Alright.... So there’s a lot to unpack here. But I’d like to say this, because, it honestly means a lot to me. I truly was wondering how long it would take before Poppy confirmed Quincey and Tora being mafia guys. I was hoping it wouldn’t take long, and we wouldn’t have some long, drawn out ordeal, because Poppy is smart. She sees things other people don’t. I wanted her to not be afraid. I am so so so thankful she just confronted both of them without hesitation once she put the pieces together for herself. I’m glad she didn’t beat around the bush. I am not sorry. 2. “Secret office tryst… Office supply closet” had me literally roaring with laughter 🤣 I feel like every moment of Quincey’s life is trained on “how can I make this into a smutty situation” and I relate so hard. Keep on keeping on, my sweet, perverted friend. So glad to see this scenario here! 3. The 360 in Tora’s attitude toward the party was adorable AF. I could practically hear the record scratch as he went from “Party? Fucking hell no. In no universe. I’d rather die.” to “Oh… with Poppy? Well… I guess if it can’t be helped?” *sticks hands in pockets, kicks sand, and smiles shyly thinking no one can see… but everyone clearly does* AND POPPY’S FLOWERS. SO CUTE. CAN’T TAKE IT. 4. Jacob being adopted into the herd is making me smile so hard. Their little boy group is growing and I’m getting all the snarky warm and fuzzies. It’s a complicated emotion. I’m okay with it. And LOL at Tora thinking he looks good in his BO uniform. He’s not wrong. And the contrast of them with Erdene’s group chat of Poppy love? Such an adorable parallel. SO many friendships. Both of them snarky and sassy but fiercely guided by love. This is true friendship. And I live for it. No, it’s not perfect, no relationship is, but they are close to it, and still goals. 5. Drunk girls night is ALSO goals. Also…Poppy knew back then that she needed to dump Julri and I’m glad. It’s hard to get out but she was aware of it, and that’s half the battle. Truth telling, secret sharing, drunk off their asses, and still adorable. You go be that party princess Poppy. These girls will be so ready to help. (also very happy seeing this kind of supportive female relationship. I find I come out of my shell so much being around rowdy, sexually-charged, super loving girls like this, and I love seeing it here.) 6. Project PPC? Pop Poppy’s Cherry? That….that can’t be right…? CAN IT? The icon IS cherries. I’m dying. Either way Dene is 100% Larosa/Patty here. I read all of Erdene’s texts in Patty’s voice and I’m loving it. 7. Okay… literally from here until the end I was freaking out. FREAKING OUT. “Filler” MY ASS. This is some serious plot movement. Mr. Lam is the overarching deity guiding this story and he’s amazing and I love his use as a catalyst to so many things. Everything is coming together thanks to him and Poppy’s powers of observation. I love that she puts all this together, and while she isn’t naive enough to dismiss Tora’s possible involvement in something nefarious, she’s quick to put it all together without jumping to conclusions, hoping for the best the whole time. QUEEN. 8. And when she gets the confirmation of her suspicions, she addresses the two hulking bone heads (who are actually terrifying mobsters so - standing ovation for brass balls, lady 👏 👏 👏) like a grown ass adult. No drama (well… not more than there already is in this situation) and asks them straight out, what in all hell they were thinking. 9. Tora’s gone into full deflection, defensive mode with “I tried, but did ya listen?” and curling up like a little armadillo. Okay there big lug. Back it up... But Poppy’s not having it and I am HERE FOR IT. I feel bad he’s upset, sure, and I don’t envy his situation after he’s been trying so hard to keep her safe, but man up and have the convo now. She’s being an adult about it, and has reasonable questions. Put on those scary mafia big boy pants and face it. She works hard and deserves respect and even better? She demands it of them. She needs to make a living and she’s giving it her all. And she wants these two little boys to man up and face her and give her the answers she’s entitled to. 10 Anddd those search results… “In power since the late 18th century” and “bestowed the title of Baron by one of the last monarchs of Narin, King Tsagaan, who was THROWN INTO EXILE…” OKAY. First off, loving this long line of “aan” naming traditions, second EXILE. I see you, sneaky AB connection coming into further light. Is this tin foiling? Is this fact? IDK but I feel good about this. And I see why Vincent doesn’t yet understand the deeper power of the sleeping giant he’s been using as a guard dog. DAMN LADY. JUST DAMN. Vinny, mah boy, you sexy, vile, unfortunately attractive, but totally sick in the head, but also still a daddy… but TOTALLY fucked-up, hot piece of ass… Your power is BECAUSE of this “dog’s” family. I figured it would be cool, sure, but if there were any hints, I totally missed them… Quincey’s not only the son of a Mafia don, but an heir twice over. This is a freaking Empire he’s been born into. This family does nothing by halves, and poor little Quinceton has a LOT on his plate. Thank god he has Tora… but now little Poppy is in the thick of it. OJNIBVYTCTRXTRCVKJNMOINUYVYTCY so much information, I’m so happy 😭 Of course I am here for the romance. But this storyline is so good that it consumes me. If someone had live watched me read this chapter, they would have thought I was a mad woman. And with the spontaneous out loud cackles, the gasps, the squinting, and the rapid scrolling, I couldn’t even blame their judgement. Well. Fucking. Done. I’m on the edge of my seat yet again.

