Many things going on and between losing my marbles and everything else, I got... not a lot except PTERODACTYL SCREAMS. I wanted to comment on how delectable Quincey gets with every single episode. Am I a greedy girl? You betcha. Him wearing that aqua sweater almost brought tears to my eyes, and seeing him smoking/lighting the cigarette for Tora incinerated my pants. (I can already imagine the outcry at Tora smoking while sick and will not hesitate to pull a Chris Crocker and cry LEAVE TORA ALONE! If needed be). Bye. Poppy with road rage gave me life I didn’t know I needed, and Tora must be really out of it if he has no complaints with Poppy driving his car. Food for thought. This is going to be an ode to Quincey and I don’t even care anymore. I loved that he’s self aware enough not to drive, and that he still wants to go through with the deal despite him not having read the contract! I think that speaks a lot about his character, and him texting Poppy to confirm that he would melted my heart. I’m not going to entertain tinfoils about what the hell happened to Poppy’s hair tie thingy because I lack the energy to do so and, frankly it stresses me out. Benjamin took it because he is secretly in love with her? Lol I just wanted to throw something outlandish out there just to contradict myself and make you giggle. I knew this episode would pull at all my heart strings ...and it did just that! And that cliffhanger was the cherry! - Tora and Quincey- what a good people reader Quincey is. He could tell that Tora was part faking his faint, just because he was embarrassed with the way he behaved. I second the patron who said they have a nice relationship. Given how much Tora has been through, I am happy he has Quincey and Gyu to rely on. -Poppy- it sounds like she would have liked to stay and take care of him, but the most sensible thing to do was to go home. Her coming back reminded me of the SG when Tora was sick and she brought him soup. Oh and the road rage! I get like that sometimes, and have to censor myself because of my son. - Tora- can we acknowledge the fact that he is vulnerable now? Poppy now knows where he lives. Their relationship is no longer unidirectional and mysterious, the ‘Poppy calls, Tora shows up’ type. Also, if he was faking the faint (partly?!) was he just admiring Poppy from the back seat? All in all, Lily thank you for your hard work and oh my God what am I going to do until next Friday?

Our thanks to the MPL Goddess and her team for blessing our Saturday morning! 🙏 Quincey, in this episode, totally makes up for the chaos he inadvertently instigated during dinner, 😳🤭😰 muehehehe. Quincess B is more reliable and stronger than he lets on: carrying Tora while managing to light him a cigarette and then lugging him through 6 flights of stairs! 😤The whole gesture was incredibly thoughtful 🤗, even in mafia standards. I am all for exploring the brotherhood that is Quincey's Angels! 🙌🏼 And his moments with Poppy were perfection.😍😍 Speaking of Poppy, 😘 of course, our girl knows how to drive a sports car! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 Our little hamster is happily destroying stereotypes left and right! 😤 Geez - what the hell Julri was thinking?! Forget that son of a biscuit 😡, her intelligence, attitude, and charisma will be appreciated by a 6'3 Greek god - who looks sexy as f*ck even after suffering from a high fever. 🔥🔥🔥 Aside from mad driving skills (easy on the road rage sweetheart 😅), she a professional, and I love how giddy she was when Quincey complimented her 😘. I am looking forward to their cute editor-diva author shenanigans. 😍 It's safe to say that Tora and Poppy won't be able to avoid each other, even if they tried. 😜💖 The universe has other ideas - and we👏 are👏 here👏 for 👏 it 👏 ! So, shall we expect a heartwarming reconciliation scene between the two next week? Perhaps, at the very least, a honest conversation on where they stand. 🤞🏻 Tora may begrudgingly allow Poppy in his apartment, especially if she has a tiger bento box with her - muehehehe. 😘 But my soul is also ready for Tora to drop a sexy (and wholesome) innuendo or two 😘😘😘 and show her them obscene dimples (among other things). And did someone say an intimate sponge bath and then cuddles (SG #74 and #96!!!)? This episode did leave an important question: the red hairpin. (Puts tin foil hat on 🤔🤔🤔) Many suggested that Tora may have the pin. It's plausible, but Tora already has the 🍓 tie. So my guess it found its way to a henchman; worst if its someone who noticed Poppy that night in Club Miracle. 😨😨😨 The plot thickens!

