Ugh the art--Poppy looks so beautiful. The comedic parts (Poppy as Pikachu and Quincey huddling away from Tora) are just so funny. Erdene is such a great supporting character and I totally knew she was going to be graphic design! Plot wise he's asking her out awfully late. ::raises eyebrows:: What have you got in mind, Tora?

The smile. THE SMILE! My heart did a happy twirl in my chest. And this chapter really reminded me of how exciting mundane things (like texting) can be when you’re doing them with someone you like. I love that Tora showed his true thirsty colors by assuming that Poppy was trying to ask him out on a date. And the art! I can’t get over it. Tora’s hands are just so beautiful...

Lily doesnt disappoint ever! I loved the conversations between the girls and the guys. I do feel for Quincey lol. But he's asking cuz he's suprised at Tora's reaction. I think it's a little sad that he's possibly never had this reaction to a girl texting him?? And I totally felt his reaction. But i also totally felt Poppy with standing there hyperventilating like HE READ IT. NOW WAT DO? WAT DO!?!? 😅😆 If he she ever mentions (down the line) that she thought he'd consider her a Pikachu, i don't think he'd let her live it down. He'd probably keep bringing it up every now and then to bug her. 😆 like the hamster face thing from before lol Also did anyone notice the puppy face drawn on Q's face?! 😂🤣😂🤣

I fell asleep waiting for this post! 🤣 I'm getting old! I love all this character development so much! If Tora kept a pen/marker in his pants, he's good at hiding it! Man, I've been looking at those pants in great details for the past 2 chapters! 😉🤗 I found it very funny that Poppy is in front of The Patio first. I almost expected Tora to invite her to The Secret Garden restaurant and bar! Can't wait for them to get there and see them flirt or trying to. 🥰

I’m dying to see the comic for next week now. I loved their dinner in the original, I cannot wait to see how it plays out this time. I absolutely love that Poppy is more aware of herself and how the world reacts around her. I also super relate to being small and the “getting away” is better than “getting your way”. It’s such a wonderful way to put it of being aware how the world can move around you and the way you play it safe to keep yourself protected.

Interesting tid-bit: Quincey is spot on with Tora's possessiveness. Notice how Tora got annoyed with Ronzo being a "nosey SOB" for asking about Poppy. And now he's being tight-lipped about who she is to Quincey, even so much as turning his back to Quincey completely. I know some of this is to protect Poppy from the rest of the gang, but Tora definitely relishes in being the only one connected to her.

Poppy & Erdene has me so happy! 😀😁 Just love close girlfriend relationships and bony bitch hugs! 😂 Hope to see more supportive non-man-competitive friendship love. ❤️ Plus need Dene to help Poppy out with a shopping trip and wardrobe makeover! 😂 Total agreement with other comments about Poppy’s character makeover! I love this totally self-aware, smarter-than-you-think-because-she-looks-like-a-cinnamon-roll version! I always loved her fierce attitude and bravery but she was a little too clueless about her surroundings (including the people) and it didn’t make sense to me. She’s pursued this career in publishing and landed an assistant editor job with a publishing company in the big city. Gotta have smarts, drive & talent for that to happen. Finally, shout out to mean French braid skills. 👧🏼 Thoughts on Tora’s smile - I totally took that as a “I got you now and it didn’t take long either” smile, kinda like what Quincey described. 🤔 I think he’s still focused on what ties she might have with Goliath, if she has the notebook in her bag etc. He’s still super focused on the job because that’s who he is, but I don’t think it means he’s not interested. He’s still unaware that she’s immune to tactics that work on other girls, which is going to drive him nuts and make him start thinking about her more and more. You know every girl he’s used to will be there at 9:55 all decked out ... not sure about Pops or if she can even stay up that late? Pushing her bedtime I think. 😴😴

I am so excited for the dinner scene to see what changes lily will make. I am also totally loving the poppy in this episode. I totally relate to being little. it's better some times to not let people know every card in your hand. There was so many comments I wanted to like but I too am having an issue with the app.

The app got screwed up and I couldn’t access my account and coins, so I had to make a new account and buy more coins just to be able to read it on the app because I have the patience of a toddler. 😄 I LOVE this episode!! I love the relationship between Poppy and Erdene and echo all the above comments about how wonderful it was to be able to reflect and learn about just how special Poppy is. This isn’t a girl that you can judge from her appearance alone and I’m really excited to see what Tora does when he’s discovered that this may be a girl that could go toe to toe with him in some battles that he may not be expecting. Side question - what can we do to get our hands on some of the art that you make for smartphone backgrounds? It’s so cute! 🦄 💕

I highly recommend going back and “rereading” the episode without looking at the dialogue at all and just focusing on the body language and facial expressions. I find I get so swept up in the story that while I read it, I miss so many nuances and I become so in awe with the details all over again reading it this way 😍. Also, I just noticed Tora’s way of texting vs Poppy’s. Poppy, the book editor, has perfect capitalization and punctuation, while Tora’s style is so lax, with no capitalized words or commas in sight. I love it!

My mom is 4'9" and when I was about 14 she told me "sometimes it is better to play dumb with certain people and situations to get the outcome you want or need" and honestly as a pretty small woman (not quite as small as her) it resonated with me and to this day I use her advice until I know and trust a person. On the outside we look small, harmless and a bit ditzy but the wheels on the inside are always turning, observing and documenting our surroundings. It is much easier to escape an unwanted situation when the other party has their guard down.

Wait wait wait! 😏I want to say something else: in the first version of mpl, Tora wore dat black hat when he met Pops. Now we got a little more info, in the 13th episode, about that item: Q wants to borrow it cause it looks " bad ass" and if Q wants it that means it is a pretty fine fashionable piece. And if something is pretty obvious about Q, that is his taste in fashion.... So, if my theory is correct, Tora will surely be wearing that hat when he'll meet Poppy and that means not only that he is possessive with his belongings but also means that he's suddenly taken care about how he looks, arrownd her. And that is sooo cute. 💕💕💕

After reading through all the comments I've realized that a lot of people seemed to like that Tora gave Poppy the nickname 'Bobby'. In the original series I actually didn't like this choice. It never felt to me like he was teasing her, just that he didn't care enough to get her name right. He just wanted the notebook, so he was going to string her along and barely put in the effort, just like how he treats a lot of the miscellaneous women throughout the story. I prefer 'Puppy' as a teasing nickname tbh. 😂 With 'Puppy' I think it's more obvious he knows it isn't her name, and also he can make the joke that she follows him around, like a cute little lost puppy. With all of the new character development that we've been given, I wonder if the restaurant scene will still include Tora teasing her by calling her the wrong name? I think he's interacted with her (and is subconsciously interested in her) enough that he would definitely know her name this time around. I'm curious! What is everyone else's thoughts on Poppy's nicknames?
