby that no matter what it is you produce, it will be captivating and done to the highest level of quality. It is a bit of an envy to have thousands of years of history at your fingertips.

Alberto Barreto

Pls do Napoleon's Campaign in Egypt. Theres nothing about it on Youtube. None of the other channels have done it. And it would be a shame if this channel, as the pre-eminent source of Napoleonic history on youtube did not cover the Egyptian Campaign.

Marcos

Great suggestion. The Napoleonic series would be lacking without this campaign. Also the Italian campaign.

Marcos

Sincerely, there is just an overproduction of excellent WWII content on Youtube, and I doubt that anything can be really added by EHTV.

Christopher Lutz

The Northwest Indian War. One of the most significant events in early American history that has been virtually forgotten today. The Battle of the Wabash still stands as the worst defeat of a US military force and has far reaching consequences for the Americans and the native tribes. Far more significant than events like Little Bighorn that get all the attention.

Ironbear89

A campaign about Rupert of the Rhine or anything to do with the English civil wars

Danny

Regardless of the war(s), would love to see a lot of the conflicts mentioned by others but perhaps on a rotation with a focus on campaigns? Really like the buildup to the next video in the series. Trying to tackle a single entire war has got to be tough while trying to maintain the great level of detail these videos have come to have. With that said, still would very much love to see Napoleon’s Egyptian and Italian campaigns to round this series out!

Eelke van Dijk

Epic History's partner HistoryMarche is already doing that if you're interested. They were the ones who did the visual stuff on the Napoleon vids I believe

PapaZoulou

Given that the Revolutionary Wars have already been submitted, I propose for a vote the Wars of Louis XIV during the XVII-XVIIIth century interest me a lot, especally the War of Spanish Succession. This war would be fit for a TV show given the number of plot-twists in it. You have naval battles, the French assaulting Rio de Janeiro, Marlborough's string of victories that would culminate in a massive french last stand at Malplaquet, the fighting in Italy with Eugene of Savoy and the fights in Spain. You can also tie-in those campaigns with the fightings in the Balkans against the Ottoman Empire and the conflicts between Sweden, Russia and Poland. This would allow you to capitalise on the views of Eastern-Europeans and Middle-Easterners that tend to be amongst the bigger Patreon donators.

Mark Powers

I think an American Revolutionary War or American Civil War series in the style of your Napoleon videos would be an absolutely incredible ride. Just imagine Shermans March to the Sea, Gettysburg, Antietam, Crossing the Delaware, Saratoga and Bunker Hill in an EHTV video. Already getting chills.

Alexandre Milky

Yom Kippur War 1973 (last major arabs-Israel war, very disputed battle)

Alexandre Gianasso

Let's finish what we started; I recommend completing the series about Napoleon by adding the 100 days' campaign (a bit about the Congress of Vienna would be interesting too), the Egyptian/Syrian Campaign, and the Italian Campaign. With this we would have the definitive (if not supreme) documentary series on Napoleon on Youtube!

Swagalag

I am interested in this as well!

David Darmon

I suggest The Rise of General Bonaparte with italian campaign, egyptian and Marengo campaign. The circle will be complete.

Dmitri St. Jarre

Excellent suggestions above! I love this. How about the Anglo-Zulu war? Keep up the good work!

Jennifer Savoie

I would like to see something on the Japanese Revolution (Boshin War).

Jinha Choi

Would be really interested in WW2 videos that cover the Chinese front, since it seems to be largely neglected

Tom Vansel

I think a "Hundred Days Campaign" video would be an excellent encore for the "Napoleon" Series. It would not have be a detailed Battle of Waterloo, like your previous video from some years ago. But maybe a slightly shorter production focused on the means of Napoleon's Return and brief overviews of Ligny, Italy, etc.

I like the theme of human exploration like the Drake and Magellan videos. I'd love to see a similar series about the space race.

I'd like to see... American Revolutionary War and American Civil War (It would be nice to see these done from a tactical perspective for once rather than the political perspective) Punic Wars Julius Caesar Series (Gallic Wars, Britain Landings, Roman Civil Wars) Hundred Years War Thirty Years War It would be nice to see a supplementary revisit to Napoleon in the future, especially the Italian and Egyptian Campaigns but I think a break is needed from the Napoleon series. I also agree with the others about World War II. Even though it's my favorite subject and there is always new stuff to learn it's just better to focus on stuff that's covered less often.

Winston Churchill, particularly all his numerous war experiences. Andrew Roberts' new book on him was excellent and might give inspiration. Good read anyway, hihgly recommended.
