My relationship with my Granny hits home recently. I have been busy working and traveling and such, my granny do anything to get me back in the city because she has separation anxiety ever since my grandfather passed away. Also, she has dementia so it’s dangerous for her to do everything on her own. It’s stressful 24/7 and you know, I can relate to granny and poppy. I love my granny to death but it’s hard for me too. I’m really digging the information reveals in this episode! I got burnt out on theories during the hiatus so getting some concrete information is a breath of fresh air. I’m worried about if Poppy is going to get home safely, but I know Tora’s not about to let her out of his sight for long. The levels of growth in characters from this season is awesome. I feel like season 2 is making it really clear how much I didn’t know about ANYONE in season 1 and I’m delighted by it. I’m so content with the strings that are unraveling here – Poppy’s grandmother has some of her own stuff going on and I like the storyline’s direction of panning back to Moonbright. Ahhh there’s just so much here and so much to chew on as my English major heart likes to say and I am so here for it. Plus it can never be mentioned enough about the art quality. It’s getting better all the time!

What does granny know? I'm so curious! Definitely a lot of plot and I love it! I'm excited to see how Tora and Poppy react when they find each other. The poor man is so worried. It's adorable how she is wanting to make sure she gets into contact with him as well. Gil more than likely has something to do with that address change, seeing how he's targeting Poppy. I wonder and kind of hope that Tora runs into Julri too. Such a great episode and can't wait for more! Definitely looking forward to see how everything comes to head eventually. Will it finally encourage them to speak up about their feelings?

Omg, so much plot. I love plot, but I'm gonna be rolling until Tora finds his Poppy. I was really hoping he'd find her at the hospital or something. 😩 I'm kinda relieved Jacob and Erdene know the truth, though. If nothing else, to better have Poppy's back when shit starts going down. Edit for more thoughts... Okay, if Poppy's last name is Wilkes, and her Granny was her dad's mother, then why does she have a different last name. Did she get married again? Does Poppy have her mother's last name for some reason? I'm so confused. I also have a feeling that Granny is being threatened or blackmailed to get Poppy to move back home. My money is on it being Gil, because as of now nobody else would have that sort of motivation to get her gone. But who swapped her address in the system? Does Gil really have those sorts of connections? My little hamster wheel brain is going to fly off with all this spinning.

Tinfoil hat theory time: If poppy’s mama was in a clan, then granny might know and needs to tell her. The reason why granny might want poppy to stay out of narin city is so poppy doesn’t find her mom by accident or get involved with the clan (which she obvi already is, almost like fate). The reason why the addresses were switched was so that poppy’s mom, who if she is a big part of the clan, can hide her family if they ever become a target/if people are after poppy’s mom they won’t be able to find poppy and the dad (idk if poppy’s mom knows the her baby daddy died). Also what’s neat is that granny’s married name (or what I assume is from the grandpas last name) is fleur meaning flower, which is once again obvi a theme within the story (poppylan, rose clan, fleur, etc.) so might be even more implying that poppy’s family is more part of a clan business than just the mama. Bruhhh it’s getting so good I’m legit so excited 🙌🙌🙌🙌

Props to Poppy for making sure all her peeps are read in before they all moved forward, for everyone's safety. Also, we all totally called Erdene's dad having some kind of clan ties, but glad to know her dad isn't some rival clan leader or something! They think Gil doesn't know anything, but I have a feeling Gil knows more than they think he does, which doesn't bode well for anyone. But holy crap, Pops was with Julri for 6 years?!?!?!?!!! No wonder it threw her for such a loop! Damn girl, but I'm so glad she's taking some Poppy time so Tora isn't just a rebound. And Quincey calling Tora OUT, "Poppy is special to someone who would rather die than admit it. No prizes for guessing who." I love that Granny checked into the hospital essentially under an alias! So her name is actuality Pearl, but her maiden name was Kim? That was a little confusing, but that kinda makes sense, since it's causing some confusion for poor Tora later on too. So wait, who already brought Granny flowers and the fruit bowl?? We saw at the end, it wasn't Tora because he had the wrong name. And it certainly wouldn't be Julri, since Granny have us her opinion on him (and she's 100% correct). I loved Granny being a salty old woman, "they're making me stay for observation because *old people*." Sounds like my Papa! 🤣 He complains Florida is full of old people all the time 🤣 Also, low blow Granny. That's some underhanded fighting trying to get Poppy home with her. The theories that Poppy's mother having some kind of clan ties is gaining traction, in my opinion. What could Granny be still keeping from Poppy, which would make sense, since her mom's been MIA for years. But yeah, Granny, ya not subtle. Loving Poppy laying down the law on her though. "I'm happy in the city, please let me grow up on my own!" I'm glad they made up before Poppy left, but that makes me nervous about Granny's safety!! But back to Tora at the wrong address, Gyu's gonna get so much flack from Tora for getting him bad Intel. But how will he find Poppy if her phone is dead?? Hopefully he'll find her at the hospital or maybe walking home to Granny's, since she doesn't have a car there. Ahhhh, I can't wait for more info and hopefully a Poppy/Tora reunion next week!!!!!

