**Please do not share any of this anywhere else. This post is strictly for $5 tier Patrons only. Thank you ❤️**Hello my dears 💕I hope all of you and your loved ones are healthy and doing well. Or as well as you can possibly be, with the craziness known as 2020.  I thought I’d drop by with a life update, which I haven't done in a long while. First off, a warmest welcome to all new Patrons who’ve joined in recent months. I’m so glad to have you guys here, and I hope y’all are enjoying yourselves as well <3 Thanks also to everyone else for your generosity, kindness and support. You guys have been a major reason for all the blessings in my life - so thank you, from the bottom of my heart. On to life updates. It’s long, and MIGHT be depressing to read for some of y'all. So if you’ve had a rough week, if you’re just as shot as I’ve been, feel free to skip this post and come back when you’re in a more positive headspace ❤️1. I had a Dyshidrotic Eczema flare-up a couple months backFor those who’ve never heard of this before, it’s a painful (and excruciatingly itchy) skin condition that affects mostly the hands, fingers and palms. So for the past 1-2 months, apart from struggling to hold things, I’ve been pretty stressed and scared. I was mostly worried that if it worsened, I wouldn’t be able to work for an indefinite amount of time.Pics of my hand below (Warning: it’s pretty gross, scroll down quickly if you don't want to see)........Backstory: I've had Dyshidrotic Eczema for most of my life. The last flare-up I had was the MOST severe I've ever had, back in mid 2017. For 2-3 months, I was almost completely incapacitated and I could hardly use both my hands, not even to eat or shower.Pic of my hand below (Warning: it’s pretty gross, scroll down quickly if you don't want to see)....The above pics were taken when my hands were healing, and I had it on both hands, back and front.....Thankfully with medical treatment (strictly no steroids for me, only acupuncture and TCM treatment), my hands healed. It was a blessing in disguise though, because thanks to that flare-up, I finally thought to myself that I'd never take life for granted again, which was how I started making webcomics (or Webtoons). Anyway, this time round, it didn't get that bad and it’s mostly healed now, with the same treatment I had before. So I can finally talk about this now, because I don’t like talking about shitty stuff that's happening when I’m in the middle of it, lol. My hands are almost back to normal again. Thanks for getting your shit together, body.2.  I moved from my office (aka art studio), back home againThe apartment I'm living in with Mr. Lily (my hubby) and our 3 cats, is tiny. So in Dec 2019, I had to move into my own office, outside of home. I've been working in that office ever since, until I felt like I couldn't go on anymore and had to move back home. Here’s why...

The office I worked at, is in an old, dark building, located in an industrial estate mostly filled with male workers. Don't get me wrong. I am very grateful to have had an office to work in, because it's allowed me to be fully productive and focused. BUT, working long hours alone and late into the night in that building was depressing and stressful, and I was feeling pretty miserable there. So after all these months, I felt like I'd finally reached my stress threshold.

I didn’t want to stay on for any longer than I had to, in my office, so every hour of my day felt too "precious” to be wasted on anything not work-related. I started feeling stressed and guilty if I took even just an hour off from work - heart palpitations and anxiety attacks, even if it was just to brush my teeth after a freaking meal!! lol. It was a very unhealthy, toxic state of mind to be in, probably bordering on workaholism. Not the cute, trendy one, but actual workaholism that you need therapy for.

After the eczema flare-up, I had to drastically reduce the amount of hand-washing I did. So I didn’t want to be out in public places (like my office building) and be exposed to more dirt and bacteria, which could lead to some painful, harmful skin infections. And of course, COVID, because I can’t wash my hands.

Thankfully, because of some new home arrangements, I now have the study room all to myself. With Mr. Lily’s help (shoutout to my man, who is an absolute angel. These past few weeks, he's had to blow-dry my hair for me everyday because I couldn’t use my hands. He's also been doing ALL the household chores on his own, this whole year), I’m back at our cozy little home again, this time with a proper work space to work at. So all is well now.The scary thing is when all this was happening, I had no idea how negatively the office environment was affecting me. I’d chalked it down to work, to Patreon, to everything BUT the actual reason. It was a case of desensitising and numbing myself so much, that got to a point of zero awareness until I was finally OUT of the situation.I don’t regret any of it, though - at that point in time, it was the best arrangement I could possibly have, and, metal stress aside, it's worked out very well. Still, it was really important for me to realise that what was causing me so much distress, was not what I’d expected. At all. So if anyone’s in a similar position, let this be a cautionary tale (I guess?)4. And apart from the COVID situation, the rest of my 2020 has comprised of...

A new contract I’m in the middle of negotiating. This has been racking up some expensive lawyer consultation fees. And after months of back-and-forth correspondences, it is still ongoing. BUT, it’s nothing bad and will potentially open up some exciting new doors, so I’m stoked.

A mortgage loan I’ve been trying to apply for, but has been a long, complicated process because of my employment status as a self-employed artist. Finally approved. All is well now.

Some new work equipment I paid an arm and a leg for but haven’t been able to use, because one of it went tits up after just a few weeks. I’ve been trying for months to get it repaired, but between COVID and lousy technical support, it is still un-usable. It’s a 2019 Mac Pro (which is just the CPU), for anyone wondering. Balls to you, Apple 🖕🖕🖕

And now I’ve tired myself out from all that typing so I’ll end here. This sums up the last few months of my 2020. Nothing too serious or drastic, but the stress and overwhelm has definitely been a very real thing for me. I hope y’all have at least fared marginally better 😂 If you've made it this far, you are a straight up boss and I love you. Thanks for reading ❤️❤️

I have the same condition on my hands, too, although I've never had an outbreak as bad as yours, so I understand what you've been suffering! Mine is related to stress, and is irritated by washing hands and the alcohol in hand sanitizers. I hadn't read all these behind the scenes stuff before, and I like it when you reveal your personality like this to us. Keeping it real, as kids say!

Amila Hatta

Wish you all the best and speedy recovery 💜 Stay safe!

Gabriela M Mamani

My husband has the same eczema issue too. I'm sorry you had to go through that.

Carola

Yikes Ive seen allot of that eczema when I was studying to be a hairdresser and can not imagine how irritating it must be!! Get well soon, you're doing great work and let's hope the rest of 2020 gets good, 😉😘

Rebecca Darby

Mahirah Sattar

Not fair that you have to go through this but regardless you are still our QUEEN 👸👸!!!

Jenny Wooten

To be going through all that and still bring is MLP plus all the extras on here, you are amazing!!! I hope you have a better next couple months. MPL has become some special to me, I find myself looking forward to it all week. As a nurse during the COVID epidemic, it really helps a stressful week to be able to count down and to spend a few hours in Poppy and Tora's world. Thank you for sharing your stories with us!!

PaviElle Siebold

Sorry to hear you were going through all that! Grateful that you are in a more happier head space now ❤️

SOPHIA A

Wow I'm so sorry everything has been so stressful. I hope things get better and your hand heals up quickly.

Etalia

Stress can manifest in so many crippling physical ways, a lot of people forget it’s not always just about your mental health. Really glad you seemed to have pinpointed the reason(s) for it, and I hope that helps you stay on top of further attacks. Also really glad to hear you some positive (albeit huge!) life changes/events going on. You deserve it! 💕

Stacy Eldreth

Lily all I can say is thank you for your amazing work! I hope your stress level goes down and that your year is bless. Love you

My goodness, your work ethic is second to none but please please rake time to take care of yourself! We love you and we want you to be happy and safe. Thank you for sharing and please know you are supported!

Mikko Moy

I also have similar form of eczema on my hands too 😔 Handwashing as much as i do now can be stressful on my skin and even wearing disposable gloves aggravates the hell out of my hands too. I totally get it! What's most important is you take care of yourself! As much as we love your work, we want you to be healthy mentally and physically. Keep well Lily!

Olive S

I'll love you and support you, always! Take care, Lily dear! ❤️❤️❤️

We love you! Hope you find lots of time to take good care of yourself too. And thank you Me. Lily for taking great care of her too! Hope the contract stuff goes in your favor soon and that you are able to find the perfect house for you and Mr. Lily!

Jaki

Thank you so much for sharing this, I can't imagine living with something like that 😔 you're a damn rockstar and I appreciate everything you do for us! 😍💜

Lariimaar

You are a beast and a warrior. I’m fairly new to your Webtoon but I’ve enjoyed it immensely and I’m so sorry to hear you’ve gone through so much these past few months. I was also diagnosed within Eczema and Roscea fairly recently and at 36 years old it’s not something I stupidly expected. I had a flare up of my hand from working in the veterinary medical field and having to wash my hands so much. It was nothing as severe as what you described though. so I can’t imagine! I’m glad that despite the bad, you do have some good going on as well 💕 Thank you so much for all your hardwork and dedication!

Theresa

I love you & your star of a husband & your work too, Lily! ❤ It seems that you have faced quite a few challenges lately - any itchness is right up there with all the worst things! - but you have faced all the challenges & it sounds like many things are resolving! Great job! I wish you, your husband & cats all the best, Love Theresa

aneuqinom

2020 had definitely been quite the year. I appreciate and cherish all you do while still managing personal life stuff. Your work has become such a special part in my life and I look forward to every week because of it. As this year slowly comes to an end, I hope it brings you all the happiness. Wishing you all the best Lily! Thank you 💛

Yrudea

Good recovery to you, as much for your hands as for all the stress you undergo on a daily basis. And thank you for sharing this with us. We ❤️ you.

Doctor Islands

To have all of that going on in your life and still take the time to update us like this is just one of the many things that make you truly incredible! Your work brings joy, and I am so glad to hear that things are going better for you now. May you continue to feel better and stay well. Take care of you! 💜💜

Nathalie Claire

Thank you for sharing Lilydusk ♥️. Your work and the soul you put into it is APPRECIATED AND LOVED! You have a genius mind to satisfy our eyes, compel our minds and trigger "our little box" 😉. More blessings to come to you!!!

PetitLikeMe

Thank you for sharing, Lily!!! I'm happy you feel a lot better now. And thank you so much for providing us with MPL and AB even when you had to deal with this. I imagine that it must have been very painful. I hope you didn't pushed yourself too hard to make us happy!

Rinkania Winanda

On no... I hope you get better! Stay healthy and wishing you all the best ❤❤❤❤

Emily Basso

On any given day, you are an inspiration. But when all of this is laid out, on top of what you’ve been producing for your readers, I can firmly say I want to be you “when I grow up”. Workaholism aside, you are dedicated and so very strong. I would have hidden from the world and gone into defeatist mode, but somehow you pushed on with a brave face, and while I wish you didn’t have to do that, I’m so incredibly in awe that you faced all this and can talk about it. I’m glad the hand and work environments are better, and that Mr. Lily is the domestic hero you deserved in this stressful time 🦸🏻‍♂️ And as always, you will be in my heart and mind as I hope things continue to get better still ❤️ you are a goddess and a warrior!

EllieBear

Please take the time to put your health first. ❤️ It sucks majorly when your health gets in the way of your life ( life long illness here) but it's so precious to be able to do the simple things that you love. Feeling refreshed mentally while your body heals up is important. I hope you feel the freedom to take a break from the stress and know that while you've created an awesome fandom that so many people love, everyone understands that your life comes first, as it should.

Tara Taylor

Lily you are an amazing person, and by the sounds of it, so is Mr Lily! You keep looking after yourselves xx we all love you!!xx

Tiffany Krug

Aww Lily, I'm sorry you went through all of that! 2020 has been a real headache for a lot of people! Thank you for sharing all of that and I pray for no more flare ups! I cant imagine having to work through that pain! Congrats on the new mortgage loan ans good luck with the contract!

B00kie

Dear Lily, thank you for sharing and trusting us with this!! 💙 Glad that your health is getting better, can't imagine the pain of the eczema 😭 (Props to Mt.Lily for taking care of you so well✨) Also glad that you could finally pinpoint what drained your energy this much... Fingers crossed that things will keep going well from here on! 🌼

Pribbz

Hey Lily! Thanks for sharing about your more personal life. I’m sure that was very difficult for you to do, and it’s very revealing of how much you care for your community because you were under no obligation to do so. I have the upmost respect for you Queen! Take all the time you need to completely distress and make your little corner of the world calm. I’m positive a great majority of this community will meet you with nothing but love and support. Thank you for all the joy and life you bring ❤️ lots of love 😁

Alchemy Alice

Oh man, what a year for you 😣 I'm so happy to hear you're on the upswing. Also, this is so odd but I have to say, you have really beautiful hands.

caseyjarryn

Oh my goodness, I'm even more in awe of you knowing that you managed to get so much work done despite the eczema flare up!! Please don't think you have to work through things like that if you are in pain/discomfort though! As always - your health is #1 priority and we can wait!! I hope you manage to have some time to yourself to destress, and that the change in work location helps too! As patrons we are here to help support you and I hope you know that if you have too much on your plate you should never have to stress about getting Patreon content out... We're here to remove stress from your life, not add to it!! So much love to you!! Xox

Tatiana Eletzky

Glad you'd be able to identify what was stressfull to yourself, so now you can manage to relieve a lot more of pressure on your shoulders! Maybe your eczema was due to all this amount of stress, surely you will have a lot less eczema crisis! Stay safe! And thank you for everything you share with us 😊

Katy Lee

#LilyDuskIsABeast! I'm praying for you!

LouCas27

Thank you for trusting us with some personal issues, glad you have overcome them. 🤗🤗🤗 Kudos also to Mr. Lily! 🙌🏼 I am sure your openness will also help others going through similar struggles, with the message that despite the difficulties, there is always hope. 💕I never tire of thanking your for your talent, story telling and generosity. In fact AB and MPL are the reason why I follow Webtoon and Patreon. ✌🏻Stay safe and keep well.

“People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed. Never throw out anyone.” — Audrey Hepburn I think this is also true about yourself. I have had a really rough 2020 as well, with my father's passing last Nov, my wife and I "taking a break", starting a new position at work and Covid-19 on top of that, it's been just nuts. I know stress is a tough bitch and not to mention unhealthy but to get through it, you must be a bit selfish and take care of yourself. I believe you've done what you can to make sure you are healthy. MPL has really helped me, I found a community that's is fun, light hearted and it really has made it easier for destressing. Seriously, Lily, thank you for all you do!

