I was so much confused about that Gil showed Poppy that blank notebook and after nobody was discussing Goliath's notebook's existence anymore, nor Tora or anyone around them. It's just like that notebook "disappeared" from Poppy's bag..? I am 99% certain that granny's being in hospital(which I don't believe btw) has to do something with notebook being in some bad people's hands, and they know about Poppy and Tora.

Honestly I thought I was the only one experiencing technical difficulties today with WEB I had to literally shut my phone off and shut it back on to get it to work, and also it started once my phone was turned back on it was unable to upload or load any content because of internet connect, gave me a button to click I clicked it and all the webtoons I been reading popped back up. But there’s still one problem when I go to log in it won’t let me access it properly. Like totally unexpected!

May check the hospital after that, then wait for Poppy to arrive.

I think Dene knows a bit more about clan life than we might've originally thought, hence why Quincey would read her into the situation, even if he leaving out a lot of the details for her safety too. Uggggh. I was perfectly fine and not freaking out until the missing panels loaded. So... apparently another family is living at what's supposed to be Poppy's address? And Poppy talked about "the mould life" before, but this place looks decidedly posh and not mouldy, so the combination of the two things are confusing Tora, maybe? Also, holy crap he must have burned rubber the entire way if he beat Poppy to Moonbright. Or maybe he didn't beat her and just hasn't found her? Would it even be possible to beat a high-speed train there? Unless of course the train made other stops along the way. Proud of our girl, though. Taking a chance and inviting him up like that. And holy crap, Quincey can lay down the gravitas when he needs to. Is he actually letting them in fully on the mafia connection? I thought for sure they'd be keeping that under wraps for as long as possible. ...Though, to be fair, they probably intended to, and "as long as possible" turned out to have a short shelf life. Strangely enough a lot of people who have less than legal ways of making money (even corrupt politicians and shady business men and mob bosses and drug cartel bosses alike) put assets (like boats and houses and cars) in the names of close women relatives sometimes even children to shield them from being seized by the government. Theory: what if in the database where the collect poppy’s information it’s a possibility she forgot to change her home address or never changed it to her grans current address because she moved to the city and no longer stays with her granny. Which explains her flash back of moon right crescent on the phone. Another theory I have is Quincey could inform them about who Tora and him are and the information they found out about Gil and why it’s important for them to keep poppy safe until they find out a way to deal with Gil. I think another thing I would theorize about this is erdene will tell Quincey where poppy is heading, to the hospital in moonbright, #morningstar pital Tora will call and confirm he could not find her or he actually meet poppy’s old neighbors like mommy gave a hint about in the chap and ask where they moved to, or I’m weighing the possibility Quincey could likely call poppy and tell her Tora’s on his way to find her. That, or he could just text poppy and ask her where she’s head. Idk my mind is everywhere when it comes to theories honestly?! 🤨 Back to the restaurant with Quincey and the gang/ theory is Jacob will become easygoing with the news but it will probably take erdene a while to stomach it all, once finding out, he reaction could be the opposite, but with how worried dene seems I think, she’ll possibly react more criticizing and afraid. However, eventually she’ll come to learn they are just regular individuals trying to live a regular life, but it does cross my mind she could scorn Quincess & Tiger for putting Bobby Hamster in harms way, that worry can change to anger. As for Erdene and poppy’s stagnate dialogue I have a theory the secret she was holding she confirm it with poppy that she probably knew he grandmother was sick, and was ask by her cousins not to tell so it wouldn’t worry her, like when her daddy passed, causing her to move back to moonbright. Or guys you know what it could be Danae and Mirabelle asked Erdene to relay the message they Grandma Wilkes was sick, and out of concern for poppy dene probably didn’t tell knowing her history with her dad and mom. I mean especially if she knows poppy’s granny is the only closest family to paternal guardian she has left Gil probably will be headed to do his dirty work. Idk what that is, shit prolly bury some depts give some names etc etc. anyways that’s my theory for next ep. I'm glad I didn't read this at work. I'm over here ugly crying at the tenderness and intimacy of support and protection. Leave all mafia/ notebook/ gil related things to the side for a moment. I'll come back to that. Let's just deal with the danger of coming into contact with your abuser. Tora is already fully aware of the number Julri did on her. He's seen her rage, he's seen her self doubt, and she admitted herself to the damage to her self esteem. He ran and sped to her to protect her from emotional harm; to make sure she didn't have to face that alone when she's already emotionally vulnerable with whatever is happening with her grandmother. When you add that to the reader's perspective of knowing that she's aware her message asking him to come DIDN'T GO THROUGH?!! Which means he showed up for her without even having to be asked. My God today! When you have been mistreated and made to feel like even mere human decency is asking for the moon, to have someone come in and go ABOVE the call on your behalf? I'm finna start crying again. Can you just imagine how she's going to feel when she sees him? Not only did he come for her, he came immediately and he came CORRECT!!! That man put a whole different persona together to make sure he was able to blend into her world. It's the effort for me!!! And we see her thought life. We see the doubt, the hesitation, the hedging, the uncertainty. And she's giving herself just a little room to hope and trust that Tora's character really is genuine and trustworthy and then he comes through with RECEIPTS!!! She allowed herself to believe he'd come if she'd asked. To have that confirmed? My HEART!!! As someone who has had others try to undermine their self worth, to see someone who has been through similar kinds of trauma be affirmed, validated, and given support with the kind of consistency that allows trust to be rebuilt is really remarkable. I think that's why it made me so emotional. I want someone to show up for me like Tora did for Poppy today. And they don't even have to look like a well balanced breakfast.