Okay so here's a theory maybe poppys mom is a clan leader and that's why her granny is trying to keep her away from the city and almost hide her in this small town now even crazier theory what if quincy and poppy have the same mom I know crazy but think about it his mom is another big clan leader and he looks just like his dad we've never seen his mom and we really only saw poppys mom once and I don't even think we saw her face so I honestly think this could be possible update: I want to add to this maybe they don't have the same mom but maybe they are related some how like friends or even sisters I just feel like they both have these moms who we've never seen and are both so mysterious

What if Poppy’s dad was the one in a clan and the reason Poppy’s mom left was because she found out and didn’t want to be in that lifestyle. And Poppy’s dad refused to give up custody of Poppy and her mom didn’t really have any other choice other than comply (with all those clan resources behind him). Then she continued to stay away for fear of clan repercussions.

I’ve always had this inkling that there was a nefarious reason behind why Poppy’s mom left. Maybe her mother is Clan affiliated and either she left her family to protect them, was given an ultimatum, or she chose the Clan business over her family. Pretty sure granny knows everything, but kept it secret to protect Poppy. And maybe that’s the truth she’s withholding? Also, why would Poppy’s address be masked? Was it in order to protect her so their family’s enemies couldn’t find them? Maybe Poppy is a lost clan princess! 😆 I am curious if granny did what she did because she knew Poppy is in danger and had to bring her home. I’m also curious why all of sudden there’s this impending danger to Poppy? What did Quincy and Tora find out or get wind of? Is she truly in danger and how do the clans know about her? Maybe this is also the reason why granny didn’t want Poppy moving to the city. But destiny always has a way of finding people and maybe it’s fate that Poppy got involved with Tora. Orrr I can totally be off and we have no idea where this is leading to. Lol! I just know that if Poppy is truly in danger, I’m not worried cause she has Tora and Quincy. 💪🏼

Theory time! Granny has always used her maiden name because her daughter (Poppy’s mom) has some connection to the mafia. When the mom left she must have told Granny everything and made sure no one could track her down, which is why Granny uses her maiden name and the address is swapped. Poppy doesn’t know this because Granny never told her the truth about it, so Poppy just assumes she’s using her married name all this time. I think the broach belonged to Poppy’s mom but her dad told her it was his because she was young when he died and it was probably too painful to bring up her mom. I think the mom was in hiding the whole time she was with Poppy’s dad but was discovered so she had to abandon Poppy to keep her safe. Maybe Poppy’s mom’s first love was in the mafia and he was super possessive so when she left him he tracked her down. It took years but he eventually found her and forced her to go back with him. Maybe she agreed to go with him if he would leave Poppy and Poppy’s dad alone. BUT now with Poppy in the city maybe the mom found out she was hanging with Tora and the Balthuman clan so she went to Granny and told her to convince Poppy to go back to Moonbright and stay away from Narin and Tora. Crazy theory, but I’m sticking to it until Lily proves me wrong, lol. Great episode, I’m so excited to hear more theories from everyone and watch how this story unfolds.

Ohh, this is one of my favourite episodes so far! So much to process here, new threads emerging, theories smashed, new theories, character development, yaay! I love the dynamics between granny and Poppy, how she calls out on her bshit, firmly but with kindness and love.😅 And I love, love, love the glimpse into the relationshop between Tora and Jacob through their little flashback interaction. I mean Tora's speech bubble is super threatening and Jacob still dares to complain about the crumbs ☺ And Quincey showing yet another side of himself!💚 While I'm soo happy that there is no hint of a love triangle, and it's an absolute treat to follow the relationship growing between Poppy and Tora, I could totally see Poppy falling in love with Quincey if circumstances were different.

