This was such an amazing episode! It's wonderful to see him feel new things with her, and lean on her. Never thought he would get scared of getting caught with her. I love how he shows more of a human side in a sense. Poppy part of the mafia? Maybe because she's with him, she feels like she is. Is there a whole other side of poppy we haven't seen? Possibly. The spider had to go and interrupt. These two are amazing, they're different but also balance each other out. The little touches and the way he pulls her to him, then presses her hand to his heart *chefs kiss* the kiss was amazing too. Very steamy on the last panel. The way he opened up to her is precious, it's sad he isn't used to people wanting to know more about him. You've outdone yourself, you always do! Thank you for your hard work!

Oooh this episode just reminded me of a comment I left for episode 73: “…Well, Poppy is still in the dark about why she’s in danger, and they’re both in the dark about her family’s potential mafia ties (crazy thought just hit me, what if Poppy does know? 🤔).” Y’all, Poppy may not be as oblivious as we think about the danger she’s in. I think most of us assumed that granny and dad were trying to protect her from the gang ties, and the house is certainly remote enough to be called a hideout, but kids pick up on everything. Lying to her about the white van when she was little probably only peaked her interest. I think she knows how her family is gang related, and why granny would rather she live back home. And I hope we find out more when we get to see those picture frames. 🕵🏻‍♀️🤞🤞🤞

So I think Poppy is joking. The point is that they ARE different; Tora doesn't really joke or lie, even his off hand comments are true (kind of a celebrity/well known in certain circles, plays guitar, hotline to lethal weapon, etc), city boy orphan who can't stand bugs (probably can't swim either, hopefully he can stand though, Poppy is obv. swimming). Poppy has no problem saying things like "he's my uncle," surrounded by family (her dad and granny, at least) in the country who has no problems with bugs and used to swimming in the lake or pond. So she's fucking with him, playing into the "try me" to tease and joke with him, maybe point out that he's the gullible or naive one, not her... or rather, an equal but opposite mix that complements each other without outdoing each other. Neat little parallel to the Ares Street encounter though - Poppy yielding to Tora on his turf when those gangsters were chasing her, Tora yielding to Poppy on her turf when spotted by her peoples, letting each other handle it. Tora talking about how he doesn't hide [his tattoos] on his turf, freaking out about covering up on Poppy's. Tora being incredibly anxious mirroring Poppy's anxiety on Ares street. Hiding in an alleyway and hiding under a pier. Hopefully this time Poppy doesn't run away and they can continue where they left off, and maybe even he'll "show her what he can do with that stick" unlike that time on Ares Street. He also doesn't have his cigarette to calm those nerves, perhaps a bit more anxious than usual because of it? Though he does have a nice thick, curvy reward in his arms right now...