Eli Bee's Blurbs

Lily, I'm so glad you're doing much better and I'm glad you got yourself out of that office space and back somewhere you feel comfortable. No one should have to work like that and I'm glad 2020 is starting to look up for you and I wish you all the best ❤ I'm a little concerned you mentioned male migrant workers without actually mentioning a reason for them in any of the issues going on...As a person of color and an immigrant myself I felt a bit offended by that 😕. It felt like you were trying to say more to that and maybe I'm taking this the wrong way.... Edit: Thank you for updating this 💖

SGreenhill

Lily im soo glad that you are slowly one the mend! Firstly, I love your work, all the effort and dedication that you devote to it so you can share it with us. Thanks for that !! Ezcema sucks soo much ! I have psoriasis and for me that is so debilitating at time so I get how you feel. So im sending you tons of healing vibes and heaps of love! Bless Mr. Lily for being a gem and supporting you. Thanks for sharing 👍 ❤

Latoya Doyle

Stay safe❤ wishing you guys the best.

Darla (Tora’s THOT)

Lily- you have gone through so much 😭😭😭 too damn much! I also have eczema on my hands but very mild and that shit is itchy af and burns like crazy if you try to put purell/lotion/watch extensively. Your case is severe, it looks incredibly painful 😖 your hubby is a blessing and sounds like a total angel 😇, thank you mr lily for taking care of her!! Wow such a blessing! Lily, if you need to take a break, ever, for however long, days, weeks, months, years, I would never impede on that! You desperately need a break, for your physical well being and mental state. Don’t let ppls selfishness get in the way of your body! I’d still support you for however damn long/way! Patreon, redbubble, etc, it doesn’t matter!! Hell- I can just read old episodes in the mean time! No biggie! I’m so glad you are working back home, I feel like that is such an unsafe situation to be there alone so late!!! I get it!! You gotta do what you gotta do, but safety, and happiness is #1! I’m so glad things are looking up! I pray you get the house of your dreams! I hope your new equipment does wonders for you and possibly makes your work life easier! And whatever contract you’re negotiating, I hope everything goes in your favor!! YOU 👏🏻 DESERVE👏🏻 IT!👏🏻 -I wish I can burn sage for you and just cleanse you and get rid of any yucky energies, you deserve nothing but positivity & light!!! That office tho——- SMUDGING like crazy! Lol Anyway, love you, I’m up WAY TOO EARLY, but I’m happy to read your life update :))))) know we are here for you no matter what!!!

Ngoc

I felt this in my soul ❤️ I have a similar skin issue and have had to rely on some very strong steroids throughout my life in order to avoid being incapacitated. I am also in the process of switching jobs due to obscene hours in a workplace that hasn’t been great for my mental health. Kudos to our other halves for helping us through it. Take all the time you need to heal (mentally, physically, etc), your FanFam will be here when you’re ready ❤️

Amanda Williams

Lily you are a badass babe and you are doing THE LORD's work, (esp for secret gardens). Please take care of yourself : ❤️

dbrae

Virtual hugs to you from another who suffers from the same condition. Thank you for all your efforts to keep us entertained while trying to get through this and make a living too. 💗

Sara Lehmann

Whoa Lily! Big hugs to you! Thank you for your sharing! I can relate very well to feeling stress and overwhelm and the body reacting to it with real symptoms (not just feeling unwell). For me it has always been a way my soul was telling me that something is so upseting and i have to look at it. And yes, sometimes there is so much resistance to look and the cause is something different than expected. But still, i sense it all as gifts from my soul to gain clarity and to help me live my life the way i would like. And i see this in your experiences too, many blessings are unfolding and circumstances are moving in the direction of wholesome happiness, right? So well done for listening to your body and soul, being open to all the good in this situation. ❤️ And even with Apple i trust there will be a satisfying solution. 😉 Much love to you 😘😘😘

Asia Neal-Allen

Love your hard work & commitment!! Continue working hard & staying positive! Everything will work out for the best for you! We support you every step of the way!!

Sarah Lustrea

Thank you for your work and dedication! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed reading your work since I started reading MPL back in May and joining Patreon 😘

Natalie Jo Bray

Glad to hear things are improving for you.

Zana

Thanks Lily for sharing 💚. Glad to hear you feel better now. Eczema really sucks. I have dermographism due to stress. My body becomes an art piece itself😅. Take time to reduce all the stress you feel and take care of you. Don't worry Mr Lily got your back🤗. Thanks again for your generosity and everything you share with us❤.

ashpea

Thank you for the life update, Lily! I'm glad you are out of the stressful work space now and that your condition is improving. I suffer from autoimmune disorders and stress is the number one culprit behind my flare-ups. Force yourself to have a healthy life balance, work can be fulfilling, but you have to make time for all that other stuff, too. If your hands are suffering from any residual stiffness you might benefit from talking to a therapist to get some exercises (I'm an occupational therapist and we do hand therapy, so I know how challenging it is for my artists when they have conditions that impact their hands). Take care, we are all here to love and support you 💗

Embo

We love and support you no matter what! I’m sorry you had to go through this tough stuff, but happy you’ve made it through the worst of it! Self care is so important, thank you for the reminder. I’m a full time grad student and work overnights so recognizing when I need a break is difficult. On that note, thank you so much for being part of my self care routine with your beautiful art and stories! Take care! 💜💕💜💕

Raquel

Thank you so much for your hard work ♥️ I started reading MPL in a very bad moment of my life and I can tell that help me a bit through it... despite the “heavy” plot sometimes, this light, true and loving story about, what for me is true love, makes my heart go “wow” and daydream 🥰 Thank you so much for that ! You’re awesome 🖤

jozimart making Under The Eclipse

Best of luck with the contract, loan and new equipment! I'm glad you came out on the other side of stress and physical limitations. Take your time! :)

Felicia Frasher

Lily, I literally feel your pain as I have the same type of eczema. I’ve only had one flair up and though not as severe as yours, it was the worst thing I’ve ever experienced. Please take care of yourself and thank you for everything you do.

Claudia De Luna

Feel better! My 2020 has been horrid too.

Mariana Mahe

Lily, you accomplished so many things despite all this rough time. I hope you can find balance and fully enjoy everything you get. I know sometimes it is really hard. It is admirable how you can be so talented and so beautiful artwork above all this. I hope you don't overwork... we love your stories but your health is the priority. I really admire you. It is good to be strong (actually we don't have other options must of time) but it is good to know you have someone by your side. So enjoy your cats cat's massage, take a break every time you feel your tired. We really love and appreciate you effort. You are very kind for let us know your battle... Since 2016 I am fighting against depression and I am much better know. But what I learn is we need to find our balance. And it is a constant process. Please don't overwork even when MPL fans Express their love... we can handle it. Because we love you as much as we love your artwork. 🥰😘

Haley Webb

Lily, you are only human and we absolutely respect that you sometimes need a breather. I can’t imagine the pressure you must be under but just know that us fans are rooting for you. MPL is such a joy in our lives and we thank you for the beautiful content you provide us with. The waiting only makes the end results sweeter. ❤️

Pleione

Wow Lily, so much going on with you, no wonder your heart is giving you palpitations! I've been having palpitations too and it's scary! (Many an ER visit and many a specialist consultation to even figure out what was happening to me!) Congrats on securing your home loan (I secured my first home loan in April!) and thank goodness that your finger flareup wasn't as bad as your 2017 episode! Learning a little more about your personal life certainly has made you much more relatable, at least to me. Best of luck dear author and thank you for sharing! 🥰

Nurse Jackie

Geez la weez it sounds like a hell of a run for you, I’m really glad your universe seems to *hopefully* be balancing back out. And thanks for being such a Boss Babe and pushing through all of that to bring us a new web comic every week!!! I look forward to them and get sad when I read them so quickly!!

Kristel De Jesus

Oh my goodness Lily, we didn’t know it was this hard for you especially with a very sensitive skin condition. I can’t believe everything you’ve put up with and STILL gave us content, not only to the webtoon readers but also to your Patreons!! I hope and pray your condition improves with the treatment you’re receiving. And props to your partner for being the absolute best!! He’s a rare gem❤️ We love you Lily and if you need to take some rest due to any circumstance it’s perfectly fine for us. You deserve it. You’ve already given us so much already!! Thank you for everything so far!! We love you 💕

Mathilde

Problems never come alone, and it seems that 2020 is a pretty good demonstration of this... But it will come to an end, just like the rest! Thank you for sharing your struggles, and more than anything for your for hard work and your devotion. We, as your community, are here to support you in every way! Please always take the time you need for you, you are your own priority ❤️

VintageNerd

Omg Lily!! I used to have Ezcema flare ups when I was younger and just like you it was hard to deal with. I couldn’t even sit and used to literally rip skin off on the thighs and legs. Crazy thinking about it now because of good doctors and proper medical treatment, I’m in my mid 20’s now and looking at my skin you wouldn’t even know so I’m thankful. But Lily I’m am glad you told your story and couldn’t imagine going through that especially on your hands the same hands you need to work! I’m so glad your hands are getting better and that you’ve moved your office as well. Moving from a stress free environment is very important to ones health especially when it comes to Eczema. Especially since you can’t wash or sanitize your hands because the skin will be irritated and dry out which U do not want. I had to move to a different location for an Orthopedic company due to stressful and pressure filled environment and also working at an Urgent care. Let’s just say 2020 so far is a wild ride 🙃😫 but I’m also glad to have discovered your work during Covid pandemic. After 12 hour shifts back to back you literally give me something to look foward to by the end of the week besides some Shows I’m streaming online. But I gotta say Thank you for your strength to keep going and not giving up. Also giving us extra goodies!!! Also I’ve had the same problem with MacBook Pro I have a 2012 model and a 2019 model.....let’s just say My 2012 model has been more reliable than anything. Luckily my brother is a technical type guy who can fix and build computers and etc but he has to configure the 2019 model twice vs my 2012 model. That’s all imma say with Apple......Lmao Any ways Lily ❤️❤️❤️ stay well please Also try blending fruits that fight inflammation as well spinach, pineapples, mangoes, avocados bananas, blueberries, dragon fruit etc... you don’t have to blend them together lmao 😂 Anyways stay well and Thank you ! ❤️❤️❤️✌🏾🌟

Patricia @MyRomanceHasNoLimits

Hope you recover fully Lilly. You are strong and your perseverance is astonishing! But from one girl to the other, there is nothing more important than to take care of yourself. Mr Lilly, you rock! And as a patreon , I’m here to support you because your art and story telling brings me joy ( like Agatha Christie or Banana Yoshimoto did when I was young. I am comparing Poirot with Tora? 🧐😱). Meaning, I’m here to support you so that you don’t overdo it and continue to upload on Webtoons. And please, consider taking more time off to spoil Mr Lilly and yourself. For the future: If you see many of us asking you to take care of yourself, it actually means we are sensing that something is off and became concerned ( I certainly have been 😔). Please consider opening a $10 tier for who wants to support you more, without extra content. Tight hugs 🤗

Emma Lou

I'm sorry you have had to go through all this, and I appreciate your honesty when you have no reason to actually disclose this to us, makes me appreciate you even more as an artist. As someone who suffers from Aquagenic urticaria I can sympathise with you. It makes life a living hell (I also use acupuncture to help as well) . I can't imagine how much it may have affected you and how you're still able to be awesome self employed woman! I struggle to hold down my 9-5 job. I'm glad you have a supportive husband he sounds amazing. I imagine it's quite difficult also being away from home whilst working and felt like you spent more time there than home, hopefully the cats don't disturb you too much, my cat likes to bother me a lot in my 'office' at home...take care Lily and best of luck with all the future endeavours. ❤️❤️

RugbyLiz123

Can we all just throw the whole 2020 away?? 😩 Thank you for all you do, your art of course gives so many of us an escape from sucky realities but at the end of the day you have to take care of YOU! Don't worry for a second about taking breaks or things being delayed, of course we will all be looking forward to updates, but none of that would be happening, none of us would be here, without YOUR amazing story-telling!!! Please take care, we adore you! 🤗💞

Amanda Milliken

My heart goes out to you! You’ve had quite the year so I hope, for your sake, that the hardships are over and you’ve got some amazing things coming your way! Congratulations on all the accomplishments you’ve achieved and I’m so excited to see what the future holds for you!

Psyckology

I'm so glad your hands are healing!! I have a different kind of eczema (and like 8 other skin problems) and flares are so scary (even when we know what is happening). UV therapy helped me. So, like, literally just the sun. Bodies are weird.

BlueCaty

Lily you are a goddess, an inspiration and a role model. I am glad that you are feeling better and you managed to overcome the health and work difficulties, and find a solution for your office. Anytime you need a break, no matter how long, take it and take care of your mind and body. Thank you for sharing a slice of life with us. I feel sometimes readers take for granted what is offered freely to them and forget that behind the art is not a machine, but an actual human being like themselves, with hardships and stress and health problems and everything that comes along with it. I am in total awe at the works of beauty you produced while going through these tough times and I can honestly say you are nothing short of a wonder. You beautiful, strong, inspiring woman! No matter your future endeavours, you have my full support. Thank you for your hard work. Always.

Alex

I used to get eczema all the time as a kid so I understand what it like not to be able to use your hands for a lot of things plus I have bad allergies and so I completely understand what it feels like having ur body going against you when you in essence need it the most. Sorry you are going through that but I’m glad your feeling better and the medication is working I have a older brother with a similar problem as well and he has doesn’t like leaving the house because he was so scared of grossing ppl out with it. Thanks for letting us get to know u a bit more and I hope your treatment continues to work(: ❤️

Lizzaye

Glad your hand got all healed up! Thank you for all the hard work despite the hardships you had to endure. We love and support you for all that you've done! 🥰

Eva

I get eczema on my fingers and I can only imagine what it's like to get it on your entire dominant hand!! So happy you have your supportive hubby to help you. Thank you for sharing your story with us -- I'm so inspired by your perseverance! Hubby blow drying your hair is like straight out of a shoujo manga!! I hope you continue to heal (I always use a steroid cream so props to you for healing without it. Love you Lily! You are a warrior!!