But I’m also a bit nervous about shady Gil and what this will mean in the future. If it turns out Gil has the notebook and is leaking info, there is no way Vincent is going to think Poppy was not involved. It will be even worse if he discovers Tora’s connection to Poppy 😱 8. What is the Cordy connection? I really feel like she is going to play a role in the Balthuman Organized crime take down. 9. I keep wondering if Cordy is using Quincey because she is really trying to get dirt on the Balthuman Organization. Like she knows exactly who’s son Quincey is and he’s going to be crushed in the end. 10. I’m so ready for Tora and Poppy to declare their love, get married and make gorgeous babies. I know it’s too soon but 🤷🏽‍♀️

Poppy is so small in that driver’s seat 😂 I’m just under 5’3” and I’ve been there, it’s a serious struggle when the car isn’t short person-friendly. I was dying of laughter when she started road raging (I scared the dog who was sleeping on the other end of the couch, 🤭 sorry, Mika, my bad😆) 🤣 little hamster has some fire in her! I was kinda hoping she’d secretly be a badass driver and ship around that other car like it was nothing but this led Quincey to direct her to Tora’s apartment instead of his and now she knows where Tora lives *happy dance* So it was the hair pin in the box. 🤔 She says is an ornament she turned into a pin so she could wear it if she wanted. I’m thinking it was something from her father (or her mother, though I’m leaning father). That reminds me of the cross my grandmother gave me, it’s something I wear to kind of feel her presence since she lives so far away. It could be she converted it into something wearable so she could feel close to her father or her mother. It’s obviously very important to her since she kept it in that kinda fancy box. My cross is in a really pretty little box that’s been passed down with the cross for three generations. I wonder what happened to it? I would think maybe Tora took it but he left with Poppy so it’s either still in the room or Benjamin might have taken it 🤔 unless Tora grabbed it later, I guess that’s possible. But I think he’d recognize that pin is a little more conspicuous than the hair tie. It would also be something I wouldn’t think he’d decide to just keep even not knowing it’s importance to her personally at the time. It’s too pretty, almost looks expensive and I don’t think he’d try to keep it from her. He’s also possessive of his stuff, I don’t think he’d try to take hers. The hair tie is something she gave him herself, that’s different. I love Poppy’s integrity. She really needs Quincey for the deal with Mr. Lam but she’s realizes Quincey just signed the contract as an excuse for why Poppy was there. Like she said, trying to save himself from the wrath of the sickly tiger. Even though she has his signature on the contract and could easily enforce it, she gives him an out. She doesn’t want him to sign on unless he really wants to, even knowing it would lose them the deal with Lam. Quincey sees that integrity in her and you can tell he really appreciates it. After the shitty experience he had with Mr. Morrison, Poppy showing she cares more about his artistic preferences over her win in getting him to sign probably sold him on the idea more than the contract and proposal could have. We are all also curious on how she’ll take seeing the mancave, Quincey. You should have invited her up, dang it 😒 And excuse me?! “HIS BABIES”?! WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?! My first thought is pets of some kind but when he returned home there were no cats or dogs 🤭 birds, lizards 🤔 WAIT?! Does he have hamsters?! Maybe that’s where he got the hamster “fetish”/comparison for Poppy from (jk...but maybe not 🤗). All I know is please, for the love of God, don’t let it be spiders 🙅🏽‍♀️ Nope! Nope! I’m gonna need a trigger warning if it’s spiders, dead serious 😰 Little Poppy trying to hold Tora up is so cute. Now, Tora, you just wrap your arms around her shoulders and we’ll be good to go 🤗 Quincey sewing right though Poppy’s flawless make up game to notice the dark circles. This whole thing with saying goodbye to Tora seems to be keeping her up at night ☹️ Poor Poppy, isn’t getting sleep, and Tora’s faint will probably make her worry even more. 🤣 Quincey is such a character telling Cordy he can’t carry Tora himself and then biggie backs his giant sexy ass up 6 flights of stairs. I knew all that muscle wasn’t just superficial. Sure, he wants to look good but you gotta know how to lift properly to get someone like Tora up there without hurting yourself. It’s very deceptive, like he said “he looks like a dandy”, he doesn’t look like he could do this at first glance, he’s dressed fancy doesn’t look like he’d want to do grunt work but he’s stronger than people would assume. Tora exudes strength while Quincey plays it down, which is an interesting contrast between these two friends. Quincey knows Tora’s need for cigarettes and has the presence of mind to grab them for him from the car and even lights one for him. That is a strong friendship. Quincey may have royal messed up with this whole scheme but he truly cares for and wants to take care of Tora. He admits that he skewed things up and wants to talk to Tora about what’s going on but he knows Tora enough to know Tora might not want to talk about it right now and he accepts that. Quincey called himself a bachelor so it’s confirmed he’s not officially with Cordy 🤔 Quincey thinks it was an act too! I’m not far off then 🤔 I think it was a little dramatized to get everyone out of there. “Play up the sickness so they’ll need to take me home” kinda thing. There banter reminds me of Poppy and Tora. When Tora said f*ck you and Quincey goes yeah sure but then tells him Cordy might not be happy about sharing. All those times Tora made sexual innuendos at Poppy, here’s a taste of his own medicine 😂 The part where Poppy is staring at her phone after Quincey’s text, it looks like there was supposed to be a thought bubble in the next panel but it got covered by the panel of Poppy looking at her phone 🤭 oh no! Great Queen Lillydusk, what was she thinking? I love how happy Quincey is meeting Poppy’s coworkers and how touched he is that they genuinely enjoy his work. He deserves that ☺️ Jacob just can’t stop putting his foot in his mouth 😪 thank you Erdene for that quick intervention 🤣 though I’m confused why she asked “Who hurt you” when Quincey was gushing, her and Jacob already talked about what Morrison’s company did to him, does she mean something else? 🤔 Quincey projecting his inner insecurities about his work into Tora 😂 we see you! Tora’s too supportive of you, he listens to your stories and we assume gives feedback at times. I don’t think he’d ever tell Quincey his work sucks. Quincey mentions a toxic person he can get rid of but I don’t think it’s actually Tora, those that’s who he was just thinking about. Like I said before, I think those are Quincey’s insecurities after all the work Morrison told him wasn’t good enough and then stole. Maybe now that he has people who really care about his work and want to work with him, he’s realizing he can have more confidence in his work and let go of the negatives that Morrison fed him for a year. I also love how casual Quincey looks here, his clothes are very simple for what we’ve seen him wear. The outfit actually reminds me of something Tora might wear like maybe he stayed the night at Tora’s and borrowed something from him. I love how the color compliments his eyes 😍 Yup, Poppy still didn’t get sleep. Poor thing! Oooohhh, Quincey, you sneaky sneaky princess. I see what you did there 🧐 I bet the rest of that conversation went “You know I was supposed to take Tora some stuff but I’ve got...a thing...and I can’t now. Maybe you could drop it off for me?” Anyone wanna take that bet? 🤣 I say that about the “drop off stuff” ploy because Poppy never saw them go to the door so how else would she know exactly which apartment was Tora’s if Quincey didn’t just tell her? She left before they went upstairs and she just walked right up to his door. That nervous rustling of the bag. I felt that. I’m so nervous for her. How is this meeting gonna go after the train wreck of a dinner? How is he going to react to her being at his door? Knowing where he lives? Will he let her in or make her leave? How’s she going to react to his apartment and how will he react to her reaction to the apartment? WHAT are his “babies”? They need to be hamsters! 🐹 (think this is actually a guinea pig but it’s close 🤷🏽‍♀️🤣) So, Tora, Mr. Lock Your Door and Don’t Leave the Balcony Open does not have a peep hole on his door? 🤔 Is that not something that’s common where you are, Lilydusk? Cause if that’s the case, this makes sense then because I noticed Quincey’s apartment didn’t have one either. Tora’s already looking down at her when he opens the door, kinda like how Quincey opened his door that night and was automatically looking up above her head. Makes me think he open the door wishing or hoping it was Poppy and then we see his wide-eyes shock when he processes that it actually is Poppy. Also, Tora looks great in that tank top and I’m glad Poppy gets to see him in it because her love of art is going to draw her eye to those gorgeous tattoos and the body they’re inked on which means Lilydusk will have to give us lots of panels of drool-worthy Tora. And then there’s Poppy looking super beautiful and so cute in her cactus shirt and what looks like the same skirt she wore to Chevy’s....was that secret garden hint? 😱 I know the clothes are different in that picture but she mentioned man cave and Poppy’s wearing the same skirt 🤷🏽‍♀️ I can dream. I absolutely love you work, Lilydusk! This story and these characters have brought so much joy and excitement to my life. Having this to look forward to every week has really helped with the isolation and lack of fun activities Covid has caused. There’s a lot about this story that is relatable and so many things to love about these characters, to feel like we know them. It’s easy to see that you put a lot into making this amazing and I’m so grateful that you share it with all of us. Thank you so much!

