Dear Patrons,

I'm delighted to share the world premiere of the final episode of Napoleon's First Campaign!

This 30 minute episode covers the climactic Battle of Rivoli, as well as Napoleon's subsequent advance into Austria that triggered negotiations that ended the War of the First Coalition. Huge thanks to PMF Productions for their tremendous work on this episode, which I'm tempted to say is the finest, and most ambitious, of the series. I hope you enjoy!

Typos for Merch is in effect - I think we all know the rules by now..

More updates and poll results coming next week...

Thank you for supporting the channel, and look forward to your comments!

Toby

Sounds amazing can’t wait!

Water-Rate.com

Love the napoleon content, you are absolutely crushing it!

Gabi Petrescu

Oooouu yesss Sir! 🙌🏻🙏🏻 Much praise and thank you and your team for your amazing work!

Miibez

I am so excited to watch this after work!

Chirag

Yes! Been waiting for this! Thank you Toby!

Connor Hilchie

My first video of yours on Youtube was Waterloo. Seems fitting that the first on Patreon would be the last of his first

Medin Burnic

What an amazing victory for Napoleon! This episode is fantastic!

Emilo the Great

This is so good! Love it so much, now to be greedy, I wish there was a egyptian campaign or war of the second coalition video in the making *wink wink* :)

R

Hi, found a typo at 24:09, the date is displayed as 1796 when it should be 1797. Great video!

Victor Deleon

Thank you so much for this! I have been waiting so earnestly for the finale to the Italian campaign. Great work, as always. I'm excited for whatever comes next from you guys! Also, not sure if this is a typo, but the Venetian Republic survived for 1,100 years, not 1,200. I looked it up; the official foundation is stated to be AD 697. Again, I'm not entirely sure.

Tyler hammond

Ahh perfect. And now that Italy is done I hope you put all episodes into one long documentary like your other ones. Then once you do him in Egypt as well I look forward to watching all his documentaries in order going thorough all his campaigns and life

R

Found another typo at 9:14, the year should be 1797

Walter C

This was so EPIC. Your videos inspire me and give me goosebumps like I am on the edge of my seat. This was so great! For the next video, I voted for the American Revolution because there is so much untold beautiful history during that time but this was just Epic and feel like we need to finish the Napoleon series. Major shout out to the GOAT of History Storytellers @ EHTV.

Walter C

I agree, that is the only word to describe it. This was Epic.

Dan Haagen

Amazing! I enjoy these videos so much, thank you for keeping the wonderful stories from history alive!

Sean Mac

Well there is second Italian and they are doing Eylau so it won't quite be continuous

Robin Wong

Brilliantly done! Congrats to the whole EH team!

Sean Mac

While I saw that someone already pointed out that the time counter was wrong at 9:14. it's actually wrong at several points. I will consolidate a list of times it is on screen because at least from what I can tell it was continuously mistyped as 1796 as apposed to 1797

Sean Mac

5:05 to 5:35 On screen 5:49 to 6:38 On Screen 7:20 to 7:31 On Screen 8:06 to 9:54 On Screen 10:09 to 10:34 On Screen 19:00 to 19:52 On Screen 21:10 to 24:10 On Screen 24:22 to 24:40 On Screen Also at 26:12 is a possible typo I can't recall of the top of my head when that quote was given

Richard Fernandes

Once AGAIN a SUPERB Job! Congrats for your EPIC episode done with PMF. It was worth the wait for the latest release of this final episode. Besides, I hope that your family's Health is better. Greetings Toby

Andrew Robson

Superb. Sean Max beat me to it with typos - at 10:06 it says 13th January 1796 - should be 1797

Finn McCabe

The highlight of the week. Thanks EHTV. Every video you make is superb. Big fan

Victor Deleon

Honestly not sure, but I saw someone else doing it and thought of it as a fun easter egg hunt.

Walter C

Hey Toby, have you ever looked into uploading on Rumble as a secondary platform? (I am not sure if its hard to do). But I have been using it more and more. Just seeing if you are open to uploading there as well?