Poppy’s family has to be involved somehow and it makes sense for it to trace to her mom since she’s been gone. I’m glad Quincey is concerned for her as well. Tora is probably really stressed and worried for his hamster and Quincey knows Poppy is important and special to Tora. Hope we can also soon dive into what had Tora choked up from what gyu discussed earlier in season one and more of what Toras past contains because it’s obvious already that it’s tragic and full of abuse due to Vincent. I can say it’s a safe bet to say Quincey doesn’t know how cruel his father has been to his basically brother. Oh and I’m still convinced Tora and Goliath are related.

First, my librarian self immediately started doing some digging on color symbolism because I found the use of color super interesting in this episode! 🤔🤔🤔 Here’s what I found: Blue: Integrity, feminine energy, and purity. Yellow: developing knowledge and centering the mind, also sunshine and happiness. Both of these colors are tied to Poppy. Orange: knowledge and good fortune. Black: wisdom and darkness. These colors tied together = clan truthiness time. Quincey is sharing (some of) his knowledge with Erdene and Jacob, while also ascertaining how much they know. Erdene shares a truth bomb when she shares that her father has clan dealings. All of this - all of them - Tora, Quincey, Poppy, Erdene, Gil are interwoven in a web that is probably immense. Adorable aside: EVERYONE knows the depth of Tora’s feelings for Poppy EXCEPT Poppy. 🥰🥰🥰 Also? “He Who Shall Not Be Named.” VoldeTorte. 😆😆😆 In this episode, Quincey has dropped his playful joie de vivre side and clues us in that he deeply understands *everything.* I really want to know who Quicey is thinking of when he’s talking about Poppy’s sacrifice. Should she sacrifice herself, her integrity, or someone else? Who has Quincey sacrificed? Or is he thinking of the sacrifices Tora has made? Or is he thinking of the sacrifices to come? There are so many sacrifices in this story. 😞 We also learn that Erdene also understands what Poppy has been dealing with. It shows that even though Poppy has been holding everything really close to her chest and trying to deal with things on her own, her friends know and understand what she’s been going through. Oh, my 💙. Are Erdene and Jacob still in the dark regarding Gil? I think so? Random thoughts: Fleur = French for flower. Grandma Fleur. Poppy = a type of flower. Flower shaped pin… The orange and black color combo is popping up again in the hospital, more truthiness on the horizon. Juxtaposition between Granny’s top (winter scene) and Poppy’s dress (spring blooming) is an interesting juxtaposition between both their ages and their life experiences. Granny is a massive sass machine and expert manipulator. I adore her. Also? Anyone who calls Julri a “vile little shitbag” and a “little weasel” is aces in my book. I cannot wait till she meets Tora. Notice that the color yellow also surrounds Granny. Family ties! Poppy knows her Granny very, very well - and her fixing all of the furniture before she moved proves it. However, savvy Granny finds the one wobbly piece of furniture to accidentally on purpose take a tumble. I get the feeling that there is some urgency as to why Granny wants Poppy out of the Narin City...she must have some clue that Poppy has gained the attention of the clan? “It’s not as straightforward as you think.” Welcome to the bend in the road, Pops. Final color thought: White = color of mourning. Both the blanket on Granny’s lap and her top are white. Maybe Granny is mourning for Poppy’s upcoming loss of innocence...or whatever Poppy is going to lose and/or face when Granny shares whatever secret that she’s been holding onto. Also? Granny Pearl...pearls are both white and black. This week has been brought to you by many symbolic colors, a metric buttload of foreshadowing, and a few truthbombs that are about to land on our Poppy. Buckle up, buckaroos! 🎢🎢🎢

Heres a thought. . . Maybe none of Poppys family are in or were in the mafia. Maybe they are running or hiding from the mafia because they were witnesses to criminal acts and went into witness protection. Maybe mom left because she put the family at to much risk. Granny is a trip and a half! I definitely see where Poppy gets it from! What is Granny NOT telling her? Why is Tora having a hard time finding their house? Ok here are my predictions for next week: Poppy’s address was accidentally flipped in the system and Tora will try 13 Moonbright instead. There he’ll find Poppy arguing with Julri outside her house (because the used toilet paper man was waiting for her). Then we get to see Poppy punch Julri (because this queen doesn’t need saving) and Tora applies first aid to her hands and fluff ensues! What do you think??

