Dear Patrons,

I hope you have all had a great Easter. A quick update from me: I am just finishing off Belisarius Part 6, and it will be ready for its world premiere here on Patreon on Monday! Here's a few sneak peeks to whet your appetite...

It's a massive 30 minute episode to finish off the series in style, and covers Belisarius's second campaign in Italy, his last battle, and the scandalous revelations of Procopius's 'Secret History', amongst other things. It should be a good one. There'll be more news on what's coming next after that... suffice to say, we will be getting revolutionary.

Have a great weekend, and I'll be back on Monday with Belisarius: The Last Battle.

Thank you again for supporting the channel!

Toby

Are you telling me the Corsican ogre has escaped Elba…oh sorry I’m getting ahead of myself 😜

Is it going to be head rolling revolutionary or tea tossing revolutionary? Or is there a 3rd option?

Tom Vansel

Fantastic! Thank you for update Toby.

If you do the French revolutionary wars please also do important battles where Napoleon isn’t a part of. For example the battles that led to the capture of Austrian Netherlands (Belgium) and ending of Dutch republic. Those are underrated battles. I am Dutch but there isn’t any good video about the battles that led to the downfall of the Dutch Republic.

Think 'charging the barricades wearing a top hat', and also, standing in a square in -20 degrees and being shot at.

Haha I agree: there's like the Battles of Fleurus and Valmy as interesting examples. Valmy was notable for skyrocketing the morale of the new young French republic against other European powers, and Fleurus because of what you said, the beginning of the downfall of the Austrian Netherlands & Dutch republic against the French. (Fleurus is also notable for being the site of the 1690 Battle of Fleurus too, where Louis XIV in the 9 Years War won a victory against the Grand Alliance of the Dutch Republic, England, Spain & the Austrian Empire) Honestly I think there's no shortage of post-1789 to 1815 France content that Toby can do videos on for the next few years! Haha. However he might get too sick on sticking to one area of history for too long lol

When is the video coming out

Joginadh

Okk can't wait to see it
