Dear Patrons,

A quick update on the Napoleon's Marshals series - Part 2 will be ready late next week, and you'll be first to see it here on Patreon.

The series has become slightly larger than originally planned! This is because there are so many interesting facts connected with each Marshal, and I'm finding it difficult to leave any of them out. I hope most of you will relish this level of detail, and apologies to anyone who feels they've already had enough Napoleon..

I won't share screenshots (no spoilers for the rankings) - I will just say that the next episode includes some big names. Instead, here's a selection of some of the brilliant artwork featured in the next episode.

I'll be back next week with the video. And thank you again for your support!

Toby

I could actually use more Napoleon. Your videos are by far the most fascinating I've seen, whether on the History Channel or other YouTube based channels. I am happy to support.

Eli Khanam

Take your time. Although I wish you could make a start on WW2, the Napoleonic Wars has been far more interesting than I thought it would so keep making more about the series.

Vikram Chochinov

I can't wait for the Vitoria Campaign and Napoleons enemies ranked. Keep up the awesome work

Louis Andrews

Never can have enough Napoleon. I've been wondering how this video has been coming along every day since the last one. So glad you're going into detail. Thanks so much

John-Mark Mamalakis

I am so excited for this. The last video brought tears to my eyes with the dedication you have shown to this period. All of your work is the best quality.

I love the Napoleon stuff, I would love a video about the first two coalitions. Nothing gets old.

Paul Atkins

Even though we are all looking forward to seeing it Toby, it must be of your exact detail and nothing less. Can't wait to see it!

The CIA

There is no such thing as too much napoleon:)

Stuart Carver

I wonder whether you could look at these pictures and look up what battle some of them come from and try to work out which marshals were present.....or is that a little too nerdy? It’s been 200 years, I can last a week for spoilers, can’t wait.

Eddie

Can't wait! This'll be awesome. I don't know what your plan is for this video, and it's probably too late to do this anyways, but I had a thought to help spice up these "middle of the list" tier videos. Adding 1-2 marshals from the top 10 at the end of the video might be smart. Although we all loved the last video, there's no denying it would've been exciting to hear about one of our favorite heros amongst the other accomplished, but not so exciting marshals. This way, each video of the series could introduce 1-2 marshals from the top 10, so by the last video there's maybe only the top 5 remaining. This would add more spice to these lower list videos while also encouraging new viewers to check out each video in the series (as opposed to just watching the finale and calling it quits). Just an idea!

Would also love to see some stuff from the prussian battles under Frederick the great or some lesser known battles from the spanish. Love your Videos, keep ist up!

Luca Schneider

I can only speak for myself but i cant get enough of Napoleon so this is great news :D

EpicHistoryTV

There are a couple of clues in there, but they are VERY tricky.. I will be amazed if anyone can work them out.

EpicHistoryTV

Hi Eddie, I hear what you're saying and I like the idea. The first episode was a bit light on the major Napoleonic campaigns, because those at the bottom of the ranking were obviously there because they hadn't played major roles. But I can assure you it's all big names from here on in..

Stuart Carver

I’ll spare myself the embarrassment then.

EpicHistoryTV

Remind me after the video if you like, and I'll tell you the clues.

Please please please, consider making a 13 Vendémiaire video. Napoleon's Marshals is fanservice, we actually need the whole thing after Toulon and before Austerlitz!

EpicHistoryTV

I think I'll be covering the Italian campaigns at some point, could go on and do more if Patreon wills it..

Richard Hsu

We need a series on Frederick the Great lol

Would you consider doing a mini-special on the Beresinalied? I felt the episode on the Battle of Berezina was properly harrowing and the song encapsulates it quite well, despite being older originally. It could be in the format of Alexander's speech. Thanks!

EpicHistoryTV

I'm not aware of this, it's a poem based about the Beresina crossing? Do you have a good link? Unfortunately I won't be returning to the Beresina in the foreseeable future, but interested to learn more.

mcmaha1

Thank you for your reply. Indeed. The song itself is quite old, but it became associated with the Swiss troops who fought on the west bank of the Berezina against the attacks on the crossings. Constituting four regiments of II Corps, initially 8'000 strong, that late in the campaign only 1'300 reached the river and only 300 survived the fighting on the west bank. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beresinalied, for the song and lyrics. There is a good performance done by the men's choir of Basel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHwyw7hnCCc Hope you find this interesting. In brief, the battalion commander Franz-Josef Blattmann asked First Lieutenant Thomas Legler to sing this song before the battle in which he allegedly died. Thomas Legler went on to write memoirs of the campaign in Russia.

EpicHistoryTV

Wow, beautiful and very moving. I had never heard of this before. I won't be able to make a video about it, but I will do a social media post about it! Thanks for bringing to my attention.

Astra Solace

Same. There's still: 1) The updated version of Waterloo, from when Napoleon escaped from Elba to his exile in Saint Helena (the next Napoleon video needed imho). 2) His 1796-1797 Italy Campaign. 3) His 1798 Egypt Campaign. 4) His 1800 Italy Campaign. 5) The First Coalition + Napoleon on the sidelines.

Astra Solace

New Patreon supporter here - we will, WILL them into existence! Besides the Italian Campaigns, there's also the Egyptian Campaign, but we also need an updated version of the Waterloo Campaign first, to match with the quality of the latest Napoleon vids you put out!

valentin plouzeau

We need Napoleon's campagn of Itality. Here we can see his 3 innovative tactics to win a battle.

mcmaha1

Well, thank you for taking the time for it. Keep up the great work!

Raul

Is Napoleon's Marshals part 2 coming out today?

EpicHistoryTV

Yes! Just finishing the audio, should be up in about 2-3 hours.

Raul

Can't wait!!! Thank you!!!

EpicHistoryTV

Hey Astrá, good to have your support! Yes plenty of options for future Napoleon videos! I do want to make videos about some other topics in between though..
