The plot just moved MILES ahead and I'm so excited for what this means in terms of new story arcs!!! I initially thought Quincey was just making a comment about the sexual frustration energy between the two of them at the beginning, not that they were both in the sights for the clan. Maybe a little of both, but with the clan info dump that followed, the clan target made more sense. Poppy sneaking out in the wee hours of the morning had me a little, "GIRL, NO!" but I was so glad she was safe. And Tora wasted no time getting Jacob & Erdene set back up! At first I was like, but what about Poppy??? But if they're taking her to hide outside the city, it doesn't make sense to start her at a new job. I'm LIVING for the undercut, the cut of that shirt, the peeking tattoos, that color on him, the EVERYTHING in that last panel! My brain went brrrzzzt and squealed and had to fan myself. I literally didn't notice Poppy and Tora were wearing the same color, even with Erdene/Jacob pointing it out. I was *that* distracted. And Quincey is dressed for a sunny, perhaps beachy locale. You know who else was last seen in a sunny, jungle-esque (or beachy/coastal) environment? Could we be setting up for a Goliath appearance??? 🤞🙏🤞

Did you all hear how loud my jaw hit the floor with this episode? I’m still trying to reattach it and I’ve been to work and done mum things since I first read it. But yikes! So I’m going to jump straight in, and Poppy had a LOT of aggression to get out as she swung that bag (is that what it was?) at Tora’s head. That would have been interesting if she’d made contact. But she’s definitely got some things to work through - and rightly so! - judging by her freak out. I felt this tight ball of emotion as I read her losing her shiz. Quincey’s horrified expression only took the edge off a little. And yeah, I was definitely nodding to him saying about getting pent up sexual frustration out, I was eager to see their reactions to that, until I saw this. “But at least you two will be safe from Vincent for tonight!” And the ‘Oh shit,’ look on Tora’s face told me how bad it was going to be. Was I prepared anyway? Nope! Tora just fell into the biggest shit pile and I’m just standing by shaking my head at him. Like. bro, you had opportunities . . . I can’t deny it broke my heart a little with the panel of Tora and Poppy standing facing so far and away from each other. I find it interesting that Quincey is sitting closer to Tora, and wonder at the symbolism behind that. But this is it, they’ve blocked each other out and it hurts. “Because I fucked up. Bad.” Well, we always knew you weren’t dumb Tora. But I think you may have thought with the wrong head a few too many times recently. He could have told her tonight, while they were watching nature documentaries. And although I’m still very much shaking my head at him, I’m sure the fear of her walking away from him for good was the reason he kept delaying telling her. Ironic then that he’s just made it 100% times than it could have been. Man my heart hurts right now. I’m interested in Poppy using the word ‘allegedly’ when it comes to chin hairs’ bad moves. Why she didn’t believe that one completely despite him creeping her the hell out. I know it comes to light more later on, but it made me curious. “That’s your conclusion, not mine.” Welp and there is Poppy trying to gain some control back. I mean it hurts. Putting myself in Poppy’s shoes, it hurts like hell and at the moment I can’t see a way back from that. But carrying on, I’m surprised Tora let her sneak out. He must have his men trailing her still to let her go back to her apartment. There’s no way she managed to get past him without him noticing! ‘After leaving Tora a short ‘Thank you’ note’ Pft, I hope we get a flashback to that note, because I’d love to know how she worded that supposed ‘thanks’!. I didn’t realise that the day from hell was a Friday! So jumping ahead to Monday made more sense for everything she fills us in on when she gets to the office. Like Tora’s new hair cut - that I’ll get to soon. But I wonder how she was in her apartment alone for the weekend, having all that time to think and stew. I’d be a hot mess! But I understood her need for normalcy. After everything . . . the girl needs it, so long as she isn't going to push it all down to deal with it too late. But the bad news just keeps on coming. Although, it's probably better that she gets it all out of the way now, knows EVERYTHING and can go forward with a clearer picture. It’s not having all the answers that’s led to my heart hurting, so having it all laid out is a relief! Chin hairs’ bad shit has finally come to light, with Dene and Jacob at long last. When I read that I did add panic to what Poppy is already going through, having to figure out a new job now too. But then I thought, what now happens with Mr Lam? His request for Quincey was what brought them in. Will that mean his late wife's book won’t be finished? Will Poppy carry on editing for Quincey - I know he called her Miss Editor when he first walks in, but I need to know specifics, apparently, LOL! Wow Dene, you are laying it on super thick there with Poppy! I’m with Jacob, could she try and manipulate it any-more? Ouch! The only one who needs to come to her own conclusions with Tora and Quincey is Poppy. With a fresh and honest perspective. So I really appreciated Jacobs quick and forthright getting to the point on what chin hairs has been up to. And finally Poppy believes it . . . ‘So what Quincey and Tora said is true . . . ? At least the part about Gil fleeing the city?’ Uh oh, has Poppy been questioning other things they said too? I have no doubt Tora helping them get new jobs was because it was the right thing to do. But how much was it also to try and get on Poppy’s good side, because he helped her friends? Whom they’d told to not inform Poppy she was in danger . . . what a mess this is becoming. Eeek! “Oh, man, bless his black little heart.” I straight laughed hard at Jacob saying that about Tora! I needed that little light moment. Though Poppy looks like she’s starting to check out of the conversation, her expression is anxious. The penny dropped a few seconds behind what they spoke about. It’s catching up to her; talk about mind overload! “But here’s the kicker, and promise you won’t get mad at us . . . or at Tora . . .” Nuh uh, Poppy has every right to be pissed at Tora. He’s the one who needs to make it better - if he even can! - not have her friends say that. Even if they were sworn to secrecy about telling her, and I’m sure it was hard as hell to not be able to warn her. They’d clearly made up their minds today though, as all the chin hairs debacle has come out. Despite the warning from Quincey. During all this though, two parts of this tale jumped out at me. 1. “And I’m just running around doing stupid Poppy things, completely oblivious??” That both made me giggle, because she’s not unaware of herself. But also made me cringe, because . . . yeah, Poppy. Everyone knew but you. The knife just keeps twisting! And 2. “But Quincey said to leave it to Tora to break the news to you . . .” which he failed spectacularly at, while you were in Moonbright, or in the closet, his apartment, the park . . . at this point her trust for him is just a gaping wound that won’t stop bleeding now. ‘Damn it . . . this is all my fault.’ NOPE! Poppy was trying to bring in a big investor for the company, with Mr Lam. Who, as I previously said, wanted Quincey, those were his terms. So if anyone is to blame inadvertently, its’ Mr Lam. Or if we’re going further back, Goliath for being an idiot and losing the blasted notebook. OR Julri, for being a cheating jerk and making Poppy crash her scooter and finding the notebook. So yeah, lots of other people, or circumstances are to blame, but I hope she doesn’t keep it on herself because the look on her face is crippling! Yes they told her they’re mafia, and she made the choice to carry on with Quincey any-way. But that’s because of Mr Lam’s investment to keep a job going for herself and her friends. Eep, a wild Quincey appears! Looking chic and effortless as always! “Are you ready for your new adventures outside of the city?” Erm . . . is this a safe house he’s talking about? That Poppy probably hasn’t agreed to? Because I’m going to presume there hasn’t been any contact between her sneaking home and now? Also, did Jacob just call Tora a ‘DILF’? Whaaaaa? More importantly, . . THEY’RE MATCHING? I am dying!!! HOW? WHY? Is this Quincey holding whatever the cause of the ‘pact’ was 8 years ago, over Tora’s head? How did they know what Poppy was wearing? On my first read I was confused why he’d gone to get a haircut the very next morning after Poppy left, but now I know there’s been a couple days between so it clicked. But either way, I think it looks great for what we can see and I’m so interested in knowing what’s going to come next! I presume maybe it’s something to do with where Poppy has to be relocated to? Or hell, maybe he was just feeling hella stressed and needed to do something different that wasn’t going to be destructive. Been there! Reining myself back in from the new hair now. This has been a tremulous episode. Poppy’s trust with Tora has just been completely shattered and that’s been heartbreaking to watch unfold. At the moment I’m on edge, with no hope of seeing them getting cosy for a long freaking time. No amount of apologising is going to make up for this. Withholding such vital, life changing information is . . . well it doesn’t get much bigger. And him knowing it’s all of his doing - I’m expecting a little self destruct mode Tora soon. He’s just inadvertently pushed someone he cares about, so far away, whether he calls it a ‘crush’ or love. I’m sure he’s hurting too, but that’s secondary to what Poppy is now going to have to process. But I’m in for the long haul with these two, and I’ll keep patching up this heartbreak and see how they navigate this alone or together. Wincing, crying and laughing along the way!