Ashley

I'm sorry this is something have to deal with and continue to deal with! I think you are quite inspirational for continuing to make such breath taking and amazing art at the rate that you do. I'm a newer patron, and I love your stories, they are some of my favorite to read. I get so excited when MPL updates! I'm glad besides a few things life seems to be getting better for you, in this hell that is 2020. Thank you for sharing your stories and your life with us! I hope the rest of this year treats you well!

Heather Babb

mina griffith

Thank you so much for what you do and hopefully it's all upwards from here on out 😘😘😘

Carissa

Lily, I never knew eczema could get that bad. I too have it on my hands as well as other parts of my body like my ears and abdomen, but for be it's not as severe and with the help of Lush Cosmetics lotions, I'm able to keep my flare ups at bay. Thank you for being so open with us. I'm glad that you're able to work from home and holy cow your hubby is MVP. Does he have a brother that is single? 😅 I hope things only continue to get better for you guys and thank you for sharing a piece of your life with us. 💖

Soosie

Thank you so much for sharing and being open with us about this part of your life Lily! I'm so sorry you had to go through this this year. I'm so happy for you that things have been getting better for you, and to have someone as wonderful as Mr. Lily to partner with and support you throughout this journey 💖 Before this year started, I thought it would be an amazing year of "20/20 perfect vision", but as the year unfolded, coming to an end in several months, instead of 'perfect vision', I think it has been a year of blessings in disguise in subtle ways. So I hope outpour of blessings in disguise will continue to unfold in your life onward! May the flare ups never come back so severely again, may the contract follow through completely in its perfect timing, may you get the home perfect for you and Mr. Lily and your fur babies, may the work from home be easier to bear with your partner by your side, may the WFH give you more rest/refreshment/freedom/focus/joy/smiles/precious memories, and may stinking Apple come through with that stellar customer service just for you! I'm so proud to be a fan and supporter of an amazingly inspiring, talented, intelligent author and artist who relentlessly spoils us all the time, and I will continue to support you with the little I have even if you decided to take longer breaks for your self mental and physical health! Lilydusk army standing with you! Hehe No matter what hardships ahead, may it only work in your favor in every way for all the days of your life! Thank you again for everything you do for us 💖 Sending you lots of love 💮🌸💕

Danie-bob

I hope you're doing much much better Lily! Thank you so much for not giving up on MPL despite all these problems! Best wishes and vibes for you always!

Caslpk

We love you, Lily! Thank you for all that you do ❤️❤️ MPL is the highlight of my week and always puts a smile on my face.

Yessenia Garcia

Girl take some time off! Do the series like once a month or twice a month (im not sure how you have your contract with webtoons) but you need to slow down! Youll still have your followers... and also, dont be stubborn and ask for help when you need it!!! I cant stress that enough, you cant do everything alone, you need to rely on people and trust them. Girl please take care of yourself, love you to bits!

Viktória Rózsa

We love you Lily so much! And we are all appreciate for all your work you do for us! I enjoyed every beautiful masterpiece what you've made for us so far! Please take care of yourself, do whatever you have to do to be healthy and happy so you can stay with us for a long- long time and make our life happier with your art! We are here to support you! And an extra high five to Mr Lily for all his hard work!

Julie Skrobot

Sending you lots of love and encouragement!!!! We love your work and will always happily wait for it. Don't push yourself too hard and take care of YOU first. We love you, Lily!!!

Bree

I suffer from scalp psoriasis (fucking disgusting) and eczema. I feel this on a whole different level, and whenever I stress, my entire body just goes "Fuck you" and I can't do anything. I have a weird form of urticaria and my doctor cannot tell me what it's from- my entire face swells up, and I have an epi pen in case my body tries to kill me. Most recently, they think it's stressed related. I want to try UV and Red Light therapy. If you want, I'll let you know how it goes. I have had eczema for 25 years...and I'm 25 years old.

Adventurous Snail

Omg Lily, I want to wrap you up in bubblewrap and blankets and spoon feed you soup and sweets. I also have dyshidrotic eczema and had a flare up in February. It had never gotten so bad in my life, and I was convinced I had some flesh eating disease. That whole experience was terrifying and I just want to offer you support and encouragement. I am amazed and grateful you could get it under control without steroids. Also, congrats on the house loan being approved!! I wish you the best of luck in your house hunting. Channel some Tora while you pick out a safe neighborhood lol. Love you Lily!

Stephanie L Hawk

Oh, Lilz...so many hugs to you and Mr Lily ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️.

Schkaka

I too have eczema but man I feel for you. I have never had a flare like that. My son gets it pretty bad but the majority of his flares are scalp and arms. 2020 has been different that's for sure. So I feel you on the stress and not being sure where it is coming from. I am so glad to hear that you are doing better now and bless your husband! My husband also does quite alot for me because of my shoulder back and neck issues. You gotta appreciate a man who is willing to help you do all the things you cant while you are hurt or sick. I hope things continue to get better for you and your family. Your work is amazing and what we get to see of your personality here well you are a truly talented strong funny person and I thank you for all you do❣

Justine Hedman

I'm sorry you've had to go through this. It amazes me that one reading MPL would never have known you had such stresses in your life. You continue to make amazing pics and a story that had settled so closely with so many of us. Hopefully your hiatus will be coming up soon, and you'll be able to sit back and breath for a while. (Maybe move into that dream home with Mr Lily.) We thank him for taking care of you too. 💖💖 prayers and thoughts go with you in the future and hopefully you won't have another flare up like that any time soon.

Wild Poppies

Lily you are a trooper and an inspiration. Thank you for sharing and for all that you do for us and staying with MPL during such a difficult time in your life. Im glad you are healing and I know you must be breathing a sigh of relief. Much love to Mr. Lily for taking such good care of you too. ❤

Robin Lopez

I under the painful ness of a serious skin disorder. I have psoriasis... it’s not fun at all. I am so glad you found a homeopathic way to heal. So glad you have such a great hubby that has been such a great support to you. Please take it easy and be gentle to yourself.

Lilydusk

Going through all your comments now, and I'm blown away by your kindness! Thank you guys so much for all your well wishes and encouragement ❤️❤️🙌🙌🙌

Jazz

As a fellow spoonie, I send you all the healing vibes and spoons to spare. I also applaud you and Mr Lily on your partnership, it's so important and I'm so glad he's ready, willing, and able to do so. Take some time if need be. We'll still be here to cheer you on. Get well 💜

soup

💕💕💕So glad to hear that you are doing better. So glad that Mr.Lily is such a kind soul and has been doing all the chores and your hands are getting a chance to heal. A big F U to Apple and their stupid tech support (and a side F U for their creating tech that breaks down ON PURPOSE so we all keep buying and buying and buying). Yay on the mortgage madness being resolved (self-employed artistry aside, the whole mortgage process sucks sucks sucks - even for those that are not genius self-employed artists). So happy to hear about new opportunities and effective contract negotiation (boo on the large legal fees). Very glad at the realization that the outside studio was toxic and fueling not-cute workaholism. Always so hard to figure out where the toxicity is coming from - an F’ed up workspace can truly kill the soul... Please take care our dear Lilydusk! On behalf of the dusk bunnies (another patreon/patron suggested that name but dont know if it’s gotten any traction yet), sending love and so much appreciation for all your hard work. Even if we don’t know the exact details of all the struggles that you are facing as you face them, please know that we are always wishing you well and sending strength and wellness vibes. 💕💕💕

Julia

Your hard work is so appreciated and your strength is unmeasurable. We all love everything you put out but above all we care about you. I hope that if you find yourself needing a break that you don’t feel guilty because we will understand and we want you to thrive, not diminish. I’m glad that you’re feeling better and hope that the rest of your 2020 goes smoother. ❤️

larosamorada

Lily, woman, goodness! 🥺🥺💜💜 First of all you are a goddamn QUEEN for dealing with all that and giving us all that you do! Workaholism is no one's friend (definitely the pot calling the kettle black here... Lola's about to kick my ass 😅). You deserve to have time to yourself without feeling guilt. I'm sure it contributed to those flare ups 😔😔. I'm sending you the biggest hug ever lady! 🤗🤗🤗💜💜💜 But I'm so, so glad that you're on the other side of all that and found some things that will help you stay sane. And seriously- thank fuck for good men that will spring to action when we need it 👏👏👏 (girl, same boat there...we'd be eating off paper every night in my house if the dishes were up to me 🤣). So definitely three cheers for Mr. Lily!! 🙌🙌🙌 I'm sending all the good vibes that your contract negotiations go well and that you and Mr. Lily find the house of your dreams 🥰🥰. The hubs and I are also on the hunt and have a pending offer on a place, so I feel you on the stress of that! I've never signed so much fucking paperwork in my life. 😅😅 Again, sending ALL the love, hugs, good vibes! Hats off to you, ma'am for being amazing always! 💜💜💜💜

Lacey Blankenship

You had THAT on your hands, were working in a toxic environment, and have been dealing with all that other nonsense.. and you STILL managed to on a weekly basis push out some of the prettiest, longest, most detailed episodes Webtoons has ever seen? You're a forking rock star and we don't deserve you. I'm so glad things are starting to improve again, and I hope they continue to do so. Take care of yourself, lady. We love you. ❤️ And we love Mr Lily, too. He sounds absolutely wonderful. ❤️

Emily

Thank you for your courage to share your story. So many have taken a mental hit (me included) during this time and your perseverance is inspiring. Thank you for your artwork and comics too! These are something we all look forward too as an exciting treat during these crazy times. 💕

kelly s

Hey we're just a bunch of horny goats. Don't you ever worry about us and focus on your health first always. <3 I'm glad your doing better. I'm glad Mr. Lilly has your back and that you're hands are better.

Kimberly Miller

I'm so glad you're feeling better and in a comfortable space!

Anna

Oh man first of all let me say that you are an absolute BOSS to be still producing weekly updates amid all that chaos! I'm so glad you have Mr. Lily, having a supportive partner makes all the difference! Without you there would be no art that we have all fallen in love with so take care of yourself first and know that I'll be keeping my $5 tier regardless! I think what you do is special and thats the least I can do to show my love for your work!

Alina Fardella

<3 sending all the love and good vibes your way

mermay

You're INCREDIBLE!! So glad youre better!

Kalia

So glad and thankful that you have recovered. And all of the props to you for doing everything you did while you were going through your flareup. I have eczema that flares on my face and upper arms when stressed, so thanks to COVID and having a baby in May with a trip to the NICU I looked like a Dalmatian for two months. Rereading AB and MPL definitely helped me get through all of that stress and my meltdowns. I absolutely love your art and so glad you have a strong support at home :) you two keep rocking and kick butt at the rest of 2020! ❤️❤️

Victoriaaatoons

Lily thank you for sharing this update. I am so sorry that you’ve been experiencing all those things. Many hugs and “thank yous” to you for all your hard work and dedication. Continue to stay safe and do the things you must to stay well (mentally and physically) 💕

patience

You're poor hands! And all this time you've been creating a masterpiece without a serious hiatus! You are truly boss. Congratulations on your mortgage loan approval! I hope you find your dream house! You are an inspiration (seriously, my husband and I have been looking at Wacom products and discussing a my potential comic in the future). And it's all because of you and you're stories and art! Love you Lily! Take care of yourself, your fans will still be here no matter what!

Sarah

I’ve been through one bad and/or stressful thing after another this year on top of the COVID stuff everyone is dealing with, so I FEEL YOU. I’m glad your hands are healing and you have a work space you feel more comfortable in. I wish you all the best with what the future holds (the mortgage and lawyer consultations sound like it might hold some exciting stuff for you)! 💜

Lauren M

So sorry for all the crappy 2020 vibes! Bless you and your resilience! You can do anything ❤️

stargazing

I have dyshidrotic eczema too. it's wild because here in my state, really no one had heard of it and I've had it for the past 17 years. I hate that you suffer from from it, but you're not alone! and I'm so glad that you have a supportive partner/family to help you. thank you for sharing your story; you are so appreciated, and I'll be here no matter what happens.

Pengwyn

Holy cow girl you've been through some SHIT! I'm glad things are looking better fo you though. 2020 hasn't really been kind to anyone and I think we're ALL struggling in our own way. It was really strong and brave of you to share your struggles and we would have had no idea you were going through even ONE of those situations with the wonderful content that you churn out for us. Kudos to you and kudos to your MAN! Where can I get me one of those?!?! I hope things continue to be on the up and up for you! 🤞 And thank you for everything you do for us! We love you, girl! 💜

Rachel Salyers

Wow, your 20 20 has been a shit show, my 20 20 also has sucked. I'm thankful you kept fighting and that your health has improved 🙏 🙌 also im thankful for Mr lily helping you! Its life changing when you have someone that cares for you when you can't care for yourself ❤ you go girl 🤘

Tessalted

I hope this doesn't come off as insensitive, but as a person with ezcema and a serious scab picker, those hands make me wanna scratch my own palms so bad! I can't imagine how painful that was for you. You are so incredibly strong but I hope you don't ever feel the need to push through your own medical issues just to satisfy us. We satisfied just knowing your happy and healthy! ❤❤❤

K. Kayelvili

Much love and care for you Lily ❤❤❤ Sorry you've had to endure all of that while trying to meet these deadlines 😩 Your skin condition looks awfully painful but so glad it's healing and looking better now. Thank you so much for having been so consistent with your chapter updates despite all of these you're going through. You've been such an angel to us all 😭

Bonny Rozzi

Your one tough cookie Lily, and I appreciate you everyday ❤ Your art gives me such pleasure. My 85 yrs young Dad still has the best advice. One day ata time honey, one day ata time. Be thankful for small favors. 😚

Natasa

Always take care yourself and try to avoid stress. Everything will be alright! 😉😊😘 take care.

TeenyMartini

I’m so happy that it seems like you’re on the mend both physically and mentally. Thank you so much for sharing your difficulties with us, I’m sure it wasn’t easy. I hope all this change puts you in a better mind space and that you can enjoy your work again. Above all else, we want you to be happy and healthy. ❤️

Nikki Roberts

Your skin is yours and it’s a beautiful one! No need to apologize or think it’s gross girl we all have our things to manage when it comes to our bodies. This brings whole new level of appreciation for what you must go through to push your creativity from mind to paper and for that I am so THANKFUL. You’re a warrior 💕 sending positive vibes for you lily

U'ilani Jesse-Kealanahele

Ugh I freaking love you ❤️ I’m glad that everything is going well for you now - post eczema flare up and having your own workspace at home. Thank you for being so candid with your fans, I can say that I’m not the only one that appreciates it. Congrats on the mortgage loan! Good luck and take care!

