Youtube's algorithm also sucks these days. I think that the Bradley Copper Skit is one of your guy's best ones but it just doesn't get recommended. I think the only sketch that pops up every once in a while is the Jesus one (very deserved btw). Hoping that there comes a point where Youtube pushes actually good content again instead of just hype beast bs :c

I think people have gotten too used to constant free content online. I think it has its place but viewers forget creators are human too and often it’s only one person or a small group making things. it’s like fast fashion logic has made its way to entertainment too. if you want high quality and an ethical/healthy production process you can’t expect things to come out for free at the rate many people seem to want them to. (this is not a critique of the supermega fandom specifically btw, I’ve seen it sometimes but overall we seem chill. just a thing I’ve noticed more generally)

Re: Carrington events, made me think of a random deep-dive I did on dendrochronology (tree ring dating). Apparently they use events called "Miyake" events to date trees, which are basically just massive blasts of cosmic rays every few centuries ish that are detectable in tree rings. Its basically how they match tree rings to each other, because they'll be visible on all trees on earth at the same time in history

also re: your concern abt it happening today, could happen but most of our shielding now on the really important shit + wires is good enough that they're not as affected by electromagnetic interference. Like for example people talk about how it just takes on EMP to fuck up all electronics but in reality its mainly going to fuck up real sensitive/unshielded electronics but things that are covered like shit in your computer will likely be fine. That being said the power grid will probably be fucked still

I actually bought that cube before, and no, it wasn't advertised as a "goon cube" lmao. But I will say, the product is *GOD AWFUL.* It's tiny, it's an acrylic cube that sits on the tiny display and it was hard to make gifs that would work on it, and they'd be choppy/hard to see on my desk. It was a waste of money, lol.