I love Poppy and Quincey’s dynamic. Poppy’s driving style shows that she does not censor herself even around famous authors. Respect. Damn I was secretly hoping she’d do a slamming reverse 180 when she saw that grandma’s car. Loved her contract negotiations. Lol, true, girl, contract signed under duress is voidable. Also not valid without other party’s signature. In any case, behaving with integrity and offering to void creates client trust, rapport, and voila! Now you’ve landed your big fish and secured the Lam investment. Brava! Hairpin is important, duly noted. Where is hairpin? In the same intriguing box as notebook, third life Poppy saved, Goliath, Gyu’s 7th job, and a host of other cool stuff which are worth waiting for. Love that even on the raggedy edge of consciousness, Tora doesn’t trust either of them to drive. Love that Quincey, for all his pampered fluffiness does not take the easy road out when it comes to getting his friend home safe. Nope, he squats and hauls. He’s an honorable fellow under all that snail jelly. Interesting that Gil is not hovering about for the NDA signing or to execute the Lam project contract. Erdene is so freaking gorgeous. Quincey still matchmaking. Yes, send her with soup to your bro’s place. Getting used to Quincey’s signature double hand clench over his heart gesture. I love that part of the character styling includes signature gestures. Reminds me of Kurosawa, who did that with his actors to make them visually recognizable. One of my favorite elements visually was the tree in front of Tora’s apartment building. After all the dark evening action, my eyes were so happy to see Quincey’s bright simple sweater and Poppy’s blinding yellow folder, and the burst of colors that is Erdene, but that tree! Leaf and leaf and leaf and leaf and leaf and leaf and leaf - no idea why, but all the leaves made me happy. Weirdo. And I just loved the lighting in that final scene. The slant and golden tint in the light signals afternoon, so she’s coming by after work. Look at the pretty dapples in the frame of her from the back pausing while she contemplates his door. Also wonderful lighting in the next frame as she approaches. His door is in shadow but then a magical sunbeam illuminates the koi, then his face, then expands as the camera zooms in to light all of him. Going by the previous frames she should be in shadow in the last frame but instead she’s brightly illuminated. Art not physics; I read this lighting as symbolic or metaphoric, as though in that last frame she has her own light source. I am all for it, so beautiful that lighting in the whole last sequence. Along with the happy tree that was my favorite visual from this episode. Thank you again for this gorgeous, funny, complex, intriguing, sexy, and wonderful story.