Kristina Shelton

Just remember you come first! Your health us more important. You have such a wonderful husband to help you out. I seen true colors of my husband after my csection. He helped me out in every possible way 😊 I just hope the rest of your year is better than the start of it. Glad you've gotten your hand under control. My temptation would be so high on the need to peel eventhough painful 😬😬

JL

The eczema looks painful so glad you’re doing better. Our bodies know when we’re emotionally or mentally stressed. I’m glad you were able to make some home arrangements. That office sounds dreadful. I worked in what was a huge construction zone (formerly industrial) part of the city. The side streets get pretty isolated. As a female, whenever I went out for lunch, I felt a bit intimidated because there would be sidewalks full of strong men sitting around or standing on one side of the sidewalk their break. Luckily they didn’t bother me, but I can’t imagine being the only female in the middle of the night walking around. And even if us females are all covered up, in broad daylight in a safe area, there’s people out there who will make unwanted verbal or physical contact. It definitely helps to take breaks. Even if it means you have to take a hiatus, we would understand. Your hands affect every aspect of your life, so we wouldn’t want your flare up to become so severe, it would cause permanent or long-term damage. We can wait because the wait is worth it and you’ve given us a high quality web comic. Hope that contract goes well and really excited to see what new opportunities it opens up for you.

Erin Anderson Volf

That looks miserable! I’m glad to see it’s looking better. Hopefully it feels a little better, too. I can’t imagine how frustrating it is having to deal with that on top of everything else.

LittleLuna

Miss Lily, Oh My Gods you have been through some shit this year!!! I’m so glad things are getting better! 2020 has to be a cursed year, but I can’t imagine going through what you have, thank you so much for all you do!!! I hope 2020 is on the up and up agin for everyone!!!!

Gem

Aww lily take care. Hope your better now ❤️❤️

Victoria Armstrong

Glad to see that you’re healing. Remember that you’re the most important person in your own life and that it literally cannot go on with you. Stay safe and be well 💙

Courtney Boylan

So sorry that your 2020 has been so stressful, and that you've had to deal with so much!! You're a trooper!! I hope that your health continues to improve and that your year starts to get better from here on out. You deserve a break!

JoAn

Oof. Sorry to hear of your flare up. Glad to hear you're doing better. I have plaque psoriasis all over my body. The flare ups are awful. The worse flare ups happen to my hands and feet. I never thought to try acupuncture for treatment. I don't do steroid treatments either! Thank you for sharing because I learned something new. Take good care of yourself.

Gabriela Bernardotti

Hola desde Argentina Lily!!!! 😁 El stress puede ser muy malo y a todos nos afecta de manera diferente. Un tropezón no es caída!!!!! 😅 Thank you for such a lovely work with Poppyland! I loved it for the first time I saw it! It's amaizing how honest you are being with us; Thanks for that! And remember: we are here supporting you!!!!! Kisses!!! 😘😘😘

Alyse Howard

I’m so glad that everything is turning around now and I hope the rest of the process of getting a house goes smoothly!

Laura

Lily, you are an inspiration for your hard work, strong will, with everything you’ve been through these past few months. Thank you for the life update and hopefully things will get better, the equipment will be fixed and the flare-ups go away.

Lisa Blackburn

Thank you for sharing! Just getting over a similar but lot less sever breakout (probably due to stress). 2020 has been hands down the worst year of my life but escaping to webcomics, and in particular waiting for MPLeach week is really helping me get through so a big thank you for sharing and for giving us a positive world to escape in to!

Lillith78x

Glad it’s improved and you have such wonderful support! Hope it only gets better from here!

AndySaro

Take care of yourself Lily. That's #1! Without our health we can't enjoy the people we love, the things we like to do. 2020 has been a rough year for many people in different ways. I left a job once bc of the long work hours. Still do the same thing just somewhere else that is more considerate of people's time. Once I got use to a better balance my quality of life improved. Hope you find a better balance and enjoy something other than work a little more. I saw a Ted talk once where you write your goals for the day. Like spending time with the hubs, self care, finishing x at work. Then writing what you actually did. Sometimes what we want and what we do doesn't align. I need to do this again, been slacking on something I really want but have been having a hard time willing myself to do it bc 2020 has been cray cray messing with my emotions. Anyways what I'm trying to say is your not alone, everyone struggles somehow and I hope life continues to improve for you.

EmeryDiLoncrete

I'm so sorry this has happened to you. Exhaustion and high stress levels are dangerous and real. It has such a negative impact in our bodies, physically and mentally. It's almost amazing how our bodies warns us and "shuts down" when reaches dangerous unhealthy levels. It almost seems unfair that the eczema will target your hands, the source of your work! And fucking unbelievable that you still managed to upload the episodes, girl, that's pushing it too much. I'm going to dare and ask you to reconsider this if it happens again (I honestly hope it doesn't). And I also dare to say the majority of your patreons are here to support you and see you success. So fuck anyone who dares questions you when you need a most deserve break and specially if it's for your own health. My husband was diagnosed with autoimmune psoriasis. We had no clue he had this, until a couple of life events triggered the break out. Source: Dangerous high stress levels. Both of us had to adjust our lifestyle, start eating healthier, exercise, practice meditation. Our bodies are amazing, but also fragile and we need to take care of it. I'm so glad you're on the recovery phase. I send you the warmest healing hug and shout out to your hubby for being so awesome with you! Oh and your cats too 😻 (cat lady here 🙋) Also keep up keeping up! A new house it's exciting but caution, the fucking process it's stressful, keep an eye out. And the contract as well 🥳🥳🥳 to all the doors that'll open with it! Cheers to all the good things that are happening in your life! ❤️❤️❤️

Alicia

Omg my best friend in high school had that same eczema problem randomly happen to her too! We didn’t know what the hell it was and it was really scary. She’d get it and then itd go away and then come back, healing very slowly. I don’t think it was on her hands, just her arms. I don’t know if she ever really knew what it exactly was so I gotta tell her it actually has a name! Thank you for sharing your story.

BegoniaRex

Chronic skin issues are the worst! I'm glad you are on the mend and feeling less stressed now. I hope your hands continue to heal well. Thank you for the amazing story you've given us!

rubia1213 .

My family suffers from eczema. Pretty painful for them. Glad qll is well. Take care of yourself Lily.

Katherine Abarza

Hello lyli, well something similar happened to me, I do acrylic nails and I got a contact dermatitis, all the skin came off my hands and a horrible infection that not even my butt could clean and this happened 1 year ago and until the Today I have not been able to return to what I love the most than doing nails but I am happy for you that you are better and always with great caution, I hope you are still in good health so that you continue giving us your stories Chao a kiss ...

Carol

Lily I'm so glad to hear your back in a positive place now trust me I know how you feel, I have psoriasis my self and when I stress out I flare out and it causes me to be depress because I feel embarrassed. It got so bad I was actually hospitalized 2 times! Thank god I'm in the middle ground right now but holidays are coming which is the biggest time of the year for me because I'm a baker. Your work and the fan base on FB helps me with the stress to be honest, so I thank you for that 😁😊

Byhd

Lily you are a freaking bad ass!!! I am so sorry that you have been going through all of this but thank you for sharing this with us. I'm so glad that everything is looking up now and that you are healing ❤️ also shout out to your hubby for being awesome!! Happy you have a good partner in crime!!!!

IcingQuinYang2

You've just finished a series of challenges that have made you a stronger person. I'm wondering what sets off thir eczema attacks. Stress, diet? But as a fan I'm thankful you have come out stronger. The one thing that stood out for me in your essay is your husband's love and support. That's gold. You also must have read the many web novels that always include a sentence about the Male lead blow drying the female lead's hair. Ergo you have the perfect romance. Keep strong, healthy and be well always. I'm happy to know you and follow you throughout your journey. Parting shot be kind to us mortals echo want to live vicariously through the lives of #tora and #poppy. #badump

Stephanie Davis

You are so blessed🙏🏾 because you still have the drive and motivation to keep going. That is why I support you💚. I love your art work and and stories. You are a true atirst. And an awsome person. 2020 is the year of challenge and willpower and you have shown that in so many ways. If you have to raise the prices for Patreon I would still gladly contribute and support. You are amazing Lily💚💚😊

Goodness that's a 2020 for you! I'm glad things are looking up. I get eczema inside my ears so I get how maddening it can be. Also the worst flare-up I've ever had this year. (Come on, 2020!) I had to try so many different things to alter masks because my ear was swollen and anything touching it was super painful, including laying on my pillow to sleep. I'm still astonished it didn't result in another ear infection. Hopefully things stay positive for you and that wonderful hubby. 💜

KarlieKat

I'm so glad you're doing better Lily! I'm sorry 2020 has been off to a terrible start, but I hope the rest of 2020 gets better! We all want you to be your healthiest happiest self! Please don't feel guilty about not working, you deserve to relax! Take some time for yourself, you deserve breaks!! I love you Lily! ❤❤❤

Naomi

What a year you had! I'm glad you're doing better! The fact that you still made comics while your hands were in this state is mind blowing. I don't know how you did it honestly. ❤️

GenX

Thank you for sharing, Lily. Hope all things will be looking up for you moving forward. 2020 really sucks but I’m still hopeful. Take care of yourself. Mr. Lily is awesome for taking good care of you. ♥️

Shef1007

I deal with eczema patients daily, and they are some of the most stressful cases in the Derm world. I'm beyond happy to hear you've found a steroid free regimen! As for 2020 I'm sorry to hear how stressful the start of the year was and I hope, hope, hope it all goes up from here! I'm just amazed you were able to create comics through all this🤯 You're definitely an inspiration ❤

Trex Bex

Take care of yourself Lily! I love this comic, but your health is the most important thing! If you need time for your physical and mental health you should take it. We’ll still be here!

Katie Stansfield

Hey Lily! Thank you for updating all of us on how things are going 🥰 I'm so sorry 2020 has been so awful for you... I'm really happy that you were able to make the changes you needed to improve your mental health! I'll admit working from home has really improved my outlook on alot of things and I've even started working out again! Sending lots of hugs and kisses! Hoping the rest of your 2020 is the bomb 💗

Tiffany Scoughton

I’m sorry you’ve had a rough go at life! But I’m super stoked you’re in a safer environment as well that your flare up chilled it’s ass out!! Give yourself some rest time & enjoy being home with the hubby ❤️ Thanks for all you do!!

Alison

Happy you're doing better! 2020 has just been plain awful! Thank you Mr Lily for taking good care of our Mrs Lily! Sending love and hugs!

Not Me

After reading all of that, i just wanted to give you a big hug! You deserve so many good things. And I am very happy for you and your approval for your mortgage! That is so exciting - Congratulations! You accomplish so much despite the setbacks. You are a wonderful example for others to strive to become :)

sara bedard

I’m so glad you’re okay. Stay strong.

QueenTorres14

Yes you had a rough time through out your life. But I know with all your hard work and suffering your future will get way better. Because you deserve it. Hugs to you! Im glad you have a hubby that loves and cares for you. Now go rest darling.❤❤

CoCoPuff_BB

I'm glad you still find joy in the little day to day things. Also kudos to your supportive hubby!!! I'm just glad u haven't given up, keep pushing. Big blessings are coming your way!

CherryBluster

I get that same eczema but never that bad. ☹️ I can't imagine - even with my mildish flare ups, my hubby has to turn keys and open things for me. Glad you're on the mend!

Moniliza

Lily!!! Please take care of yourself first. I too was a workaholic when I was in corporate and during that spans every month I was sick with something odd like ear infections or my breast would flare up( nothing to do with period but it was painful). After I was let go in January I transition to freelance from home, I have not had a single random sick thing and realized the importance of mental health can affect the body. Thank you so much for opening up your story! If mpl is delayed I would understand because you matter

Matcha_Cakes

Thank you for sharing Lily! I hope that you will feel better. How resilient you are is an inspiration, but I hope you are able to take some more time for yourself. We appreciate you so much!

Tia Ledvina

We support you Lily! I hope everything starts to even out soon for you. And a preemptive congratulations on purchasing a home!

Roxyfoxyrachel

I'm so sorry to hear you've been struggling with all that! I'm glad things have been on the mend tho and looking up. Please take care of yourself, we love you and are gonna be here. ♡♡♡

Laura R

Lily, you are a warrior. I love that you use acupuncture and TCM to heal yourself. I love acupuncture. My four year old daughter suffers from eczema on her hands and fingers and her flare ups produce those itchy blisters, too. We work hard daily to keep it under control so it doesn’t get that bad, so I can sympathize (in part) with what you experience. I’m glad you’re doing better and other positive changes are coming your way. Please continue to care for yourself.

Stephanie Mercado

Siempre cuida tu mente primero. El cuerpo a veces también escuchará. También tengo eccema, no estás solo. eventualmente dejé los esteroides. ¡buena suerte!

Teagan Peng

Glad that your hands are healing 🤗 Thank you so much for your hard work despite the circumstances, I really find joy in your work and always look forward to it - no matter the wait. Thank you for sharing the hardship and I'm so glad you got someone like Mr Lily supporting you ♡

Pauly UM

Wow this 2020 it's a real sh*t... but, with your family had pass all this nightmare! I hope you will fine and you fell better! I send you all the best!

Life is beautiful

After reading all of that, I want to say you are the MVP! You have gone through so much; yet here you are. Thank you so much for sharing with us about all of this. Your health is our #1 priority! I am happy you are getting better! You are a strong independent woman who is actually WONDER WOMAN!! Mr.Lily Thank you So So so so so much a million times for supporting our beloved Lily. May the universe bless the 2 of you and your cats. Ms.Lily you are too amazing! I am so proud of everything you have accomplished you should feel very proud of your self you took huge steps. I hope life gives you so much much more because you deserve that and more. Maybe being in that building was the reason your body was reacting the way it did. Thankfully you have your own home office now. Thank you for all the sacrifices you have done. You have been hurting and still you have given us episode after episode of MPL and NSFW. I send you and Mr.Lily all the blessings of the universe and all the positive vibes you guys deserve. Sending much love and thank you for keeping us updated. We love you with all of our hearts! 💓💓💓 May your hands feel even better. 💓 You got this like a true champion!

