What Poppy said in her convo with Mr.Lam really touched me. I've lost a lot of family members and a couple of friends and no matter how many years go by it still feels like that. Her character holds a lot more wisdom and maturity than it seems some give her credit for. I absolutely love how we see characters back stories so we can understand and learn about them even more.

Non-romance wise, this is my absolute favorite episode. Grief is such a hard topic to cover in stories, and it makes me so happy that it was included. I know it goes with the story and whatnot, but the fact that people can read it and gain insight in how to deal with grief in their lives is incredible important. I love that about art and I love that Lily included it!

I am like Mr. Lam. That episode really hit the feels. 😭 Poppy is such a pure soul. She really is a ray of sunshine on a rainy day. I couldn't but think about that white van... will it be related to that picture of the teenaged boys? The Ares Street Kingz, where we see Tora in the background helping a young girl? I will have to double check, but I think they were with a van. I absolutely loved her outfits in this episode. So vibrant and professional at the same time. This episode pulled out all the feelings though 💖 The incredibly sweet connection of Poppy's dad making animal rice balls to cheer her up and her making a tiger rice ball for Tora, I just 😭 Where the last episode was so full of Tora's inner thoughts and dialogue while we didn't get too much of an insight into Poppy, this gesture really said it all in how she went that little extra mile to create a moment where they had a connected, shared experience even if he wasn't really aware of it. I can't, Lily this was so beautiful ❤️❤️ - Also, YES Poppy, we see you rocking some more confidence in your position at work 👀 And YES Tora, we love to see that jealous flex over Jacob. Yasss I'm so happy and sad at the same time!!! How much growth and maturity our Pops is showing, oh how I feel for her, but then omg who knew that even the tiger onigiri had some backstory? And the strawberry juice! And I swear if Tora is drinking now strawberry juice because he met her in her teenage years hiking and got to know her and the strawberry thing lasted somehow over the years, than it is too much cuteness for my heart to see. Yes, the van is Ares Kings' and definetly the one Tora is helping in the photo could be Poppy. Also the greek god Tora getting jealous on Jacob although he kind of does the same thing with the sensor in the tree... I'm dead. I mean such a beautiful story, a nice turn of events with mr Lam... my mind is buzzing, I hope I made some sense here. Rant over. I hope. More to come in the morning.

I love MPL such an amazing story. I can read each chapter over and over again, and then just stare at the beautiful art work. I noticed Gil said he took some reports from Poppy’s desk. And she said she was glad she sorted them out before leaving the office! Now this has me thinking a million things. Poppy could have found the notebook while sorting her stuff and that’s why it wasn’t in her bag. She might not have known what to do with it so she might have left it at work... what if Gil found it?! Ahhh I can’t wait for the next episode!

Excuse me, just drying tears here. How wise is our Poppy? Ug it kills me how smart and emotionally connected she is with her own feelings and everyone around her. ❤️ She has this ability to bring Mr. Lam to tears simply through sharing her own experience and empathizing with his grief. In the grocery store when Poppy was on the phone with Mr. Lam there was the picture of him with his wife and it looked like she held either a calligraphy or paint brush. Was she a poet or an artist? Poppy works for a publishing company, so is the deal regarding publishing his wife’s works? I’m dying to know. Flashback to Poppy’s childhood was beautiful and so touching - thank you for that Lily. Oh and Poppy’s outfit was amazing - gurl where can I get those shoes?? 😂

I just want to say how much I adore the way you write! You really have a way with words and consistency of character personalities that creates this really well woven story. Like Poppy showing such compassion to Mr. Lam and admitting to her own faults while offering other skills instead in order to seal a business deal. Her ability to emotionally connect with Mr. Lam also doesn't feel stale or out of place, it's very human and that to me says volumes about your writing capabilities. It's easy to write a story, but to make it feel real is an incredible skill!

This whole episode was great! I love that the beginning episode mentioned how everything is connected and each new episode gives a little more of that. When Tora grabbed the back of his neck and looked down, my sister and I call that “the thing”. For some reason we both find it super endearing and attractive so seeing Tora do it with that possessiveness towards Poppy made him ten times hotter. I’m definitely starting to think the girl Tora helps in the picture is Poppy. I’m also thinking she fell out of the tree (maybe she went up there after her dad died🤔), that parallel of him helping her after a tree fall in the past and saving her from a fall in the present would be so adorable. I loved that Tora remembered her words wrong, shows that he wants her to think of him as handsome, he wants her attraction even if he doesn’t know it yet. I can’t wait to see how their lives intersect again now that the “deal” is done. Will it be through Quincey maybe becoming connected to the publishing company or will they seek each other out? 🤔