Raise your hand if you were a thousand different emotions during this episode and ended up gasping at the illegal cliffhanger and now feel like you’re going to be a WRECK by next Friday? 🙋🏻‍♀️ Hot DAMN this episode is going to be fuelling me all week. I can’t tell you how happy I feel right now which is a feat in itself for me at the moment. Gonna plunge in otherwise I’ll just talk 5am nonsense for the whole analysis of this frankly INCREDIBLE update. I love that we saw that last panel of the previous episode, because I started smiling instantly seeing how close she was to him. How semi relaxed Tora was. That “...maybe.” Oof, Lily took no prisoners with the start to this one. I felt that smile started to slip kinda quick. It got semi intense hella fast, which wasn’t too much of a surprise given what they were talking about. And I really applauded Poppy for admitting to her being judgey, for owning that. We’re all guilty of it, Pops. But having her validate she isn’t holding his past against him, that she KNOWS him...yeah, I might’ve melted a little at that. Breathed a big sigh of relief for them both. I was chanting, ‘Don’t do it, Poppy! Don’t you go inside your head with this! Keep Julri out.’ But inevitably it was a good reminder that that gaslighting little prick only got his bitch slap of the century only a couple of hours ago and that hold is going to take time to overcome. But it still broke my heart to watch her retreat like that. Side note, I need that top from her flashback. And then he grabbed her and pulled her back! Bloody ace timing Tora, I was starting to get anxious he was going to leave her hanging. Though he doesn’t owe her anything, and if opening up doesn’t come naturally it’s hard as hell to do, I was very aware how perceptive he’s been in the past when she’s been triggered by the little potato dweebs past treatment. And again I have to remind myself it’s not Tora’s job to rescue Poppy either. But a little support goes a long way. And true to form he comes through, breaking the tension with a bribe. We see you, tiger. Any excuse for a kiss... Ugh, that little foot kick in the air by Poppy gives me butterflies! Any and all physical contact they have makes me giddy! It’s never enough, I always want more which just makes it more fun/tortuous. And that look in her eyes!! Lily, ma’am, she is glorious! She might be blushing brighter than the sun, but holy shit if that didn’t give me tingles! Tora you are so screwed, bruh. Gah, their bants! And she swore! Is that left over from her embarrassment at the quick kiss, or because she’s just comfortable enough with him on her home turf to let loose? Either way I was cheering. He IS a goof. Oof, felt like my heart weighing a brick dropped to my stomach when the banter ended and he said he was an orphan. This insight into his past was kinda painful to read. I won’t pretend to know where that nonchalance comes from as he said it, because regardless of how long ago it’d been since he lost his parents, some hurts never go away no matter how much time has passed. But I also know it can mask many things. I ‘joke’ that I’m basically an orphan now. My mum has gone and my dad hasn’t been around - like Poppy’s mum - since I was 4. But that joking is a quick defence before I get the pity too. Which like Tora I don’t want. But it’s human nature and as Poppy says she can relate more than most to what he’s been through. And what an insight into both their pasts that was! So now I have to wonder just what caused her mum to leave. There’s a lot of theorising that it’s because she’s part of a clan. Maybe it’s fundamentally because she just didn’t want to be a mum. But I’ll come back to that in a sec... For now I’m pulling Tora up on his quick to dismiss any other similarities they might have. I can try to understand why, his life his dangerous and he doesn’t want to tarnish hers in any way that could be that negative. And maybe he’s feeling a touch vulnerable right now and getting on the defensive to stop any potential hurt that could come with him opening up to her right now. My heart ached a little for the both of them either way. Poppy...is in...the mafia? Ok, going to screw my head back on for a second and remind myself we don’t know enough right now for me to lose it completely. But just going to take a second to say, whuuuuh? *coughs* Ok, her body language is telling me there’s no kidding around here from Poppy. So my logical brain is reminding me she’s a smart cookie and if questions have come up in the past then Poppy probably did some digging of her own somewhere and may have stumbled across ‘something’ at some point. So now my brain is racing back trying to remember the other times the mafia has been brought up, but at the moment I can’t think of anything that’s popping out at me. And maybe it could be a metaphor for something - though I highly doubt that too. I’m just trying to play don’t let the tin foil theories get out of control in my mind, game right now, ha. So back to her mum thing...is her mum in the mafia? Might as well ask the same question everyone else is. LOL. We interrupt this mafia surprise with a well timed, fucking behemoth of a spider, crawling up Tora’s leg!! Holy shit indeed!! I do not lie when I say I had a big arse spider crawling up my NECK 2 days ago and I screamed like the badass girl I am. So seeing THIS so close to my own brush with one was startling!! And I fully expected Tora to scream like a banshee too. Hahaha! Seriously though, welcome to being out in the sticks, tiger! I mean shit, that spider meant business!! I’d have willingly tossed my arse over the railing to get away from that mini beast too! Any excuse to get wet...and remove your clothes...aye Tora. *wink wink, nudge nudge* The spiders ‘kyaaa’ is going up there with the motion sensor sweating at Tora’s threat, for me. The humour break was freaking amazing! Did Poppy really think she’d be able to stop this hulk of a man from going over? Pft pft, sweet thought, Pops. Now you’re all wet too! Oh no....*thank you, thank you, thank you!* And the laughs keep coming! Here we have Tora gracefully emerging from the water like the Greek god he is. And then we have Poppy, in all her splashing glory. I am Poppy by the way. Poppy is me. The difference between them though was perfection. And another note to the work, I mean that water detail is *chefs kiss* freaking stunning!! And the way he’s helping her brush her hair out of her face...This lake moment is going right up there as one of my favourite so far! Which is getting bloody hard to choose from. And I’m very grateful for that! Loved Tora’s, ‘Oh shit!’ expression when Ned and June rocked up. The face of a thousand memes to come, I hope. And Julri is now just ‘that boy from the potato farm’ who does unsavoury things with them because he’s a petty arse bitch who clearly lacks some ambition. Other than to be a douche bag boyfriend and waste perfectly could taters. Back on track...oh look Tora’s lost his shirt in the water somewhere...that’s, I mean that’s a real shame. RIP the turtleneck. You’ll be missed. *giggles* Tora is full on having a little freak out over here isn’t he? He’s all panic and stutter and I love seeing him undone like this! And June, you’ve got my respect and I hope you keep that, tall, dark, handsome shadow information to yourself! Poor Poppy could power Moonbright with her blushing tonight. Pft pft! Well I’m deceased!! Just that beautiful, hot picture of Tora pulling her closer to him under the water has slayed me. Of course it’s his ‘heartbeat’ that’s strong and hard...what else would it be, Pops? I mean I think this is about the extent of my analysis of this episode because my mind has dropped straight to the gutter the second he put hands on her and started cranking the intimacy level up! It’s hot, undoubtedly, but it’s also so so much more than that. And the romantic in me is screaming with joy at their progression and his high level of comfort with her to be able to admit he’s an anxious mess. (Highly relatable and funny! I want a fucking refund on it too, tiger.) But my heart is skipping beats too, watching him get butterflies because he’s catching deeper feels for his hamster and he’s in a totally unknown place, almost getting caught and no doubt worrying about how his appearance would affect Poppy. It’s all building up and to be left with that cliffhanger of a kiss...so unfair! Suppose I’ll just have to re read this again and again to get me through the week. A very long, amazing episode, Lily! You never ever scrimp on the details and the art work is stunning alongside a perfectly written story. You’ve got us falling for them over and over and I’m very grateful for it. This was just the most magical and deeply romantic episode that dropped several emotional and potentially plot revealing bombs (bb orphan Tora 🥺//Poppy mafia family 🤯). LILY HOW DO YOU DO THIS WEEKLY?! I was struck by a possible parallel between Poppy telling herself not to withdraw (with the flashback to Julri chastising her) and Tora’s recollection in the alley of Joe telling him that “no matter how dark it gets, inside ya…always remember to leave a light on. So that some day…someone will be able to find ya in there.” Poppy is telling herself to not withdraw…don’t withdraw…while the light on her is slowly fading until we’re left with a black box. It’s hard for Poppy (or anyone for that matter) to reach in, find herself, and bring herself back to the light. It is so poignant that, while their past experiences are on different scales (i.e. mafia violence and a psychologically abusive ex), Tora and Poppy are both trying to find their way out of their own suffocating darkness….and cue Tora pulling her back out of the darkness in a way that mirrors how Poppy grounded him in the alley (re: ALL THE KISSES PLEASE). Also, Poppy’s “if only it were that simple” line absolutely destroys me and it really feels like this moment (in addition their entire night) is a turning point in their relationship. No going back now….ready for all of the emotional turbulence, notebook drama, and KISSES coming their way. 🙌🙌🙌😍😍😍