I see a lot of comments saying Quincey and Poppy have the same mom. I’ll be surprised if they’re not related, but I don’t think they’re siblings. Maybe cousins? We can safely assume Quincey is younger than Tora, but older than Poppy. Having their ages be so close makes it unlikely that they have the same mother. I don’t see Vincent’s wife leaving him and starting a whole new family somewhere else as something that he would just “allow.” Even if she was powerful in her own right, we know Vincent cares about keeping up appearances and he would have retaliated over that. It crossed my mind that maybe he did, and that’s why Poppy’s mom is gone (we don’t KNOW that she’s still alive), but she was in Poppy’s life at least until she started school and that seems like too long for Vincent to wait for his revenge. Needless to say, I’m EXTREMELY interested in finding out more about Quincey’s mom and how the Balthumans relate to Poppy’s and Tora’s families. Tora saying that line to Quincey about how Erdene is telling Poppy to stay away from him because he's a douchebag and Poppy doesn't want to hurt Erdene's feeling's by saying she's wrong, how much has Tora confided in Quincey about his and Poppy's relationship? Erdene backing off once Poppy tells her Tora isn't toxic. When I saw the face for "introverts worst nightmare," I felt that in my bones 😂. Poor guy. Fuck no I won't party. Shared party? even worse. Oh, shared with Poppy. She really wants to? I could party. There was an emphasis on Quincey wanting to give them a "smashing" good joint birthday party since it's Poppy's 21. Foreshadowing to a different kind of smashing 😏 party? It really concerns me that Poppy can't break up with Julri for good. He must always weasel his way back. I know we've probably not seen the last of him. I can't wait for Poppy to tell him off now that she's had a glimpse of what an emotionally healthy relationship should be. When Poppy took them outside to scold them, it's the first time Tora hasn't been able to meet her eyes. You can just feel his discomfort in all of it, every after she says sit up and face me, he's studying his shoes. He's always been honest about being a thug, but a direct conversation about being involved in the mafia with Poppy is probably the last thing he wants. Quincey also looks ashamed. No big theories because I'm always wrong, but I don't see Poppy and Quincey as half siblings, possible cousins, maybe? We don't know anything about his mom and her family yet. I would love to see the shopping spree the four of them have, Jacob oscillating between playful conversation with Quincey and Gyu and pooping his pants from Tora's glares. Tora gives Poppy a ride home from work so that they can talk, or not talk.

I felt like I was getting an extra treat this week with all the little jokes (Tora being a mind reader, introvert nightmare, boys shopping trip, Poppy’s inner party princess, the “wolves” getting put in their place by the feisty hamster). Ok, I really appreciate Poppy’s cold stare when Quincy tried to joke and dismiss her concerns about safety and being associated with him. Sometimes people in power and wealth don’t understand the effects of what they deem playful pass times (Quincy trying to be a match maker), and how it can actually be huge life altering situations for people they draw into their meddling. Especially if those people have less power, or money. I’m glad she didn’t let him laugh the question or situation off!

Am I the only one that liked the shoes?! Maybe because they remind me of a pair of Minnetonkas I used to have! Anyway, I thought the whole outfit was unTora-like and I loved to see what he chose to wear when he was “off-duty” and wanted to dress to impress, but appear cool and casual. Now to this episode. I so want to shopping montage, especially now that Gyu and Jacob are joining, and I REALLY want the party episode, because so many good things can happen there. However, I’m a little afraid Poppy will want to cancel the whole thing now that the truth has been confirmed. She has constantly been going back and forth in her mind about if Tora is involved in something extremely dangerous and what she should do if he is. Like in episode 34 on the roof when she is about to say she shouldn’t be around him. I think she will struggle with what to do with the confirmed information and maybe try to cancel the party. Hopefully our Quincey can convince her that nothing will happen, and hopefully he is smart enough not to have it on Ares Street and invite two full clans...