Maddie May

I have the same eczema! I’ve never seen anyone with the same condition. Mine is also triggered by stress/anxiety as well as blue soaps like dawn and tide as well as certain cleaning products. If I touch them my hands will flare up really bad. I’m so sorry you’ve had to deal with this, and thank you for sharing. I’m sure that must have been difficult but just know that everyone who matters supports you 1000% and we will not ever fault you for taking time for your mental and physical health. ❤️

Laura Jones

Damn girl.... that is some rough stuff! So sorry you've been through the ringer, but I'm glad you're back home to work and feeling better for it! Props to Mr. Lily! He sounds like a stand up dude! I hope the rest of the year really picks up the first half's slack, I mean.. the WHOLE YEAR can't be a raging dumpster fire... right?? *cries quietly* For real though, I'm sure Covid didn't help your stress levels, so I really am glad to hear (at least from your tone here) that things are getting better, at least physically and emotionally, stress-wise. Hope you get your computer fixed. That's bananas.

Vicky RoOcH

Shout out to Mr.Lily! I've learned of something new. I didn't know one could experience something so painful on their hands 💔 😢. I'm glad its getting better. I pray everything works out for you and hubs!

Irene A

Thank you for honoring us with your share, Lily. I do wonder how you're doing. You're amazing in that you realized the health connections within only a few months. Most people would take so much longer, if at all. Your insight is always impressive. . It seems a year for everyone to have major changes and reevaluations. We've not escaped them either. But since our challenges are the only way through which we can grow our character, then I try to see them as opportunities. I'm so glad you're feeling better. Please feel free to ask for healing prayers anytime. Or if you would like a full healing session, then just dm me. I'm professionally trained in natural healing and would be happy to gift you a session. 🤗

StellarMediocre

Very glad some of these things are behind you and no longer a problem. Thank you for sharing your difficult year with us, and I hope things that are still in motion resolve peacefully for you ❤️

Eri821

So happy you feel comfortable opening up and that things are in the up and up. It’s always good to talk about things to help get the ball of stress untangled and we are here for you just like you’re here for us. 💜

Mia Valdez

Oh lord this year is getting to everybody, I had a stress rash on my neck because of nursing school. Never do nursing school in a pandemic or online lol it’s awful. But Lilydusk my goodness! You are a trooper, I admire your work, and appreciate you! Thank you for still providing your art to us your readers despite what you had going on. I’m so happy that you’re feeling better and yes as everyone has said please take care of yourself 😊

Magdalene Akatogri

U are the best girl, I couldn't imagine myself drawing with these hands but u worked through them. U are one strong woman and God rewarded u with a good husband. Don't hesitate to take anytime off whenever u need it. We love ur comics but we love u most to see u forcing urself to work in the most uncomfortable situation😥. Glad u are back home, with all ur family by u but most importantly we thank God for ur health and that ur condition is getting better.

Jessica Yang

Glad to see you’re healing. Continue to have those self-care moments. Thanks for all that you do for your readers. 🙏

Sakura Jane

You work too hard for us, lily! We always appreciate your hard work and effort! As you know, you are a talented, strong woman! As being said, you deserve a lot of attention! We all want to thank you for everything ❤️❤️💗💗💗 lots of love

Emily T

oh that sounds exhausting lily, im sure none of us want you to work through discomfort physically nor mentally, no one should have to suffer like this! these behind the scenes give a lot of context so thank you ❤️ from more weekly breaks to financial milestones (like a another tier?? “support the authors IRL health and happines” where the rewards don’t take real work like snapshots of cat pictures or BTS of your cozy new home office?) please let us know if we can help support in any way!

Ele_Smiles

Wow! You have been going through it. Your poor hands! Ouch! I can’t believe the beautiful work and long episodes you produce while going through all of this. What a dedicated hard working person you. We all wish you good health and success in your endeavors ❤️

Keleigh Block

You are such an amazing person and inspire thousands of fans with your comics! Thank you for everything you do for us! We support you 100 percent!

Tess Walker

You are amazing Lilydusk. Thank Lord you are better now. We appreciate your efforts to bring beautiful work. Keep it up. 🥰👩‍🎨👩‍💻🍀🍃🌺🎨💗💕

Judy

You’re amazing Lily!! Thank you for sharing something personal with us!! We love you!! ♥️♥️♥️

MissT

I can't imagine how you got through so many chapters with that. You're such a talented and driven and empathetic creator. It's wonderful to hear you are on the mend and away from a working situation that made you feel unsafe. Give Mr. Lily a big hug from the fandom ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Belle

Thank you Lily for the beautiful work every week and life updates sharing. Feel very positive to read all supporting words from other patrons to you, very uplifting for a year like 2020. Please take good care of yourself 🙏🙏🙏🍓🍓🍓

Asriana Moyd-Maliwat

I have atopic dermatitis and nummular dermatitis. Eczema sucks so much. I'm glad your last flare up wasn't as bad, and that you're doing much better now. Hope you close on your house soon!!!

LizardBreath

We love you, Lily! Glad things are calming for you and I'm sorry it sounds like 2020 has been extra shitty to you. May God bless you abundantly, sweet lady!

Mimi Mesa

You were the first person I have ever supported on Patreon and I’m so glad I made the decisions to. Life gets hard all at once but just so you know your work does not go unappreciated. I can’t count the many times your story and your dedication to us (your fans) has made my darkest and shittiest of days so much lighter and happier. Thank you for all you have endured and sacrificed. If you ever need a break just know, and I think I can speak for mostly everyone of your fans, we will still be here supporting you. ❤️❤️ you really are amazing 😁🙌🙌

Autumn S.

I'm so sorry about your beautiful hands. I'm glad they are feeling better. I'm glad things are turning around for you!! I love you!!! Sending hugs and love your way!!!

Amy Crumbaugh

I think we can all agree that YOU are the straight-up boss here. To think that you were providing us with so much content, and feeling the need to apologize when you felt that the content wasn’t “enough,” all on top of your personal struggles. You’re nothing short of miraculous, and you have ZERO need to apologize to us for being human. It takes a strong ass woman to say, “These are my boundaries, this is what I’ve been going through, and this is how I’m going to take care of myself.” You doing what you do and being who you are is already enough. We are happy to take Lily in any form, so long as you are content and healthy.

Betsihepsibah

All the more reason to appreciate your work & You. I am glad to hear things are going well and that your eczema is getting better. You are the sole definition of a true warrior. Thank you—you inspire me everyday .💜💜💜

Cheri M

Wow! I give you major props for dealing with the eczema on your hands in your line of work. I can’t imagine how much anxiety that must have given you.

Diana

Your hubby is hubby of the year! That’s a wonderful partner to have. Glad to know you’re doing better and are taking the steps you need to in order to better yourself. You’re in my thoughts 💕

Christina Agan

Lily, thank you for sharing with us. As others have said before me, your work and dedication are peerless and I am amazed you were able to work through so much. I’m so glad to hear you are on the mend. Please never hesitate to take the breaks you need to heal and give yourself time to relax. We can all see how much of yourself your pour into your work, and we all appreciate it so very much. Give Mr. Lily a big hug for all of us and I hope you have some time to just relax soon. Also, give the kitties a cuddle for me! (Huge cat lover myself.) take care!

Grace Boone

First timer like Mimi Mesa here, and I totally agree!! I am shocked you were able to work at all with your poor hands, and glad you took a break for a bit to rest them. Your work is so amazing and has been one of the things helping me get through the last few months of grad school, so thank you!! A big shoutout to Mr. Lily too for being what sounds like an amazing partner. So glad you have him, and so glad your hands are healing! Big hugs to both of you, and of course the kitties too!

Sarah T

You’ve been through so much this year! I’m happy to hear that your eczema is better. That looks terribly painful! I can’t even imagine. Thank you for all you do. Your art and comics bring me so much joy, especially through all of my mental stress that this year has brought. Take care of yourself, and know that your fans are here to cheer you on!

Zoë Everett

I'm so so sorry to hear that, especially about your hands!! I make special holistic pine salve which helps with my eczema so if you ever want some to try please let me know. I know that sounds weird but it has helped me in so many ways with skin issues. It is all natural just olive oil, tallow, bees wax, and pine pitch. It's anti fungal, antiseptic. And so soothing. If you ever want to try it please message me. I'll send a small jar to you. I've read your comic for what seems like forever...watching your art grow and I love your patreon. 💛💛

Danielle Bright

Big hugs to you. This year has been a dumpster fire. I'm wishing you peace and positivity. I really look forward to MPL every week. Your art is stunning and I love the story. Thanks for all that you do.

Sunshine Fuu

I love that you use "tits up" sooo much, it's totally my go to phrase. I hear you, I got sick in January and my auto immune issues haven't stopped spiraling or calmed down a single month since. It's exhausting. Hang in there, you take care of you! Thanks Mr Lily for keeping Mrs Lily going so she can keep me going ;)

Vanessa Gutiérrez

Lily, I can relate a lot to your story. This past three year's I've been so focused on scientific research projects (which I loved at that period) to the point that I wouldn't give myself time for anything else. I wouldn't sleep at all some days, and others my anxiety would betray me and make me feel bad if I wasn't working (for example, while being in a party with friends, watching a movie, reading a novel, even resting... I would think "I'm wasting my time here, I should be working" ). I was overworking myself and one day I lost my sight for some minutes in a public place while I was alone, in daytime. Everything was so dark, as if someone turned off the lights spontaneously. That scared the hell out of me. Also I believe it was the way my body was telling me: please stop, you need to rest, you deserve to rest. Definitely I had a very toxic relationship with my own work. I ended up with burnt-out syndrome. Right now it is hard for me to continue working with scientific research, which is something I loved deeply, but I believe that I developed some aversion to it due to all that happened. I'm still healing, and I hope I can get back to it when I'm fully recovered, but with a healthy mindset. It has been a rough path but therapy is helping me a lot to get through it. We are humans, not machines. We deserve time for ourselves. That is something that I had a hard time learning. Thank you Lily for sharing this with us. I'm very proud of you and also you make me feel inspired to not let this beat me up. I love your comics so much and I will keep supporting you all the way. Sending you lots of love and stenght. Un abrazote. ❤️

A. J.

Oh my gosh, Ms. Lily. You are a trooper and a straight up Boss Lady. I'm so glad you are able to continue on with the things you love. Thank you for sharing your story and spreading awareness. I certainly learnt something. I cannot imagine the pain you had to endure 😔 and I'm so sorry you have to deal with this. I'm glad you know to take a break every now and then, your healthy and wellness should definitely be a top priority. Your art/comic is definitely the highlight of my Fridays, and I hope you are able to continue to share your art with your patrons/fans/followers. Be thinking of you. 2020 is almost ending, here's to hoping 2021 treats everyone better 🙏🏾

Maggie Drapeaux

I feel for you Ms. Lily. This year has been a total shit show from the start and only seems to be getting worse. My stress and anxieties have been through the roof. My number 1 remedy has been taking CBD and lavender epsom salt baths.

Julia G

Wow! I’m in awe that, through all this, you’ve still made so much progress with the story. You’ve said how much time and work goes into a single episode and with this condition, I can’t imagine how much harder the creation process was. I’m honored to have your work in my life and very happy to see you’ve been able to remove yourself from that negative environment. I’m also so happy for you that the treatment form your condition is helping and I pray it continues to. Something so debilitating must be so hard on you and high praise to your husband for helping you with the day to day things you struggled with. I’m honored that you shared with us this struggle you have. I glad you took that break too, I’m sure that also helped with your recovery.

Elle Jovellana

Hi Lily, Thank you so much for sharing your life update with us. You are courageous for showing us what you’re battling with and I hope you get better. I’m praying that you get healed and there will be no more flare ups for you. This year has been pretty sh*tty for me too. I can relate so much because 2 months ago, I had the worst eczema flare up on my arms and legs and I’m also trying to heal. I was almost as incapacitated as someone who broke their all fours. My doctor has to drastically change my diet and was limited only to spinach, broccoli, meat and water. I’m also not allowed to go out because my eczema made me develop severe sun allergies so I need to be cooped inside like a potato. Because of this, I’ve had frequent anxiety attacks and I felt I could no longer go on. I barely slept this past few months because of the pain, the nonstop itching and the amount of stress my body and mind has to go through. I have no choice but to quit my job. But surprisingly, after leaving my job I started healing. So what you said is true about being in a toxic workplace is unhealthy and can do all the damages to you. I wasn’t blessed with insight though, so I only found out after. Despite all that has happened, I’m still being positive (that’s not a good word right now, isn’t it?) rather I’m still hopeful that things will be better. And also, it was a blessing in disguise that I found MPL (youtube ad) while I was trying to soothe myself after a whole night of crying, cursing and intense itching. I started reading then and viola! here I am now, subscribed to your patreon and officially a Tobby stan and a weekly tin foiler. So, I want to thank you Lily for giving us MPL. I take it even as my regular therapy and I’ve never been happier. Sending you all the love and a virtual 🍱! ♥️

Christina Gibson

Oh man, that's a lot! I'm so happy things are improving for you and congratulations on the mortgage approval!

Starofsorrow

Ms. Lily - The eczema flareup looks incredibly painful! I'm glad you're on the mend and taking care of yourself. Thank you for sharing your struggles, I know that must have been difficult to do so. I'm also glad you were able to figure out what the main problem was, and then was able to take the steps to mitigate that. While working in an office has its own pros and cons, I think it shouldn't supersede your own happiness and mental well-being. For Mr. Lily - PROPS TO HIM! Is there any way we can thank him in some way? Perhaps add an extra buck or two to treat him to some coffee (or whatever drink he likes) since he's awesome? I'm so glad you've got someone who's incredibly supportive and helps you with what you need help with. <3 Congrats on the mortgage loan approval! I hope you guys will get a home that you guys will absolutely love, and I hope the rest of 2020 and 2021 will be good to y'all!

