Is that the lady the mom from American Horror Story that was trying twerking on her son?

Jennifer Lawrence

I was always really good at spelling in school. We would often in class have little mini spelling bees. I ended up spelling a word wrong on purpose to avoid possibly going on to competitions. I have super bad stage fright and I didn't want to do it.

Jennifer Lawrence

Lexie Grey, where I got the name for my cat so many years ago lol. It was weird finding out that Taylor Swift similarly named her cat Meredith Grey. As she's also a Grey's fan. I believe she also has a car named after Olivia Pope, a character from Scandal which is by the same creator.

Also, my grandmother passed during covid. I didn't get to see her with all the restrictions. From what I heard the hospitals were so overcrowded that she didn't even have a room and was just on a bed in one of the aisles. I found out one day she had passed, luckily after I had left work for the day, as I would have had a breakdown at work probably. Though, that did happen still at work the next day. A weekish before she passed my cat had died in my arms the day before Thanksgiving so I had experienced too much death in such a short amount of time. Then, my mom was diagnosed with cancer and had to go through chemo and multiple surgeries. I was so scared I would lose her. I know I'm of an age now that it's not out of the realm of possibility and something I should be prepared for. But, I really wasn't. I don't think any of us ever really is or can be.

If I remember correctly her cat Olivia is Olivia Benson after the character from Law & Order: SVU

Madeline Jensen

Mariska Hargitay, the actress who plays the character ‘Olivia Benson’ on “Law and Order: SVU”, also has a cat named Karma, named after the Taylor Swift song of the same name.

Jay Johnston

You said 222 and my first thought was "222-2222 great pizza at a great price" 😂

Madeline Jensen

I follow Taylor Swift, but honestly keep up with Mariska Hargitay more because I'm slightly obsessed with the show "Law & Order: SVU" at the moment

Jennifer Lawrence

Lol, that's one of those shows on my long list of "I'll watch this one of these days" shows. I always hear good things. But, series with crazy amounts of episodes are always super intimidating.

Madeline Jensen

I feel you with that. I started watching when they were already on about season 20. If you want to start, though, all 25 seasons are streaming on Hulu (at least in the U.S.). Otherwise, all 26 seasons (the 26th season is the most recent season they're on) are streaming on Peacock.

Jay Johnston

This is now a thread of my thoughts. Danny: I'm sure you've seen Fury Road. Right? Me: the list of shows and movies I haven't seen is long and disappoints my friends and family and now likely Danny 😅

Jennifer Lawrence

I was just looking at all the different Law and Order series as well as spin offs/related series... It's insane lmao. But I'll give it a shot.

I found out a week before my 14th birthday that my dad had cancer but he knew for a year that he had it. I was the last one to find out because he thought he was protecting me by not telling me but it ended up leading to a lot of resentment because I could tell my family was hiding something from me and it had to do with him. I only ended up finding out when I did because he collapsed while I was out with friends, only getting home from the hospital moments before me so he didn't have time to take off the hospital bracelet. He was gone 2 months after my birthday. He lived long enough to meet one of my sister's 2nd child, and to see my mom (they were divorced but still very close friends) along with the 5 children he got to raise all in the same day. None of us got to be with him when he passed though since it was after visiting hours. We also only found out 2 years after his death where he was buried because he made my mom and my siblings that were adults promise not to claim his body which meant the city buried him. It's bittersweet visiting his grave because all that marks it is a little plaque with numbers on it. This June will be 14 years since he passed

Savvy

I’m pretty sure she has two cats one Meredith and one Olivia lol

I also lost a loved one during covid… not because of covid, but due to the shut downs, no one was allowed to visit her in the hospital. She had a sudden stoke at 43… and was alone. This was my aunt who was more of a mother to me than my actual mom. The only relative who ever has shown unconditional love. When covid started I had the option to stay with her and I chose to stay with my boyfriend (now husband) instead. I often wonder if I’d been with her, if I would have gotten her to the hospital sooner and her brain would have survived. Found out from the doctors later, that she was hiding being sick for over a year (liver failure) from damage done 10 years prior. She didn’t want to “burden” anyone or cause me to stop living for her sake. I really wish she would have told me… She just would make excuses like, I have the flu or I think I’m pregnant… I didn’t know the signs of liver disease and was too naive to see it… she was terrified of hospitals and ended up there alone

My mom lost two of her five siblings during covid, seven months apart. She got to see her only brother right before since it was expected but her sister she didn't get to see. I think her sister hit her so much harder because it seemed out of nowhere. My mom took her big sister to a drs appointment to make sure she went, they booked her in because they discovered that she was in heart failure and then 24 hours later she was gone. My mom had been phoning for updates and the person who answered the last time told my mom that her sister was fine, great even. The person who told her that ended up getting reprimanded because they weren't supposed to be giving updates in the first place but finding a dr or nurse that was part of my aunt's case

A lot of people go back and forth with using the last names or first names of the characters. They use both in the show often enough, so most of the time people will know who you're talking about if you use one versus the other. I have never watched Mad Max: Fury Road; it's one of those films I keep meaning to watch (mostly because of Charlize Theron), but still haven't. Val Kilmer portrayed the character of 'Batman/Bruce Wayne' in the movie "Batman Forever" (1995) and George Clooney portrayed the character of 'Batman/Bruce Wayne' in "Batman and Robin" (1997). Both movies had the actor Chris O'Donnell (vet Dr. Finn Dandridge/"McVet" in Grey's) as the character 'Robin/Dick Grayson'.