I just have to tell you that Tora's apartament door can't be placed like that : Firstly, if it's the entrance door, the hinges can't be on the exterior side (plus, it can be easily unhinged from it's place!!!) And now we have role reversal.  I gotta say one of the things that immediately struck me about the exterior of Tora’s apartment was that damn door. 👀👀 It just screams “stay the fuck away.” and if I’m honest- so does the whole complex. This drab place contrasts so much with Poppy’s presence in her bright and cheery clothing.  And Jesus,  this panel where Tora opens the door more fully and light bisects his figure- his light  has returned. 😭😭💜💜 You are seen, honey, let that light shine on you- let it warm you and heal you. 😭😭 And boy can we tell he needs it- our tiger didn’t appear to get much sleep last night either; I see those dark corners in your eyes and that rudolph nose. Time for some Poppy TLC.  My last thoughts on this episode- I have a sense that these last panels are a huge turning point in Tora and Poppy’s relationship. She’s about to see a very intimate side of Tora that he’s already seen of her. When I was glancing at the last panels, it dawned on me that Poppy hasn’t seen Tora’s tattoos in their entirety- she’s only seen his forearms if memory serves me correct. And knowing how personal those tattoos are and being in *his* space tells me Tora is going to feel quite vulnerable in the next episode.👀👀  For someone who tries to hide who he is on the inside, he’s going to be stripped down metaphorically in front of Poppy.  It reminds me so much of the first episodes of this comic where Poppy felt like the exposed, vulnerable one. Wow, just wow... You never cease to amaze me Lily 😌 I would like a moment to really appreciate how detailed you are with everything. I like how everything is significant in the story line, I looooove how effortlessly all the art looks. I know you slave away day and night, working on this master piece. I wanna let you know that it doesn’t go unnoticed and just want to really thank you for all of your works. Also, I love how you don’t shy away from making each character their own by having different body positioning. Like you did when Quincey was talking to Erdene and Jacob. You just know how to draw body positions really well, almost fluid like. You give them more of a natural real person feel to it.. if that makes any sense haha i struggle with this and tend to make people look stiff, but i really look up to how you draw🥰 On days that I feel down, I just read your stories and feel euphoric🤍😌 unless it’s some SG... that’s a different story 😉 but none the less, the art is impecable. Awesome chapter, as always! I love how quincey is portrayed! There's definitely more to him than meets the eye! It seems like he's playing weak a lot and making others underestimate him in purpose. He asks cordy to help him with Tora when he can piggy back him up 6 flight of stairs as soon as no one is watching. He's still a drama queen but these subtle changes as soon as it's just him and Tora are superb! I love these multi faceted characters, I'm more in love every week! The only thing I didn't get is what exactly made the "thud " sound in the panel where quince decides to being tora to his own home? Is it that Tora let's his hand drop after pointing out the car in front?

