Someone's a crybaby and someone doesn't quite know what to do with her xD

Guys I'm having so much fun with this episode, I can't wait to finish this thing so I can share it with everyone!! Pops and Tora are finally starting to cross that line from strangers to...more than just strangers! (I'm very intuitive and bad at expressing my thoughts at times, but I think one of you might be able to put this into words better than I can 😆)

Poppy isn't a strong, tough-minded female protagonist - heck, even Yuwa is much more resilient than her. She isn't even particularly clever or savvy. And I think that's because I really want to push the contrast between her and Tora as far as I can. Physically, emotionally, intellectually. Maybe annoying to some, but I feel like the interactions between them will be more fun, this way.

Btw if any of you want a headstart, the recommended song for this ep is "Collide by Howie Day"!

I feel like there are many different definitions of “strong”. Like you don’t have to be that powerful, resilient independent to be considered strong. I think Pops is strong in her own way honestly. When Benjamin got hurt she made sure he was ok like girl i would have taken him to the hospital and peace. I would have never gone into such a dangerous place either like u got me fucked up. People that are kind hearted and soft i consider strong, you know how hard it is to be like that and remain true in this fucked up world? Like kudos to u kid! ILY u Poppy and u a bad bitch forever and anyone who wants to mess with u can catch these hands (Tora? I ain’t afraid of u son on sight is on sight)

I agree with Maria. Poppy is truly strong because she stays true to who she is. Even while she deals with the fears of uncertainty, she works with what she's got to try and make things better. And all the while thinking of the benefit of others and not just herself. And I never thought of her as annoying. Just looking forward to her growing even stronger.

I’m notorious for getting bored with and frustrated with bubbly but dumb female protagonist, but I think that’s really only when the storylines are rushed and the protagonist seems to be a passive (as well as colorless) being within the story. Your Poppy might not be “resilient” in your eyes, but she’s anything but passive. She pursues what she thinks is right and is willing to adapt to any new circumstance that comes her way and it’s really fun to watch her struggle. That sounds cruel but so far she’s a cat and with nine lives. Anytime she ought to be in serious trouble, she manages to land on her feet or wriggle her way out and I think that’s a really cool take on what might have been an archetypal character - cleverness I’ve come to expect from your writing. Not only that, but Poppy isn’t necessarily predictable either, not only does she have some surprising reactions for readers, but she’s also surprising Tora and THAT’s really fun to watch. He’s smarter, tougher, more experienced, and generally has the upper hand, but Poppy is an unpredictable force in his life and it might just be my reading, but that seems to be half the attraction. It’s not just Bad Boy meets Nice Girl, it’s the combination of all the little parts of their personality that compliment or aggravate the other’s qualities. So don’t ever apologize for your amazing work! You’re incredibly talented and thoughtful with your art and storytelling and your comics can stand on their own without any sort of explanation. I love MPL and I can’t wait to see the rest of this story.

Ok imma end it with this (i promise) ; guys gals and non binary folk: idk who need to hear this but there is strength in vulnerability and one is strong in their own way, do not compare. its not about how many times you fall its about how many times you stand up!! Lets get it 2k19!!

This is so adorable, you really start to see the more human and gentler side of him, as opposed to the scary bodyguard. I know they say it’s a wonder Tora has stayed sane after being raised/trained by Balthuman, but I really think Poppy is what’s going to save him. Not in the stereotypical “he needs me I’m a Mary Sue and I’m going to change him with my love”, but in a “he’s in a really rough place and even if I can’t help him externally, I want to make an impact to show him how wonderful he truly is”. I do love how she doesn’t roll with the punches, even though she’s struggling to navigate through all this darkness, she’s still staying herself. I’m so fucking pumped for this chapter!!! To quote my fic: “Poppy was a force of nature, completely unaware to the damage she had done, and yet he wanted more.”

I love your content. However I have one note about the female protagonist, please don't make her unrealistically dumb just for the sake of the plot, as it would lose its charm very quickly. Personally, I wouldn't get a couple that would have very little in common. Best of luck exploring that contrast!

Poppy may not be a tough girl or world-wise, but she kind of has the Sailor Moon vibe where her strengths lie in her empathy and resilience. Even if she's a bit of a crybaby, she's still badass enough to keep pushing on.
