I KNEW IT. POPPY DOES 👏🏼NOT 👏🏼MISS 👏🏼A 👏🏼THING👏🏼. I called it. I called Gil and I called Poppy knowing Gil is fishy. THAT SAID I love this moment of self reflection on both her part and Tora’s - these two separate moments of understanding how the narratives we consciously and subconsciously use for our own lives affect our choices going forward. That self-awareness is soooooooo great to see in each of them. WE LOVE A GROW-UP. Side note: love the symbolism/parallel of the shot in which Poppy steps out of one low-cut flowery dress to wear Tora’s sweater - a choice, deliberately stepping into something new - juxtaposed with her wearing another dress in the current timeline that is in many ways the same cut and style, but which represents a moment of independence to her. She’s not changing the fundamental of who she is - she knows who she is - but she’s finding an expansiveness and freedom in herself, prompted by Tora, and he’s beginning to find comparable expansiveness in his own vulnerability around her AND I JUST LOVE IT OKAY JESUS TAKE MY MARBLES LILY

I am enjoying seeing inside both Poppy and Tora’s head. I’m also happy, but not surprised to see that Poppy has noticed Gil being a creep. Which makes me nervous about Gil, even more so than Vincent in some ways..... Also, Tora doubting himself, and his feelings makes me sad. My heart exploded when he said he missed her. Just pure mush in my ribcage now. And let me tell you, I am absolutely LIVING for the sexual tension and all the moments of kithing glory but I am DYING for them to have a heart to heart. Like where they bare their souls to each other. It's so refreshing to see them both slowly coming out of their shells, with Poppy being less afraid to be who she is, not concerning herself with how she should look or act, and Tora feeling less of a need to hide parts of himself and being less guarded. I feel like this is an important episode. It shows a lot of growth in Poppy and that her instincts are very good when it comes to people. She knows Gil is a shady guy and she has a back up plan she’s trying to execute. She’s realizing that she does not need to accept how other people see her and that she can just be herself, which is amazing! I’m also so glad we got to see what she’s been up to these last few days. Neither Tora nor Poppy have been in a real or healthy romantic relationship, so neither of them know what to expect. But Tora showed up to see her and her first thought was that she wanted to share her food with him. They’re doing their best with what they know! Absolutely adorable perfection! Now all that needs to happen is Poppy needs to realize her feelings and Tora needs to stop talking himself out of his! But oh man, that “I missed ya” had me ba-dumping too! I was smiling like a fool and blushing to the max! What a wonderful episode! I love the addition of getting to see more internal thoughts of our main two!!

I kind of love the flashback-ness of this episode, with the callbacks to early episodes. Partly, it's interesting to see how the art has improved over time. All of the characters consistently look like themselves, and the differences are subtle, but they're there, and I love them. Also, in the realm of character growth, I love how they're both trying to figure out new feelings and growing in their own distinct ways. Poppy gradually becoming more confident in herself, and Tora being so uncertain about his heart. Poor Tiger Boy is so twisted up in his nerves with those cigarettes, trying to tell himself it's just a little crush, while not knowing what to do with himself. He's just so twitterpated. ...And for all that he's not used to talking about his feelings, him admitting that he missed her feels like a big step. Taking a chance and making an effort to open up to his little flower. On top of him dressing up a little and willingly showing off his tats, after she'd told him he didn't need to hide around her. 💙

The last line "I missed ya" got me a smiling for 2 minutes and it was better than just a kiss, like the tension was going to. This is a new milestone I think, cause Tora is losing his defenses around her and that is showing us a new side of him that he himself has never knew, but I'm so curious to see how it will unveil ❤️ I think that Poppy will be the last one to realise she's fallen in love. Okay okay, let me get my brain juices flowing! So I really enjoyed this episode. That previous night was the first time they have been alone together, and although nothing really “happened” (well that nip slip ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) poor Tora didnt seee haha), them spending time with one other to grow to be comfortable (Poppy accepting herself more and honestly Tora as well) was a big step in their relationship with one another. I think when Tora said he was in love, that might of been an impulse just because of the tension that grows in that atmosphere. But him not being able to talk to his muse even for a couple of days after (Poppy is not only his escape from the life he has been living, but an emotional relief and refresh just by being able to experience things he’s never even given himself a chance too) really probably got to him just because there is an attachment to her that he’s never had before. Thats why he needed to see her. Whether that attachment is just a crush for now, is fine. Clearly even having a crush is a major step in his book with that simple last sentence he told her, which was just a genuine and honest “I missed ya”. In regards to Pops, I think honestly she just needed an emotional reset. Can we go back and look through everything she has found out, worked through, and overcome with a new perspective of herself? Finding out about Tora’s “work” (well the most that he can tell her anyway), going out of Town immediately for the one person in her family she has close to her (to end up honestly being tricked but it worked out in the end haha 😭), to her defending her new sense of self and getting closure with the irrelevant one (ya’ll already KNOW LOL), and then having to come back to work to not only get caught up in work sense but in a mental sense as well. It’s been overwhelming for her to be honest, but that doesn’t change how much Tora means. No matter how long or lack of communication, seeing him makes it seem like no time as passed at all. Although we haven’t heard a confession (a crush as Tora would say haha) from Pops, we can all really tell how much Tora has changed her life and her feelings ever growing for him. 🥺🥺♥️ okay brain juices done now LOL THANK YOU LILY FOR BEING AWESOMEEEEEEEE