Madame Pearl? Guys, that name is boss af! What if granny was a mob boss?🤵🏻‍♀️😃😃😃 I would freaking love that!!! 😄 She’s so saucy and bossy all the time. For real though, most people are speculating that Poppy’s mom must have clan ties because she left and because of that resting b!tch face photo🙎🏻‍♀️. But the heirloom 🌹 clip, which seems to be pretty important, was from her father. Also, those dudes had roses tattooed on their head, so maybe that clan is still active. Someone above 👆 suggested a potential Romeo and Juliette situation for poppy and Tora, but maybe that was Poppy’s parents’ story. Maybe they had to run and hide from both clans (with granny’s help?) to be together, but mom couldn’t handle leaving the life and losing financial backing (cuz I have to imagine someone whose title is madame had some serious doe💰🤔 ). And if the only way to leave the clan life is death, did Poppy’s dad really die of natural causes? So many questions running through my mind with this episode!!! (Cue Inspector Gadget theme song full blast🕵🏻‍♀️🕵🏻‍♀️🕵🏻‍♀️) OMG I was not intending to go full on tinfoil here 👩‍🚀 but I definitely chased that white rabbit 🐇 down the hole. 😵‍💫 Y’all really get my mind working! I love this place! ! I love this community! I love your beautiful mind and gifted hands, Lily! 👏👏👏👏okay I know I’m late but I had to process. This was by far my favorite episode! THIS was riveting to experience the awesome intellect of Poppy and Tora! You were right Ms Lilly and friend who’s name I forgot, Poppy is a very think on the fly, fluid type of smarty pants, I loved how she set her Granny to tell on her own self like, ‘yeah Granny what happened? You fell? So here’s the thing…’ Gotcha! And Tora is so methodical and intentional it’s unsettling in a good way, he was like a computer in the end, like ‘recalculating.’ But it’s such a good balance and compliment to each other! What a riveting round that one was, looking forward to next week!

The love and adoration Tora has for poppy is so sweet. I love Tora's character (poppy's too). He has so much to him and he is so respectful and a gentlemen to poppy. We don't even know much about his back story but know enough that it was tragic and traumatic but Poppy has made his life better simply by accident. He has his violent side that he had no choice but to learn and has probably seen so much shit but can still show so much care to poppy. He is cold and quiet but is also fun and gentle. Despite his moodiness he cares deeply for Quincey as well like a brother. I love how Tora is protective of poppy but he doesn't overstep her boundaries and goes out of his way for her. He cares for her even more than he knows. Tora can also be vulnerable which is so good. I really have to applaud you lilt for the detail and depth you have put into this story and its characters. Tora isn't perfect but he really is a good guy with so much light. He actually cares for poppy and likes even the littlest things she does. I just love his care for her it makes me melt and how poppy is willing to stand up to gang members in Tora's defense. Poppy is strong and no damsel in distress but her and Tora work together in many ways. Lily shows perfectly that you don't need someone else to be happy but that doesn't mean it can't be a beautiful thing to have with the right person. The relationship and emotions between Tora and poppy is a dream tbh. Tora isn't toxic like many of the romance I run into. Love this sm Lily!

ran way too many miles and survived and EEEEEEEEP this episode was SO worth it. I love really good dialogue scenes and you bless us with TWO in one ep?? -swoon- The headlock was everything I hoped for. Bless. My brain is mush from running 15 hours but what continuously stands out to me in scenes like this is Poppy’s integrity and the ramifications of that. Her willingness to have a very frank discussion with Erdene and Jacob about Quincey and to get their consent and/or conditions for his contract, her very frank discussion of her own needs with Quincess and Tora AND recognizing they would have conditions of their own to be met, AND negotiating boundaries and expectations with Granny??? Writing realistic dialogue is so so hard and you did it so so well and I just - GAH - Side note of appreciation for Professor-Tora if he could just come and carry me around for a few days while my legs recover that would be excellent please thank you byeeeee Also mad shout out to Quincey. I love seeing all the layers and the fact that his flamboyant silliness isn’t mutually exclusive of his calculating business acumen isn’t exclusive of his social perceptiveness and kindness and honesty. You’d think I couldn’t like him any more than I already do but every panel basically proves me wrong. Oh RIGHT THE PLOT Okay granny???? What is up??? Here’s my crackhead tinfoil theory that’s absolutely way off base and which Patty can add to her list of “most ridiculous MPL conspiracies”: Granny is hiding Goliath in her house because he’s somehow related to Poppy’s missing mom who is somehow related to the mafia and Granny is using her maiden name at the hospital to hide her identity and Goliath hacked his way into some system somewhere to change Granny’s/Poppy’s address so if anyone comes looking for them they go to the wrong house. (Did I miss any of the “MPL Theories Greatest Hits” with that one?) (Goliath is not at Granny’s house otherwise she would have not tried to get Poppy to come back to Moonbright and she wouldnt have let Pops go home to charge her phone please don’t @ me) I do really wonder why Granny changed her name for the hospital. There’s a slight possibility she’s getting harassed by the mafia(?) and that’s protection? I wonder if the address change was by Granny for the same reason OR if it was changed by an outside party with more malicious intent? I can’t wait for next Friday night. Brb I gotta stock up on popcorn and marbles in preparation.