I don’t have much to add to the analysis since the ladies before me covered almost everything. I love the reversal of roles here: Poppy being the tough one, the strong one, the reliable one, and Tora being vulnerable and in need to be taken care of. The same goes for Poppy showing up at his house, unannounced bringing food? Gosh, I secretly hope she will make him a T-Rex shaped rice ball someday, but maybe this time some comfort soup? Yes, comfort food and a hearty talk sound good. Some cuddles sound even better. Will Tora gather up some courage to kiss the little feisty hamster? We discovered more of Quincey’s character and it’s hard not to fall in love with him. We have a glimpse of the insecurities he’s trying to hide in his discussion with Erdene and Jacob and I don’t think it’s about Tora being a hard beta reader (this is more like Q drama than seriousness), but maybe about the way he was treated by his last publisher or by his father or just simply the writer’s imposter syndrome (it takes a lot of courage to put yourself into writing as some of you know, so being acknowledged sometimes means a lot to one self-esteem). Also, I absolutely love the brotherly relationship he has with Tora, bracing himself to carry him 6 flights of stairs, lighting a cigarette for him (which he so thoughtfully picked up from the car), wishing to apologize and set things straight and talk. He is indeed a sweet human being, the question remains how did he grow up to be so under the influence of a father like Vincent? Can I swoon over the last panels? The light, the pacing, their expressions when they see each other...oh it’s going to be a long week! Thank you again, Lily, for enriching our lives with such a wonderful story!

I'm going to comment first and then go read everything, so sorry if I hit on something that's already been clarified or discussed to death. I hope Tora felt well enough to listen and absorb all of Poppy and Quincey's conversation. Poppy driving because she and her friends would sneak out is precious. Who knows where they went? A party, skinny dipping at a closed pool or can Tora not picture her going anywhere other than a 24 hour bookstore? Poppy's hair clip. I knew there was a reason why Lily highlighted it so much while Poppy was wearing it. Especially in chapter 25 when she's standing outside the entrance to club miracle with the large Balthuman crest on the wall. I thought it had come from Erdene at that time, but now I realize it was Poppy's own. Not too much tinfoil on it, I think it's either a gift she received from someone significant that's no longer in her life or an ornament that was her mother's. Is this also a hint at her mother's name? It looks like a Rose? Let's see we've got Lily the author, Poppy the MC, peonies on another MC and now a rose.... Poppy and Quincey discussing the contract. Poppy was ready to void the whole thing since she knew that Quincey signed under duress, and Quincey reacting like it was him being rejected hurt my heart. "I swear I won't give you a hard time" like he knows he's rumored to have diva issues, but I imagine a lot of what people 'know' about dealing with Q.B. Noyoko stems from having a predatory editor/publisher who was stealing from him. Quincey set up dinner to get his friend a date, and ended up getting himself a new professional relationship with someone who has his best interests in mind. Poppy's already advocating for him before they even start work. Car... Ok Tora, we see you, you might be feeling poorly, but you're still aware of your surroundings and looking out for danger. Also, thud. RIP Tora's face. Going to Tora's instead of Quincey's. Tora doesn't live in Quincey's basement!?! Quincey wanting to keep things moving along with Poppy and Tora, but realizing Tora's place isn't the proper avenue for it, so he orders up a cab. Nice to see Quincey does have a sense of awareness and self preservation after all the missteps of the evening. Tora's babies? It's guns, right, guns.. but knowing Lily and her curve balls, it's going to be something like his mint condition beanie baby collection or pet tigers he keeps in his bedroom, is that why he sleeps on the couch!?! Poppy's tiny hand holding up Tora's back in contrast to their date at Alice's when Tora's hand took up her whole back. 😍. Poor Tora. He knows he done messed up, Poppy and Quincey basically living in their own little world ignoring him, talking about him, but not to him. He doesn't look like he's just sick, but like he's just completely defeated. Quincey! Who gave you permission to be so strong?😳 The relationship between these 2 is amazing. Calling Tora out on acting like a baby while he's literally being carried up to bed like one. But, yes for Quincey with that clapback about asking Cordy first 🤣 I'll get to more tin foiling on that at the end. Quincey at the office just being so relived to work with people who appreciate him, that's doing nothing but solidifying my theory that Morrison was sabotaging his name to prevent anyone else from wanting to work with him. Yeah. That's what I'm going with. And going in for the kill talking about Poppy's bags under her eyes AGAIN. Why are you making such a point out of this Lily? What are you about to throw out way? Poppy and her eye bags and her hand bags going to see Tora. Time for theories.... First, Poppy: late nights working on the proposal Quincey signed without reading, a late night picnic, and a night staying up preparing for working with Quincey the next day while thinking about a sick Tora and his mafia confession, yeah, girl is gonna have some bags under her eyes! Quincey: his interactions with Cordy and Poppy are making me feel like while Tora was abused and tortured, Quincey didn't get out of childhood unscathed either. He focuses on love and seems very sensitive to rejection; it's not a big step to think that Vincent emotionally abused our Quincess and withheld love and affection, which is why Quincey focuses on it now. Being a pushover, to keep from upsetting someone who's voitile, allowing others to see you as meek when you can carry a giant up 6 flights of stairs. Yeah, Quincey and Tora share a bond that was probably forged by the trauma of growing up with Vincent. Next episode what I think will happen: Tora is going to say some smartass thing about Poppy trying to wreck his car and Poppy is going to throw food at him and leave. She just wanted to make sure he's ok and try to clear the air since she's working with Quincey now and they'll have to keep running into each other. What I want to happen- secret garden stuff, I mean, Tora's arms, Poppy in a skirt, come on!