Tora’s turtleneck turning into a tank top (which I am never going to complain about ever cause TATS UNF). June wing man ftw. Their simple talk of their backgrounds. Not in depth, but they shared a connection and the slow burn is evolving. And of course, the way he pulls her body in, calls her sweetheart and they naturally kiss. *flails* this whole chapter is just so good. It’s all I want in a romance! ❤️ Amazing! I love this episode so much! I feel like when things start to get rough, this is the episode we’re all going to need to come back to for emotional support! ❤️ Between the art and the dialogue, it’s one of my favorites! I haven’t seen anyone talk about this yet, but after Poppy says “But I also know you well enough to see you for who you are now, not who you were in the past”, Tora stays silent and looks away with a blank stare. I feel like in Tora’s mind at this moment he’s thinking, “It’s still who I am now”. He is zoning out because he knows he is still that violent person. It hasn’t been that long since his hit against the 9-daggers clan (albeit he didn’t kill anyone that time). He likely continues to struggle between who he is with Poppy (which are all the good parts) and the more dirty violent parts of himself. Vincent could call on him at any moment to take out someone and he would have to comply or risk getting killed himself. We are in Poppy’s mind for this scene and see first hand her struggle with trying to find that deeper connection and I think if we were to peek into Tora’s mind we would find he’s struggling to reconcile the two very polarized sides of himself. Major props to both Tora and Poppy to find a way through their struggles and to be able to trust in each other a little more. 💞