UnboundMelissa

We love you Lily! I’m not great with ever knowing what to say in comment sections, especially when I think my sentiments have been well stated by others already in the comments, but I just wanted to chime in and heap some more love and appreciation on you for all you do. You’re an absolute gem, and MPL brings me so much joy/entertainment/fantasies (lol 😏); so thank you for being you and putting your work out there for us to enjoy. You’re the best.

Bukgirl

Having a chronic illness sucks, it does (mine is migraines). a support system is so important and I’m glad you found one! Thank you for sharing and I really hope you keep moving forward. MPL is amazing and if you need breaks take the break.

Bubblebaths.n.books

So much love to you! I can't believe you've been dealing with all this...while still giving the entire fandom so much to love! Your comic and your Patreon are more than any of us deserve! You're a true Super Woman! Also...your nails are gorgeous!!!

Aliceinthewillowtree

I'm so glad you have the wonderful support system in your husband and have had the chance to make changes to reduce your stress levels. Autoimmune flares have a way of showing up at the worst times and I commend ya for boss ladying your way through it.

Annie J

Well Lily,  Patreon delete the reply I added as well as the original comment and your reply. 😅 But I will try again. We both know what I was talking about and I can confirm you're not the only one. I still have to work to not go back to where I was before. I still try to justify falling into these unhealthy patterns and I still don't listen to that little voice that says "Enough!"  So I got into the habit of talking about these situations with my boss and see if she says stop or not. And I listen to her since I don't listen to myself! What I can tell you is find someone you trust to be your voice of reason. And listen to them! 😂 I also got rid of toxic people and situations in my life and I focus on the good. (You and the fam, mostly 🥰) I still struggle with guilt at being "normal" and I feel like I'm being selfish for putting myself first. It's like that weird feeling you get once you're done with school and you're free to enjoy your evenings and weekends and you don't have to study or do homework.  I am here also to say you're allowed to be selfish and enjoy being "normal". Whatever you want your normal to be. ❤

Alyssa

Sending you and your lil fam lots of love! That sounds so hard; I’m glad you’re on the upswing it seems. Also I gotta nerd out and give you a super high five on your acupuncture and herbal treatment because I’m an acupuncturist, and it’s so heart warming to know how the medicine has helped you 💕 take good care!

Karina Mariel Lissi-Du Bois

Im glad things are slowly working out again and becoming les stressful! You’re a rockstar and you got this! Side note: the third pic of your finger looks like a little photo shoot. Really nice dark background and your finger is completely in focus and it’s got nice lighting on it. Am I the only one who thought that? 😆 For real tho, that does not look fun at all and I’m glad ur hands are finally recovering. ❤️

Kayla

Im so sorry you’ve had to go through that and I am super happy you’re healing and doing better!! Im praying that you receive all the blessings in the world! Negotiate like the boss you are bc your work is marvelous and you deserve all the coins! Congratulations on your mortgage approval, and getting a home is awesome, adulting you’re winner! And please do take care of yourself and your health, those absolutely come first💕💕 and s/o to Mr. Lily for being husband of the year lol

Infinitecherry

I also get eczema on my hands, though not as bad, but it can get pretty bad in the crease of my armpits and behind my knees or more recently on my knees, so I know the feeling. Glad you're doing better and that you have a treatment that works for you. Because mine is not so bad I just use this all natural cream from Australia lol. Thank you for sharing your updates (both life and art) with us! 💕

Quinesso

It takes a lot to even share what’s going on with yourself and your life. My hubby has the same issue with his skin. One thing I learned- any item with disodium edta was irritating and caused flare ups. So I removed everything and made sure he avoid them. You are admirable for even still working through all the craziness and I’m glad you moved back home. That office wasn’t worth your sanity 🙈 you also shared some “wins” which is wonderful. It shows life does have both - not all downs but some ups. Keep going!

Corina feist

Hey Lily! Thank you for the update. Thank you for continuing to spoil us with these gorgeous chapters and our badass hamster and Tora boy. We love you, and we are so grateful for your time and this story you’ve built. We do not deserve you. Take care, we love you ❤️

BluDragonArt

Lots of hugs! I get psoriasis flare ups on my fingers 😞 which causes fissures and pain. I hope your year continues to get better and I’m amazed at all your hard work while enduring so much!

Ninjab00ty

Thank you for sharing your struggles and I hope you’re feeling better! Congrats on the mortgage loan as well!

Penny Koligas

Thank you so much for sharing! I wish you all the best. Take care of yourself and your precious hubby. You are a very strong-willed and focused person, working so hard even though you were dealing with such difficulties. You are an inspiration to us all. Thank you. Oh!...Thumbs up for Mr. Lily! God bless you.

Pocari

From the bottom of my heart, thank you, Midnight poppy land has been one of the highlight of my week for month (and secret garden posts ;) and I’m so amazed that despite everything going on in your life you worked so hard to provide us with such quality content every single week ! We don’t deserve you 😭 Please take care of yourself and I hope you can take a break with webtoon if it gets to much (you did with Patreon, and i am happy you did it, it’s so important to listen to yourself and your own body!) So much love to you ❤️❤️

Natalia Ramos

Thank you for your hard work and dedication!!! I’ll be praying for your healing and for your other problems to be resolved !!!!! We truly appreciate the work you do! Take it easy on yourself 🥰

Kimi Kimja

Former E.R./I.C.U. then home health nurse here. You drew what when you were in that much pain??!! The pain alone devastates then the dryness and that itch. My former clients and the itch. ..oh gawd! Bowing down to you. Thanking you for loving us that much. Im almost 60 and would like to tell you something with love: Your angel of a hubby...you....there is a bond there stronger than everything God created...never leave it but if you do work isn't going to be a good reason. I watched my friends marry in our 20s and over the last 10 or so years Ive watched these bonds weaken and dissolve. Why? Because things were valued higher than the bond was, stressful situations began arising and so on. It took me until my early 50s to understand that...I never got married because I couldn't understand it I grew up watching my parents and grandparents value that bond above all else. Loving each other until one passed on. Its real love and it is the only thing we can carry with us into the next life. It is also the thing that binds you two making easy to find each other eternally. Love is the tie that binds💜💜💜

Kae

Thank you for sharing this with us. Opening up about personal challenges is never easy. I can’t imagine trying to work under that kind of pain and stress. You are a fucking rockstar (hubby too). I’m so glad you’re in a better place now and I can’t wait to hear more about your new endeavors. Here’s to the better half of 2020 🤞🏽😘

Cherie

Thank you for taking all of us on this adventure with you. Wishing you so much love and joy! ❤️🌈

Margaret Woods

Sending you all the love and good vibes ❤❤❤❤❤

Valerie Stolp

I am 100% shocked at how little you have complained or made excuses throughout this. You are such a cool person, and it's awesome that you get so many good changes now!! Hurrahhh!!!

Heidi

Take care of yourself, babe ❤️❤️❤️

Dani

Ohhhhhh my dear Lily, I just want to thank you for trusting us with such personal information. I want to thank you for still being able to produce such beautiful art and storyline for all of your Fandom all the while you were going through your own stressful situations. Perseverance is somewhat of a rarity and you've managed through what seems to me some pretty tough things. I don't know what your or anyone else that is part of the Lily Patreon familys beliefs are spiritually, but I will be praying for you. Dear girl, thank you for this because to now know what you've been experiencing and to be able to pray for you is just as much as a blessing to me as I am declaring it will be for you. Breakthrough and healing for you darling. Also just incase you aren't aware, I just want you to mindful that if you are using more natural remedies please be sure that if you are taking any "western meds" for anything else just take precautions in understanding how these things work (natural remedies/western meds), this way you won't possibly be over medicating. It is awesome that your husband is doing a beautiful job making sure that you are priority!!! ❤❤❤ Very good sir!!! Congratulations beautiful on the mortgage loan!!! We love you so much!!! I am seriously wanting you to understand that if you need rest please take it. Be kind to yourself and know that we aren't going anywhere. Lots of love an tons of air hugs to you and the family (including the kittys)🤗🤗🤗

Sending lots of love to you and your family and if you ever need more time off from MPL please do so! Will be waiting, your story is everything to us!❤

Ldyblue

I just want to say Thank you sharing your health issues and I want you to know that you are a strong woman to go through all that pain and itch to bring us your wonderful art work and stories! Your husband is an angel for taking such great care of you and I believe that is what help you heal faster! Congratulations on your mortgage loan as well! I will keep in my prayers and I am just grateful that you are now on the healing side mentally and physically! ❤️❤️❤️❤️💜💜

Alpina10

Dear Lily , may I ask what does TCM stand for ? 🙈 I also suffer from eczema and I don't want to use cortisone anymore so I would be very much interested in alternative options you might recommend. Shout out to you for going through stressing times like this and still bless us with amazing and high standards episodes every week! Nb: I heard that eczema may be affected by stress levels ... also I have read a book about some inner/emotional significations of diseases according to where they hit you. Can't remember the title though, but I can look for it. I found it quite interesting ! Hugs 🤗

JasmiNails

Thank you so much Lilydusk for sharing with us. Sharing MPL with us and putting your soul out there for us to love is difficult in itself, but sometimes it's even harder sharing the tough things that are going on behind the scenes. Although I've been reading MPL since it was on discover, I only recently became a patron (literally didn't really understand what Patreon was until recently). Being a part of your community has really helped with my emotional well being so much, MPL and your patreon is my emotional self-care go-to. I'm so glad you have Mr. Lily as your support system, because then you're able to create such beautiful work, which then becomes our support system. I'm so glad you've found a great way to manage you eczema, I've got psoriasis and am still looking for a better way to manage it. Also can totally relate to trying to qualify for a mortgage, though my income can be pretty consistent as a flight attendant, my husband is self-employed and it's a huge pain in the ass trying to qualify for anything. I'm so glad that things have been working out in your favor and I hope things just keep going up from here. Thanks again for sharing with us and being super real and relatable in everything you do. Never hesitate to ask for the support you need in your times of struggle, you've done so much for all of us readers.❤️

TanyaC9

Ugh I swear you are an absolute QUEEN. You give us so much even with dealing with eczema, which I know is uncomfortable. My 5 year old has eczema all over her body and due to itching she gets staph/MRSA infections quite easily. We're trying to find the perfect cream to help her flair ups but nothing works. We want to try a non steroid cream but goodness its expensive. Anyway. I'm glad you were able to move an office into your home, I bet that makes thing so much easier on you.😁 Thank you for just being you and for all you do for us🥺

Patty

Oh jeez Lily. I have dyshidrotic eczema myself, for me it's exclusively on my feet which is frustrating and painful because it's difficult for me to walk. I can't even imagine what it's like to have a flare that severe on your hands. I just wanted to mention though, that I hope you didn't feel like you had to post pictures as "proof" of why you may be late on posts or whatnot. Everyone who is a patron here should always understand that the life of an artist is extremely difficult, and comes with all, if not more, of the hardships than a traditional 9-5. Don't ever feel like you have to prove to us with evidence why things are the way they are. People who complain don't deserve what you give us. Much love, Lily, glad to hear about the move. Take some time off and recover.

Danica Lamphere

Take care of yourself covid is a traumatic experience for us will. I'm glad to hear your feeling bettef!

JayDizzleFoShizzle

I’m glad you are on the mend with your eczema! I’ve had a different kind since childhood, I feel your pain on the flare ups! Thumbs up you for realizing the stressful environment! I just recently came to that conclusion for my job, I was feeling way overwhelmed and had a few sleepless nights due to anxiety. However, I am working on it. That’s all we can do for now, so glad your in a better place!

iendive

I had the same thing when I was a teenager, Disidrosy it was called in italian, the web tells me it's Dyshidrosis in English but I think it's the same as what you're calling as it sure as hell looks the same. My heart goes out to you, it's horribly itchy and then when it gets to the dry skin it would get so bad it would crack and bleed (also because I played volleyball and didn't want to give it up) and then be painful. We tried so many different things in the end Glaxo made a cream that was the only thing that worked for me. I still have a small amount in a tube I wish I could send to you lol. It used to go away and come back :( but finally with that cream it went away once and for all. Glad you've got treatment, if it doesn't work keep looking for alternatives! At the time we were throwing everything at it, even a compound mixed by a pharmacist that was all chaulk-y. Anyway best wishes and good luck, hope it goes away for good soon!!

Sylvaine

Lily darling, omg! You don’t need to prioritize us over your own health. I can’t speak for every single person out there, but I’d certainly rather wait for your complete recovery than read the next episode despite it being the story I look forward to the most every week. I and so many of your fans are in this for the long haul. It would be a great loss to us too if your condition worsened from all the stress and deadlines. I myself have rheumatoid arthritis. When it flares up, which is rather often recently, I often end up too pained and petrified to be able to use them as well. My doctors say my case is incurable and I’m constantly afraid that I would end up unable to use them ever again one day. RA damage is irreversible once the swollen cartillage has turned to bone. I severely hope that your condition is curable. It would make me extremely happy to know you’ve healed completely; body, mind, and soul. You still have so much to offer the world. It would be a great tragedy to lose your health over this. So, even though MPL is the one story I can’t ever wait to read, you will always be more important than your work. Screw deadlines and screw stress! I love you, Lily, and I’m never leaving. ❤️ Take the time you need. Don’t push yourself so hard! Please focus on your own recovery. Your quality of life will always be more important than your work. Don’t hesitate to use us as your support group! We want what’s best for you. I know I absolutely do.

Rachel Akau

Hugs and love to you, Lily!!!! I appreciate you and all you do for us! Your health and well being is number one priority and i can wait for all the stuffs until you recover and feel less stress from life. I mean, it's been a very stressful and sad/ heartbreaking year for myself. So don't be too hard on yourself! You are loved and cherished here! And big BIG props to Mr. Lily for taking care of you!! ❤❤❤❤

TeHeeJones

Lilydusk my gosh you are so driven and strong💜! I'm so sorry about your skin condition. It definitely looks super painful! Please never feel obligated to push yourself on our account. We your true fans will always be patiently waiting for you. Wonderful to hear you got some great medication to clear your hands up!!! Lilydusk your studio atmosphere sounds similar to Tora apartment 🙁. Dark and depressing. Definitely not a good place to be in with increased anxiety, so I'm glad you decided to move back home. Mr lily sounds wonderful! Definitely where you need to be for use! Combing your hair (I love when my husband does that) and him doing the chores without you having to ask... Couldn't get any better than that! Apple products, I'm not a fan myself but I would definitely have returned that piece of crap by now if it's isn't working properly! Congrats on officially being self employed 🎉!!! Your so talented!!! I hope one day they will make an anime about midnight Poppy land 😍😍😍!!! Take care of yourself for us 🥰!!!

