I am HOWLING with laughter!!!!! Omg this was amazing! Thank you SO much for this one. I love the dynamic between Quincey and his mom. And the caption “A Mothers Love” as she is staring at Vince on the yacht. Like she wants to legit kill the bastard. And how she’s sobbing. Her Quincey came for her!!!! Then there’s BB Tora. Like the TCH came out when she’s like “sooooo your ego is cool and good to feed?” Ahahaha This was a plethora of amazing content. I’m not even mad about the blue balls we had to suffer last week. Because seeing Toras eyes look like they were about to come out of his skull and the return of his fangs. Ma’am you spoil us. While Bobby is stumbling around in the background? I wonder what they think Tora lied about concerning the notebook. All Tora said was he didn't find anything concerning it, how do they know if he did or didn't? I definitely need to reread this chapter, because I feel like I skipped around, BUT the interaction between Quincey and his mom ❤️ someone mentioned in the comment section that she looks like Poppy in profile, and I guess I see it, but she honestly reminded me of Candy from the beginning of S2! Just a mom who loves her son wholeheartedly. And I know we have green panel at the end, but I don’t think (hoping, I’m hoping) it’s a bad thing. Poppy is stumbling around in the back and is gonna give Tora a playful smack somehow, but Tora’s mafia reflexes are kicking in (hence green panel). Just another reminded that even the most innocent of actions can be completely different for the two of them. But lastly. Tora. Did you bang Quincey’s mom? We just want to know.

Lily you really came back from hiatus BLAZING with so many new questions, plot points, and the reintroduction of Queen Ghoa 👸the Balthuman family dynamic feels so layered and complex but it’s sweet to see that Quincey and his mom look out for each other, and that they include Tora in this when they’re able to! It’s not the first time Quincey has rescued Tora from Vincent, he’s also the reason Tora got to check out of clan duty when his mental spirals were really sending him downhill. It’s easier to see now where Quincey gets his heart and sun-shining sassy personality from, and I absolutely adore this character insight 💜

Honest to God, what an episode! Beautiful and breathtaking visually, Lily, and the story 🤯 🤯 So much has been packed in the last two episodes and it keeps me guessing and on the edge of my seat for every 👏single👏panel👏👏 I love the strong, female that Ghoa is and I LOVE that we see her emotions in regards to Vincent - she's not a woman who needs him or his money or is overly affectionate because she gets something in return, I love how she seems so sick of his shit. It also seems like Ghoa is the one who has the real power here (offering to pay for the lives on candy crush to get him off the game) and Vincent needs her and her connections to keep his grasp on Narin - and his verbal, almost subtle abuse of her is used to keep her complacent at least that seems to be what he thinks (telling her to smile because the cameras can see *everything*). Though we don't know much about Ghoa yet, we know she loves Quincy to bits and she cares about the people he cares about - she seems like an all around Queen and I hope Poppy gets to learn some of that badassery from her ❤ I have so much more to say but I'm anxious to read everyone else's take on this too. Also, dying to find out if Ghoa and Tora slept together 🙈🙈

It’s been a busy weekend since I read this episode and I’ve let it sit for a bit. On my initial read through I was pretty confused. But in hindsight this episode is actually structured like a lot of the older ones were. We get our present day setting of the three of them discussing what went down, a flash back to flesh out characters and relationships as well as visually clarifying the sequence of events and answering questions: Why did Vincent look for Tora? (Both good and bad - Tora is the only one Vincent trusts to get a job done, but also Vincent knows Tora lied to him. I’m still a bit unclear what that lie is and how Vincent learned it was a lie). How did Ghoa find Vincent? (Quincey came in clutch to save his boy Tora. He and his mom have a close relationship, Quincey is in a position to ask her for favours and she chooses him over Vincent.) We also get a parallel time scene to Ghoa and Vincent on a Yacht, and yes, the time stamp still makes no sense, but I appreciate Lily giving us one. Suspension of belief activated - story telling is hard! We get confirmation about Vincent and Ghoa’s relationship #fakeasfuck, and I’m sorry our mama boss had to sleep with that candy crushing crust. I feel sorry for Vinny stans at this point (love ya, Emily). Vincent is a lot more pathetic than we thought, aka a lot less sexy. I, personally, simp only for successful villains. Overall I enjoyed the episode. On my second read it managed to pull me back in to the moment and dissipate my frustrations about the neverending night. Now all that’s left to learn is what Tora did 8 years ago to make him so embarassed! And I really hope the mafia green at the end of the episode is owed to Poppy swinging at him and not “Baby there’s a Scharch in the water, there’s something underneath my bed”…