I still think Gil is involved with Goliath and sent Poppy to interview him and get the tea on the clans like the tabloid magazine that they are. Gil knows about the notebook since that's how Goliath was gonna have it leaked. Maybe use it as blackmail against the listed members to get out of his debt? "Forgive this debt, or this will get published" kind of thing... Except of course it's not his head, it's Poppy's, the one he sent to Moonbright, and the one hes feeling animosity towards because she never got the deets from Goliath, he never got his piece, and maybe feels like she's intentionally withholding it from him. Of course he's bitter. He lost his golden egg thats gonna save his company and blames Poppy for it. But she's the one who got double the investment from Mr Lam and signing a famous novelist.

I loved getting more insight into both their thoughts this episode. And they have such distinct internal "voices" too, which is always fun to get a peek into. Tora trying to talk himself out of being in love - oh buddy, been there lol. Literally had someone ask me if I liked my husband before we'd started dating, and I was adamant we were "just friends," because I didn't want to get my hopes up and get hurt again. Been married over 8 years now, so I'd say that worked out in the end haha! Can't wait to see what the next part of the conversation in the little storage closet ends up being.

One of the things I love the most about this story, is that even when there aren't any romantic moments, the suspense and mystery going on alongside it draws me in and sends my mind reeling with theories and thoughts. I am cheering for these characters so hard, I find myself almost telling people in real life what’s happened with Poppy etc and realise they would have no idea what or who I’m talking about. So thank god for this community who gets it, otherwise I feel like my head would explode from trying to contain how this story makes me feel. And Poppy giving us a run down of where her thoughts were this episode, what she’d been up to for those few days was a very welcome catch up. I was really hoping it was as simple as she’d been through so much in such a short amount of time and needed time to recharge. And I could absolutely relate to that panel of her asleep with pizza in her hand. The girl is burning the candle at both ends - as my mum used to put it - and it’s so good to read she’s doing better. Just in time for the shit to hit the fan, maybe? Hmmm… I hope Poppy isn’t starting to worry about Erdene questioning if Tora has contacted her. As Poppy pointed out its not something they’ve really done. And that fascinates me! We’ve seen very few to the point messages from him. Or he’s just called when he was outside her apartment building. And they had the radio silence the week of the party that I presumed was Tora psyching himself up for it. But they’re masters at communicating - well almost any-way - when they are together, so I don’t think they - or Poppy - has anything to worry about. Also, I find it interesting that Erdene asks if TORA was the one to call to say hi. Works both ways, Poppy could have called him too. I know she was exhausted, but up until Dene saying anything she didn’t think it was unusual for them. I am WHOOPING with joy that after recovering from being a soul-less house plant, Poppy put on her fancy lil dress because that shift of confidence and take life by the balls mentality is starting to shift in a positive direction. And I am so freaking proud of her! It sounds like she’s been doing a lot of soul searching too - that I’ll come back to in a minute - and the simple act of putting on a pretty fabulous little dress is incredible! Gil....OK, I won’t lie I am getting super nervous now. That Poppy has been aware of his animosity towards her since he tried to play off a notebook with her is worrying! The stress of carrying that around while trying to act like everything is normal takes its toll. So add that to her long list of shit that’s been going down for her recently. But at the same time I am smirking at how once again she gets written off by people around her. She’s very crafty and perceptive and I love the idea of people being shocked by it, when the time comes. He’s clearly doing a shit job of hiding his real feelings and I hope she carries on listening to her intuition. How she can question if she’s pulling her weight enough around the office just makes me want to go find Julri and anyone else who’s made her feel insecure. She’s probably the most hard working one of them all. “I also find it incredibly hard to speak my mind about difficult subjects.” As much as I want to pin all the blame of this mentality on Jerki because of his gas lighting. But big picture, Poppy’s had a shit ride through life in a lot of ways and it doesn’t surprise me that she struggles. It’s overwhelming and being someone who gets written off because of how she looks or her age, I can see why she wouldn’t find it easy to address conflict. That being said, I’m hoping Tora sticks with what he said about the trust thing she tried to brush off a few episodes ago. He’s always been great about encouraging her to speak her mind and given time and confidence maybe she’ll find it easier. So back to that little bit of soul searching Poppy may have been doing - she is bang on the money about a self fulfilling prophecy! And I’m sure being trapped in a long and draining/toxic relationship hasn’t helped her be able to break through that vicious cycle. But she had a turning point by confronting Jerkface and I hope she stays on that course instead of going with it because it’s easier. Poppy is catching feelings, whether she realises how much or not doesn’t matter. It's a massive progression for herself and them and I just circle back to how freaking amazing the pacing of this story is! Oh - oh no. Tora is doubling back on himself at lightning speed! Put on the brakes there, tiger! You can’t go from admitting to yourself that you’re in love and then dwindle that down to a CRUSH! That’s not how this works, mister. OK, my heart is racing as fast as his thoughts are now he’s back to seeing her. His anxiety around his feelings is intense. I understand if this change is based on fear - a legit reason if its the clan he’s afraid of. But I’m sensing more the fear of being rejected by her. Is he preparing himself for her wanting to cut and run when he tells her everything? Has he gotten too inside his head in the silence of those few days between them? Hmm, I don’t think it’s that one because despite him downgrading his feelings, he IS seeking her out. He IS making a point of showing off his tats and being himself around her. So he’s still in, but he’s hesitating. And I want to know what made him do that. I feel like maybe it's more than that he’s not ready for it. I mean that smile she gave him was stunning! The way she looked at him showed no regrets of what happened between them in Moonbright. Either way, I’ve got my eye on you, Tora. Haha, careful Quincey your mafia heir training is showing, catching those files! And I didn’t miss Tora’s jerk to want to step in quickly and help her too. Butter fingers because Tora’s around? Either way, I laughed at Quincey’s banter with the ladies. I appreciate and crave any and all Quincey time we get. What am I saying? I crave this story in its entirety! Poppy was going to share her Bento with Tora! I love this lady so much. But wait! Office supply closet tryst coming up? Does Tora need a reward kiss if he puts out that cigarette RIGHT NOW? I got actual TINGLES when his hand snuck out of the door and pulled her in! Did he pop her on the table? Will we get to see that moment another time? Am I addicted to any and all moments they have together? I have no shame. Not even a little bit sorry. OH! Oh this is so good! So Poppy keeps forgetting how ridiculously good looking Tora is because she’s become so comfortable around him. And if I was to meet this man in real life there’s a good chance I’d swallow my tongue or just giggle a lot because I wouldn’t know what to do with myself. BUT what I really appreciate the most is that Poppy recognises how hot he is, but has zero idea that this smoking hot God slipped down some stairs because he got a glance at her glorious boobies. Or that he sat in his car embracing being her errand boy. Or that he blushes around her. And all of those moments and more raced through my mind when she said that because that’s what I thought. Yes he is basically Adonis. BUT he’s human and a total simp for her and that just makes him even more attractive, for me. *Gasps* Seriously, my heart just came to a full stop for a few seconds when I read him say, “I missed ya.” It is now going into overtime to make up for the pause, but bloody hell and oh my god and shitttttt! He said it...he really just put himself out there in a tiny way, but that said soooo much! 3 words and I'm down. He missed her...a few days break and he has just said that he thought about her. He wanted to be around her. He felt things for her. I wonder just how often that dickweed said he missed her? Note to self, I must stop comparing them, but seriously! I highly doubt she’s heard those words very often. And he said it in such an intimate and no holds barred way. Direct eye contact, close proximity, not under the influence of anything but what he’s feeling. And now we’re left with a cliffhanger to how she’s going to take it and I feel my heart skip a beat each time I think about those 3 words. Lily, I say this each time, but you are a MASTER! This episode was fantastic! I loved getting an in-depth look into Poppy’s thoughts and that end was pure torture AND delight! I can handle the week wait. I totally can...