Ok now that my thighs have stopped rubbing together, I need to get into my feelings. So first off. Oh man. So must sexual tension and then Quincey opens his big mouth. But then Vincent and his Moby Dick came into play. (Look at his scarf it totally has those vibes) Then when she’s like “why didn’t you just grab my bag?” Yes while that is the burning question, I think it’s safe to say she would have gone to lane regardless to report him and he would have gotten his nose wrecked. LOL can you imagine tora coming into that meeting that night with a swollen nose? Ahahaha Anyways I digress. You can see Poppy really trying to take in everything that is being laid out in front of her. I can see why she’s upset. And she is crawling back into her shell. But not completely because girlfriend is wearing a cute crop top. She’s been seen with that yellow one with the flowers but something about this top is amazing! When they all start talking about how they are all out of jobs she’s taking her role in this too harshly. I think anyways. Here’s why: She was literally doing what she thought was her job. Or something that was a façade. Mr lam wanted QB and so she got him QB. And then I think back to when Tora “broke up” his ties with her and she saw the paper plane and she’s like “ I guess I’ll never know what that silly man was up to that day.” And not be the asshole but I have to be; everyone signed a document that they were mafia men. Well now here we are;she knows now. And what she chose to do with that information as she pleased because yeah I’d be like wtf. Now we see that tora is entering the office. After learning, well kind of learning what Tora actually did for them. “Tora did what?” She probably was trying to still connect everything. And now that we have a solid timeline because that 2 month long day was ended last night and carried over to Monday. This pleases me. Lol. So a lot of stuff must have happened; such as that undercut but more than that; Tora was left alone with his thoughts. Probably heard her left but let her do what she wanted. All of this time he was trying to keep her safe from what had transpired that first day in moonbright; from that asshole Yadori, from a lot more. I hope he read that note that she wrote because I’m very sure, that held a lot of her feelings. And she even said that she cared about him. She must feel absolutely indescribable at all of this. And she is trying to shove down her feelings by wanting “normalcy” which I get. But she was getting so good at confronting those feelings I know this is all over the place and hopefully y’all can piece together what my brain is desperately trying to say. Anyways yes damn that undercut. And Tora twinning with her. Up until that part, I think my heart was breaking. But that gave me a glimmer of hope. I have to trust the writing. Because at the end of the day, this is Lilydusk’s and she has given us so much fluff lately and we all knew it was a ticking time bomb.

To have your life, your profession uprooted in the course of a night is already bad enough, to have it been taken without you so much as having a say in it, is even worse. Just scratching the surface, her economic situation was not great to begin with, and lets not forget that she also sends money to granny. Right now she must be thinking what the heck will happen to her career. Because having her name attached to a scam so big will not help her on the long run. She must be thinking of Mr. Lam, and how his perception of her will change as a professional. Is a hit, a big hit, a huge hit at a great personal cost when you look back on all that she has sacrificed to get where she is. On the personal note, as some of you have wonderfully exposed, her trust in Tora has completely shattered at this point. Heck if I was her, I would not believe a thing that would come out of his mouth much less have him dictate where she’ll relocate and such. That “that’s your conclusion NOT MINE” was big as FUCK YOU. And she has every right to pull a 180 on him and tell him you know what? i ain’t going fucking nowhere. Im gonna give daddy a break cause you know…. We have too. And GODDAMN, that man does not give himself enough credit. He is the fucking John Wick of Narin City. He’s smart as fuck, and resourceful. Awe I feel so bad for poppy right now. It’s very sad to see how putting everything out in the open has made her come back into her shell and you can definitely tell her small trust in tora has deteriorated. It’s also interesting how through him finally letting everything out he feels more free whereas with poppy she has become more confined it’s like now that everything is out in the open now it’s having more of a positive affect on him in a way cause now he feels like he no longer has to hide whereas with poppy she is now questioning herself again and her whole life has basically been ripped from her from her job to now possibly not being able to live in her apartment due to her possibly becoming one of the “numbered.” Basically he’s free and she’s now the one trapped in a cage so to speak. Read this in an exhausted daze last night and thought I dreamt up this undercut bc GAHTDAMN 🥵🥵🥵 I did not anticipate Poppy learning everything on this night-that-will-never-end and I don’t know how she didn’t pass out right there. It was only earlier that week in Moonbright when Poppy told him she was starting to trust him, and right after their argument she admitted to caring about him. But when Poppy says “That’s YOUR conclusion, not mine” you can feel that developing trust absolutely disintegrate and her walls go up again. The angst and distance between our favorite couple has arrived, and while it’s heartbreaking, I’m so excited to see where they go from here!! We still don’t know what Poppy wrote to him in the note from after their argument, and I wonder if over the weekend Tora read the note and gained this renewed sense of purpose he seems to have from his markedly new appearance. Reading Poppy’s feelings for him in her own words could have put a sense of urgency in Tora, like “I fucked up but she cares for me and I don’t want to lose the potential of what we could be.” This episode was a MAJOR turning point and I don’t understand how Lily packed in this much plot in every panel. 👏👏👏 now to go reread again and again 😂😂😂

I want her to do something reactionary that almost feels out of character but isn’t all things considering, as an emotional release for her. Now that I've started to think straight after that absolute bombshell of an ending (oh, who am I kidding...I'm going to be a drooling mess over that last frame for at least two weeks...minimum 🤤🤤🤤)... Ok so I have a theory. It can be totally wrong but I am going for it. Wouldn’t it be amusing it Quincy finally got mad at Tora for the stuff he put Poppy through then actually fought Tora for real. Lily has been dropping hints that Quincy is quite athletic and can fight. I think Quincy chooses to let Tora “manhandle” him. So in my imagination Quincy and Tora have it out and somehow Quincy takes a part of Tora’s hair and thus the haircut. 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Just a theory, but one that I would definitely laugh at.
