RealCam HeadMotion v0.2 - Now Released (Patreon)

Hi All,

RealCam HeadMotion v0.2 Beta is now available for ETS2 and ATS on Project Ultimate.

This update expands the app with several new camera control features while keeping the automatic HeadMotion active in the background.

17/10/2026 - added joystick and axis support - added master on and off switch for the whole app - the app needs redownloading and reinstalling if wanted to use it with Joysticks.

What’s new in v0.2:

Mouse Look for looking around the cabin naturally with the mouse

Cabin Look with bindable keys for quick directional camera control

Live camera switching between Driver Low, Driver High and Dashcam

Camera presets can also be assigned to bindable keys for quick changes while driving

New Breathing Motion, improving the previous basic vertical up-and-down movement with a more natural body-style motion

Further tuning and usability improvements

All movement sliders and options remain fully customizable

The default RealCam HeadMotion on/off key is F9 which is also bindable.

The camera can be recentered at any time using Numpad 0.

Installation instructions are included in the v0.2 download pack, including the required one-time OpenTrack setup.

IMPORTANT

RealCam HeadMotion is still in beta. Please follow the included installation and OpenTrack instructions before first use.

feedback: The update is great, but I use an Xbox controller and I still can't use the stick to look around the cockpit!

Hey, did you enable the mouse look? And tried to bind your xbox controller in the app?

I love this mod, but I can't use it with a controller... the right stick doesn't work for looking around, and it's not possible to map any buttons on the gamepad either. Very annoying—I thought it would work after the update... well, have fun to those who are able to use it!

Correction: Check if it works with the mouse; the problem is that the program doesn't recognize the joystick as a mouse. Or at least I haven't figured out how to make it work!

Hey, the program will not recognize it as a mouse at the moments. Just to be sure, are you trying to set axis or buttons?

Yes buti asked if what youre trying to bind is an axis or a button as if youre trying to bind an axis or a stick to a button it will not work

Hi Mate, Unbound here! Used the previous version just fine. Upon installing the beta version and following the simple instructions, the telemetry is connected, but it seems that i cannot use the actual pop-up while in-game. The OpenTrack is open then closed as advised. The mouse cursor doesn't move to the menu pop-up, and then the cam "glitches" out (Tobii) is off, and config settings are adjusted as described.

Awesome improvement, especially being able to control where we look. I personally only have 2 issues remaining, I'd love to be able to change the center camera button. Originally I use a steering wheel and I press buttons to look left and right, and then another button to center, but this makes me use the keyboard. The most important problem though is being unable to look outside my window when reversing driver side, the camera can't go further to the left. Otherwise, this mod is perfection. Thank you again.

Hey can't control the app in-game f9 not working for me and after install the mouse shows inapp and on desktop at the same can see picture and the mouse look dont work either, trying to use it but its a bit frustrating to use 😞😞😞

hey, yes on desktop or in menus the second mouse will be there as the app should only be enabled in the game when driving, if F9 is not working for you try binding it to a different key. also did you enable the mouse look toggle?

Amazing work mate!!! The only issue I’m having is I can’t open the app settings while in game driving. The app works good, and I can control the settings while out of the game but it won’t pop up for me while on the road. I’ve tried F9 and F10, nothing pops up. I don’t like leaving the game to tweak a setting and have to load the game back up. If you can fix this that would be amazing! Other than that, great work on this mod! 🔥

I'm using the xbox elite controller and same issue. My rt stick axis was my look axis but doesn't work so, I had to delete the mod.

Yes, I just re-downloaded the latest version, but when I click “Bind joystick / gamepad axis” and move the right stick, nothing is detected. It’s probably because of Steam Input

Hey, the app itslef does not change any physics or steering inputs of the game, the telemetry is only used to detect which direction is the truck moving.

Hey, if you use headtracking this would not work for you as this is mainly for people without it, unless youd like to use this instead of a headtracker

Tbh, the RealCam app is a very small addition added lately, in the Project Ultimate you have got the Reshade Presets like RealCam v1 v2 v3 v3.5 and Realeye available or the Project Ultimate Weather

don't know what it is but when your app is on, now there are two different mouse icon, one for the normal windows and your app mouse icon. Both move at the same at diff ratio so when i press anything in your app, wherever the windows mouse icon is positioned, it will press whatever is there. Impossible to freely use your app.

hey, the app should not be usable in the windows screen, it should bee kept off till youre in the truck and the game is running

Hey, yes that is a planned behaviour, as the app should not ideally be opened in the windows system but only in the game itself when in the truck

For me its not working at all, F9 not working, key bindings not working, keys to look left and right not working. And camera is doing super glitchy combos. Only way to stop it is ALT+TAB than it stop. I did everything what was in your guide. I see potential but i will wait to next update.

Hey, that is very weird that all of this is not working, would you be able to provide some video about this, as this works in 95% of cases and its more of a PC assesibility settings then the app itself, and a video would help me see what is happening with it

I appreciate your reply, im wont try to install it again until new update cuz after i uninstalled IT my game started to crashing while loading. Thx god i have truckdoctor app and i solved it, my game now running. I will patiently wait for next version i havent energy and nerves to makes it work. BTW thx for your work. Ultimate weather 2.5 working perfectly. ❤️

Amazing work! I have few things that i miss, if u can add move camera to left and right key and it stays where u look and a center key blint. Then i seen a conflit with TM walk plugin when u walk the W,A,S,D keys move like if u are seat on truck always looking forward its difficult to move. ex: if u move the camera walking to the right the W dont move forward anymore it goes left.

The plugin isn't working for me. I installed it correctly as instructed, but I'm not seeing any effect in the game.

I tried messing with everything in the plugin, I accelerated the truck to 100 km/h and I'm not getting the effect, even the positioning I tried but I don't understand why it's not working. I restarted the game and everything is the same.

And you have run the Opentrack setup same as instructed along with the trackir setup in the config too i guess. Whilst this works fine for most but then specific pc systems have issues with the app. I will create an log to it. And will try to introduce that today or tommorow in order to see which process of the app the system is not allowing

Do I need a camera? I think I've found the problem. I thought OpenTrack was only for people who use a camera to track head movement.

You do not need an camera, basically the opentrack launch ia just to install opentrack registry as the RealCam imitates an headtracker in a software kind of way

I must say..it took me some time to get the hang of it. But the more i use it, the more i like it. I'm now driving with the app instead of my Track IR (and i'm not missing it!). Great mod/app !!