@Jax, what a great summary to all my thoughts. I couldn't have put it better. The main thing I'm thinking about right now is how Poppy didn't look at Tora when she said "I'm in the mafia, too" at the lake. Like, she could have just been joking around, but I feel it was more than that. Granny obviously has something she's keeping from Poppy, but I think Poppy knows something she isn't telling anyone. She seems to ask the right questions as though she has experience with mafia life before. When Quincey first confirmed what he and Tora do, she wasn't fixated on the what like most people would have been. She went straight to: okay, how much danger are we in? What do I need to know? What do I not need to know? She was in work mode, not processing mode. She doesn't get hung up on things that would make most people bolt, but rather looks for solutions to the immediate problem. Her mom in photos also has the same demeanor that Tora has. I feel like she left to go into witness protection or something. Honestly, Idk what to trust anymore, I just hope Poppy isn't keeping something from Tora that will damage his trust in her. It's got to be hard for him to trust anyone in his line of work and he needs Poppy to be his safe space. I hope everything works out because I don't think I could handle it if something happened to them at this point. I also worry that someone is going to get hurt soon because we've come to love these characters and now we've been slowly lulled into a sense of security with them and that makes all my nerve ending scream PANIC. I feel like it might be Pinky because it would upset Erdene and he's still kinda green, but I also worry about Gyu considering his hacking is bound to catch up to him at some point.

I’m actually really panicked about Gil and the fact that Quincey said she’s in danger, but neither he or Erdene want to tell her what’s going on. I REALLY hope that Poppy tells Tora about her gut feeling in the upcoming episodes. Something that makes me even MORE nervous is that eventually, Poppy will have to meet Vincent (she works with his son. How could she not?). We know that Tora smokes a cigarette every time he’s scared, and he always smokes a cigarette around Vincent. Imagine if he had to watch his abuser talk to the love of his life?