Omg, there's so much, I'm not sure how to organize my thoughts. Adghrcegj#%='fby *and more mental keyboard smashing* *ahem* I'm okay. Really. Anyway... First off, I love the way Tora always seems to pull Poppy back from the metaphorical ledge when she starts to panic or withdraw. Or when he can see she's gotten into her own head. Outside the grocery store, at the gas station, in the house before dinner, and even in his kitchen before he pulled her in for a hug. But this time he did it with an actual touch, which I already feel like has been more their form of intimacy more than kissing. And, lord, that look. The man knows how to work a smoulder. Then the look on *Poppy's* face and that flush. Her resistance is starting to crumble. She wants this, but still isn't quite ready to give in to it. BACKSTORY, HALLELUJAH! Thank you, dear Lily. But... ohh. The plot thickens. I absolutely, 100% believe that Poppy means what she said about being in the mafia and that she means it literally. I already had some running theories in my head about both Gil and Granny. I just hasn't figured on Poppy knowing/admitting to a connection. The look on Tora's face after she says that is pure gold, too. That "...Wut?" expression. And of course that tantalizing little thread is left hanging as that monster of a spider decides to make a move on Tiger Boy herself. I'm pretty sure I would have had the same reaction. But then... omg. 😂 The moment I saw the picture of him reaching out, I had a feeling things were going to play out like that. I mean, Poppy can't just *let* something happen to someone. Be that chasing a car through a city to save a little old man, or reaching out to try to save one boulder of a man from falling off a pier. Now for my analytical mode. Back at Regina's Peak, Tora did all he could to keep Poppy from falling. Both literally and emotionally. He wanted to fully protect her and was willing to cut himself out of her life to do so. Now Tora is the one falling... and Poppy is going down with him. Head over heels, if you will. Then in the water with the two of them. Just like in the alley on Ares Street, their potential moment is interrupted, and they have to duck quickly out of sight. (By the by... Tora's dripping wet deer in the headlights look is one of my top ten favorite panels EVER. 😂) And now it's the boss thug's turn to deal with nerves when he's clearly out of his element. I love the additional little callbacks to that night Civilian 101 vs. Mafia 101, and Tora feeling like a stool pigeon. 🤣 Back to appreciation mode... I love all the underwater shots. Poppy on Tora's back, holding onto each other without hesitation. And the contrast of light and dark with their clothes, which I didn't notice before. Then our Tiger pulling her back to him and pressing her hand to his heart. *swoon* I think it's definitely a bit of "I feel new things with you, and I don't know how to deal with them." And then that final scene. I adore that kiss. There's no blush this time. No hesitation. No coaxing. They've had a moment. Tora came to Poppy's rescue with potato boy, and Poppy saved him right back from the well-meaning neighbors. They've started opening up to one another, and they've shared the mother of embarrassing moments and come out the other side still smiling and laughing with one another. It's a kiss that's warm, and easy, and romantic.

I know a lot of people have commented about the Moonbright arc mirroring the opening of the season on Ares Street, but this episode made me think even further back to when Poppy fell out of the tree in season 1. There, Poppy was essentially falling into Tora and his world, bringing the two of them down to the ground for a hard landing. Tora hid his face from her, pretending to be someone else as he literally blinded her. Tora touched her, but then ran, leaving Poppy alone. But now here in Moonbright, Tora falls and Poppy is the one racing to grab him. They fall together, but this time landing somewhere much more gentle. Tora helps Poppy see after the fall, revealing himself as he wipes the wet hair out of her face - he WANTS her to see him now as he reacts freely and uninhibitedly.

