Fellow sleep apnea haver here, is the test where you need to be in an office an American thing? Here in Canada they just gave me a small machine that attached to my shirt while I slept and had a hose and some wires attached to it.

Polysomnographic technician here. I dont know if its American only, but I hate the at home study tests for how inaccurate it is. If it shows the patient has enough apnea and has to do an in lab study for a cpap titration the results are completely different than what we expect. Some reasons they do an at home test is because the insurance wants to pay for a cheaper test or because the lab has too many pts

yeah they could have just given you a machine, I heard of that being a thing too. As long as the machine is showing you have under 5 AHI you're good