I have one theory and im not sure if anyone has mentioned it, but I think Giant Goldfish is a shell and Gil is siphoning that scammed money through it, that felt sort of confirmed when Poppy thought "the figures aren't tabulaing correct" ep 65 (maybe more going out then coming in, also why she needs another job. Hiring younger people that might not really notice all that) not to mention when he thought "so you can pretend your living a meaningful life..." that totally screamed to me that the whole thing was a fake. The growth we see in Poppy is amazing, it's great seeing how he's grown as a character as well. Tora in glasses and all dressed up is the best thing ever thing ever. I think Gil and Julri are somehow working together. Since Gil is out to get Poppy, he might have pulled her ex into it. The notebook probably holds some sort of blackmail material. I mentioned my theory before but with each new episode I'm leaning more heavily towards it... I think the Sugar and Spice series are an AU of what might've had happened had Gil follow through with his plans, meaning: he hired Poppy because he's seen an easy prey; a desperate and naive fresh out of college kid with huge debts to clear (student loans, granny healthcare costs, maybe some remaining medical bills from her father passing out from cancer). It doesn't make any sense that he would give her all of these big responsabilities and job title right away and she's receiving pennies for it.... She seems to be getting paid as an intern but with the job description of a high level employee. Unless... his plan was to use her naivety to bring in investors, sign a lot of papers, appear to have quite a bit of responsibility and autonomy in her work so he can take all the money, scape, and frame her for it (embezzlement, money laundering, fraud - like the character in S&S claimed happened to her)... Poppy was supposed to be his scapegoat but now shit got complicated and he's hella pissed with it. She was supposed to be an easy target and way out for him, but now she brought in mafia peeps... so he either suspects she's a naive dumbass who has no idea what mess she's getting herself and the company entangled with or she's acting with malice and trying to screw them over. He probably found the notebook and with his dirty background he knows what that's all about. Also news travel fast, he probably heard Morrison got absolutely fucked after screwing with QB.

I was just listening to an episode of Story Tinker and was hit with a huge light bulb moment! What if that's Poppy's childhood home, but her dad left it to her in his will? So the property is hers, but she was too young, so Granny "kept" it for her and they just rented it out as like an income property. But she didn't tell Poppy, so she wouldn't feel like she had to stay in Moonbright. Give her a chance at something by going out on her own. It's a bit of a tinfoil hat theory, but it's plausible, right??

WHEW this episode! To start off, Tora racing off immediately to Moonbright and arriving ahead of Poppy (possibly!) is on par romance-wise with any kiss scene. His feelings of care and concern for her are already so deeply ingrained in him after a month of them knowing each other. Care/how to care for another individual has been a recurring theme throughout the entire comic but it really stands out to me in this episode. Everyone connected to Poppy in some way has a particular level of concern for her and care for her wellbeing. Erdene and Jacob worry for Poppy more as their friend rather than just their coworker. Quincey’s worry for Poppy also goes beyond the typical employee-supervisor working relationship, he cares for her as a friend and also does not want to see harm come to the woman that he’s aware his friend has feelings for. And of course, Tora rushing to be by her side and see her through whatever danger is possibly awaiting her (either a precarious emotional situation with Julri and her grandmother’s health) or something more nefarious (i.e. whatever the fuck is Gil doing!!!). I have my first tinfoil theory because of this episode! SO WHAT IF….the scooter left in the bushes back in episode 1 was tied back to Julri and he is being forced by someone unknown (somehow connected to Gil and the notebook) to get Poppy to return to Moonbright? There might be more going on behind-the-scenes of the notebook drama that we haven't seen yet, and Gil seems to have prepared some plan of his own. This of course doesn’t explain the photo of her grandmother so I might be way off LOL and Lily is the master of suspense and surprise. And my final thought…Poppy’s phone being this close to dying and the possible foreshadowing of her not being able to call Tora (or anyone) for help is giving me so much anxiety. Someone please buy her a phone charger. 😫😫😫 As usual, another excellent episode by Lily and team!!! My studies are in art history and the visuals that this comic consistently provides each week are such a treat! ✨💖💕