I loved Quincy the entire episode. He has such a good heart😭. I am excited about the next episode after seeing all the tigers den SGs lol 🥵. There are so many things I am waiting for to be revealed like what happened with gyu tora and quincy (remember they were tearing up), quincy and toras childhood, poppy and toras possible meet when they were young, alice’s son and tora, poppy’s mom, etc. There’s so much depth in the story and the characters are so complex. I am in love with MPL. It’s not just our tiger boy and pop-pop’s romance. I feel so deeply invested in every single characters story. This really is a masterpiece in making.

Is it we get to see her enter in to something all dolled up or would it be more genuine to allow her to enter into the realness??? This way she may pick up on the way he views himself..... just very little inside, (like his apartment) longing to be loved an expressive, (like his apartment needs) dark, (like his apartment) etc... Much like Poppy I’m sleep deprived and not firing on all cylinders but here are my thoughts on what I’ve been thinking 🥱 I desperately wanted cuddles last night but Lily, in her wisdom, told the kids it’s was time to go to bed. They all needed to sleep off that night and come back with a clearer head. I’m sure Quincey wanted to discuss that whole “I’m in the mafia” declaration but was still considerate enough to ask if he was up for talking. Tora was OVER IT and I don’t blame him. Hearing him admit he’s depressed did something in my soul. I swear if I could reach in and hug my baby I’d never let go. Poppy showing up to his door made me fangirl squeal. Her outfit and hair are reminiscent of the day Tora surprised her at her apartment. Obviously Tora showed up with a motive but mostly wanted to see her one more time. I wonder if this will be mirrored for Poppy. She obviously wants to make sure he’s feeling ok and probably hella curious about his life that he keeps from her but I think she also just wanted to see him again. And so did we. That tank top 🥵 Hopefully the babies (which I assume are his guns) are put away. Or not. Maybe the guns and apartment will make it real for her. Maybe that’s what they both need before they can truly move forward. Who else thought Tora and Quincey lived in the same building 🤨🤔 That little hand on Tora’s back was the sweetest abstinence porn I’ve ever seen. It’s was such a stark contrast to that giant of a man. To me that hand was a visual representation of the rock they’ve become for one another. Even in the midst of trying to stay away from each other (and failing miserably) that hand says I’m here to keep you steady whenever you need me. Speaking of holding steady, Quincey honey we see you 😍. Guess those muscles aren’t just for show. The way he cares for Tora makes me gush. The cigarette moment hit home for me about the way Quincey cares for Tora. He’s constantly thinking about Tora’s silent needs. Quincey had years to study him and he used that time well. There’s so much love between them. Tora doesn’t seem like the type that lets people take care of him (outside of giving him food) so letting Quincey carry him and hand feed him cigarettes is a pretty intimate moment. I wonder if Quincey has ever had to carry him before? I also wonder what their childhood looked like from Quincey’s perspective? The fact that Quincey seems so in tune with Tora’s needs makes me wonder if there is any overcompensation for the lack of love and consideration Tora experienced as a child or if Quincey is just best friend level: MAX. Side note: can we talk about how good Quincey looks in green 😍