I’m going to take a wild guess and say Ghoa and Vincent were an arranged marriage and that they are together for show and maybe a mafia alliance. Vincent is going to get to Tora eventually though. Even just by the playground panels you could tell he was furious. Hope Tora doesn’t get hurt but something tells me Vincent won’t let Tora off lightly. I think though Ghoa and Poppy will get along well.

What do you think about that: I read the episode in Moonbright again and Poppy told Tora, that she had a grandpa with at least two sisters. Her mum is grandpa's daughter. But since Danny and Belle (Poppys aunts) are the children of grandpa's youngest sister, he has to have older siblings, probably an older sister. What if that's the part of the family in the Altan clan she never heard of? So it would be Poppys great aunt who is the leader of Altan? Would explain why she didn't recognised Quinceys mum. If Ghoa is her aunt, she might have...?

Let’s dive straight in! I’m glad we got to see Quincey again, even though it’s technically the same day that we already had. Wow, I can’t believe how much has gone down since that morning and Poppy and Tora walked out of that closet in the office! It’s been a wild ride! And it keeps getting crazier. I had a feeling it wasn’t anyone to be threatened by, Tora didn’t see on edge, going in first or anything. But Tora’s, “Fuckin’ hell, Quinceton!” made me laugh, coupled with Quincess’ whoops face. I wonder what happened off screen we didn’t see. Whatever it was, the tease made me laugh. I’m not going to gloss over the breaking news article because that has my attention. Who is this chief investigator who’s renowned for his aggressive stance on busting Narin City corruption and clans? It cuts off so I wonder if this is someone we’re going to see in the future - if so how much could that affect Tora and Quincey? Or Poppy? Or is this not something much to note? I’m going to keep it tucked close either way, just in case. Whoever it is has given Tora a very dark look as he reads it . . . I loved the dramatics of Quincey telling the story and Poppy clapping him. I’m excited to watch their friendship develop more as time goes on. Tora’s mood and defensive arm crossing just added to the humour. Feeling a bit jealous there, Tiger? Poppy not stroking your ego enough? Although you can tell tensions sexual and otherwsie, are getting fraught.The snipping back and forth between them tonight is rough. I don’t blame Quincey for turning his back on them as he read his mum’s message. Although that too made me nervous. What’s he going to have to do to pay that favour back? Ahhhh, I can’t tell you how much I appreciate that flashback to what went down to have Ghoa intercept Vincent and give Tora a chance to get away! That's a very - erm - eclectic taste in the shirt you're wearing on your yacht, Vinny. Ha! That look of ice as Ghoa is looking at Vincent made me shiver. She was evoking a whole lot of stuff in that one panel alone, and he’s clueless to it . . . When I first saw her step out into the airport and that there was no-one there waiting for her, I felt my stomach drop. Here’s the heir to a seemingly very powerful clan; she’s married to the leader of another clan, and yet here she is stepping off a plane to no one. That has to cut deep. We saw in the previous episode that Vincent didn’t give a damn he hadn’t arranged for anyone to be there. But how disrespectful for her to be treated like that. I know in the end Quincey arrives - and I can’t imagine the traffic he caused with that drive! - but arranged marriage between them or not, why isn’t she being given the respect she deserves for her position? “That devil . . .” says it all about how she feels about Vincent. I relished the phone call with Smithy! I feel like she has someone she can marginally trust with him, especially if he was so quick to question if Vincent is getting senile. I mean, the man took a huge risk whispering that. So now I wonder how many others question Vincent’s leadership. Bringing up the notebook was interesting! Just where IS chin hairs with that? Is he the one finding the videos and leaking them? But to what gain . . . So Vincent doesn’t trust anyone but Tora to look for the notebook, but what exactly does he know Tora lied about - that he has a lead on it? Automatically my mind has gone to Poppy and if it will come back to her first. But I’m also nervous that Smithy says Vincent is furious with Tora. What is that going to mean for him? Is Vincent going to tug him back to his side again, leaving Poppy and Quincey exposed without him? Are my thoughts racing ahead of me? For sure! “Can’t he leave that poor boy alone for once?” *insert strong look of surprise from me* I’m going to presume from that line that Ghoa was aware of some of the ‘training’ Vincent put Tora through. He’s a grown man now, her use of boy has me seriously wondering just what she knows. *shudders* I didn’t dwell on that part for too long because seeing Quincey run to Ghoa shouting ‘Moooommy!’ was freaking adorable!! I took such a huge breath of relief that straight off the bat you can tell they're close and she’s protective of Quincey. I desperately wanted Q to have a solid stable parental figure and she is an absolute Queen! I know so many have compared them to the Aphrodite and Eros from Lore Olympus and I agree, it’s precious and warm and knowing she hates Vincent like the rest of us is just the strawberry on top for me! And that look into the Altan clan was delicious too. “How’s our dearest matriarch?” Are we going to meet this badass grandmother? I sure hope so! Hearing her health is deteriorating and ‘that old devil’ would jump at the chance to do something terrible to take over their clan is definitely threatening to take my excitement away hearing about her. Quincey’s worried face just makes that worse! Until - “Fear not, mommy. Your faithful son is Balthuman in name, but Altan in spirit.” reignited my fire again! How exhausting it must be for them all having to tiptoe, to a certain extent, around Vincent all the time. Never being able to completely relax just waiting for something. . . It makes me worry for Quincey more. He’s always this bubbly happy guy on the surface. But he’s burying or running from a lot, and I’m wondering when that’s going to catch up with him. Back to the yacht now though and bloody Candy Crush? I laughed with derision when I read Vincent wouldn’t pay for extra lives out of principle. I’m sorry, are you serious, you relic? Bloody hell, the shit Ghoa has to put up with! I’d laugh if I didn’t dislike him so much. Would we believe people are questioning your ‘virility’ Vincent? *flashes back to his temper tantrum with the angel statue* Erm yeah, I’d believe that. Oh I am living for Ghoa’s deadpan look at that comment! ‘Go fuck yourself. Vincent.’ indeed. I would be very surprised if this marriage wasn’t one of convenience instead of starting out romantic. The man has zero interest in this smoking hot woman. Unless he’s not interested in women? Not a theory I’d have gone down before now, but who knows. Are we going to get a Poppy/Ghoa meeting? *jumps around excitedly* I definitely want to see that!! And here’s where it gets odd. Quincey is eluding to something Tora did in regards to Ghoa when he was 18, and I know there’s a lot going around that maybe he had sex with her. But to be completely honest, I think - and I hope - it isn’t that. First of all the fact she says, “that poor boy,” makes me question if she sees him more as the young boy her son basically grew up with, than just someone Vincent has abused all his life. After all, Tora can’t be that much older than Quincey. Secondly, I can’t see Tora going there with her either. She’s the wife of his abuser, whether that's political or not. If she was aware of what Vincent put him through, how must that feel for Tora? We know he was sober during whatever happened, but in episode 55 he said he did drugs a few times, was this maybe one of those times? Quincey used the bed reference, who knows maybe Tora got high on something and stumbled into the wrong room/bed one night . . . And yes I am totally reaching here and probably haven’t worded it correctly. I’m also running with, we had no idea what Poppy whispered to Tora when he was giving her a piggyback ride, we all thought all kinds of crazy things. But it turned out to be something goofy and fun he was a little embarrassed about. So who knows, maybe Quincey’s choice of words are more to get a reaction out of Tora than having heavy meaning. Although judging by the way Tora has this wild look in his eyes - how many beers did he have? - and he’s leaping at Quincey, it was something more embarrassing than being caught dancing, LOL. Now the big question - is Poppy taking a swing at Tora by accident as he’s trapped her with her hoodie AGAIN, or is she protecting her assets with Quincey? Either way mafia mode Tora has been activated and I’m excited to see how the next episode is going to open up! Will we be laughing or crying? Only Lily and her perfectly timed comedic moments know! Thank you for pouring so much into this amazing story, Lily! This episode felt so long and impactful. I’m on edge for the next.