Nicolo' Pariani

I deeply want to thank you to have made this videos, they really inspire me and i was not able to wait one more minute so see them all together (sorry again :) ). Can i ask you one more time the name of the soundtrack used to make this last one? Thank you again

Stuart Carver

Damn what an ending loved it, this campaign is the classic how’s he gonna get outta this one series. However you know what the end of this video hinted we needed? Venice part 2 I must be 4 years waiting for the sequel, wars have been started for less 😂

Gage Hardesty

Now I understand why Napoleon went south in the first place great way to explain it Toby, THIS WAS THE BEST VIDEO EVER, and don't get angry at the big letters because I will say this video hit the top notch, with the pope being the stupid dude in the first place and the advance into Austria it was perfect and above all the music, best ever in A video you made this time you get my super thanks on this one! 😁😁😁😁😁😄😄😄😄👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Victor Deleon

Yes, the soundtrack was amazing. I think I caught maybe two new soundtracks in this video? not entirely sure, but I had never heard them before, and they sounded amazing. The reuse of 'Archenemy' by Ben Hayden was also superb.

Blake Mcdonald

Great work as always. The best on YouTube.

Giancarlo Andujo

Congratulations 🎈🎊🍾🎉 I can’t wait for the Egyptian campaign

Sergei

I swear if it wasn't for Austerlitz I bet Rivoli would have been Napoleon's masterpiece

EpicHistoryTV

Thank you! You were second to spot this, so narrowly miss out on a prize..

EpicHistoryTV

Thank you Victor! Regarding Venice, the origins of the republic are a bit murky, like the lagoons from which it emerged. The community of refugees probably formed around 600, and since we are talking very rough numbers, I'm happy with '1200 years' (c.600 - c.1800)

EpicHistoryTV

Thank you Sean! It is in fact the same typo, just used many times!

EpicHistoryTV

First person to spot a mistake in the video (usually it's a spelling or typing error, or a wrong date) gets any item of merch from our store as a thank you.

EpicHistoryTV

Thank you Nicolo'! There's about 16 tracks used in this video - is there a specific piece of music you are interested in?

Sean Fitzgerald

An excellent conclusion to an an excellent series. Thank you.

Nicolo' Pariani

Hi! The first from 3:28 to 7:52 (probably they are two different tracks), the second from 9:06 to 9:53, the third from 9:53, the fourth from 11:08, the fifth from 18:47 to 21:50

EpicHistoryTV

I've just added a complete track listing at the bottom of the post..

MitchyCool

23:10 1797, not 1796

MitchyCool

Also do a Bitchute secondary channel! Only being on YouTube these days is social media suicide.

Thomas

This series has been such a pleasure to watch. Easily the highlight of every month. Thank you so much for your effort. I’m so excited to be here along the way for all future projects!

Sorin Pochtar

Brilliant! As the Victory at Rivoli!

Aaron Hernandez

Bro, Bonaparte running all over northern Italy handing out Ls left and right

Francis Morin

At 23 minutes or so, the time stamp reads 1796 when it should be 1797. :)

Uaid Ez Zahhar

Quick question: What font is used during the video? It's really nice.

Nicolo' Pariani

I see that many are exclusive for your channel, please, can you share them by posting one by one? If you pay for them, it should be fair that others who wants to listen them, like me, pay for that and contribute to your works.

EpicHistoryTV

Adobe Caslon, probably.. there are a few different fonts in the video but that's used for most maps, quotes etc. (otherwise it's Impact!)

EpicHistoryTV

Sorry - they are commissioned for use as musical scores for my videos only. Some of those scores I will release here in future though..