Words cannot describe how much I love this episode. It was so funny, number one. Cutting back and forth between those two conversations happening simultaneously was like watching a TV show! These characters are so REAL. I love the fact that Tora could immediately tell what Poppy and Erdene were talking about 😂 I love everything about Quincey, but I freaking DIED at him pulling out his notebook and writing about a secret office tryst. Calling Gyu to come shopping with them? Quincey has coupons?? Genius! Jacob wanting to tag along? Hilarious. Tora’s facial expressions were so great. I love Tora and Quincey together as BFFs 😂 Of course, there was plot intrigue 👀 But also, Tora being rightfully scared of Poppy telling them she needed to speak to them outside, and then Poppy sitting them down and scolding them was amazing. I think everyone did a great job summarizing the episode so I won’t do that. But instead I want to talk about some of my favorite things! 1. Tora getting offended at the idea of Poppy pretending not to know him. We know Poppy did it show Erdene that he’s not a bad guy, but I wonder if Tora is worried that she’d actually do that to him, or be ashamed of him in some way. 2. Quincey taking notes for future novels I imagine 😉 Lets see Tora beta read that one! Lily.. SG perhaps 😏 3. Boys shopping day! I would so love to see the 4 guys shopping and gossiping about Tora and Poppy’s new relationship! I need Tora to wear a button down with the first few buttons undone or a deep v neck. 🥵 Perhaps we can get a girls shopping day with Erdene and Pops too!! 4. Poppy whipping both of these dangerous men into their place! Our girl demanded that they take her seriously and face her while she’s speaking. Yes queen! Okay those are my top things but in all honesty, I loved every last panel. 😊

So all the theories are out there, unpacked and I’ve loved reading through everyone’s analysis here on Patreon(I don’t follow threads anywhere else because there are only so many rabbit holes I have time to dive into!). My brain, like everyone else’s is in overdrive but I feel like so much has been touched on in above comments that it’s helped me organize my own thoughts and theories. 1. 😍🛍I’m also super excited for a boy’s only shopping day! 2. 🐹🧡I love Poppy’s boss energy to everyone in the office in this episode: respect the hamster and she’ll respect you. 3. 😳🎉Tora’s reaction to a party was priceless. Here’s where it even more complicated for him though and I don’t think anyone mentioned it above(forgive me if you did and I missed it!)... as far as we know, Tora doesn’t drink... so not only is the idea of going to a huge gathering deeply stressful to any socially anxious/awkward introvert but that’s blown up ten fold when you know you’re going to be around people who are drinking. Tora seems to maybe have bad associations with drinking as we saw from Quincey’s comment to the Gudrun’s waitress, paired with the fact that he’s never consumed alcohol in the comic to date. I’ll also add that not everyone gets trashed when they go out but this is going to be a big party at a club and people are already excited(bonus: cute Poppy flowers 🌸!). As we dive more into the episode we find that Poppy’s been looking forward to this kind of outing and we know from the flashback that if she’s at least with people she knows and feels safe around she’s probably going to be drinking at least a little... if not a lot because she’ll be able to unwind and enjoy herself(hopefully! But who knows Lily’s been keeping us in the edge of our seats!). 4. 🥂This thought: Poppy drinking Tora not drinking, has had my mind reeling with the possibilities of how they’re going to interact with each other that night. Will she even drink? Will they have a super open conversation with each other? Will it be memorable(could there be a blackout)? Will someone try to take advantage of anyone else/step in where they aren’t wanted(I’m referencing any character here because there are going to be different circles of friends commingling)? Will things be said that will be hurtful/misinterpreted? Will information spill that will connect some more dots for everyone? Will they both be mentally present and able to have some quality time together? SO MANY THOUGHTS... 🤯 5. 🐹💛🐯Like everyone else I would really enjoy a moment for them to be dressed to the nines, fully enamored with each other and in full flirt mode but we’ll see what Lily has in store for us! I know many people have already said this but I’m absolutely loving the “slow” growth of their relationship, it’s sensible and realistic. They truly respect each other as separate entities while they both know they’re inexplicably drawn to each other. Thank you again Lily for your incredible work into this story and it’s characters, I’m loving your “saggy middle!” You have us all right where you want us as invested readers/professional tin foil hat theorists!💛🐹🐯💛

Love this episode. I did notice a few things about Tora (apologies if this has already been said): 1) Tora referring to her as Shorty. Is he doing this because he’s in public and is trying to be flippant? Or is he being defensive? Knowing that calling her Shorty offended her, why’s he continuing to use it? 2) he calls her presentation stupid: They’ve already reconciled, so why is he backtracking now knowing how his dismissiveness about the presentation hurt her? 3) his posture when they’re outside: very obviously shut down and defensive. He’s feeling a lot of guilt about it all. My hot take - he’s in self protection mode and has a different demeanor with Poppy when they’re in public. I wonder how this will play out at the party. The differences between their two worlds couldn’t be any more different and if Toras behaviour in this episode is anything to go by, there will be missteps. Friggin love how Poppy has so strongly stood up for herself and doesn’t let either of them brush off the issue. Everyone else has said this, but I truly love that this WEBTOON doesn’t lean into the common tropes.