The camera is sweating. That’s how intimidating Tora is... 2. Gyu is the Q to Tora’s James bond 3. Poppy is SUCH a caregiver. To thinking of the cab drivers wife, to Adapting her dads little pick-me-up quirks to make Tora feel better, and caring about Mr. Lam?? She looks out for so many people 😭 4. Not his type? ....okay 😏 5. Wonder girl 🥰🥰🥰 they appreciate her so much and it’s so cute how they’re such a tight knit company! 6. Poppy looks like a freakin QUEEN and I want that outfit. Girl is ROCKING that confidence 7. Poppy without a bra, eating a donut and watching old interviews?? I feel seen. And also, girl looks good in her jammies 😍 8. Her dad passing away... I’m still an emotional mess and I needed that good cry but it was still like a knife to the heart. I love her vulnerability. I love that she shares that part of herself with mr. lam. I love that she sees how much his wife’s death hurt him and can both relate, and help him grieve in a positive way. She’s AMAZING AND I WANT TO BE HER 9. SHE HELD HIS HAND WHIILE ASKING HIM TO WAKE UP. So much hand holding and it’s killing me. 10. THE BUTTERFLY. I know I’m yelling a lot but this chapter did a number. Butterflies are a symbol for life after death. And that image of poppy watching the butterfly come down and land on her dad... no. I need to unpack this more but so many feels 😭😭😭 11. And back to poppy taking care of Tora and cheering him up like her dad did for her. Most of my more positive qualities come from watching how my dad treated me, and trying to emulate him. And this act of using her dad’s dorky little surprises to cheer up Tora? Just take my heart already. 12. Also that end scene is going to need some super analysis. Big city folk? Strawberry juice? Why doesn’t her dad really want them to be seen?? Idk what just happened but god it was good. I hope everyone else is alive and well because I’m not sure I am 😂☠️

I have to thank you for this episode from the bottom of my heart. My dad is currently battling a terminal cancer and it keeps feeling like I am stuck on an hourglass watching the sand go down. This hit really close to home, but did it in a beautiful way. The way Poppy described it was the way I feel; fear for him not seeing me graduate, settle down, get married... Fear for when he is not here anymore. In a strange way, it was comforting to see and read those words. That it is gonna be fine. That he will always be there for me, and I will always have the fond memories. That the silly little things will make it so that I can, one day, laugh about it and remember him fondly. There is still time to make them. Thank you for showing I, and many like me, are not alone in this. You did a beautiful job on this episode ❤

Well done @lilydusk ! That was a very emotional episode for me. How you described the grief that Poppy feels it was absolutely touching. I've lost my dad for 9years now. He's gone missing while he was on holiday and we never find out what happened with him. There is no closure for me and this is the hardest "grief" I felt in my life ever. Hard to describe the feeling but I felt s lot of times that I wasn't awarded as the best daughter. I wish he could see how much my life changed and I achieved my dreams, thanks to him. So thank you for this!

First of all, thank you Lily for all your hard work ♡♡ I gotta say I love that I am constantly surprised by Poppy's actions and how smart she is. I guess I got so used to female characters being dumped down and doing weird ass decisions - running of into danger without any thought and constantly overreacting to things they overhear without checking whether they actually understood what they heard - it's such a fresh breath of air to have Poppy!!! She is such a good leading female character. I keep falling in love with her with every chapter that I read (I would love to read, maybe even write an in depth essay about Poppy ♡.♡) I was talking to my friend (who is just as hooked on this webcomic as I am ^^) about how we were really surprised how thoughtful it was for Poppy to not actually go into the club - we were expecting a typical damsel in distress situation (not that I have anything against that!) But she keeps on surprising us and doing things where I always catch myself thinking 'Huh, that's smart - wouldn't have thought of that'. In this episode again! How genius of her to turn her camera on - I really need to learn something from our girl. I thought the same when Poppy mentioned that she would have invited friends to come along to her meeting with Tora. My first reaction to that was 'nooo, Poppy why would you do that - get him alone' But then I thought - 'Why wouldn't she get others to cover her back!!...that's what any sane and thoughtful person should be doing especially with the info she got on Tora. Although I loved that she got to meet him alone (like everyone here I am super eager for as much Tora/Poppy time as I can get). Our girl is so smart to arrange something like this with the webcam to make sure she can get help. And how quickly, she must have come up with that plan. Also, love her for confessing to him right after - like she didn't want to keep something from him but her common sense also makes sure not to blindly trust her feelings. I guess because we've got insight into Tora's feelings and thoughts, I know he's save for Poppy and that's why I keep forgetting that for Poppy it's not the same. I can't thank you enough for keeping track of characters and plot so insanely well. Aaaah, I want to say so much more about Poppy like how she's showing so many soft skills - so much emotional intelligence with Tora and Mr Lam. I crown her my queen of soft skills. She's killing everyone with kindness ♡♡♡ I live for a character that has so many different traits. She's sweet and feminine, sometimes a little clumsy but also quite cunning, intelligent and strategic. To sum up, I LOVE POPPY ♡♡♡