Egan Yi

incredible, can't wait for the Egypt series

Gilmar Thor

just a quick observation isnt the year in the top right corner incorrect? it shows 15 jan 1796 on minute 20

Nigel Pierce

Jesus Christ what a battle!!!! He was literally circled and took charge! What a legend!!! Later on when he they sent Charles to face him I said in my head little did they know but napoleon was going to end his whole career 10 years later lol

Bluck

Brillaint conclusion, it would be brilliant if you broke down the campaigns such as this in the future, an example could be Russia. These more in depth videos are a great watch. Congrats :D

Gavin Anand Saint Just Brown

Congratulations on the conclusion to another great series. I should say I was particularly impressed by how you showed that the Austrians, in spite of all their faults, especially at a logistical level, acquitted themselves well in this campaign, and that their commanders were not exactly the hopeless incompetents I'd been led to believe they were. Many of their strategic decisions came across to me as making perfect sense.

luc

Incredible the suspense of Rivoli, with the many reversals !

R

I question the Feldzeugmeister’s decision to launch his main offensive down the Adige valley when he had superiority in numbers. The Alps forced his army into a bottleneck and allowed Napoleon to use interior lines to deal with each column individually. Alvinczi should have launched his offensive from Friuli to the East as he did in the Arcole campaign where he nearly defeated Napoleon. There, the Austrians could have taken advantage of their superior numbers on the open plains beneath the mountains.

Walide

It’s still considered as one of his masterpiece. The Main Street in Paris, is Rue de Rivoli (Rivoli street.)

Sergei

Wow that's pretty cool thanks for the info

Gaurav Rao

While at times i do admit i get frustrated waiting for the videos of Epichistory TV but the quality NEVER EVER disappoints. They have set the bar for what a series should be

Volodymyr Toronchuk

Useful note: around 6th minute there is a wrong year. 1796 instead of 1797 as I understand. Fix it before launching on YouTube

Danny Loftis

Another amazing series. Congratulations to everyone who makes EHTV possible! You guys deserve all the success and love ❤️

Nigel Pierce

They say it’s not the last of God emperor videos they still gotta do Egypt, Marengo, redue Waterloo, Eylau and I’m sure there is more they can do with him

Abdullahi Hussein

Brilliant what a series the greatest YouTube channel. 👏

Luca Schneider

Thank you for writing the track list love the music!

Gaurav Rao

I know, I appreciate it. I think I just get frustrated from the pure selfish reason that I'd like to learn as much as I can from your works. I do admit it is silly and irrational on my side but in a way I do mean it as a compliment for your amazing work across not only Napoleon but your other series

Darko

Great episode. I know we patrons are bit tiresome always asking for more Napoleon content, but I think that an episode with the focus on Napoleon's subpar (I am being generous) diplomacy, another with focus on his more than adequate administration would have been excellent as well.

Lazar Stanković

Brilliant series, looking forward for battle of Marengo. Knowing you it's going to be long wait, but worthy.

Joshua C. Agar

The 1797 offensive had erroneous dates stating March 1796 instead of March 1797

Walide

It was a clear fault. But even with this mistake he was not far from victory at Rivoli. The Austrians had competent officers and the French had to fight energetically to defeat them with rising stars and experienced officers.

Stuart Carver

Fascinating that despite taking on better more experienced commanders this last campaign, even before Mantua fell, was the most disastrous for the Austrians. Also when was Archduke Charles moved to Italy as it shows him still command on The Rhine when Bernadotte is marching south, would he not have already transferred south by then I wasn’t able to find a date myself? I’d love to see more on Charles some day, an overlooked Commander. I’d also like to take back my criticism of the series being as long as 5 episodes. Now I see the full breadth of what you were going for…I get it.🫡

RJ Santos

it's show here that even how dire the situations. A Calm Commander under Pressure like Napoleon always find way to victory.

Scott Saunders

Not going to lie - I was hoping old Wurmser would make it out of there. He did his duty.

Uaid Ez Zahhar

Fun fact: The man responsible for drawing up the plans for the Rivoli Campaign (including my boy Lusignan's march through Mount Baldo) was Franz von Weirother. He was also architect for Archduke John's disaster at Hohenlinden, which effectively ended the 2nd coalition; and he also was the mastermind behind the coalition plans for Austerlitz. Weirother quite literally won France not one but three wars. He is also mentioned in War & Peace by Tolstoy. Just wanted to get it out, since there's nobody else I can express it to. If you read this, have a wonderful day (or night) and greetings from the Kingdom of Spain!