Arsyllid

We love you, Lily! Please take care of yourself ❤️❤️

Fred

Hang in there Lily! I know your suffering and I'm glad you are healing. You have such pretty hands too! And yes that sounds corny but it's TRUE. Take care and thank you Mr Lily for taking care of our favourite artist! 🌺

Nimbrennil

I very much enjoy your artwork! And your storytelling. Stories like yours are what help me keep going through the mess that is this year. Glad to hear you found a way to help reduce your anxiety. I have certainly been through this before and it’s amazing that you don’t realize how stressful and agonizing it’s gotten until you finally get out of it. You are irreplaceable and I’m glad you’re taking time to put yourself in a good place!

Sarah

Ouch 😣 my daughter had eczema like that on her face when she was a few weeks old. Not a fun time. Can’t imagine how sore it would be on your hands. Hope you’re well and truly on the mend ❤️

Samantha Raszeja

Good for you for acknowledging your mental state and taking actions to better yourself and do what’s best for you. that is not an easy task and we so often talk ourselves out of taking action, thinking we are being dramatic or not realizing our mental health has been compromised at all! Very happy for you and the steps your taking. Your amazing!

PleasantPeasant

I’m happy you are on the right track to being better—-recognizing the detractors is hard in this messy thing called adulthood! Glad you’re back home & with one of the best life partners you could ever want, toast to this man! ^_^

Sofia

Oh Lily, that's terrible to hear. That type of rash (don't know the right expression) is horrible. Had it for almost ten years on my hands every summer until it got up to my elbows. Then I discovered by chance that I have a gluten intolerance (not the coeliac thing) and stopped eating gluten altogether with avoiding washing dishes without gloves. Since then my hands are back to their old normal self. I wish you all the best in finding the right solution to your rashes! Sometimes the doctors only know how to prescribe cortisone creams but the reason lies in various things. Lots of love and good energy 🙌❤️

Sara H

Glad you're on the road to recovery and hopefully things will keep improving! Way to go Mr. Lily! Can I borrow him to do some chores around here!? 😆 Apple should just replace your MacBook. I've had several MacBook Pros and they've gotten fixed without hassle. That's unfortunate and Apple should take care of this pronto!

Cleide Sousa

Lily, things in my country has totally lost control and the pandemy+poverty is creating a caos here. I'm a kindengarden teacher at public school, and classes are suspended, thank God, because it would be total caos to take care of 25 children inside a small classroom with a grave desease running totally out of control. I keep working at home and creating videos and activities to send my students every week, and I'm worried about them everytime, specially the pooer ones. Besides that, I'm not leaving home because both my parents are seniors, so, they can't have any contact with the virus, and I do my best to protect them. During these months, reading webtoons ( and MPL is my favorite by far) creating fanart illustrations is being my main therapy to endure this crazy year, and reading the story developing in a sensitive, beautiful, creative way, I could't imagine what you've had to face for all these months! I hope things get better and better from now on, for you and all of us, you deserve a lot of protection and health because you're hepilng a lot of people to keep sane during crazy hard times... Sending good vibes and love for you! <3

Nickie Eckhart

I get eczema flare ups too. I had it really bad once on my hands and feet. It was terrible. My mom is in the ICU right now. She had a heart attack Tuesday. She was out of ICU for a few hours, had another blockage, and was placed back in ICU. The doctors say her heart and lungs look good but she is on kidney dialysis too. I am hoping and praying she comes home soon. My sister is pregnant and due in November. My mom wanted a grandchild so much she has that to fight for. I am excited to finally be an aunt.

Abs

Love and respect. I'm glad things are looking better. I hope you continue to recover physically, mentally and emotionally. Love the shout out to your hubby! I'm glad you have someone who cares so much for you.

Mari

Even more respect lily. Like I know we all joke around like "ugh man gotta wait another week, here's my coin take them" but you really are putting the mobility and functionality of your hands on the line! Can i hug you? Like i need to hug you cuz that just made my heart hurt on a whole other level man. You never complain you just tag along with the shenanigans we throw out there. I hope life settles down real soon. Stay easy 💕💕💕

A. Paz Díaz

You and your work are absolutely amazing for enduring difficult times. I hope only good things happen from now on, and the bad ones, let’s hope are small and u have all the safe space and support u need. Thank you for always being so great and posting such beautiful content for us, we really do appreciate it. Best best best energies for u and ur family. Ps. Only if you’d like, you could post a pic of ur cats (I love cats 🐈). 💖♥️💖♥️💖

Merissa M

I’m so sorry you have to deal with that :( thank you for keeping up with everything. It’s amazing what you do and what you bring to your followers. Hope you’re feeling better!!

Olivia Cheney

Aw I appreciate everything you do for all of us and knowing how hard you've struggled and persevered just makes us love you more! Also maybe a weird side note but, YOU HAVE SUCH BEAUTIFUL HANDS! Your fingers are so long and slender and your palms are so dainty 🤗♥️

Sammi Landi

So happy you are doing better!!!! Eczema is a real bitch. Glad to hear you are doing better physically, and mentally as well. Mr. Lily sounds like a wonderful hubby. Sending you lots of love ❤️❤️❤️

Anya

stay healthy my friend. Your art brings lots of us happiness and stress release. 😁🖐👍

Roothenium

This definitely struck a chord with me as I recently came to the realization of how my job has been impacting my health. Thanks for sharing and reminding us the importance of self care. Glad you are almost back to "normal". We'd all be devastated without our weekly Tora/Bobby time if you were to be out of commission. Please take care and hope your new arrangement will serve you well.

Brieanna

🥺 my favorite artist ❤️ I’m sorry you suffer like this

I Harris

Take care of yourself first. You have a large supporting community that appreciates all your hard work and dedication...your work does bring joy and also stress reliever 👍to the hundreds of us that enjoy your Art!

Lola

Always worried about you, darling. ♥️ thinking of you and praying for you a little harder this week. 😘

Megan

Glad to hear you’re doing better and things are moving towards an upward swing!

Myruhhz

Hi Lily, thank you for sharing. As someone who suffers from psoriasis, which has very similar effects on my skin, I really understand and I am sending you a big hug. As a teacher, it’s been a rough week going back to work, my anxiety has been hard to manage, and on top of everything my dog, my best friend of 13 years passed away. I just want you to know, that your comic is something that I always look forward to, even in my darkest of weeks. I wish I could give you a big hug. We are so lucky to have you. Take care of yourself. Your health and well-being should always be #1. The sun will rise again and we will try again 💛

mabarigroomer88

I’m glad things are falling into place for you. I groom dogs for a living and I have had coworkers with severe skin issues similar to what you described that got worse from washing dogs all day. I’m glad you took care of yourself instead of ignoring the condition (I have had coworkers do that and they got so much worse) I love hearing good news and real life stuff. It makes you all the more relateable.

stacy Hanssen

I’m glad you are healing and feeling better mentally in your workspace and physically with your hands. I hope your mortgage loan and contract negotiations go very favorably for you. Thank you for the work you do. Art really helps everyone through life and your comic is helping me through a lot of isolation. I really enjoy your work and appreciate your effort. Take care of yourself!

xcokoh

Thanks for sharing a piece of your life with us. I appreciate that you choose to share something so intimate with us patrons even when you don't have to. I hope the legal negotiations go swimmingly; and that your acupuncture/TCM treatments help to really get to the root of your condition in the long term. I don't know if this applies, but I have severe eczema and using red light therapy helps reduce inflammation! Lots of love xo

Mykala Kearney

Lily I can cry happy tears that you have Mr Lily in your life helping and supporting you with everything he can. Im sorry you are dealing with this and im currently in a similar situation right now where my husband also has to do daily easy things for me that I can't do right now. This was definitely an emotional read and I wish I could send you flowers because you are so strong and amazing. Love you Lily. I hope the rest of 2020 goes a little easier on you. Im excited you're renegotiating your contact too!!! You get them Lily! Lawyers do a damn good job!

Hopey V

Oh Lily dearest love, I'm so sorry you struggle with this. How difficult for you. Thank you for opening your life up to us. I'm so glad you have Mr. Lily to lean on and to help you through these difficult times. I'm again so sorry you're dealing with so much right now. I'm sending you all the love and strength and hugs and support I can across the miles. Covid has messed with so many of us along with all the other regular life stressors. We're putting our house up for sale this weekend and looking for a new one so I get how applying for a mortgage loan can be insanely stressful! I hope everything slowly calms down for you and that your hands stay healthy and pain outbreak free. All my love. Hopey

Harveybirdman

I hate all of this for you and I am so sorry about everything that has happened over the last few months but it is kind of nice to actually know someone else out there has dishydrotic eczema because nobody knows what the hell it is and people look at my hands like I have some kind of contagious flesh eating bacteria when I'm having a flare up.

Danielle Houston

Get better soon. Maintain your health, happiness, and peace. I hope you heal soon. Best wishes!

Adela Gutierrez

Omg you are so strong! Thank you for providing us this comic despite all that you are going through! We appreciate you so much but please PLEASE focus on your health first! That's the most important thing! Glad good things are coming your way because you deserve it! Hope they continue to come!

Paula D

Sending you so much love and in awe of you holding it together/kicking serious ass! ❤️

Christobear

Wishing you health, and wellness through the rest of 2020 and beyond. Thank you for all your hard work. If we go without an update occasionally, we'll all survive. Get well, rockstar! We love you too. :)

Christobear

(or more than occasionally)

Gabby Hamilton

You’re amazing and I love the stories you bring to life! Hope you continue to get better!

Kathleen

Thank you so much for sharing your struggles! Just sharing all of this had to be so tough, I can’t imagine the pain you’ve been in. So glad you are starting to feel better and the Mr Lily has been such a great support! Thanks for your art and community 😀 sending good thoughts your way!

Katie80

I can't believe you're going through all that and still produce so much beautiful content! I respect your work ethic! I'll be thinking of you. Be well!

Jessica Arthur

I hope things get better for you from here on out. I know that stress can really negatively affect eczema! I'm sure you've looked into many options but I know my mother made lotions for my step father with essential oils (non damaging ones). I wish the best for you!

Aimee

“Mr Lily” 🤣 In all seriousness, I’m so glad you’re doing better!! Hope everything is on the up and up for you now ❤️

Jasmine C. Barles

I have eczema also but just not that type of eczema, and seeing how the pics are showing it's on the fingers, I can feel the pain (though the eczema on my fingers and feet are probably not at the level of this type of eczema, I still find them painful -especially on the fingers). I do wish you all the best in regards to your health and applaud you for all the hard work and dedication you have put into your art, even while going through obstacles. Please do take your time when needed because your health will always be priority. Anyways, thank you for sharing and trusting us with this personal info.

AltRaflo

Shout out to Mr Lily !! We stan a supportive hubby ✨ Your are amazing, and really I know how eczema can be stressful, especially during a pandemic. You’ve been through a lot, you can be proud of yourself as we are ! We are proud that you feel like you can talk to us about your struggles 🤍🤍

Michelle N.

I'm so sorry to hear all the things you've been going through. Mental health is so important and I'm glad you're doing better. Coincidentally, your post enlightened me to the fact that my husband and I have been experiencing occasional bouts of dyshidrotic eczema over the past few years! I had eczema as a kid, but I never had it like this. And my husband never had eczema, so it was weird he got it around the same time I did. But I just treated it like any other eczema and we got it under control, though we get occasional minor flare-ups. I understand how itchy and painful it can get. It really sucks! Glad you're doing better with that now.

Aja

I’ve just found your beautiful content a few weeks ago and I appreciate everything that you create and give to your readers and patrons. Thank you so much for being able to share such a vulnerable part of your life and I hope you are healing well and staying safe. Please take care of yourself and sending lots of good wishes for you!

Dyane Rodriguez

Thank you for sharing.. I love your WEBTOON but also remember that you come first too.. take good care of yourself.

Michelle Tamporello

I hope things continue to get better for you! You are an amazing artist !

Hannah D

I have dishydrosis too. It’s absolute hell. I’m so glad you got it cleared up! ❤️

LauraPianoHands

Lily your Dyshidrotic Eczema sounds m i s e r a b l e. Especially since you make art! So glad your flareup wasn't too bad this time around, and so glad it's all cleared up now! Love the update, thank you so much for sharing so much of yourself with us! My business took a hit back in March with COVID, but then it was fairly steady for a few months, but recently it took another big hit. I will probably have to put a halt on my Patreon subscription (*sob*), but when I can afford it again, I will definitely sign back up again! You are amazing and I love your art and stories. Here's hoping you won't have anymore flareups! Take care of your sweet self!

Kim WangSu

Good to know you’re doing okay sis! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Cynthia Millie

I'm glad you're doing much better. It's always scary when dealing with certain situations and when there is so much uncertainty. I will say this though, Best Buy has some of the best protection plans and Walmarts looks promising (I only say that about Walmart because my mum just recently bought an AC from there for such a great price, especially for 25,000 BTU and a 4 yr protection plan for like 80 something bucks.) Blessings to you and hubby.

Anya

F U C K eczema 😩 good to hear you’re recovering from your flare-up!

Aditi

What kind of TCM do you use? I have really bad eczema and I was prescribed a steroid cream but I would prefer to not have to use especially with the side effects

KaitlynA

Oh my goodness, Lily! Your poor little hands! I am glad things are better for you all around now! COVID seems to have a way of bringing everyone stress levels up to a breaking point! My sister-in-law recently started seeing a mental health counselor because her anxiety reached unmanageable levels and now she is feeling so much better! Good luck on buying a house!!