Or maybe he's gonna give it to the sister he was claiming he had there back in Miracle? - other tinfoil is: He interrupted Scharch's scheme to murder Mr. Lam that night. Maybe Scharch will go after the boy to get him to "pay" for what he's done (insert scene in which he's doing a cut throat hand gesture) and the boy will say a lady paid him to do it. He doesn't know who she is but "here, this belonged to her" and then Scharche is on Poppy's trail....... - the things is, nothing in this story is a coincidence and the dots are all connected so I wouldn't be surprised the hairpin had its own plotline to come

This episode was so nice and funny. Thank you! plus I have to say Quincey has so much charisma, like ... his personnality is great. he is caring without being over the top which contrasts with his flamboyant appearance. It is amazing the way you make these contrasts in each of your characters. Like they are not totally bad and selfish or not totally nice. It is so enjoyable and philosophical for me. With Tora they are not friends, they are brothers. I really love Quincey the most, He is so oblivious and sweet. Probably you will pull something else next week and I will flip flop and throw myself to another character. Anyway it was amazing, like always.

Most likely we will have an entire chapter full of Poppy + Tora heart to heart......or so I hope. But I’m gonna attempt at analyzing this chapter, this is my first time doing so here we go!!! So starting off with Tora fainting in the restaurant.....I don’t think he faked it necessarily, I just think he exaggerated and to be honest Tora is not good at these situation especially with a girl he actually likes. Tora is soo used to people being afraid and intimidated by him that when a small tiny thing like poppy comes along and allows him to let down his guard he sometimes doesn’t know how to necessarily take it. She’s able to talk back to him when he’s angry with her for no reason, she’s able to look him in the eyes, she’s able to get close to him in a way no one has ever done before well except for his two best buds. And let’s not forget she decked him in the nose.....this small little hamster did that because she’s able to allow him to let his guard down around her. And for Tora that must be....,nice Now I do think Tora feels bad about the way he treated poppy......and considering they had that talk on the picnic about her Ex boyfriend and how he messed up her self esteem. For him to talk about her height and be mean to her, he possibly realized he F’d that up too.....what he doesn’t realize is Poppy is a forgiving spirit. He was trying to protect pops by keeping his distance and when Quincy basically ruined any chance of distancing himself he took that anger out on Poppy instead of directing that anger towards Quincey.....poor Quincey. I feel like after he was taken home and was in his apartment Tora probably was over playing the situation and couldn’t sleep....look at those dark circles in the last shot. Tora would never want to hurt her emotionally....he doesn’t want to do what her boyfriend did to her creating doubt in her mind. its obvious she conscious about her appearance and height....she’s been bullied hence the boxing lessons.....her Ex didn’t help either especially when she over heard his friends talking about the type of girls they want around.....and let’s not forget the type of girl her ex cheated on her with.....opposite of poppy. So yeah I’d say Tora feels like shit....he never wants anyone to feel bad especially Poppy.......so Tora my boy it’s okay you kinda screwed up but you have a chance to give a real apology...... Now Quincey where do I start.........He is literally and I mean literally an Angel to Tora. Yeah he’s a son of a Mafia lord but yet he’s still himself. He allows himself to be somewhat bullied by Tora even though technically he can out him out and Tell his dad....Quincey is not as innocent as he seems and u can tell by his build and the scar on his eye. There’s diff gonna be a backstory onto Q and T childhood and how Quincey discovered the mistreatment of Tora hence the scar on his eye/face. I think his dad gave him that scar due to him trying to defend Tora, who knows...... And the fact he was able to lift Tora all along on his own.....not surprising......like someone in the thread mentioned he downplays his own strength for a reason.....just like how Tora allows the gay rumors to spread for a reason....... Now Cordielia.......who now is confirmed “She” but is she really interested in Q or is she using him....? I like her character but also I’m scared of her character as well because something tells me it will tie in with “Dun Dun Dun” GIL and “Dun Dun Dun” The Detective. And lastly the brooch/hairpin........was it the last thing she received from her mother or her father........ Of course We’ll Tune back next Saturday for another episode of Midnight Poppy Land......... 😏🥰

Okay, here is my theory after rereading. Poppy's visit to Tora is BEFORE she's talking to Quincy at the office. Tora comes clean about the mafia and warns her that Q is the mafia boss's son. When Q asks her about being in a daze, she is b/c now she knows who he is and who she is working with. And when Q says are you worried about a certain someone, her mind goes to his evil mafia boss dad.