Actually, i reread the whole thing and i have some questions about the timeline. So, let's see. Poppy said she is Pisces, so that means that her birthday is sometime between Feb 23 and March 22, right? There is no indication of Tora's sign, but let's assume he is Aries, and their birthdays are about 10 days apart. Also Tora is 5 years older than Poppy. So here is our timeline. Poppy goes to Moonbright on Sunday, March 5, finds Julri, meets Tora, he takes her pic, saves her from the fall. Next day, March 6, Poppy meets Mr Lam, Tora runs around the town with her, later that night they have dinner @ Alice's. On Thursday, March 9, Poppy chases Mr Lam to Ares St, meets Quincey, Tora drives her home, they have dinner at her home. Saturday, March 11 Poppy meets with Mr Lam and gives him the proposal. On Tuesday, March 14, Tora visits her on the roof, they kiss for the first time, Tora delivers the painting to Mr Lam.Next day, Wednesday, March 15, day of Tora's heist and Poppy's birthday, their picnic on Regina's Peak. Next day, Thursday, March 16, dinner at Gudrun's, Tora passed out. Friday, March 17, Poppy visits Tora at his home, they kiss. Monday, March 20, first meeting with Quincey, Poppy realizes about his involvement with Balthuman clan. They plan a party. Then Saturday, March 25, the party night and Tora's birthday. Then Sunday, March 26, Ares st confrontation with thuglets, and finally, Monday, March 27, Poppy goes to Moonbright, visits grandma at hospital, confronts Julri, and is currently at her grandma's house with Tora, where they just fell in the lake. Why does Poppy say that it is early summer? Did i miss something?

So… I’m never one for the big brain analysis… but this episode just got my mind racing far far into the future 😂. Before reading MLP I do remember someone commenting about Quincey being poppy love interest in the earlier releases. And with all the speculations about Poppy being involved with the mafia and her maybe also admitting it… 🧐 let’s just say that all true right… and I don’t know if Quincey sexual identity is known with his father and family so what IF!! Later in the story Poppy and Quincey are expected to be married forsake of a Mafia Unite between two of the biggest clans!! (And I know Quincey would never hurt Tora in that way but if he had no choice in the matter.. 🤷‍♀️) Leaving Tora to fight with his Loyal to the Clan and giving up the love of his life or choosing his self first. Oooo Juicy I know 😌😌 I just had to put this out there incase it ever happens know I called it here first 😝. Anyways I ready for next Saturday already.

Okay guys, I realize that I'm late to the party but this theory randomly popped into my head just now and I had to get it down before my brain decides that I'm being crazy and forces me back to sleep (yup, this is a good old 1am theory). What if...and this is a BIG what if...Poppy's mom and Quincey's mom are the same person 🤯 (cue the shrieks of "Omg this girl is crazy!" and "Go back to bed you weirdo before you hurt yourself!" 😂) What if Quincey's mom somehow decided to "take a break" from Quincey's dad (that already sounds crazy because I'm pretty sure Vincent would never allow this to happen) and got together with Poppy's dad with Poppy being the result? After a while she's decided that she's had her fun and returns to Vincent. Hell, let's make this theory even crazier by saying that Vincent somehow finds out about Poppy's dad and has him quietly "taken care of" and Poppy is told her father has passed away from cancer rather than a discreet mafia hit? This might be why the first address Tora got from Gyu was a fake address and why Granny checked into the hospital under her maiden name, she's trying to keep Vincent (or even Poppy's mom) from finding her and Poppy. What if Wilkes isn't even Poppy's real last name and just a name to throw Vincent or her mom off? Now Poppy's a smart girl and probably wanted to know more about her mom at some point growing up. I'm sure (due to the above mentioned reasons), that her Granny was either vague in giving her details or just outright didn't tell her anything so Poppy decided to do her own research. During this research, she finds out that her mom is part of the __ Family (I don't think we've ever been told what mafia family Quincey's mom is from) and thus her reason for telling Tora that she's part of the mafia. Okay, that's all I've got for the moment on this theory. Sorry if it seems a bit all over the place and disorganized but in my defense it's now approaching 2am. Please feel free to elaborate on it or just completely discredit it or even point me in the direction of someone who has had a similar theory. Tin foil hat is now coming off and I'm going back to sleep 😴