What if granny is actually granny Balthuman? She looks alot like quincy and his father. I wonder if she noped out of Narin with her daughter after learning how much of a sadist Vincent was/is. Because it seems like granny has been in Moonbright far longer, before poppy came along. Vincent's anger towards his mum is the reason why granny wants poppy out Narin would make sense. Also, abuse starts at home. What if he started by bullying Poppys mother/his sister, and that is what pushed granny out of Narin.

Ohh, what a gorgeous way to start off the episode! The black and white reminded me of Atnomen (incredible comic oh WEBTOON, I highly recommend checking it out!) and worked well with Jacob looked shook and Quincey like a boss! His eyes really jumped out at me and made me gooey over the incredible detailing yet again. Then surprise again! Jacob and Erdene know they’re in a clan? Absolutely did not see that coming and I LOVE that instead of going all hidden about it, it’s out there in the open for the two of them. That Poppy doesn’t have to hide that part of her job. And now I desperately want to go back to the club arc and re read all of their interactions in it, now knowing what I do. High key love me some open communication, it doesn’t dull the story at all, just adds to the suspense! Jacobs little jab at Tora was brilliant! He’s not wrong in fairness, he does scream, “I’m in the mafia.” And their little bromance moment in the background was a lot of fun. Looks like Tora’s friendship circle might be getting larger. Fingers crossed! Erdene’s totally non plussed reaction to it too was a relief I didn’t realise I needed. I guess for those native to Narin City, it’s not a huge deal. Just something you hear and let go over your head. Very unsurprised Gil doesn’t know, or that Quincey deliberately kept it from him. Pft, pft! The look on Quincey’s face and Erdene’s sweat drop at the mention of Tora rather dying than admit how special Poppy is to him. This is going to be so much fun to watch them all watching Poppy and Tora dance around each other while secretly gossiping together. Reining myself in, I like the insight that came with that part. That normally Quincey solidly hides his identity, but knowing having Poppy know was important to Tora, really added so much without saying barely anything. Flawless! The levity didn’t stay for long, with the conversation turning deep quickly after that. There was a lot of pain coming from Quincey reflecting it’s not an easy choice that Poppy is caught between. I wonder if we get more background into Quincey too? I hope so, I’m very intrigued! It’s incredible how it all rolls back around to the notebook, and we still don’t know where it is. Well, with Erdene putting it all out like that with everything Poppy has been through recently, I had to take a huge breath to relax, cause she’s just had another layer of crap to add to it with granny in hospital too! I’m going to hold on to Quincey’s words and wonder just what and when things will come to an end. I’m buckled in and ready for the ride! Moonbright!! I’ve been really looking forward to seeing more of Poppy’s home town. And getting to see sassy granny too. In seconds you can see where Poppy gets her feistiness from! And who didn’t yell with joy when she called out Julri and put him in the dirt along with us?! But after that, I was immensely uncomfortable with granny. Guilt trips are instant triggers for me, and having granny try and pull that on Poppy rattled me. There’s very clearly something she’s not saying, but instead of being honest with Poppy’s trusting her to make her own choices, she’s making them for her and going about it all wrong. That being said, it’s nice to see she’s not a perfect character, and Poppy stand up for herself. But why did she sign herself in with her maiden name? Why was their address swapped in the system? More fuel to the theorist fires burning bright!