Ok, after a few hours of sleep (overrated if you ask me) I am back with a huge post. After the excitement toned down, I started thinking and I came up with this: 1. Is she the girl from the photo? Does she know Tora from before? Well here there are two options: one is that she went there after her father’s death, 6 years ago, then she would have been 15 and Tora 20. Tora from the photo looks more like 16-17. Also in 6 years time I think she would have rememberd him? Even longer than that, the tattoo on the neck is hard to forget. The second option is that she went there shortwhile after the discussion with papa Pops so maybe she was like 12 or 13... this is more likely if we are going to entertain the theory that they met before. 2. Where IS that notebook? I think that maybe she did not have it in the first place. That the notebook is still with Goliath or his attackers and that one page fell off during the fight. She is meticulous and pretty careful with her work, not to mention she searched in the first ep through the files when she noticed that a page was missing from her interview, don’t you think she would notice a strange foreign notebook? Also she is a stationery freak, I mean... The second theory is that she cleaned the reports a night before as she tells Gil and found the notebook and done something with it. But the night before she followed mr. Lam and before that she was interrupted by Erdene who dressed her, the same time she left the bunch of files on the desk. Would she had been so focused and so casual with Tora if she knew what that notebook contained? What do you think?

Poppy recalled being bullied in the past, so I'm wondering if when she goes to check out the people from the city, if they bully her. I'm wondering if she was up in a tree and they steal her rope to get down, so she falls and Tora is the only one to check on her.

Let’s take a few steps back.. Who are the couple in the room when Poppy’s father was laying in the bed?? Could it be her mom with a new someone?? Remembering back to one of Poppy’s research paper, Tora read the content. Could it be her dads words?? She seems to like pastries herself..

I'm all aboard the Poppy gave Tora a strawberry juice box train. What I'm curious about is why she wouldn't remember him. I started to think that maybe he used a different name. Is Tora his real name? Or was it a name given to him by Vincent? Also, is Poppa Pops afraid of the white van because people have gone missing? Like, how did they get Tora in the first place? It would make sense to want to avoid it if you can't defend yourself. Also, in the picture with the Ares Street Kings, the girl is wearing a school uniform, but Poppa Pops said it was summer vacation. Where is Poppy's mom? So many questions!!

IKR?? So many questionssss - Where’s her mom? Who are those people besides granny? Do they have something to do with the backstory? - The van, probably Ares Street Kingz with Tora in it. That photo, most likely Poppy cause of the hair and its color! - Why she wouldn’t remember him? Maybe he didn’t cause that much of an impression for her, his hair was different, he had less muscles, didn’t have tattoos all over, etc. She might have caused a big impression in him but not the other way round. - Strawberry juice: might be a coincidence or something related to their past, who knows! - Her outfit: after people being extremely mean to Lily when she first changed Poppy’s outfit (it was different from Discover version) and she had to modify it, she ONCE AGAIN took the feedbacks and started making AWESOME CLOTHES for Poppy, which she mentioned that was HARD. Thank you for being awesome, Lily, you got me amazed. - Her dad: I think it really was cancer, not something related to the mafia, I couldn’t see her dad as freaked out, I think he was just being cautious cause he knows the dangers of the city, but isn’t related to it. - Mr. Lam: cuteeee, I love when the authors let men cry, they have feelings too! They deserve confort and Poppy did it in a subtle way, loved it, I hope she gets the deal! - Notebook and Gil: idk what to think about it, I remember it was inside her BAG, I don’t think he would just open her bag and do whatever he’d like without permission, he might have seem things that were only on her desk... And I don’t think she’s aware of that notebook yet (and maybe she never will be cause Tora told Ronzo they were getting it “tonight” so... we have to wait and see) TORA BEING CUTE: I though he would have questioned his BADUMP a bit more, what did he think about his reaction? He treated that as normal?? Despite his jealousy, I couldn’t really catch his exact feelings...

Vincent is flipping through it and Poppy's business card is lodged in there... AND that's how she gets looped into this mess. 🤔🤔🤔 And the creepy yadori guy is sent to fetch her or something..... then Tora is alerted because his guys are watching him and shit really hits the fan 😱😱😱😱😱

My boyfriend passed away from blood cancer 5 years ago this July....this episode hit me hard. When he was in the hospital his grandmother got 2 of those caterpillar kits and named one Victoria and the other Darren(my bf). On the day of his memorial service, the caterpillars turned into butterflies and they flew away together.... ever since butterflies have held a lot of significance to me and always make me think of him. So, I just loved seeing them in the flashback with her dad ❤❤ Butterflies also symbolize personal transformation and growth , which Poppy and Tora continue to showcase each episode 🦋 I think what was so great about the latest episode was that everyone can relate to it....everyone has dealt with loss and grief in some form. Mad kudos, respect and love to Lily for her ability to convey these strong emotions so accurately through her art!!

I’m on the bandwagon for Poppy being the girl in the picture. Now hear me out, we know that the flashback was during summer break, so why would it be Poppy if the girl was in a school uniform? Well I think the guys took more than a day trip out of the city and spent a while out there. So what if the picture was taken the day they were going back home from their vacation, which also happened to be the first day of school for Poppy and she was on her way to school???