Madeline Jensen

Taylor Swift has 3 cats one named Olivia, one named Meredith, and the other named Benjamin (after the character 'Benjamin Button' from the movie "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button").

I have an absentee father too. He lived close and just never bothered with my brother and me. He tried blaming me for us not getting together, said I should have gone to see him if I was interested and because I didn't, he figured I didn't want to see him. For the record, I moved out of that area at eleven and when he said that,I was maybe eight. I learned he got married and is an excellent stepfather. Good for him, I don't care, I had an amazing stepfather of my own. One who stepped in, has always called me and my siblings 'his children' and has always been there when we needed him. If anyone asks him if he has kids he says 6 He's a father who has never had children I don't have words that could help or comfort, all I can really say is, I'm truly sorry about your mum

Don't give up on Alex just yet, yes he is a dick, but, just give him a chance to grow

Jazzy Jay 💃🏾

Feel free to be frustrated with Alex trust me we have all been there. His growth is immaculate and it’s a slow cooker for sure. That’s why I love this show, the characters are all flawed and we get to see come ups and breakdowns. Edit: Aunt Jackie had me crying already and then your story just broke my heart, I’m so sorry 💛. And Chris O’Donell!! He was Robin and in both the Val Kilmer and George Clooney Batman, I too call him Robin no matter what character he’s playing 🤣

The last year of Covid was just awful for me. Seemingly similar feeling to what you must have. So lame. Hugs!

Jennifer Lawrence

Sometimes I wonder how growing up would have been different if I hadn't constantly been bullied every step of the way. As well as being punished by teachers for being uncomfortable doing things. Like having to join in on group projects/assignments when nobody wanted me to join their group and would complain the whole time. As if being stuck with me was a punishment. Happened a lot in gym class too when being stuck with me as a partner or on your team would often mean losing. Everything just tanked my self esteem. Maybe if things were different I would have had the confidence to go for it.

Danielle

Ellis is a complex character and her decisions impact Meredith and Richard in ways big and small for many, many seasons to come. Alex’s growth as a character is a thing of beauty so just ride with it. And yes, these characters all have rich backstories and amazing character development and it’s worth it to get to them. It really is. It’s what makes the show so good.

Shani Gribben

The shows Chicago Fire, Chicago PD and Chicago Med are also connected which makes it worse

Jennifer Lawrence

Yeah, as I was reading down the list it launched into a bunch of Chicago ____ shows, lol. My brain went 🤯

bea halonen

i cannot wait for you to love alex. <3

Shani Gribben

My bio father walked out on me when I was 3. He had a few different kids by different women and he picked one of them. Luckily my dad stepped in and adopted me and I haven’t heard from bio father since

My sister died shortly before my 21st birthday. I had been planning to visit her in the hospital because I was nearby and she told me not to visit cause she was getting out the next morning. She died that next morning and I still regret not visiting

lea

intro to grey’s sister… it’s abt to get real! 😭😭

Kelly Terry

Fun fact, Laurie Metcalf(Jackie from Roseanne) and Jeff Perry (Thatcher Grey) used to be married in real life and have a daughter who is also an actor. They also started Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago with John Malkovich and Gary Sinese. Jeff Perry’s current wife is Linda Lowy, who casts all of Shonda Rhimes’ shows

As far as I know celibacy has nothing to do with alcohol or drug consumption, while abstinence can be practiced for all kind of vices including sex, drugs, alcohol. I always thought sexual abstinence can include all forms of sex, even 'self care', but is often used more casual - in staying clear from sexual activities with partner(s) and celibacy is religiously motivated and includes the vow to stay unmarried and without all forms of sex (see nuns, priets, etc.).

danielle hall

Wow fuck this episode going t me my nana passed from COVID witch changed my life forever but just seeing you cry about your mom is the sweetest thing ever I'm now absolutely balling my eyes out at this episode I just lost my mum about a week ago and this episode made me kind of start to prosses that loss and fully lose it which I don't know if it's a good thing or not

Kristen J

I hate that people always blame Ellis for Thatcher's lack of being a father. They got divorced. He didn't show up for Meredith at all after that. Meredith is around 28 years old in this season. He's had plenty of time to reconnect with her. Ellis might have been a bad wife and mother, but she didn't make him a bad father to Meredith, he did that all on his own. And if you do that math (I think Meredith was like 6 years old when they divorced) that means he was either also cheating since Lexi is older than Molly or he was popping them babies out SUPER fast.

Natasha G

THANK you for defending Meredith in the George situation. Yes, what she did was wrong. But it was an accident. It's not like she intentionally decided to sleep with him, and knew about his feelings for her. That case, she would need to apologize. I feel some of this show is dated. And back then we , as a society, were really hard on women. Britney's book on that time period was a good reminder.

Natasha G

And I knew it was odd to say sleeping with someone is an accident. But for those on Meredith's side, she had just seen her father. And she was a little drunk from the bar. George didn't know either of those things, but yeah, that's what I meant in terms of she didn't mean to.