Not sure if someone mentioned this yet but after rereading this for the fifth time today, I know what it is about Poppy that reminds me of that moment with her and Tora on the roof- besides the hair and clothes. It’s her eyes. She has that same apprehensive looking in them. That was the same day she asked him why he took the picture and contemplated whether she should stick around if he was involved in the bloody sneaker incident. It feels like she’s questioning if she should be this close again. Just like that apprehension didn’t stop her lips then, it didn’t stop her feet now from climbing those steps. And once again Tora is caught off guard by Poppy’s forwardness. Now the question is does Bobby make it into the tiger’s lair?

Ok not sure if this was thought of or said already cuz there are sooo many other comments. So my thoughts, the hairpin was her mother's who use to be Boss Vincent's wife! That is why it looks like the tattoo and the clans symbol! Poppy's mom left the Boss and he found her and that is why she had to leave Poppy. That would explain why Poppy and her Dad were in the tree when that white van was around. Her dad was keeping Pops safe and a secret. And the reason it is missing now. Tora took it trying to make sure she isn't connected in any way! Yes that would make her a half sibling with Quincy. Also Poppy knows that Quincy is the son of the mafia boss. Because of the story Tora told her about Q and his pants. Pops asked what boss is that but Tora wouldn't tell her. Duh. She also knows that Tora is trying to keep her safe and why he said goodbye to her. She just didn't know that Tora was Quincy's bodyguard. So now Poppy knows for sure that Tora is in the mafia. This theory makes you wonder if Tora knows who Poppyland is and why he is trying so hard to protect her. That would make the conservation with Gyu in the truck make even more since. Also why Tora is so worried about Pops having the notebook. This theory would also explain why Tora wants to distance himself and everything in his world from Poppy. He does want her to have the same fate as him.

When Poppy went home and didn't argue with Quincey insisting to take care of Tora, I confess I was a bit frustrated... :) But I loved how you inverted the order and in the end Poppy went to his apartment. Poppy's gesture meant a lot: "I forgive you", "I want to talk and listen to your truth", "I'm not afraid of you", "I care for you, wanna take care of you, don't want you to be sick and alone..." I hope to see they spending time together, being honest with each other.

This chapter was literally 2 chapters in one, and it was great. Lilydusk, if you ever decide to make this comic into a printed book, I’m buying it lol. Like everyone was saying above, there’s depth in Quincey and he’s not all what he appears to be on the surface, like he’s playing up a role, similar to how Tora is. Like yes, he’s still a bit dramatic and sensitive but think he’s more observant than I initially realized he was. It also might be weird to think Quincey hasn’t ever touched a gun, knowing who his father is, or learned to fight, especially with someone like Tora with his side (maybe Tora and Quincey work out together). Quincey also has that huge scar on his face. The father also made that comment in an earlier chapter about Tora pretending to be a bodyguard but implying it wasn’t his real job, which might mean Quincey didn’t need a bodyguard. I do think Quincey is probably also trying to protect Tora and will be involved in future plans to overthrow the mafia. I wasn’t expecting to see Quincey carrying Tora, and as someone else mentioned, Tora isn’t the type to let himself be carried by just anyone. I was also really touched by Quincey’s awareness of Tora’s need to smoke and how Quincey lit the cigarette for him. In the earlier chapter, we saw that Tora was upset on behalf of Quincey getting plagiarized and they both seemed to have some understanding with each other in the tough mafia son act. I’m wondering more about their backstory and am sure we’ll see more being revealed much later on. Also, does Cordy know Inspector Lane? Cause Cordy is in some kind of law field, right? Wonder if there’s gonna be some kind of teaming up with Tora/Quincey to take down Vincent.

I'm going to put my tinfoil hat on a moment and go back a little because I keep thinking it... Ep 41: Quincey says, "Maybe he hasn't gotten over strawberry girl." And in ep 10: there's the picture the creep is looking at, 'Ares Street Kings' that has a guy in the background hovering over a young girl who's fallen down and looks to be hurt. Has Tora been pining for this girl that long? We know when she was with her dad at the park she was drinking strawberry juice, and Tora orders strawberry juice at the bar when we first meet Guyu, and in the market when he spits it in her hair. Makes me wonder, have they had other interactions? Do they know this? Maybe that was why when he saw her Ep 1 he thought she was an angel and wanted to talk to her, because subconsciously, he remembered. And perhaps that was another layer as to why Poppy trusted him as they ran through town. She remembered him and how gentle he was to her in that moment, or at the very least, a subconscious connection... The question is, should it all be connected, do either of them know?

As usual it's so incredibly wonderful, and in so many ways. But I did notice something that struck me as odd, or unexpected. With Tora's. Line of work, I would have expected that he had a camera or at least a peep hole to see who might be outside his door. But his expression seemed to indicate that he had no idea it was Poppy. Did I miss something?