Bunny

aww so sorry you’ve been going through so much!! but i’m glad you’ve been able to work some things out. always prioritize your mental and emotional health (which i know can be difficult) but just keep enjoying yourself cause that’s what life is all about :)

Rachel Snodgrass

Oh ouch that looks painful😥 I’m glad it’s gotten better, you’re a strong person!

Jessa Belle

Ohhh gosh big ouches!!! Glad it is on the mend. We all appreciate your art and dedication!!! Here is to a peaceful rest of 2020 .. let's hope this year is done with is crud

Megatron

Wow Lilydusk Wow. You have been through some shit. All that and satisfying our thirst to see Tora every Friday. You are a strong lady. Mad props to your hubby. Thank you for pushing through your pain and anxiety and stress to keep MPL afloat. We'll all stand by you and encourage you to let your body heal and to the take time to heal. Forever a fan ~M. .....PS eczema runs in my family and my boyfriends family. Not exactly your type of eczema. My boyfriend is allergic to cold weather. He breaks out in itchy hives when exposed. So he carries a jacket with him always even in the summer. It's really kind of a sick joke...he is Alaskan Native. ❤

cloudyunz

Just wanted to thank you for coming up with such great work despite going through all these! I am so glad that I stumbled upon Midnight Poppy Land on webtoons and have never looked back since!! Praying that everything’s more settled for you now and no more health scares!!!

HappyCamper

BLess you, Dear. Artistry is a real job with a real health & time commitment, so you get that new contract and house & GET PAID, Mama! 💰💰💰💰💰

L C

I’m sorry you had to go through all that I hope that all the crappy shit that has happened this year stays in 2020 and we all have a more positive 2021.

KaiyaValentine

Whatever you do girl, take care of yourself first , We all get it ! :) and I'm glad to hear that you are feeling better ! Take care of yourself <3

Adriana Murillo

It is Ok to take time for yourself Lilydusk. Your work is just awesome. I'll wait as much as I have to to enjoy it.

Ashley

Ouch hun, that looks painful! Glad to hear it's getting better for you. Hang in there! ❤

Brooke Babin

Lily, thank you so much for sharing your struggles as you are human and full of so much love and grace. I've been contemplating writing to you about this for a while as I wanted to add in some unsolicited medical advice and share my story with you. I struggled with eczema as well all my life, I had terrible flare-ups every time I moved states, on my hands, feet, and chin. As a young adult, I used steroid creams and I was fortunate after a few months it would go away. Last year I moved to a new state and my eczema flared up so badly on my face nothing worked, steroid creams, lotions, expensive face products. I spent around a grand trying to remedy myself. This summer I started nurse practitioner school and we were taught about the human biome, the bacteria that live in our gut, and how it controls our immune system and also affects mental health and the health of our skin. I revamped my idea about skin conditions as it's our bodies way of telling us something isn't right, our immunity is suffering. Which led to my research in alternative and naturopathic medicines, I am so glad you are doing acupuncture by the way, so proud of you. Eczema is caused by many factors such as environment, pollution and stress... ect. I did a probiotic cleanse with active live probiotics in kefir and sauerkraut. I started drinking a glass of goat kefir in the morning, and a few bites of raw sauerkraut with every meal throughout the day and ended my day with another glass of goat milk kefir. All the strains of lactobacillus live in our gut and vagina, which I also suffered from monthly yeast infections. I felt super sick for the first week and had terrible gas, this is called detox or herxheimer syndrome as the yeast and bad bacteria die off they leave toxins. I also combined this probiotic cleanse with 500mg CBD lotion and rubbed it on my skin twice a day. CBD is amazing for the skin and inflammation as it blocks the receptors and calms the skin, I won't get into the biochemistry of it, but my skin started to clear up in only 2 weeks. I still buy kefir now that my skin is clear and blemish-free, I drink some about every other day and I've never had more energy, feel great, and overcome viruses much faster now. The reason I wanted to share this with you is because I adore you Lily and want you to feel the best you can, and also want the best for you and your heart of gold. Your art inspires me so much, I'm getting a poppy flower tattoo this week. I'm so glad you are doing better.

Shyre Marama

Glad to hear its getting better x thank you for sharing I hope you and your loved ones are staying safe x

Michelle Le

I empathize with your pain and struggles. You are an absolutely brilliant artist and reading about your personal health has really opened up the humbling human side that it so easy to forget when I read your comics and get lost in the spectacular art. I hope the future brings many more pain free and better days to minimize the memory of this recent flare up. Thank you for sharing and I hope you are doing well!

A_Fan

Wow thank you for including us in your personal life. Just wanted to randomly say that the eczema looks like honey on your palms. Too bad it's not as a wonderful feeling 😖 But it's good that you have such a supportive hubby that supports you so much❤ he def has at least one fan. I'm absolutely in love with your art and am in awe that you have been doing so much even while in pain. I am thrilled to be one of your Patreons❤🌹

Jennie

sending you the most love and hugs!! ❤❤❤

Felicia Gomez

Hey, simply put, you’re the best. I appreciate you sharing. I don’t know what it’s like to have eczema but your description helped me sympathize with you and others. Also, thank you for taking steps to take care of your mental health. It’s hard to be balanced but you are taking proactive steps! Congrats to the mortgage approval! I hope all goes well with the contract. AAAND...fuck you computer! ❤️

Wolfgirl

All the hugs, Lily!

Tiffanyyyyy B

Omg you poor thing! Thanks so much for sharing! You're so brave to do that! 💞💕

Staci

❤❤❤❤ thank you for sacrifices you make to share your amazing art with us

Raquel Vasquez

I hope that you feel better I wish you good health and positive vibes! Thank you for all that you do!

Snows

I'm so sorry you get that, it happens to me too and I know it can be terrible. I've had atopic dermatitis all my life and it got to my hands as a dyshidrotic eczema, with flare-ups everytime my anxiety peaks. I've tried all hand creams there are and now I'm using one for radiotherapy patients that WORKS WONDERS (radiotherapy scraps almost all protective barriers of the skin so they are specially designed to restore it). Anyway I hope this tip helps, it can get to a point where you don't know what else is left to try and it's so discouraging... I'm here if you want to talk about it or exchange some tips!

gookumaxxi

I’m sorry for reading it late... but I just wanted to say that I’ve never had this kind of direct communication with an artist that I really admire, and because it’s a personal matter I feel very close to you. I appreciate this kind of relationship you build with us and for sharing it too. You went through all those hardships, and I’m glad both your physical and mental health are healed/fine now! 🙏🏽🙏🏽 I hope 2020 (and Apple) don’t trouble you even more and you can just continue doing what you love. And that you and Mr. Lily stay safe! 🙏🏽🙏🏽

Praying for your all around health! Glad to hear your hands are better! These toons are a treasure and i look forward to my notifications every week that you have updated! Defiantly take care of yourself too though! We love our crack but our dealer means more to us!

I SWEAR I DONT HAVE A HAND FETISH. BUTTTTTT. YOU HAVE SUCH BEAUTIFUL HANDS. LIKE the fingers so long and elegant and the oblong palm like a delicate pianist. Sooooo pretty. Sorry if I sounded like a major weirdo Rn bro. Also hoping your year and all your endeavors turn out just the way you hoped they would!

QueenLillith

I'm sorry you've had to deal with such a painful skin disorder. I have mild eczema on my scalp and that is uncomfortable enough. I can't imagine how miserable you've been during your flare-ups. I love your work and I'm grateful your willing to share it with the world! Keep healthy and safe. We'll all wait for Poppy and Tora as long as we have to. On that note, if it ever becomes possible to order a personal Tora by mail, please, put me on this list! 😆😍🥰

Geez! Well take care of your health first and foremost. I will continue to support you no matter what ❤️ I have never seen a flair up as impressive as yours in my whole career. Congratulations on the house! That is super exciting and I can’t wait to hear an update. But NO stressing Lily! That will only make your flair ups worse. I’m only getting onto you (in a good way) with the love and compassion I give my patients! ☺️ I know it’s easier said than done but it sounds like you have had it rough girly. Don’t forget to smell the roses and blow out the candles when you start to feel stressed.😊 it broke my heart to see your hands like that.

Lolo

Wow, I cannot believe you were going through all that and still made regular updates. So insanely impressive but I hope you can take a break when you need to!! ♡♡

Thank you for sharing what’s been going on in your life. I hope your health stays stable, and that the eczema doesn’t give you too many problems before vaccine day. ❤️ I get eczema on my hands as well, although it isn’t as severe as yours and stays on the backs of my hands, in between my fingers, and on my knuckles. I can’t imagine having to deal with it without the use of steroid cream. I know how painful it can be, and I’m glad you’ve mostly healed. Take care. 😊

Hi Lily, thank you for sharing such personal things with us. I really felt like I got to know you better and although I absolutely LOVE your work, I can really really appreciate all the work that goes into it (it's not like I didn't know before, I hope you get what i mean T.T). I'm so sorry all of the stress this has caused you and thank you for doing so much to bring us this amazing story, it genuinely makes my week and gives me something to look forward to every single week! As for the skin flare up, that looks so painful and I'm sorry you had to deal with that, but thank you so much for sharing and I am glad you have nob-steriod treatments available! I have psoriasis which also itches a lot and causes pain. Its all over my scalp so you can see it on my forehead and into my hairline. It's quite severe in my ears and has recently spread to my eyebrows, cheeks, nose and my temples. You're supposed to keep stress on the low to avoid flare ups but it really causes me a lot of stress! 😭😭 luckily through a healthy diet and a better lifestyle, the flare ups aren't too bad (except for my ears sadly) and I have learnt to accept and love myself despite my skin misbehaving XD I therefore really appreciate you sharing your story and photos, I could really really relate to it and seeing you still being extremely successful as an artist despite your struggle is so inspiring to me, so thank you once again 💜💜 Apologies for how long this is!! You might never see it anyways, you are busy enough! ❤❤❤❤❤❤🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Thanks for sharing! I've got eczema on my hands too and went cold turkey on steroid creams a few years ago because I felt it just made it worse and spread even more. So I totally feel your pain with eczema. I'm so glad to hear that it's healing nicely :) Stay safe and take care~

Laurel

This is very late but thank you for sharing these things with us. You work very hard so please please please to everyone in the WEBTOON comics comments, please do not tell Lillydusk to hurry with the updates. These are her HANDS that make MLP for her dreams to come true. Please don’t forget that.

Sasasqueaking

I really appreciate you sharing and being so real with us. It’s a brave move and I truly thank you for that. I’m so sorry you have to deal with that pain and discomfort on your hands! I have issues with my left thumb that cause cracking and so seeing your whole hand like that I really feel for you. For the anxiety and stress as well. Do whatever you need to do to keep your mental and physical health good! We appreciate all you do!!

Seazar

Thank you for sharing. I’m so sorry you are going through all of this. Not being able to use your hands without pain must be so difficult and hindering. It’s amazing that you are still pushing through to create MPL which we all adore so much. I think everyone here understands that you should put yourself first though! Whether that means shorter episodes or a break it doesn’t matter. Health goes first ♥️♥️☺️

Ann Yutuc

Thanks for sharing! I also suffer from eczema on the hands! I’m from Alaska, born and raised, and it’s very common to get eczema up. Put yourself first and take care! ❣️ also your art is amazing! I also look forward to the updates ❤️🙏

YOU are the straight up boss, Lily! I've been on medical leave from my job since March (non-COVID, thank the gods), and it is such a stressful thing to have a medical condition impact your life so much. It sounds like you're on the upswing, which is great! And thank goodness for man-angels like Mr. Lily! Hope all goes well with your new contract, and I hope the rest of your 2020 continues to improve! Thank you for all you give us!! 😘💜💚💜💚

Kali Pettersen

Are you fully aware that you are a Goddess Divine? Thank you for the update! I am so sorry you have had to go through all this pain, but hallelujah to healing! I am sending you all my love and support!

Bambi Granato

I'm so sorry you are suffering this. As a family with several eczema sufferers (although none of us have it bad!), I know it sucks. Much love for you and best wishes on remaining pain free in the future.

Hi Lily, I hope you get to read this message. Have you tried the Wim Hof breathing method? Here is a link to his YouTube video as a taster session: https://youtu.be/0BNejY1e9ik. His methods are known for calming down many things, depression and autoimmune conditions is just a couple of them and his methods have been scientifically proven too.

Don't give up please but surely take a rest! I also do have eczema since 2012 but now was just excessive dryness and light itchiness. I hope you'll get better soon

SteamDragons

My goodness you've been through a lot! I wanted to thank you for all the beautiful art you create it brings me a lot of joy on my most stressful days. I hope that you are getting the rest you need and taking mental breaks as often as needed for your health.

Lily, You are the first Patreon I subscribe to. I’m a big fan of your work on WebToon. Anyway, I hope you feel better and all is well to you and your family. Take a break and don’t stress, I know it’s easier said than done but please take care of yourself. I love your work so much, you are a great storyteller and an awesome artist! Keep up the good work, ma’am! 💕🍓🐯

Alyssa Perrone

I am so sorry to hear about your hands! I also have eczema on my hands, though no where near that badly, so I understand what you're going through. Thank you so much for producing everything you do for us despite this! 💕💕💕

Alexandria

Thank you so much for all the work that you do! I’m new here on Patreon but I love the WEBTOONs that you have created! My hubby has eczema and psoriasis all over his body, and I help take care of him when he has his flare ups. Please take care and know that we all love you here!

Tamara

Thank you for all the work and sharing your state of vulnerability with your eczema flare up!! I also have eczema all on my hands, all seasons throughout the year lol. So I definitely understand what you go through.

Jennifer Zaayer

Holy crap, I have that same skin condition! It took three different doctors and so many types of medicine to figure out what it was. Stress was a key trigger, so I looked like a GD zombie all through law school. The hand washing and sanitizer because of COVID had me flaring up all summer, luckily my hands have calmed down. My heart goes out to you, with you relying on your hands so much. I remember the pain and agony when my hands looked like that. Please stay well and I’m so happy you found a treatment that worked.

Spooky Platypus

OMG I CANNOT BELIEVE SOMEONE ELSE SUFFERS FROM THIS! Have you tried any medications? I’ve been on Humira and it’s 100000% life changing. I’ve had zero flares for four years. I really wish you the best. It’s such an agonizing condition.