Thoughts on this episode 😊 1. Jacob is my favourite (I’m so sorry Erdene 😢) - I think some of us wondered why Poppy asked Jacob for help during earlier episodes instead of confiding in Erdene. Erdene is strong, self-confident and a very caring person. She spend 30 minutes pacing with worry, but she didn’t notice someone was repeatedly calling her? What if Poppy had been calling her instead of Quincey….? I really do think Erdene is a great character and I will fight anyone that hurts her, but like all the other characters, she has her flaws. In high stress situations, Erdene seems a little all over the place and immediately goes into mamma bear mode with Poppy. Jacob, on the other hand, seems to be the only one that thinks Poppy is grown ass woman and he reminds everyone of that. Has no one told Poppy that her life is in danger? Does everyone now know but her? Why??? She’s a grown ass woman. It’s probably more dangerous to NOT tell her. Jacob, the voice of reason, is also pretty calm about all this, all things considered. Yes, he did hide under his desk, but he bounced right back! Poor guy has been traumatized in life too… My heart broke for him. But anyway, my main point is that Erdene is a great role model for self-confidence, sex positivity, and general ass-kicking but if I’m looking for an ally to lean on, Jacob would be my pick too. I think Erdene and Quincey need to look past Poppy’s delicate exterior and trust her with her own safety (lol). As Jacob said, Poppy needs to make mistakes to grow (YES JACOB, THANK YOU 🙆🙆🙆) Don’t get me wrong, Jacob is not perfect either. Calling his girlfriend after fall off his chair…. LOL. Both of them are in over their heads, which is evident by the fact they think that Julri is the dangerous one. Oh civilians 😣 This puts away any of my theories that Erdene or Jacob are involved in gangs…. 2. The switch from cold to warm colours? - Going back to Moonbright seems to be a bad thing, judging by Tora and Quincey’s blank stares and the darkness closing in. I’m guessing that they know whoever is targeting Poppy will take action in Moonbright. Once Tora starts for the door, the scene in the office suddenly became warm again. I looked back at previous episodes and I think the office has been cold tones up until that moment. So what changed? Maybe Tora going to moon bright was a turning point and foreshadows that everything will turn out ok? I hope 😅 The sun is setting, but this change wasn’t put there for no reason 😉 3. Poppy told Mr. Lam that she was away for the week, but not Gil. This seems strange to me since Gil is her boss and all. Something is up with their texts, but I can’t put my finger on it. Poppy is usually very communicative: she sent something to Gil over email and chat and also texted him….I can totally relate to overkill communication LOL☺️. Maybe all the creepy vibes he was putting out are telling her to keep quiet about her absence. Smart move, Poppy.😎 4. OMG I DIED FROM CUTENESS PICTURING POPPY AND TORA ON A HIKE. Her text that didn’t deliver is so adorable…. But at the same time, am I the only one that read her text about the forest trails, lots of nature and thought: Yeah, perfect places to bury a body unnoticed. Is it just me? 😰😰😰 Poppy is working on her self-esteem and it shows. I appreciate that she’s not 100% sure about what she’s doing and doubts herself. Growing takes time and self-doubt is a huge part of it. You go, Glen Coco: you talk to that boy and you ask him to go on a hike with you 😍😍😍😍 I also really appreciate the panels of nature along with the dialogue. It underscores how Poppy’s perspective is expanding, flourishing and moving forward. Or maybe someone will attempt to kill her by cutting the train cables or blowing up the bridge…. My mind went dark again… 😩😩😩😩 5. TORA PARKED CORRECTLY. He must be in a serious mood. Properly parallel parking like that. Slap on some glasses and a blazer: totally blends in with the suburban crowd. Or does he? 😏😏😏😏😏 The mom and dad cracked me up. 6. 31 Moonbright Crescent….. I don’t think we’ve seen this house before (it’s not also Julri’s house, I checked episode 1). I’m assuming that its a building with multiple homes because the family came out of there. Unless they were visiting the house to potentially buy it? Or maybe there’s some kind of party? It doesn’t look like they went there to pay their respects to Granny (they look like they are in a good mood….) As always, I’m hooked and looking forward to seeing what happens next!! 😃😃😃

I really hope poppy doesn’t get kidnapped or something because that will be a few episodes so I’ll be anxious but I won’t wait and save coins because this story is too good. Tora will probably panic next episode since it looks like a good chance that where he is isn’t her house. And she has no reception and her phone is about to die and she is thinking to turn it off so Tora won’t be able to reach her and since she is in danger he will probably freak and she won’t be able to reach him either. Girl can handle herself but I know she would think of Tora if shit started to go down. This is one of the few stories that always has me on the edge of my seat. I’m still trying to get my head to stop spinning about this episode, but just some general observations: DAMN, Lily! Good choice with the square glasses. I’m incredibly impressed with Tora’s skills as a chameleon. And I feel like we are seeing new sides of both Tora and Quincey this season. Quincey is much more formidable than we had seen before,. Despite having a squeamish side, he is no pushover, and certainly not clueless or blind to what is happening in the clan worl. And Tora has skills we never knew. He’s sharp and slick, as we know, but now we know he has skills and is able to blend in anywhere. I hang my head in shame to admit this, but for a moment I wasn’t even sure it was him!😅

Ok, let’s take a moment of silence and silent laughter at Jacob getting a door to the face that caused him to end up curled up under his desk! Geez, what a way to open the episode, I was howling! Between our little friend on the floor and the very very impressive duo standing in the doorway, I didn’t know where to look or what to think! “How’s the earthquake comin’ along?” Fucking A, Tora!! Gah, I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time. These one liners will slay me for days. Having them just stop for a moment and poke fun at him in Tora’s case just made me crack up! His grin was everything! Poor Jacob. Hahaha. Ok, serious talk now. Erdene’s anxiety was giving me some shudders too! Having Tora tear out of there no questions asked, the hidden questions in their talk...I was full on ready to panic! Even Quincey looked a little shocked at Jacobs question. (Side note, can we appreciate the gorgeous sunset lighting of this part? It’s stunning!) The build up of whatever was coming was making me squint at the screen, searching for clues. Pft, so Quincey wasn’t suppose to tell them there’s a possibility Poppy’s life is in danger? Dayum! Tora’s gonna have to start trusting in a few more people around Poppy if he wants her safe. I wasn’t expecting it to be laid out so plain and clear like that to the two of them. And once again I am applauding this story-telling for surprising me at every turn and making me appreciate the hard work and depth that’s going into it! *stands up and claps Jacob for a solid 10 minutes!* I Stan a friend like him!! Supporting Poppy, encouraging her to grow from her mistakes, trusting in her to make them on her own and be there regardless. The clapping just got harder the more I re read it because these two are amazing friends to Poppy! They both have their strengths and weaknesses but they balance each other well! We’ve come a long way from bitching about him for ribbing her for her weight and I’m excited to see how their friendship progresses. I mean, look at this man...look at this glorious professor Tora...*fans self* I know we’re in the midst of a heatwave in the UK right now, but eesh! One look at him dressed up like that, with GLASSES and I’m just nothing. My head has emptied of thoughts, it’s just goo now. Sorry, can’t compute. I’m staring along with them! Absolutely jaw to the floor, staring at him. Hello good sir, what do you require of me? I’d go back to school in a heartbeat if I had a professor like that. And I HATED school! Alright, pulling my mind from the gutter now. Appreciating the brilliance of this little girl calling her mum out like that. Haha! Even the babe is getting a glance to see what’s going mummy all flushed! Bloody brilliant. Ok, so I absolutely thought this was a flashback the first few times I read it. Didn’t matter that the lighting was the same as where Poppy and our 3 favourite gossips were. I was like, he’s changed clothes, got a different car and booked it to Moonbright before Poppy despite being at least 40 minutes or so behind her. BUT having read a lot of the different discussions on the Facebook groups (I love them!) I was happy to be wrong and see it with clearer eyes. If anyone is going to break speeding records to get there it’s Tora! And I am all here for it. And it just highlighted how amazing this fandom is, that not once was there a divide between the theories of what was going on in this moment. It was all discussed calmly and not once did it turn negative. That’s one thing I adore about this fandom, the non judgmental, open and welcome atmosphere of it. It’s by far my favourite ever! This was a fantastic suspenseful episode! The lighting was beautiful, some of my most favourite for sure.

The thing that stood out the most to me (besides Tora’s hot professor look and the beautiful slap Julri got) to me is how poppy’s address is changed in the legal system. Like is it because of the notebook, or was it like that before and just has something to do with her family that some people have been theorizing??
